Amazing detail on the Kenka Yotsu variation of Tai Otoshi, specially with the hip/butt bump. It's like you are owning your uke's position, using your body as an element of kuzushi. Last variation is good too but spinning techniques are too flashy for me and is not my cup of tea. It is amazing that you also explained the possible renrakuwazas for this.
I know in judo grips are a big focus, is there. As a wrestler fresh to judo is there anytime you would recommend or prefer an underhook to a lapel grip for instance?
I am confused, I learnt tai otoshi as a kid but it wasn't like this, you circled to Uke's back and did the same thing (albeit I remember thrower's leg position was less prone to injury, more structured, like a horse stance) but he falls backwards, I am pretty sure I've seen that trip in Judo too but if it isn't Tai Otoshi can anyone tell me how it's called?
@@cahallo5964 I'm clueless then, personally never seen or heard of it before. I guess you could always sift through the kodokan technique demo videos until you find it? might take a while though haha
Hey Shintaro great video! Can you please do a video on Judo defence against dirty boxing (basically a single collar tie and throwing punches) and a Judo defence against the muay thai clich (basically a double collar tie while throwing knees). Thankyou.
@@cahallo5964 Yup, a dirty uchi is the way. Or if he tries to knee you with the Muay Thai clinch, then block it with your hands and De Ashi Barai as he brings the foot down.
@@ivanivanovic5857 hard to sweep thai dudes they kinda specialise on not getting swept but they don't do hip throws cuz they are illegal in their ruleset. Boxers yeah you can kinda do whatever to them they are awful grapplers just get a standing arm triangle and go for a big haraigoshi

Great details! Now add the Jujutsu variations, and the set is complete 👍. Thank you!
Awesome, as usual. Stay safe on the mat, everyone !
I'm a PT and I'll tell you: he's right. The most important thing will be being aware and protecting yourself.
These videos are just amazing!
Damn! Those spinning versions are neat - going to try those out. Thank you - OSSS!

I assume you are right-handed. Right side underhook and left side wrist grab or left side tricep control.
Having done both Judo and Luta Livre, I'd say that regardless of the size of your opponent, you're better off with double underhooks.
3:26 very nice move
Ill give up my ankle versus my knee every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Sounds a lot like taNi otoshi. can't blame you for the confusion though, it's literally a one letter difference
@@Benedank kinda but you stay standing

Sounds like what you described is an Osoto Otoshi.
@@yunshen it looks like that osoto otoshi but both uke and thrower are looking the same way instead of opoosite
Back from a stroke that fast?!
Nice and simple, huh?
Pls korean sub....
