Dear Lady, If you walked into the room I would kiss your hand. I've had a box of slippery elm powder sitting here for three years and never had the courage to take it. The only instructions I found were "mix it and drink it." Your instructions clearly explain what we are up against! I really intend to do this!
...Barbara O'neill recommendation is to mix a teaspoon with 1/2-1 cup water and drink before meals 3-4 times a day. Also, mix with marshmallow root and 2 cups water to make a hair conditioner. Gonna try that one😊
@maheway7880 ... What I'm doing is wisking it on low heat until it thickens, then cooling until drinkable. Lately, juicing cabbage, it has a sweet taste and starts with about 2-3oz and gradually increases. Also,a big aloe vera leaf from a grocery store (I don't trust bottled aloe) slice off about an inch and spoon off the lovely slime and swoosh around in mouth until it breaks down, it doesn't taste good but it works, for me. Love using it on my face, I swear it's helping. There is a radical woman, Peggy Shermer (?sp) "gut feeling" on RUclips, who has some amazing natural treatments for all of our conditions. She's into celery juicing, mastic gum, the lemon- ginger-honey liver cleanse, and also shares about slippery elm and so many ways of healing ourselves. And she's fun.

Hey sweet young lady. I just looked up your video again and have been making my drink along with the video. I’m enjoying it because I really like malted drinks. I’m having gastrointestinal pain from meds I’ve been on. I’m trusting it will do the job. Thanks so much. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Well done! From Canada.
I do beleive it’s helping. The pain is less than it was. Sure would like to get free of blood pressure meds then I think I would heal faster. But it’s helping a lot I’m also going to try to administer some to my elderly ailing kitty. I think she was poisoned. I was able to feed her through syringe until she started eating and drinking on her own but I’ve noticed a couple of time she’s grown up blood so I’m thinking this may heal her insides as it coats all the way down. Small doses with a hope and prayer💕
Girl, my life has been ruined from stomach ulcers so i know your pain. Just got my slippery elm back to start on it again and looking for good recipes ftom others like us. I was making a gel and just eating it but curious of other ways that help ppl. Ty
I love love love slippery elm since 3 years for my gastro issues, it's also good for cough and sore throat. Thanks for sharing your video, it's sure to help a lot of people. I also hear it's good for pets as well!
Hi, I came across slippery elm many years ago whilst breeding goats. We saved one that was very emaciated from have worms of which we didn’t know at the time, she recovered 100%. It’s not only soothing internally, but also nourishing as well. My daughter also gives it to her pet dog as she sometimes has stomach issues. I use it for myself during diverticulitis episodes, also with coughs and colds. There are so many things one can use it for.
For me…to stop an acute attack of excruciating stomach pain, if I eat it at the wallpaper gunky stage….that is the only way it eases my stomach. So just remember that for emergency use. I will be trying it with the added milk as a drink for general use though…great idea.
PLEASE share what name brand do you use. I have read so many reviews from Amazon and all of them state it does not have this consistency. Please and thank you in advance ⚘️
Hi there. Thank you so much for making this video and sharing your story. Brings a lot of hope and positivity. Can I ask how many times a day did you take your grandparents slippery elm recipe in the first two and a half weeks? Thank you
3 times initially. Then after 7 days dropped to 2, then down to 1, which I maintained for a few months. I then just gradually weaned to where I am at now. I may need it every 6 to 12 months periodically but it's not a golden rule. I can go longer imbetween xx
Thank you so much for replying. This is really helpful. I started taking it 1g twice a day for IBS constipation but think I'll need to up it. Really appreciate this thank you x
My mom has been diagnosed with hyper gastritis and I have convinced her to try out your recipe. While, I do not have any issues, but can I take it for gut health or how’s it for women’s reproductive health? Thank you ❤
Let me know how your mum gets on. There are other herbs that are more ideal for what you are personally looking for. Slippery elm is now an endangered plant so it's only really recommended currently for health needs. To maintain your own gut health you can look into fermented foods, plants such as red clover, ladies mantle, red raspberry leaf and mugwort alongside nettle would be wonderful herbs for you to consider. Xx
My diet was OK, mine was caused from stress at school initially. I ended up with stomach ulcers at 15. I then had them right through from my mouth to well my rear end 24.7 with no relief..This was the first thing that helped. Have to say now I can eat it I'm hooked on spices in my food 😂 back then it had to be very bland. I was always in and out of hospital.
I started off daily initially as my stomach was very severe and req frequent hospitalizations. I now have it once every 6 months to a year if I feel it is necessary. Tbh once you have it under control there are other herbs you can consider introducing as well as this can be a strange texture for many. It's now endangered too so I tend to only use it when I really have to these days but my stomach hasnt bothered me in years now. It's a beautiful medicine and the perfect one to work with when feeling at a loss. I tried pharma meds for far too long for this issue, had many a surgery I likely wouldn't have needed. Once a day would do initially for a few weeks then start to slowly wean it down and see how your body reacts. It's a wonderful herb. If your really bad you can take it up to 3x a day. This medicine is without a doubt one of my plant allies and I will forever be greatful to it. Xx

Such wonderful information, a true alternative treatment for acid reflux/GERD, as opposed to drug treatment that always comes with side effects! Much gratitude🩷
I heard something today you may find interesting, the muscle that closes the oesophageal valve to the stomach is closed when relaxed and open when the muscle is tight/stretched etc. A large problem is getting it to close….so if you have a dose of liquid mineral magnesium, apparently it relaxes the muscle/duct so that it can actually close back up. I will be trying this. On a side note, for anyone who has this miracle mineral in their medicine cupboard….if you have experienced the levels of pain from a gallstone wedged in the duct (where you’re frozen and unable to even breath or move and locked like a statue)….take 3 or 4 big pipette squibs of the mineral magnesium in a shot of juice (anything just to conceal the mineral taste)…I kid you not, within 5 to 10 minutes the duct relaxes and the pain goes right down. I don’t know how many ambulances trips could be saved if doctors actually gave people this safe and cheap emergency remedy…but it would be significant! Lastly (🙄 lol!)…a lot of my stomach pain was actually caused by not enough stomach acid…instead of antacids, when the pain starts I take a spoonful of apple cider vinegar diluted with a bit of water, and if I catch it early enough it stops it dead in its tracks. If I don’t catch it early enough then only manuka honey and a wallpaper paste consistency preparation of slippery elm root and marshmallow root will stop it. Even strong painkillers don’t touch it so slippery elm root is a lifesaver. I’ll stop rambling lol! I paused the video so I have no idea yet what her recipe is….I’m looking forward to it. Take care 😁👍🏻💕🤗
What slippery elm powder did you get? I’ve gotten two different types and they all did not turn into gel like substance. I wasted my money on two different products that did not work like it’s supposed to.
As and when I need it now tbh, but roughly every 6 months as a top up. I have hobes on daily slippery elm atm and I'm reviewing that in a month. His symptoms are severe though.
Yes you can. However always look into contraindications and any other potential clashes with meds you may already be taking. Sometimes it's best waiting 2 hrs before or after medications.
I don't find it really matters in all honesty. I would wait two hours after any other medications but other than that take when symptomatic. I initially took it daily for a good while. Now its every 6-12 months ish as maintenance.
You can take it before each meal, more so if its the caps version, some people need to start off on a high dose, others a low dose, I tend to shoot for the mid ground and let symptoms take me from there..
I find that it’s a nice bedtime drink. Relaxing and soothing. If I take it in the morning I don’t want to eat anything so it interrupts my meal schedule so best at night for me.
