My salute to you for involving Grandma in activities with you and your daughter. Too many elderly are left to languish at home alone or in some type of boarding. Your Grandma will keep her mind sharp and you will receive the bounty of a reward from God. Your daughter is learning by the example of generations caring for each other. You are Blessed.
This is our goal!!! Plus she is having fun!

I miss my Grandma but it feels good to see your Grandma. Beautiful Blessings
I spent 3 years with stomach problems. After many, many tests and doctor appointments, they still couldn't figure out what was wrong. I always knew food was medicine, and herbs were healing. But restoring gut health was what started my quest into herbalism. So herbs like marshmallow, elm, coriander and fennel were the first ones i really learned about.
Im having the same issue. I've had scans and blood test and colonoscopy and they still can't figure out what's going on. Can I ask did you find something that helps you? My issue is pains in my stomach all over. Sometimes so bad im down for the day or two.
@erinjohnson8140 stomach pain is the worst! I finally just decided my issue was probably leaky gut since the doctors couldnt find anything. I had nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and EXTREME bloating. Coriander and fennel tea really helped with the gas and bloating. Along with the constipation i would get after days of diarrhea. Lots of herbs helped with the symptoms. Like the ones i mentioned previously. But honestly i didnt start getting better until i went on a carnivore diet as a way of an extreme elimination diet. In 2 months i lost 3 inches of bloat from my stomach. And using teas like this marshmallow infusion Kaylee shows to help heal my lining.
I am watching this video because I am experiencing what you all are stating. I brush my teeth a lot however, it does not solve the fowl smells that are coming from within. Interestingly, I feel like I am running hot. Quickly. Working in the automotive industry requires close contact most of the shift and I am suffering mentally and physically as well. Thank you for posting ma’am. ☮️ & ❤ to you all!
@@erinjohnson8140 get your food allergies checked.. get gluten tested for sure - dairy, etc..always take probiotics as well..psyllium too acts as a prebiotic..
@@erinjohnson8140 always check your food allergies and STAY AWAY from those foods even if you love them/addicted to them..
This helped my gut SO MUCH !!!!!! I was really suffering from eating something that inflamed my gut & wow it made SUCH a difference in 2 days ! THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤
I made my grandmother a blend of cleavers, uva Ursi, amd marshmallow root and it cured the bacterial and urinary tract infections she kept getting for years that her physician could not explain how she did it and she wouldn’t tell him either. Marshmallow root is great for getting rid of bacteria
Tea blend, infusion, tincture?
@@valvihk3649 hi! It was a tea blend. She drank it with a shot of cranberry concentrate everyday.
Hi! Would you mind sharing your tea blend recipe? I know someone with the same issue. Thanks
@@oliviabaker9235 absolutely!
1 part cleavers
1 part chickweed
1 part uva ursi
1 part marshmallow root
1/2 part peppermint (for flavor)
Take with shot of cranberry concentrate (Not regular juice which is full of sugar) must be concentrate or cranberry extract powder.
Thank you so much!
Adding slivered dried ginger and a tiny bit of dried mint is also beneficial for supporting digestive health. It is best to use cold infusions close to room temperature. Cold drinks can shock the stomach. Considering the body temperature is generally 98.6, even at room temperature you are shocking the stomach to some extent. If you warm the drink in your mouth before swallowing, you can avoid temperature shock. Also, if you are using the remedy for an acute condition such as a stomach but, you can see results quickly but if you are using it for a chronic condition it will take longer. Some herbalists will say that you should apply the rule: for every year you have had the condition, it will take one month of proper dosage to see a difference.
Thank you for this! I’ve had stomach issues all my life and I am definitely going to research this for my husband and myself! It’s so good seeing your Grandmother!!! How is her GreenStalk doing? She is so precious! You’re truly blessed to have her there with you! God bless all of you! ❤
You might want to also try slippery elm bark, and cats claw for stomach issues. Using then all together is even better
Also, covid affected my gut only, so that is where the immune system is, this would be great to assist in healing.
What an inspiration to see you involving your precious grandmother in your craft. She is so lovely and such a smart gal. Thank you and God Bless🙏
YES 💯💯🤣🤣MY FAM CALLS ME KRAZZY CAUSE THEY BOTTS
The other thing about Marshmallow root grind into a fine powder put in gel capsules take 2 twice a day with water or food...
