In the early 60's, we would go to a local amusement park. Friday night was coke a COLA night and we take our bottle caps to pay for the rides. There as a famous ballroom when the big bands would play there but in the 60's rock n roll bands played. I was in my preteens then and this band would play Hang On Sloopy they were The McCoys. The dance craze was the STOMP. Packed ballroom stomping to the beat of Hang On Sloopy. Best time of my life.

I've tried to live life as it comes--74 now. I didn't want to sound like my parents living in the forties all the time. But when I watched this today, I got the first feeling that it was much better then and that I would give anything to be there. That's when they stopped making music.
Where in Scotland? I'm just curious because that is one of the places I have wanted to visit my whole life because supposedly that's where my family originated. There and Ireland. Good Music never dies
This is music from another galaxy ❤
I remember these songs from the 60ties and the 50ties ,these were the best years to live in, the music was great and so we're people back then. These songs bring back so many good memories for me. Would I go back to these days if I could? YES,!!! ♥️
Born 1949 Curtis ,great time to grow up
To the 60's and 70's, to be safe and secure within my family and the wonderful music which surrounded my Beatles childhood.😍
Nah, the 70s were the best years to live .... or, and so true, the years a person was between 16 and 32 were the best of times to be alive.

Children were seen but not heard.
Pediphiles got away with everything because children were thought to have overactive imagination
It was in the UK chatting in 1962
What a great era....if you notice...all dressed so well...and no lard bodies
Because sugar wasn't in god damn everything
No fat no tatts
@@corntastrophy - And CANE SUGAR was used in soft drinks AND NOT HUGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP!! Everyone drank Coke, etc. then. But as we know, cane sugar is more expensive.
@@robertbullock9554 your body processes all sugar the same, it's just high fructose corn syrup is the cheapest and unhealthiest. cane sugar soda does taste good though
@@corntastrophy -Thank you...but no one questions that and it's not really a triviality...a corollary (no pun intended) to important issues of the day.
Are you talking about Idora Park?

Anyone noticing their dress attire not like today’s we always dressed up for dances or parties
I'm 73 now and the only music I can listen to is from the 60s what a fantastic decade.i watch and listen and remember the great times when everyone was well dressed without studs in their faces and other crap , what a great country it was then, miss it so much all the best to all the 60s people enjoy remembering the fantastic days
I`m 65 and I miss those time, wonderful songs and the time was happy and good 👍👍👍
I've tried to live life as it comes--74 now. I didn't want to sound like my parents living in the forties all the time. But when I watched this today, I got the first feeling that it was much better then and that I would give anything to be there. Anywhere other than where we've wound up with all the technology, rap un-music, entitled people, millennials, outspoken idiots, etc. I haven't bought an album since the 80s. That's when they stopped making music.
ONLY WAY TO RETURN TO THE JOYS OF THE 60S IS TO VOTE FOR NAZI DONALG. WHOOPS! WRONG DECADE
I remember this song when i was at enfant school i loved it so much,im nearly 63 now
BTW; there were a few good tunes released after 1970
Wow! These guys really knew how to dance back in the day. Not just trying to air h#@p you on the dance floor!!
Not blowing my own horn but I could knock a few moves back in the day Irene Lol best wishes from Bonny Scotland 🏴

Where in Scotland? I'm just curious because that is one of the places I have wanted to visit my whole life because supposedly that's where my family originated. There and Ireland. I have no family here anymore. They are all gone hopefully to a better place! I danced a lot back in the day as well but not so much anymore. If I would have known that I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself! 🙃 It is funny because it's true.
@@irenecarhart I am from a Scots/Irish family,my grandfather moved here as he was on the run,he was to be executed by firing squad,my grandfather was fighting the British after they burnt the family farm down looking for weapons (that were not there) sadly this activity by British forces made young lads in Ireland join the IRA in the late part of the 20th century. My grandfather told me he had to fight back in some way at the family having the farm burnt down,I can't argue with that...I felt really sad when you said you had no family...tell you what Irene, after a recent car accident I prob will be joining you up in the great dancehall in the sky my family is your family and I hope youl have that dance with me..ps the place in Scotland where I was brought up is a little town called Falkirk....best wishes Sean
@@stilllaughing3959 Thank you! You're very sweet. If you don't mind me asking what happened? Are you okay?
We might be old but we had a great time getting here!!!!!
Agreed.
tippimail1 Here Here, Good 4 You M8.
Hell, I'm not old ... just uhh ... mature ;)
didn't we though. i'm 70 and my girls love to dance with me. jive, waltz, chalipso, pony. we have a great time at weddings, just not enough places to dance anymore.
Aint that the truth---drugs,rock&roll (the very very best of the 50-60's) & seeing our world change. We survived
Why can't people dress like that anymore? Look at all the beautyful skirts, the shoes, the suits. Even the hair on these folks is just perfect. Nowadays it's just shorts and cheap t-shirts..
I agree! Now people wear shorts and flip flops to restaurants. Before everything was formal
Because these days morons think that wearing pants below their ass even with a belt on is logical.
get up and MOVE YOUR FEET !
U can't beat the good old days of the SIXTIES, I was ROCKING AND ROLLING EVERY NIGHT THERE WILL NEVER BE ANYTHING TO BEAT IT, FANTASTIC 😅👍💟
for sure xx
And no weight problems or need for the gymn.
🎶🎶🎶🎶💃😉🎼 and still miss those days. It was fun while it lasted!
The music we had back in the sixties was absolutely phenomenal. It had the right beat, the right words, and it made you want to dance and boy did we. Gee, wonder if I could still make some of those moves today? LOL LOL
About 1:28 the young lady in the white top and dark skirt was definitely the queen of the ball. What a cutie. Great dancer, a pleasure to watch. I hope she is still alive and well with a house full grand kids and great grand kids. Those were great times...
Haha…I thought the same thing! She has the right rhythm all the way through. 🥳
Agree!!!
Definitely the babe of the ball. Best dancer by far
I wish there was a club where we could dance like this all night.
Those girls with the perfect hair and in a sweater dress just look so amazing even today' Dancin NOT twerkin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We spent a lot of time curling (on rollers), "teasing" (backcombing), and SPRAYING our hair back then...the goal was to have it NOT MOVE! Lol
Aww, twerking's been around for a looooong time; people called it bump 'n' grind.
@@splenderella9 Yes - could often see a blonde with beehive hair and room enough in it to park a birdcage, put a bird in it :D (saw pictures of that back when, for fashion shows no doubt).
