Whether she has arms or not, it's just a theory...calm down guys😉
A film theory!!!!
@10,000 Subscribers With 0 Videos Challenge That's great. He's just hypothetically speaking about her not having arms. At the end of the video, he said that it could be complete bs. Lol.
shakia white true true
It’s just a theory A game theory
Dafuq is that weird emoji you got there😂
Maybe she doesn’t have arms because she discovered combustion bending, rather than the opposite.
For example, combustion man had a prosthetic arm and leg after being injured from combustion bending.
That really makes sense.
That actually makes sense.
That kinda makes sense.
I was thinking exactly that the moment he mentioned it. Makes sense that the very first person to discover it, had a little whoopsy on the way XD
She has arms... if you look closely you can see her hands
I feel like these recent videos are a cry to have a general avatar book going through the small details for each avatar
Or a cry for: give us more new content, not a retread!
@@AntoineBandele I cant really argue with you there, its what i want afterall
i think we need to learn more about the other avatars we don't know about instead of the main ones
Or having the original creators and actors do book 4 air...
I'd like to have both, about the avatars we already know and other avatars. They say there are a thousand (although I don't know how, if it's been only 10,000 years of the cycle), so there's a lot to explore there.
Yall talk about her but the dude behind her was a straight up firelord. He has the firelord crown
so I wasn't seeing things...
@@KittuPaladin at 4:47 you can see another firelord in the top left corner too
And Korra is basically a princess
I bet he was one of the strongest Avatars. Atleast in his own element. Fire Lord AND Avatar? That probably said a lot back then
I noticed that too. I was looking to see if other people also saw it
Even if it is a drawing error or she does have arms, I think that the catalyst for combustion bending, being someone who wouldn’t be able to bend otherwise (having no arms) would make a lot of sense.
Her: *is the first combustion bender*
Roku: *Lava bends*
Szeto: Am I a joke to you?
Szeto: bureaucracy bending
Roku can't lava bend because if he could he would of bend the lava from the volcano before he died

@@asilahsbs6477 Roku's temple is made of LAVA
2:48 are we not going to talk about the fact that the fire-bending avatar behind her to the right is wearing the crown of the Firelord's?
I just notices that
Thanks
Zuko got know a lot of avatars
and?
@@jerryjustice5021 🙄
I don’t agree with her being royalty necessarily, because roku has the crown of the crown prince yet he isn’t royalty. Of course we know why but maybe a similar thing happened with her and we know a lot of fire nation citizens have things like that in their hair.
Roku's was a very rare and probably unique case. It was shown in Roku's reaction to him receiving it, that indicates this probably never happened before.
Mando Maul good thinking but we know avatar szeto was very close with royalty and high up there so chances are it could have happened with him to. His surprise could indicate that or it could just be rokubwas surprised because it is a royal artifact and belongs to that person and was a treasure the to nation and not cause its rare. Also we have seen just about every position of fire nation royalty and none of which wore that hair price which can lead us to belive that means nothing as for most fire nation citizens have some form of fire nation crown or emblem in their hair or have a fire nation like hat thing.
I think it was zuko's daughter who said that before the fire nation was unified and had royalty, it was just multiple warring clans so my guess is that there probably wasnt even a royal crown at that point.
Dan Walker good point but that was very long ago we just don’t know how long. In the comics they tell you more about that.
Just realized something. The crown in her hair wasn’t a fire nation logo but was similar just without the inside parts of it. Maybe she was royalty among one of the tribes before the nation had a monarchy and that was her tribes or whatever symbol and a lesser developed fire nation logo/emblem. Typically fire nation citizens wear a fire nation emblem in their hair so it would make since for her to wear one of tribe.
