Mochiball I think it’s a testament to how good a show it was that people are still talking about it today, such an awesome show my favorite animated show ever and one of the greatest shows ever period
Ian You realize that wasn’t her choice to make, right? Why not place the blame on Vaatu, the being who’s actually responsible for breaking her connections to begin with?
In this video, he literally tells you who destroyed that connection, (Unalaq) yet you still insists on saying that Avatar Korra "broke the lines" herself...
Korra actually has another advantage... metal bending... she is the first Avatar to master that sub bending specialty. Aagn has the knowledge of lightning bending as well and I’m not sure if Korra used it, where as he only absorbed and deflected it. Korra also has used ice bending where Aang did not. To my knowledge refuses to do Sub bending.

How can you rate Aang and Korra on the same level when Korra was beaten by Kuvira almost twice and Aang beat not only a fully powered Firelord Ozai but also Yacone and overcame blood bending where Korra couldn’t. Aang best the Firelord at age 12 or 14. He had a lifetime to develop further and had many more techniques than Korra. They just can’t be on the same tier to me.
@@avriel6903 its more powerful now because raava is at her peak strength. What she lacks in past knowledge(worthless to her anyway if you ask me) she makes up for in having the strongest avatar state to date now
Aang went on autopilot to best ozai he was getting wrecked when he tried to use his own skill. Beating yakone doesn't mean much sense his son was a prodigy and mastered his techniques at 14 and korra beats his son as an adult without avatar state. He's being generous putting them on the same tier because the creator said korra wrecks aang
If he had a thousand lifetimes that would mean the average lifespan of an avatar would be (10,000 years / 1,000 lifetimes)= 10 years. Pretty sure Avatar Roku didn’t mean that because all the past Avatars looked like they lived well in adulthood. The creators really didn’t care (or didn’t know what to do) with the past avatars and that’s why they got rid of them.
@@amadoudiallo8557 They didn't know what to do with Aang, their last main character? I mean I can see how the past lives before Kyoshi were completely underutilized in both series but how beautiful would it have been to keep them around so Aang could react to the new Air Nation, Korra telling him what his kids think of him, the loss of the Avatar as a bridge to the spirit world, the existence of the spirit portals, etc. I know to make a good sequel you can't depend on the original too much but I struggle to see how breaking off this potential for Books 3 and 4 made Korra better
i actually think Roku was telling the truth, when you see all the avatars it seems like way more than 100. And who says that it has to be 10.000 years, for all we know theres been 100 harmonic convergences but nothing like this happened because the spirit portals were closed for all of that time.
@@pickolus3032 They say that Avatar Wan was the first ever Avatar. And he was also the Avatar before Korra who lived during the last Harmonic Convergence, which was 1000 years before. And Roku said there have only been 10,000 avatars. So this is clearly a contradiction. One thing that we are missing here is that Roku might not have known. Roku didn't know about Vaatu/Ravaa, neither did Aang. In fact Avatar Kuruk is the only one who is confirmed to know about them. So I think the most likely truth is that there have not been 10,000 Avatars, and Roku simply thought wrong.

When Wan and Raava merged, Raava was small enough to fit into a teapot. When Korra remerged with Raava, Ravaa was much bigger and much more powerful. Whoo
This doesn't have to do with avatar skills though. It's an earthbender technique to achieve immortality, it isn't a skill limited to the avatar. HeyOzzy! True, tho they couldn’t really do all of them, as we know that there are hundreds of them. I want to see more of Yangchen, and see the 2 Avatars that came before her, the Fire and Earth ones.
I think that many never acknowledge Kuvira as someone powerful even though she's as talented earth and metal bender as Toph, beside that she didn't have seismic sence she also was capable of beating up avatar
Khetzy you mean katara whoops zuko’s ass, she even defeated azula a couple of times. Zuko never had a chance against azula, only when she went crazy. Katara also beat zuko almost when she had 1 day of training, so on the end of the serie she will kill him😂
You know, after Korra lost her connection to her past lives, we can actually see how it hampers her abilities in the seasons beyond. When fighting the Red Lotus, she doesn't fly or lavabend, skills that Aang and other Avatars have always been capable of. Book 3 shows that both of these are actually bending substyles, and since she doesn't have her ancient knowledge she doesn't know how to use them anymore, and can only use skills she has learned herself (with a power boost from Raava). So she can't fly on a whirlwind or create a sphere of swirling air to lift herself, which is why she has to propel herself with short bursts of flame in order to keep up with Zahir. Luckily, her knowledge of Metalbending and Spiritbending gives her an edge, so she has some powerful skills to contribute to the new cycle. But whoever succeeds her will have a lot of ancient knowledge that they have to uncover.
