It warms my heart that my pos 1996 geo tracker is more off-road capable than that $125,000 dollar liability.
Same for my 21,500$ (in 2003 money) S10 Zr2 is more capable then that lol
This comment made me laugh hard cause how true it is.
And in 10 yrs the Tracker will still be running, the Hummer will need a $60,000 battery.
So could my old Dodge Ram 50 4wd aka Mitsubishi pick up without breaking a sweat.
and has a smaller carbon footprint.... in fact yours has been carbon nuetral for years now
So the 4WD works great - as long as you don't take it off road. Brilliant.
It works until you pull it out of the dealership 💀
Also snow and rain is a no go
Works excellent at mall parking lots.

The dealer is going to blame you for not having factory tires on 😂
GM: "Yeah, you guys put bigger tires on it, your warranty is now voided"
Gm be like: "yeah it looks like you were driving your vehicle which caused it to break, so it's not going to be covered"
They possibly could although they have to prove the tire size increase caused the issue but i work for GM here in Canada and we typically would not see this as an issue . Your warranty isnt void if you tow a trailer nor increasing the tire size but not all dealerships are created equal or the district service managers that say what is warranty and what is not . Lift kits are an issue though and a harder mountain to climb , excuse the pun , when fighting for warranty . The higher the lift the bigger the denial , here in Canada a customer bought a brand new truck with a Rough Country 6 inch lift installed from a dealer then rolled the truck killing him , family is suing GM , the dealer and Rough Country . Not sure what the outcome was but dealers , if they want GM backing , have stopped installing lift kits on new trucks ..
@@waynesbutler7834 yeah, I was more so joking cause EVs are essentially giant PCs on wheels, and if you modify a PC in any way it voids the warranty lol
@@AFellowDoktuh Dont mean to bother but you are exactly right . Cars are giant PCs and they can be hacked and are as the cases of cars disappearing from peoples drive ways increase . There’s another serious issue: while the guy was examining the hummer from underneath, the suspension starting lowering by itself! Imagine working underneath the hummer without a proper lift 😬 (start the video from the 2 minute mark to see what I’m talking about)
to be fair, you probably should never work under any vehicle without a lift un less everything's off

A Cadillac that didn’t have an algebraic or alphanumeric name?
Reminder: GM killed their EV-1 program, sold ALL of their battery technology to Texaco… (who then shelved it) and used the sale of that tech to invest in Hummer H2 production. The 7-9mpg douche-mobile.
Pretty common for a slow burn failure to cause this. System sees something out of parameters in a certain scenario, clears itself after enough time, rinse and repeat. Sometimes it's nothing, sometimes it's a deterioration that will leave you stranded with enough time. I'd still talk to the dealer and have them pull the logs using a time stamp from when it happened.
My experience with GM and their engineers are that they really don't care. My supercruise quit working 5 months ago and despite having dash cam footage of the car attempting to swerve me off the road, into other cars, or into concrete walls on the highway GM shrugged it off. Sent out an engineer that had never worked on a supercruise system and I'm here now with a car that seemingly can't be fixed. I would love to see follow up with your experience with these issues you're having with this thing.
This vehicle sure takes the fun out of off-roading.

As I watched, I wondered why the owners manual was not discussed about what to do when the ride shut down, and what it said about operating the vehicle in a way to avoid shut down.
You probably can't fix it without internet wi fi.

@@Tapout121 Because since they do not have full electric versions only ICE & mild-hybrids in best cases so, they don't feature over-the air software up-dates like BEV's ?
GM is famous for having poor quality electronics. This is a bigger issue when the vehicle drive system is electronic.
I'd take my 90s GM truck over most vehicles out there, I drive a 99 GMC Suburban, not too of a bad truck, but its went threw a transfer case, rear end makes noise, has a collapsed lifter, it suffers from piston slap on cold starts, sounds like a rod wants to let go for about 5 min when its below freezing, nearly 400k miles on it so whatever. Hell I had to change a starter out on a 2018 silverado last week, it was just plain jane starter, not the start stop starter, and it was $300, Had the plesure of changing out a fuel pump on a 2020 Ram 2500 with 50k miles on it, things like that just shouldn't happen with new shit.
since it breaks so often its at least nice of it to email you. A+
I think you should take it back to the dealer before resetting the battery. Resetting the battery may clear the logs of what is going wrong making the technicians job of diagnosing the problem much harder. They need to see the error codes before they are cleared. Just a thought.
The Hummer EV was just a toy for Marketing PR, it was never intended to be a vehicle used as a vehicle… Case in Point, Crab Walk…
I do appreciate the transparency of your experience and would love to hear GM’s response and if any other owners have experienced this what appears to be “normal” use…

Buying an electric GM vehicle is basically like that scene in the dark knight, when the Joker burns a mountain of cash just because he can.
At the end of the day I don't trust it not to leave anyone stranded. Even if people had the money for it and most don't, it looks more like a gadget then a tool. A tool works, a gadget breaks.

