Many Many Thanks
I was/am the founder, leader, guitarist and one of three vocalists in The Gentrys. I sang this song "Keep On Dancin' "when I was 17. It was a number 4 hit record in September 1965. I am still performing and singing it today. I and all The Gentrys are honored and appreciate so much, your making our hit the soundtrack for this monumental, fun video. MOST OF ALL EVERYONE FROM HOLLYWOOD TO HOME LAND KEEP ON DANCIN' !!!
It was an honor and a privilege to make a video of this great classic from 1965. I'm so thrilled that you and your band enjoyed the video. The Gentrys still rock!!!
Larry, I saw you with the Raspberrys at the VCU GYM in 1975 in Richmond,Va. You guys blew the roof off....one of the best shows I ever saw!!!!!!!
This is such a great record I had to look it up after Jimmy Hart talk about it on that WWE Network.
I read a long time ago that this song was cowritten with Mouth of the South Jimmy Hart. Any truth to that?
I loved it! Great job!
This clip showcases basically the who's who of the 60's, magnificent
Anytime I want to shake off a bad day... I come here.
Who’s here in 2024
Saved this on my FB page....still luv it! Herman Munster dancing at the end of this video is priceless!

RIP Mary Tyler Moore. Brought us such joy in everything she did.
So did Patty Duke, Joyce Jameson, Fred Gwynne, and all the others who gave us such great tv memories growing up in the never-dull 1960s!
Whoever put this together, it's OUTSTANDING! I watched all those shows when I was a kid.
I know. I nearly cried when I saw Gilligan's island 🤣
Me too.
Herman Munster get me everytime.
😂
@@gregorykiernan7849 And then he went on to be the judge in "My Cousin Vinny" LOLOL! Great actor!
I saw a lot of them on 'Nick at Night'. Good memories.
I remember dancing to this song holding a pack of cigarettes size transistor radio to my ear in the backyard of our Long Beach, Calif home. 1965. Awesome time, glad i lived it.
Patty Duke,Gidget and Ginger. Cool compilation.
Wasn't The wrestling manager, Jimmy Hart in this band? I have this 45...goodtimes as a kid pretending I was a DJ. Thanks for my taste in music DAD! R.I.P. I miss you
I remember ALL of these very fondly.I would like to go back!!! WE live in a sewer anymore.
That's why I love RUclips! We can always go back in time and enjoy the great music and shows.
I want to go back too! better times!
I remember this song!! My mom would play this at every party when I was little!!
LOVE IT !! 1960S WOW WE HAD GREAT SHOWS & GREAT MUSIC !
You really picked the cream of the crop in TV shows. Aces ALL!
This is an incredibly well done happy video. The author spent a lot of time compiling all of the various clips from lots of different old television shows, and it is a FUN video!! Thanks to the author for the hard work and sharing your work with everyone. This definitely puts a smile on your face!!
I remember this song, I was a little girl, loved it then, love it now in 2022 trying to introduce this music to my granddaughters who are 9 and 2. They dance with me and laugh at/dance with me. We have fun. Thanks!
Yea, this definitely put a smile on my 70 yr old face!!
Back when TV was fun!
With all its turmoil in the late 60s. The 60s was still the most coolest decade I have witnessed. And I got to see the late 50s and all of the 60s. Both decades had cool cars and the best music. By the late 70s music was going down hill with the introduction of Disco.
Lived it too. Agree100
Glad i was born in those days the 60s and 70s had the best rock n roll and country in my opinion
50s-70s Best music and coolest cars in history.
Agree!
Don't forget the foundation of Rock and Roll, the 50s
I remember the 60's but was too young to have adult fun, the only problem about being a young adult at that time was Vietnam.
It was an honor to be alive and young in those decades. We had something special.
Absolutely beautiful compilation set to an awesome song!!!🥰🥰🥰
Keep on, dancin' in a frying pan...😅😅😅
2022 best video put together, keep on goin back to this an playing this.happy times trust me.👌👌👌👌
I love the compilation video...man, what a trip down memory lane.
I've known this song almost all my life. Had no clue Jimmy Hart was the lead vocalist.
He wasn't the lead vocalist but he was in the group and did sing on this. Larry Raspberry was the lead vocalist
You can see Jimmy Hart on the right next to Larry in this performance ruclips.net/video/an5V7-va_VI/видео.html
GREAT VIDEO !!! FYI THAT'S GRANNY DOING THE "TATTER DIGGER" AND IT LOOKS LIKE MR ED IS JUST HORSIN AROUND.
It’s the best!
I still listen to the 60s and 70s. The best!
Probably the best compilation of 60's tv sitcoms I have ever seen and to top it off with a great soundtrack by the Gentrys!
Cheers!
Nicely done. that brought a much needed smile to my face.
Jimmy "the mouth of the South" Hart WWE manager formed the Gentrys
Jimmy was also responsible for so many of the wrestling themes us 80s kids are nostalgic for. Such an underrated musician.
this right here is a fun fact.