It never hinders her since she never got possessed by them anyways. None of the previous Avatars could fly without a glider, Korra can do this. Even if she doesn't have lavabending it's fine. She still has metal, energy, and water spirit bending. She knows how to do the air ball thing, she did it against Vaatu to trap him. The only reason she doesn't do it on herself is cause it would make her too close to Aang
So what you're saying is...since Korra can't rely on the past lives doing things for her and giving her abilities she instead does the job just as well with her own capabilities and skill. Sounds damn impressive.
Love what you do man! Been subbed for a couple of years. Good seeing someone still talking about an amazing series like Avatar. Great video. Keep up the good work!
Everytime you upload a video, it feels like you're back after a long vacation. The actual video is also really great. Can't wait to see more of this. Be water, my friend.
Aang and Korra couldn't be anymore different. He excelled in spirituality while Korra excelled in bending. Being exact opposites, I think they did great in showing the reincarnation system Also Korra and Aang could destroy the other avatars as they have more modern ways of fighting and bending. I mean korra was the first avatar to learn how to metal bend, and Aang was the first to learn how to energy bend sooo
Both Aang and Korra mastered the elements from a young age, unlike Roku. I think Aang and Korra in their prime would beat Roku in his prime. But yes, Man Roku would defeat Kid Aang and Kid Korra. Kyoshi would beat everyone though.
They show up here: ruclips.net/video/Tt6wjFJhkM0/видео.html but more importantly is this video ruclips.net/video/qgEL1kSSO9M/видео.html which has a possible explanation for them being benevolent beings that can only create/give but not destroy/fight.
Korra is the first metal bending avatar, she can heal, she defeated unalaq without Raava, the avatar state, or any of the past avatars. Just simple her spiritual power. She can spirt bend, she was poisoned which was supposed to kill her but she survived. She bended a spirit beam that has the power of a nuclear bomb. She saved her enemy from dying. Made it so humans and spirits can live together in peace. Korra is the best avatar. You can’t change my mind.
She created a new spirit portal, got over a psychiatric PTSD problem, govt Raava back and didn't let Avatar cycle to be history. Her journey started when she was 16 or something. After 3rd season she took 3 years hiatus so she was 22 when the show ended. She achieved all this under 22. If she died the next year no body would call her a failure like how they called Kuruk who died at 33 or something. If there is a third Avatar series, we would get an idea how long she lived and what more legends she made.
Why is Unulaaq higher than the ancient Avatars? He only has water bending, and no past lives to draw experience on, while the ancient avatars had all the elements.