I just found out that a local grocery (too expensive for me so I generally don't go there, so I didn't know) has a bulk spice section and between that store and another of their locations (the employee suggested going to larger locations for more) I could find other herbs there too and I found Marshmallow root!! They also had slippery elm powder, catleaf (is that catnip??), stevia powder from the actual leaf and hasn't been processed to look white, and licorice root. I got them all, on top of a bunch of spices for homemade curries as well as homemade masala chai. I'm going back later to get lavender, chamomile, rosehips and nettle that I saw. Everything I got today (19 different herbs and spices and one actual assam tea cost me only $22 and I was able to get by the ounce so got mostly one to 3 ounces and MOST were ORGANIC!! Only the star anise wasn't, and maybe the licorice root, I'll have to go check. They're all from a brand I like getting anyway and its more affordable but apparently I've been paying for the jars the whole time because the bulk spices of the SAME brand is WAY cheaper! I'm going to try to figure out how to make sugar-free marshmallows using it! Plus to save some for actual colds and things. Mine is also (all of them) Frontier!
Thank you!! Would love to see more tea blends, how much to use, etc.
For sure!!
Hello Grandma ❤.
Beautiful mornin to ya! Thank you for sharing MM root! You've entirely inspired me to finally start an herb garden.❤ Yay for us herbalist! Saving the world, one tea at a time. 🎉❤
That is so Wonderful 💛💛💛
I used slippery elm and Mashmallow to help my horses gut
So sweet to see your Grandmother in this video.
I love the conversations with your Grandmother and mother. My hubby & I have had issues with our stomaches. Will be doing my research and will have to source it for now.
It is worth looking into 💛
Marshmallow is the BEST! LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I make a cold infusion & drink when my diverticulitis flares up. It minimizes the pain & aids with healing. Such a gift of a plant! Oh, its also great for bladder infections as well, particularly when there is blood in the urine. SO soothing!
Thx for sharing Kaylee!
I LOVE learning about herbs with you!! God bless what you do! Hello to your sweet, wise, beautiful grandmother ❤️
Thanks for this video! I'm going to try this cold infusion for little ailments. I've been making hot water decoction, it has a syrupy consistency, and it's been life changing for an inflamed digestive system (heartburn, IBS, Sibo, dysbiosis). No mixing with honey though because of fodmaps and the fermentation inside the gut.
I have taken marshmallow for years. It's a fantastic herb. Works great with chemo side effects.
🤔Most people don't realize how BENEFICIAL a spoon of raw honey can be just by it's self.😁Ty much Kaylee another great video, awesome hanging out with grams.
I've been having terrible heartburn and kind of feel full after eating almost nothing for weeks now. I just ordered some marshmallow root tea... hope it works!!! This is so miserable because eating is how I reward myself after a 12-hour work day and now I can't even enjoy it anymore because it hurts. UGH!
Sorry to hear this ❤ did it work in the end?
I imagine that marshmallow is primarily a good thickener in edible confections. Is your marshmallow root mixed with water highly gelatinous in texture after soaking marshmallow root in a small amount of water for many hours? If so, then when the marshmallow root is ground into a very fine flour, then marshmallow root flour would be a good substitute for gelatin in a vegetarian or vegan diet. For example, you could make a delicious dessert. Perhaps, consider making a Gelatina de Horchata (Jell-O of rice milk). The delicious Gelatina de Horchata be made by boiling: (1 marshmallow root) (2 rice flour) (3 prickly pear fruit) (4 canela or cinnamon) (5 rose hips) (6 additional sweet things such as sugar). I recommend boiling the rose hips first in pear juice or apple juice, then straining the rose hips. The rose hip solids should be buried with a shovel in the garden, or go into the compost heap, or into a trash bin. The rose hip tea can be thickened with marshmallow flour and rice flour, but our goal is to use marshmallow. In this video you did a cold infusion, but I recommend boiling your root herbs to kill the microorganisms and spores present in the soil where the marshmallows were grown. Rice flour, of course, can be substituted for any edible grain flour such as very finely ground dent corn, wheat flour, baking flour, or flour from seeds of Palmer's pigweed Amaranthe. Note that prickly tear fruit will be often labeled as "tuna" instead of "fruta de nopal", because the color of the flesh of the fruit is almost the same as the color of raw tuna-fish used in sushi.
