Recently found your videos. Am planning a PCT hike in 22. Had 2020 permit but due to covid just did walker pass to Truckee. Hope you are enjoying Austin, moved there in1977. I also hiked the AT in 2018 February 24 to July 23 maybe we crossed paths....

Yikes - a coiled rattler just outside your tent near your head? That’s scary!

I don’t understand how you get a box. I really enjoyed this video. Best wishes for your future and your jobs. I will be watching for your updates. You two are a beautiful wonderful couple. ❤️🙏☮️ Happy Thanksgiving 🍁

Getting a box is basically just mailing yourself food and whatever extra stuff you might need to a town you're going to be going through.

I didn't vlog on the Appalachian Trail unfortunately so I don't have any videos, just pictures.

How did you guys like the X-Mid tent ,I bought 1 and I've only used it on a 5 day hike with a ground trap. Do you recommend a ground trap or is the bottom of the X-Mid sufficient, thx 🏕

We loved the X-mid for 2 people. We did have some issues with a trekking pole tent popping through one of the grommets on the peak so I would recommend flipping your trekking poles where the handle side is up and all of the zippers failed on the net tent and rain fly, but that is to be somewhat expected on a thru-hike. I personally do not believe you need a ground tarp, just make sure you're able to clear your campsite of pokey stuff if at all possible before setting everything up. I did not use a ground sheet on the Appalachian Trail nor the Pacific Crest Trail.