That's what brought me here I just found out and had to you tube it
Without a doubt
one of the best videos on RUclips! So happy and fun. Thank you for putting this together!
Lol my favorite comedy sitcom of all time Get Smart lol.
This is right up there with Big Bird singing Bird Is The Word!
Thanks for the smiles!
Best of times, we danced away bad times !
BARBARA EDEN=BEAUTIFUL PERFECTION
When music and times were great, fun and innocent.
God, I miss those days.
It is all back in a huge way.. There are tons of great new classic rock, oldies, neo-soul, psychedelic, everything.. Looks like the kids are sick of shitholer "music" and decided to rock instead!
yep the Cold War was a gas boomertard. Nothing like US & Soviet Union just a hair trigger away from nuclear war & total end of the planet. And just in case you missed it the Vietnam War was moar fun. And helter skelter with the Charlie Manson family as they hacked & slashed to the beat of the times. Which included anti war movement & student protest across the nation including National Guard using the student body of Kent State for target practice. Nevermid political assasinations like JFK,MlK and RFK and George Wallace. And to top it off Watergate and 'I'm not a crook' tricky Dick Nixon.
@@fluffy1931
But m-muh perfect, non-violent childhood. These dang kids and their iPods don't play outside anymore. And the hip-hop music.
Me too.

One of the singers is legendary wrestling manager The Mouth Of The South Jimmy Hart
Imagine being physically fit all because of dancing and a prancing!!! Absolutely fun!!!
thats how it was back then Charlene, you would have just adored it
i think i can i think i can!!
That would be me. At age 72, I am still killing it out on the dance floor.
Way cool Charlene 😊
If I had an apartment/home where I could dance without anyone else hearing it, I would be dancing and a-prancing all the time!
Great video! RIP to all those that have passed from this by gone era.
The TV mix here is incredibly impressive & wonderful. I watched those shows as a kid & imbibed the fun & silly aspect of the 60s that too few remember. Perfect video to accompany a classic song. You really made this into a gift. Thanks so much.
How cool is this.... Fun and on target!
AWESOME dance clips
That was thoroughly entertaining!
Right? took me back to when I was a kid.
Have always loved this song! This is one fabulous video!! Talk about a blast from the past! Very well put together. Love seeing David McCallum in the rock band! Thank you for this vid!

Jake Blues: Rock on
"Keep on Dancing" by The Gentrys
To think that one of the lead vocalists of this band, Jimmy Hart, would become one of the most iconic and legendary managers in professional wrestling is amazing.
That's how I even heard of this band/song. Good stuff!
Lol … after 10 minutes of him being an ass at ringside and the wrestler finally got him by the neck tie, punched him and sent him flying off the ring… funniest bit in wrestling… LMAO…
Back when European Americans were smart, thin, healthy and happy.
Notice how smoothy Dick Van Dyke moves at :30. He did a lot of stage dancing and it shows. Great video. thanks for making it.
larry
whats amazing is that he was likely so drunk it was amazing he could still stand much less dance
@@LtBrown1956 He's in his late 90s now and still dancing. He's on YT.
So coooool yeeeee ye ye ye yeee :))))
Rock and roll will make you rant and rave, it’s the truth......
Over 5 million views and i don't think one negative comment. Keep it going peeps! ❤👍🎵
Hell yeah! Gotta love this song
Made me smile from about 1 second in. till the end of the video.
Barbara Feldon and Carolyn Jones (in this vid) -- Two women who'll always be hot to me.
loved Barbara's skirt
Absolutely love this!
Yes I love you r songs thank you very much
The Gentrys were an awesome kind of group. Love to dance to their music..
The 60s we're a time of very infectious music.
Damn Good Video probably the best Music Video on RUclips!!
That is not speaking lightly, music is my passion I come to listen more than I come to watch. If all Videos were as good as yours I could say that anymore.
How in the Hell did you get access to all those Classics, And to remember each one of those shows had a boooggie Woogie segment...Unreal
WOW. Fab compilation. Absolutely love this.
The first song I listened to on WLS radio
Mary Tyler Moore was the hottest thing on TV in those days.
Totally agree. Gorgeous 😍
Psssshhhh 1960's Mary Tyler Moore is probably the hottest thing to ever grace television period.
Well.......I dream of Jeannie and Ellie May....Wonder Woman and Jacqueline Smith
@@780specialif you like horse faces

Even at age 30 in 2019 this is great to dance to
If Agent 99 was dancing around me like that, my head would have exploded.
Old is gold keep the faith KTF 🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏party time
Another great Memphis band! Yeh, that's us too!🕺
Thank you so much for posting this.. Such fond memories of this song and all the clips of the shows of our era of the 60's-70's. :)
Excellent clip! I love it! Brings back memories when tv and music was fun.
They forgot "Hogan's Heroes"- like Hogan dancing with Fraulein Helga, or LeBeau dancing with Tiger Lilly.
Love IT!!
Love it! I just searched the song and this is the video that came up. Morticia and Lurch are my favorite
Hell yeah "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart as the main vocalist, can't believe he went on to become one of the greatest wrestling managers of all time after this.