Good morning beautiful SoilSista ❤️
Thank you so much for this video! My colon is very happy now.
Don't worry, I did my own research too but this video definitely pointed me in the right direction.
Sending gratitude to you and your family.
I used to take slipplery elm before each time I ate. That was before I got diagnosed with crohn's disease. What really helped the most was stopping carbs and fiber. Now after taking Stelara I can eat fiber again!
I’m so grateful for your videos. Thank you so very much.
Love this. ❤️
Enjoyed every minute. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing about this herb! I am interested in building my own apothecary and your channel is very encouraging and packed full of information and useful for me to do so! Thank you for taking the time to pass along your knowledge! Now, time to order some Althaea Officinalis!
Your Grandmother is a lovely lady..so blessed to have her.
I use the slippery elm for stomach issues. I also found a recipe for barley and flax that helps with other issues. I will boil down a batch of barley and make ice cubes & take when needed for uti problems.
I got the recipe book from my natural path Dr. “The Ayurvedic cookbook”. You wash 1/4 cup of pearl barley (organic) bring 8 cups of h2o to boil, then simmer until liquid is reduced to 4 cups. Strain & drink. It takes a few hours to simmer down and that is why I make ice cubes because when your not feeling well who wants to wait around. I
usually drink a quarter cup at a time. It may make you run to the bathroom as well but I think when that happens I feel the infection has cleared out. Comments: excellent for inflamed bladder, throat, or gut, mucous colitis. To calm fever add 1 tbls sucanat or jaggery w/ tbls lemon or lime juice.I also make lemon & ginger ice cubes as well.
You’re Memere is adorable🌸 what a blessing to have her in your life and in your children’s lives!
Your Grandma is absolutely precious and sweet!!!❤❤❤😢
That is the nearest apothecary room , love all the space and drawers
Gonna go home to make some marshmallow infusion for work tomorrow 🙌🙌
I adore this video. I think it is so special for your grandma to be a part of your life and your videos and how she is learning from you. She's so sweet. And thank you from someone who has gut issues. I'll be sourcing this one since I tried to plant it this year and failed unfortunately. Thank you for sharing!
Your Grandmother is so sweet…you’re so Blessed to still have her in your world🤗😍❤️
🌿 These cabinets are something to aspire to! I thought I had a lot of teas, herbs & tinctures … Wow! 🤩
Can’t wait to try this. I think I may add lemon balm and honey to it. Sounds yum 😊

She's so sweet! I love her accent. 🥹 Best part of the video. Give her hugs for me.
What a blessing to have come across this channel 🎉
My elderly kitty is taking an herbal tincture which includes marshmallow root for kidney health. He was diagnosed with kidney issues and hyperthyroidism and I'm doing whatever I can naturally for him to give him the best quality of life possible. He reacted quite bad to the methimazole prescription and has many food and skin allergies so I'm wondering if putting some marshmallow root cold infusion would be even better for him to mix in his goat milk rather than the tincture I bought thru NHV. Anyone have any advice? Thank you and God bless you all!
Oh poor baby! What is the tincture made with?
@@TheHoneystead thanks for the quick reply🥰
Label says a proprietary blend of: stone root, parsley piert root, wild hydrangea root, echinacea purple root, marshmallow root, Oregon grape root, purified water and glycerin.
@@Alisha127uva ursi would totally help as well
Thank you very much. I have leaky gut and c diff. I appreciate you.
Thank you for sharing. I am going to give this a try. Huge stomach issues. Looking for ANYTHING to help.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU TEACH❤ WHERE DID YOU TAKE CLASSES IF YOU DONT MIND SHARING?
I started growing this marshmallow plant last year did not harvest any wanted get it going good. I also drink slippery elm tea gut health
Every time I see you and your grandma together I can't help but smile. Thank you for posting this, I've had stomach issues for years. Could you blend ginger or mint with it to drink or would that change the effect of the mallow root?