Just a side note to think of. Techs remotely could of sent a patch/restart when they get alerted. Like me with Computers I manage 400 machines. I know of an issue before the end user does. It's a shame because it's so ugly and childish that it's too embarrassing to drive within civilisation.
I guess they should all just be painted green and be dumped in the ocean now, instead of later.
@@pistonburner6448 This is a failure, imo. Bet it gets discontinued after a couple more years.
Though this is a failure, keep in mind that this is the first commercially available off-road EV. It could (and should) have been done better, but it’s rare to get something right on the first try. Hopefully in 5 years other companies learn from these flaws.
Nobody saw that coming? 9,000 lb? General Motors?
I think it's going to take a battery tech breakthrough so we can have these EVs meet the bar already set by ICE.

I would look at the ride height sensors if your off-road and you flex too much, the sensor will think it’s out of range!f Failed, and then it goes into limp home mode. I would tested it by unhooking the sensor from the suspension and move it all the way up all the way down and see if that’s the exact same problem.
Nice to know that GM is doing great research and development.
Its an Alpha product. Just like gasoline cars didn't peak with the Ford Model A.
@Marco Chavanne granted that it's the first one released but to call it an alpha makes it sound like a test vehicle. GM wouldn't sell test vehicles without a load of disclaimers set up by their legal department. And they certainly wouldn't sell it for $125k.

My point is that it isn't the technology, it's the design and the quality. Mechanical components can be and often are extremely unreliable, complicated and expensive to fix.
Roman held it together better than I would. If I spent the money for that thing, I would have gone ballistic
I would be willing to bet he did... before, during, and after... it just wasn't edited in.
When I watch this it makes me grateful for my 2014 Subaru Outback.
I have a 2018 Forester XT that’s never needed service.
imagine getting out wheeled by a lifted CR-V with a amazon roof rack.
I bet the CEO made over 50 million dollars for failure. The american way.
Government Motors way.
Serve the Chinese, serve yourself, screw everyone else...and don't think about how that will come back to bite your children in the ass. And land you in hell.
Is it failure if it sells out?
@@davec.3198 Garbage Motors Way.
@@hardtech1 yes it is still a failure if they sell out and none of them work

love your vids! I get a giggle knowing my old $1000 1985 GMC K10 is as capable and has much less problems as your $125K fart barge!
One of the doctors I work with bought one and has had a ton of trouble with both the air ride and 4 wheel drive system. One of the radiologist bought a Ram TRX about 2 month before and the doctor said his Hummer would destroy it. He hasn’t even been able to take it off road yet, but the TRX smoked it in an on road drag race. The Hummer is nothing but a waste of money unless the only thing you plan to do is drive to the mall or Walmart.
I’d be more surprised if it had no issues. That truck went from development to release waaay too fast to inspire any confidence. They wanted to be first to market and the customers are paying the price.
At $100k
@@usualsuspectexterminator8617And after seeing this who would want to risk their hard earned money on that!
Wow Roman from all the summary experiences you have had all negative you should not recommend none of GM's Hummer, is Rivian making a superior Off Road worthy pickup truck than GM's Hummer? It surely seems that way! Would love to see a Rivian pickup truck go through the same tough course! Thanks for your Excellent and honest reviews being up front telling the truth!!
How long do you think this thing is going to last in years
before it is going to have to be scraped?

A lot of the time the rear recovery rings that hang down will save you from scratching your hitch receiver or your bumper. It's a lot easier and cheaper to replace the recovery rings than it is to replace the hitch or re-paint a bumper.
If you're worried about scratching recovery shackles you shouldn't be off road!
Is the added tingle an advertised feature ?
looks like your tyre pressure is a bit high. Watching Matt's Off-Road Recovery Channel, he says, he usually goes through most obstacles, whether sand, rocks, ledges etc., WITH ONLY 9 lbs. PSI of pressure. Your ride height/clearance will be less but grip is much better in all terrains.
😃
Tire pressure has to be high. It weighs 9000 pounds.
At least your hummer does one thing well, it beeps very nicely with different tones! 😉
Love the videos, they keep reminding me why I bought the super reliable old school 4runner.
My 2007 accord v6 is the best vehicle I've ever owned and I don't know why I'd sell it if I can't even get another v6 that isn't more complex without paying 35 grand before sales tax at Toyota. I paid 3k for mine in pandemic and that was clearly undervalued. I think it's worth 9,999 but people think I'm crazy for saying it. They say it's worth 5k now but I think thats too low. A new corolla after an option or two and sales tax costs like 25k and it's a 1.8L 4 cylinder. My old accord seems more reliable, v6. So bigger smoother engine straining less to go faster all for a 5x less cost? Seems to me like my car is half undervalued. I can't believe I paid 3k. I would pay 10k for the same car in this market. Worth it. Best car ever. Probably going on another road trip soon haha! Honda doesn't make a v6 anymore. Only 2L turbo. Wears out quicker too I bet. Thats why my old car goes up in value and new cars go down. Honda should go back to the good old days
Such a cool vehicle unfortunately RUclipsrs keep sleeping on it. I wish we get to see more videos showcasing its offroad capabilities. Yeah the software is a bit buggy but it shouldve been fixed by now right?