Jimmy Hart was a backup singer, Larry Raspberry was the lead guitar and lead vocals. They all went to my school. Treadwell High School in Memphis, TN and graduated in 1965. They had this hit before they graduated.
Robert McGee Yes but he's the only that is still relevant
@@andrewft31
He hasnt been relevant since the fucking 80's dick-breath
@@robertmcgee5717 wow. I did not know that😨☺ Im not a wrestling fan but my husband and son used to watch it all the time so I knew who Hart is but didn't know he was a singer. Thanks for sharing 👍☺. I learn something new everyday 👍
Jimmy Hart also wrote a lot of pro wrestlers entrance music.
I love this 1965 song "Keep on Dancing" because of its rhythm.
The video throws me back to 1965.
This is one of my all-time favorites. I love that part where it just stops. I danced to this song at my sister's wedding.
*****
I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.
That had to be fun 😃
Actually the song was too short and the producers wanted more so they added the last part ..That's why the stop occurs but it turned out to make the song even more enjoyable.
What amasterpiece.
Really fun video 😍
What a GREAT vid you put together - perfect! This was a great song to do the Pony to!!
Jimmy Hart, the “Mouth of the South,” is the lead singer of the Gentry’s.
Lol … after 10 minutes of him being an ass at ringside and the wrestler finally got him by the neck tie, punched him and sent him flying off the ring… funniest bit in wrestling… LMAO…
Damn we sure had some fun
A great song to a bunch of great memories….the great times!
Funny , Fred Guinn (Herman) shaking the pictures on the wall !
Applaud the great effort that must have been involved in this overall production. It's pretty cool. Nice job!
Love This One!! LISTENING IN 2019!!
Yup!
👍👏♥️
So , So fun😀
Rest in peace, Patty Duke (0:34). You were so sweet and funny, thanks for the smiles.
Beverly hillbillies
Eddie Applegate ("Richard Harrison") playing her boyfriend on the show, passed away at 81 before the end of 2016, a few months after both Patty and her tv father, William Schallert, who died 6 weeks after Patty (Mar. 29) on May 8, 2016. Jean Byron (the mom) died a few years earlier, so now Paul O'Keefe ("Ross", Patty's little brother on the show) is the sole remaining actor alive from the nucleus of that family. He is now 67 (Apr. 1951 birth).
Only if I had a 😍Time Machine😍 Any bodywant come back and live back then?
Such happy happy times take me back plz 😘
What a midsection GINGER!
Can't imagine how much time it took to put this together. A+++
Great...this was the USA of my youth that is now gone and never to return!
Don't make me cry
It was the real America.
One of my grandma fav song before she passed away it hurts to sing and hear but I like it because of her 😥
so cool
99 has some moves. Go, baby!
This is SOOOOOO dam greater than todays shit!
Exactly...todays sh!t! I was born in the late 50s, the 60s were a great time for a kid growing up. Great Music, cars. Mini skirts in the late 60s. No car jackings, kids played outside, we could shoot our BB guns in public parks or on front lawns, walked to the store without worrying about being robbed. People left car windows or tops down all night, could leave car windows down when going to do grocery shopping.
This... is a work of art. Bellissimo!
Just when I thought it could not get any better, you go and throw Herman freakin' Munster at me?! You brilliant SOBs! Whoever is responsible for this masterpiece, I salute your genius.
I've loved this song since I was a kid, but only in the last two years did I find out this was Jimmy Hart's band. As a wrestling fan, this blew my mind. Did I hear it correctly that he was normally the lead singer of the band, but that for some reason, he sang back up on this and it was their only real hit?
I just watched the Wrestling Bios (great channel btw) on Jimmy Hart and had to come remind myself what “Keep on Dancing” sounded like.
Bunch of Memphis Boys ...
Larry Raspberry is your singer here 👍🏼
nice job
REMEBRANCE OF THE 60'S 18TH STREET CHICAGO, WOLF CITY LOBOS, RANGER, LISA (PATCHES I STILL LOVE YOU.
When Men were Men, and Women were glad of it.
and conservatives like you called them decadent and degenerate for dancing and listening to this sort of music... the irony is thick.
Not only that, a man of the period then would be considered a prude by today's standard.
Rest In Peace Patty Duke
& MTM
and Fred Gwynne and Joyce Jameson et al
Hot80s in
Joyce Jameson is in it twice!
Brideless Groom: On The Andy Griffith Show ("Skippy", one of the Fun Girls) near the start, and then at the end with Fred Gwynne ("Herman Munster"). She was only 54 when she committed suicide in Jan. 1987. She was a scream, and I hope more people recognize how funny and great she was as a comedic actress.
Every time I watch this it's all I can do to keep from falling out of my chair laughing! This is so great; so many great memories. Ahhh, the Golden Age of TV...and music!
Julie Newmar...such a talented graceful curvacious babydoll XO
I love it!!!!!!!!!!! The vids are great!!!!!