My dream is to have an apothecary very much like yours. I really could have used this infusion for my husband this week. He was really feeling sick this week.
Great timing for our family. My son was just diagnosed with inflamed lining to his stomach and abdomen. (Could be ulcer too) We spent a lot of money to run tests to rule out everything else.
I bought some Marshmellow root plants last year, I have dug it up, separated, and replanted it all over our homestead!
Thanks! Been using this as hot Tea, a week or so. Really helpful. Gonna let it sit over night and see If its any difference than hot Tea.
Great video. I find it tastes mildly like a radish. Not unpleasant. I love how soothing it makes my insides feel, and have noticed it soothes my rheumatoid arthritis and other body pains too. ❤
I love how you talk about people expecting immediate results/gratification…..so true. If we cut ourselves we know it will take time for the body to heal itself but in other situations like a headache, take a pill , and the headache is gone or less severe………but we have masked the results of the headache instead of getting to the root of illness and taking the time to let it heal. Love that Grandma is there, we do not respect our elderly like the Bible tells us to, we are a throw away society and always looking for the new, the old have great value and we know how to look for it. Getting some marshmallow from the health food store and then ordering the plants, thanks so much for your inspiration and knowledge.
I just suggested marshmallow root to my friend... So happy for this video 🙏🏾
It’s a lovely plant for sure!!!
My grandmother made her own cough and sore throat syrup. I do remember 4 of the 6 or 7 ingredients which are Honey, Lemon, ginger and garlic. The two I cannot remember for certain also made it where if you were congested in the chest or nose and were herbs or roots she processed. I was 8 years old whenbI saw her make it and I wished she would have lived long enough to teach all her remedies to me. Wish I could find out what those two were. She would make it up as soon as school started for the year and kept it in her special refrigerator w/ freezer that had all her home remedies and things that were onky to use when sick and for specific things.
I don't know why but I have always been weirded out from putting my herb in my tea after the water has been poured 😂 It's just something about the jostling of the herbs that tastes better to me!! Anyways, amazing video on Marshmallow and all her goodness! I like making a hair rinse with marshmallow!
Thank you for sharing. I can confirm that this is great for the gut and overall health. I take supplement 3 or 4 times a day when colitis kicks in. Within a few days everything gets back to normal. Ive learned alot about the foods to avoid that cause the colitis as well. But yes Marshmallow root is the best for gut health and restoring leaky gut. It also helps to eat sauerkraut and fermented foods when repairing leaky gut. The pre and probiotics. Thank you for sharing. I hope to grow some soon in the future.
I followed your recipe and added fresh ginger and honey to my cup, in hopes that it would calm my acid reflux. Tastes delicious!
I have been using marshmallow root powder and slippery elm powder with a little oatmeal for a couple years now...whenever my stomach acts up. It has changed my life! Not kidding. I drink a little fresh aloe only when my tummy acts up and I love that too.
Curious about whether it would help regulate motility. I’ve got some research to do 🥰
An herb I forgot to get today from my local herb shop! Can you make a video on how to make homemade marshmallows using marshmallow root?😊💖
We didn't get this way overnight, so we cant expect to get better overnight. Thank you for sharing your knowledge❤
How long does it last once strained and how often and long can you take it? You mentioned heartburn… my husband had it once in awhile and it would be nice to have on hand when he needs it. Thank you… you make it so easy to learn more about herbal medicine
Hi love your channel just found you a couple of weeks ago and am binge watching you lol I went online at Frontier’s website. Which did you purchase the powder or the cut and sifted? I can surely benefit from Marshmallow root. Thank you so much for what you do on this channel. I have become addicted to your channel you have made a great change for me in my life, with all your medicinal knowledge and information. God Bless your family and your homestead 🙏🏻♥️😘
I do believe in the video, she stated the cut and sifted; you're better off getting the cut and sifted, because it will have a longer shelf life then powder; you can always buy a coffe grinder and powder it yourself if need be;
How do you know it’s time to pull the marshmallow plants out and cut up the roots for harvest?
Quart of filtered water 1 oz marshmallow root. Digestive health. Cold infusion soak at least 1 hr
Thank you i have enough marshmallow plants to dig up some roots. 2nd year growth 😁