Some lazy animator: eh no one will notice her we don’t have to draw arms
Him: makes this video
Animator: *surprised pikachu face*
That said lazy animator also did not follow the avatar cycle to the avatars pass the third row of avatars
Nohcav thank you I thought I was tripping when I saw that a while back
if you look behind the "armless avatar", the earth bender avatar before Yangshen is copied and pasted behind her because they were too lazy.
yasis baws Bruh, they also copy pasted Avatar Szeto on the far right lmao
She has arms
See that's what I'm saying we need a book about only the Avatars telling their life stories wat they did in the Avatar cycle
I agree
This is what I was expecting them to do before Avatar Korra.
Part of marshal arts is control over your own mind
itarfer that’s a good point because they did that with legend of Korra, they used our lack of knowledge about the first avatar to create a whole story line for a current avatar
She does have arms, they're just tucked under her clothing. If you look near her hip closely, you can see her hands on her side
Not sure if you realised, but if you look at her shoulders, especially at 2:48, you see what looks like the beginning of an arm, but no continuation.

Looking closer at the avatars after the ones in kyoshis cycle it appears that they are out of order
i think there water avatar twins or something

And she is holding the arms more behind her as you can see that she has these puffy sleeves till her elbow and the rest of the red sleeve next to the pink dress part
Nice theory Antoine, but I don't think that this female fire avatar had no arms. In the legend of korra book 2 book about the art of that season, it shows this specific avatar's statue at the southern air temple with arms.
The avatar with no arms girl could have her arms made of anything lava, ice, literal energy, frickin even rainbows if she wanted to
Amazing video bro🙌🏽
Well she probably used earth bending a lot and water arms like mung hua. And she can fire and air bend with her mouth
i might be wrong but supposedly the fire breath style of bending was invented by iroh, which would have been after her time
Emmaline Kitzmiller it wasn’t invented by Iroh. Kyoshi does it in the books
El Sabroso ok so, I nvr said anything abt that
@@emmalinekitzmiller7169 Iroh invented the redirecting lighting move. He was known as dragon of the west because of his fire breath, but it was never implied he invented it.
I always thought that the sleeves draping off to the side were her arms. It just looked like she was armless due to her shoulder extensions of her out for being so long. If you look at Roku's outfit (and some of the other fire bending afters; aside from Szeto) , it kind of looks the same way too. That being said, the idea of an armless avatar is intriguing.

Yep.
Wow I never would have caught that... Damn brain losing memory q.q thank you so much for the point out
Ty for great vid keep up the good work!
Nice video pal, i liked the story. And the edit of the video
I've seen this theory before. I think her arms are just drawn weird. If you look closely, you can see them tucked into her sides. There's a little white speck to the left of her that could be her hand sticking out. Also, if you look closely, you'll notice that she's wearing some sort of belt. The edges of the belt don't reach all the way across. Instead it stops just short on both sides, meaning the areas where the belt is not present is actually her sleeves.
In my Legend of Korra fan-fiction, I actually gave this Avatar a name. I called her Avatar Mei-Ling, and she was from the Fire Nation royal family. I also gave the combustion-benders an origin. In my story, the combustion-benders were part of a tribe called the Zatsu Tribe, who were a persecuted minority in the northern Fire Nation. They originated when fire benders from the northern Fire Nation intermingled with Air Nomads from the nearby Western Air Temple across the sea, leading to a new culture emerging. The two styles of bending mixing led to the emergence of unique firebending style known as combustion-bending. Because of their strange bending and different culture, the Zatsu Tribe was feared and persecuted throughout the Fire Nation's history, especially during the Hundred Year War due to them having some Air Nomad heritage.
What if she blew off her arms like a combustion man?
I really enjoyed your analysis 👌🏾
I think it may be very plausible!

You earned a sub here. Love the video bro
Interesting. I always thought of combustion bending as some kind of mutation ability, where a firebender fires energy through the light chakra (i think that's the one on forehead), given that it's so different and independent from the main bending ability.
Exploring this Avatar would be amazing though, how she learns bendings and copes up with her disability etc
So nobody us going to talk about hiw beautifull the female avatar behind szeto and kyoshi is?
Great Video!
I once did a small discussion on her on Reddit (but more focused on self doubt because of her disability)...but it didn't fly because I was told she had arms....but it's still a wonderful topic with so many possibilities.
Anyway, glad that you discussed her. It was very interesting. I love your exploration of the past Avatars.
Amazing Theory!
Dude I love your mind. Same as me I can spit out lore theories and it’s my favorite thing to do
Each Avatar seems to progress more within each era they live, I have a slight theory on the setting of the Avatar after Korra...
Aang lived in an ancient time which is more reminiscent of the 1800’s in Asia when technology was new and was starting to become more militarized. Bending is more traditional and is based on the traditional way of martial arts.
Korra basically lives in the 1920’s with a steampunk era where technology is an extension of bending. Also bending is far more fast paced and pro-boxer like.
The next Avatar after her I picture living in a 1970’s hippie culture with technology being kind of the same, but more personalized. Bending I could be brung back to its spiritual origins and fluidity with a mix of psychic abilities.
deViianceTV I think the next avatar would live in the 50s because korra could die at 47
The reason for Korra’s early death would be
-avatar state shortened game her lifespan
-poison shortening lifespans
-lack of Raava’s energy shortening her lifespans
-energy and avatar state used during harmonic convergence shorting lifespan.
Great video!

MystikAura Maybe! I didn’t know. None of my other theory channels presented it and I enjoy his presentation :)
But she has arms
Its just big sleeves that cover them, you can see it if you zoom
She might have been an Avatar who could ONLY combustion bend instead of mastering the 4 elements.
You dont need arms to bend as demonstrated by ming hua
She have arms. Just look at roku's clothes. Theres a book that shows her statue. SHE HAVE ARMS.
I love the theory man!
I love theories like this :D Even if that would be totally not true, that's something nice to speculate on
Here is the theory I came up with
In ATLA season 3 Zuko hires the combustion bending assassin and we can see that he has missing limbs which is very likely for the reason why he lost 2 of his limbs.
His toughness combined with luck could be the reason why he survived.
In LoK we are introduced to a combustion bender named P’Li whose abilities were discovered at very young age without any fire bending training whatsoever which means that combustion bending is not an ability that can be learned and it is an ability discovered at a very young age. She was kidnapped and forced to become the greatest weapon ever by being trained by some of the best firebenders ever.
Her not losing any limbs or dying and being a better combustion bender than combustion man suggests that there may be secrets of combustion bending only known to special people and some members of the royal family.
The armless avatar may have hid her combustion bending secrets in the royal family and maybe passed on to a few people which could suggest why P’li never was harmed by her combustion bending as a child and in learning stages which is extremely rare furthermore hinting at the fact that this armless avatar was in the royal family which could suggest her outfit.
losing her arms and surviving also meant that she could have mastered her combustion bending faster because other elements were a lot harder to progress without arms which could also be another reason why she survived because her learning the combustion being quicker (because the other bending types were harder to learn allowing her to put more time and focus into combustion bending) could’ve prevented another accident.
We can also see that combustion bending requires extreme focus so those children survived their first explosion would’ve definitely died from later explosions caused by them breaking focus which is the reason why only people who are specially trained people like P’li, the armless avatar and maybe combustion man avoided future incidents.
I don’t think she was the first person to discover combustion bending but rather she was the first known combustion bender and the only one who survived childhood and actually learned her ability due to her having no arms allowing for an opportunity to master and control her combustion bending (and the fact that she was specially trained because she was the avatar which helped her develop combustion bending even quicker).
The idea that combusting bending is extremely uncommon because only very few are born with it (and the fact that it can’t be taught) and only the strongest ,toughest, most talented and best benders survive and learn it is pretty interesting in my opinion.
2:43 Tell me if I’m crazy but is that not the Fire Lord headpiece that the male fire nation avatar is wearing behind her?
same thoughts with that closeup!
I love your shirt BTW!
I'm so gald atla is getting noticed. I watched it around when it first came out, and know one knew about it. Its such an amazing show and it 100000% needed more attention❤
5:44 look at the fat Joe air bender on the left he looks like a good uncanny type design that fits well like the Buddha.
Yes. I've notified he looks like an avatar Buddha, too.
@@emmanuellattab4881 Bro I would so love to see a a series based on this dude. There is just so much story potential to this World it pains me that they don't create more Avatar stories. I mean all we got was Korra which was fun but I really want to see more past lives animated into a TV show.
Can you make a video of the Earthbending Avatar that was before Avatar Szeto
Bro, why do you come up with interesting questions that I've never thought of.
But still makes me interested. 🤨
just fyi this theory has been around for years
In the legend of korra artbook part one air page 128 there is a panel where it show the past avatar scene and the parts where it seems she is missing arms look more like tassles of some variety
Think you could make a video on the messed up order of the avatars? Assuming the order to be what's stated in the opening, it should be Water, Earth, Fire, Air (of course Wan was a firebender so water wouldn't be the first in the cycle, but let's go with it as a circle technically has no beginning) The avatar before bearded earth guy (before Szeto, behind Kyoshi, think his name is maybe Salai) should've been water...but is fire. Before HIM should be Air which is correct (we're looking at the 'food friendly' air nomad) however before him should've been Fire, but is instead Earth?
Perhaps some were stillborn, or murdered at birth? Never discovered they were the avatar, or refused the role? Perhaps Raava had reason to choose another nation than the next one in the cycle?
I know it's likely an animation consistency error but it could be cool to theorise an in universe explanation.
I wonder if there ever was a Avatar that discovered Sandbending, or Icebending
Icebending is basically water bending techniques
Toph can sandbend iv seen it in a episode
@@jtrecords4856 I'd consider it a different bending style. Benders use icebending similar to how an earthbender would earthbend. Also kinda how lavabenders state-change earth into lava, waterbenders do it too.
Since water has a much lower melting and freezing temperature, most decent waterbenders state-change pretty easily.
I think it can be channeled thorough the hand if you think about when zuko tried to lighting Bend instead of him generating lighting it made a concentrated blast like combustion benders
I really love this theory!! It's great and totally believe it!!
:)
Given how combustioners always fight the avatar in some capacity, I'm betting it wasn't pioneered by an avatar. We usually get bigger, corruptible concepts from avatars, right?
Heres my theory: The Fire lady Avatar is able to combustion bend and is the Fire Lord during her era. She understood chi more fervently than most, so she was able to discover the elemental extension. Similar to how Toph could understand how to bend metal. While also being highly enlightened towards other nations(possibly she's knowlegeable of multiple Jin, since she would be able to understand the world. In a diversified light and the complexity of her own). Which became a detriment(as it could lead to the known events with Sezto and Roku's era; what you stated). Due to her focus upon other nations, as she might've grown to a point of comfort with her nation. As it deteriorated while she was often away. Which led to family lines being severed(as royalty doesn't continue on through the exact same family's)and would lead to future generations; Combustion Man, becoming a spy/assassin during times of war and P'Li, being saved from being a war Lords weapon(both were manipulated, due to them having fractured pasts and disjointed beginnings).
I like this theory.
She looks like royalty doesn’t she
This is very specific.
This is a really interesting theory!
It would be cool if she’s who ming hua look up to to become a powerful bender
I get people like to theorize on things that have been floating around for years, but she has arms. Not only is there a picture of her statue out with her arms in it, but bryke himself has also confirmed that she has arms. People need to do a little research instead of rehashing the same stuff that has been around with proof of it being debunked other than that i'm pretty sure it's confirmed that she was the wife of the firelord during that time
I never noticed that, I think u got something going here 👍