if you think about it, after the Unavatu and Blue Korra, Korra is the strongest Avatar shown in both of the series yet, only because of the following points: Book 1: Air - Korra defeated a blood bender who was so advanced that he didn't need a full moon to harvest in his powers as first shown in Avatar -TLA She wasn't a fully realized Avatar until sometime when book 2 was premiering even though Amon ran away, she still took him down. She faced an enemy that could literally take bending away by using a form of waterbending, Amon is the strongest water bender in my opinion. Even though we are introduced to Unalaq, he did not gain true power until he merged with Vatu through harmonic convergence. Book 2 - Spirits - Losing her access to the past avatars and using the knowledge she gained from the tree of life, she basically evolved into Spirit Korra ( I know it could only happen once every 10,000 years because of harmonic convergence ) Book 3: Change - Korra defeated Zaheer while being poisoned so they could strike her while shes in the avatar state. Being dragged across a mountain terrain, with broken bones which led Korra to be in a wheelchair for 2+ years, she defeated Zaheer, who has been labeled as a very dangerous character who can take out benders alone, when he gained airbending they became far more deadly. Book 4: Balance - Korra being haunted by the ghost of her past self, she became mentally unstable and even though she was labeled as somebody which a mental instability, the way she acted seemed like she had PTSD after her battle and her trying to regain herself. When Korra faced Kuvira she still wasn't fully healed from her battle with Zaheer. She went to visit Zaheer to try and confront her past. Aang and avatars before him have been mentioned but none have been presented in such a way that we could have ever known if they went through many traumatic things as Korra did. Yes, Aang lost his entire culture but he bounced back from that after he had met Katara, Sokka, and Toph. Not only did he have them but he also had creatures that were based living in the air temples such as Momo and Appa. Kyoshi's, Yangchen's and Kuruk's life has been briefly mentioned in the shows but explained further in comics that have been released after the shows. Kyoshi having no family due to her parents abandoning her and her team avatar either being killed by her enemies or walking away from her, Kuruk losing the love of his life because he wasn't attentive during his time being an Avatar and Yangchen, she lost two of her members of team avatar due to them sacrificing their lives for her. Being so relied on the aspect of her being a passive-aggressive type of avatar but even during her time, she did a hell of a lot of good that gave Kuruk the impression that he doesn't need to pull his weight but he had only realized during the last few years of his short period. Thank you for reading my ted talk x I hope you guys know this is just my opinion, so try dragging me and it will end bad for you x
You know, I REALLY APPRECIATE your unbiased review of this show. Unfortunately a lot of whiny fanboys watched Korra with their biases set in place and missed out on her amazingly powerful she was. She fought VAATU and WON! Alot of people miss that. Anywho, awesome of you yo speak truthfully and not try to pander to those idiots. Have an apple!
She wasn't really OP. Every power-up was logical and reasonable, plus she was always given an extreme amount of adversity. There's a reason why Korra alone doesn't sit atop any of the tiers, but her enemies are right alongside.
Korra wasn't OP. She got beat up over and over and over despite having trained since her early childhood (she is 17 at the start of the show) and having far more time to develop her talents than Aang had in ATLA. And it's only at the very end of the series where she attains the unprecedented level of power that landed her near the top of this tier list. Her cosmic state was temporary and achieved through special circumstances that were never present again.
@@wundzibun7005 Sure lets forgot she faced stronger opponents. Has any avatar faced the strongest blood bender like No one has ever seem before? Nope. Has any avatar faced Vattu and Dark Avatar? The avatars have the strength and access to the knowledge and skill of previous avatars so Kyoshis successors are superior in their prime. Also no metalbending or seismic sense as far as we know and definitively no energy bending. There is honestly no implication that she is the strongest and the lore goes completely against it.
@@maxmustermann9058 that isnt true. The fire avatar before roku is the first avatar we know that can lava bend but is also the only one we know that can lava bend
I put AS korra above AS aang but I can agree with the rest. Not only did the creators say korra would win but I feel like you gave aang too many points for simply being the first energy bending avatar. There's absolutely no inclination he's as adept at energy bending as korra is to tank that beam the way she did and metal bending wasn't even acknowledged by you when comparing the 2. Korra is arguably a better water fire metal and energy bender than aang while aang only has the edge in air and ill say they're about even in earth because he does have seismic sense.
Imagine the fear the second avatar had when they first connected with Juan 😂 plus the pressure of mastering all the elements when people just figured out how to use the bending powers
Adam Balbale you clearly didn’t read what i said... she got beat by both LMAO katara was near for no reason i would’ve respected the fight more if she wasn’t there as a backup or whatever reason she was there for. she had no point to go there with Zuko. why was she there in the first place? i never said she took anyone down read my comment again LMAO
Ming-Hua and Katara fight in the three-on-three between Tenzin, Katara, and Bolin against Zaheer, Ming-Hua, and Ghazan. I'd say the odds support Katara's victory, but according to that fight alone (the only fight between them), Ming-Hua wins. I think the reason, though, is that waterbending is generally nerfed in the franchise since fights would become too boring. Unlike Katara, Ming-Hua's water is always connected to her body, leaving her more vulnerable to being frozen by another waterbender (or, you know, electrocuted by Mako..).
Something I’ve always been confused on is that in LOK lava bending is for earth bending while in ATLA it is implied or even shown that lava bending is a skill that fire benders acquire
Well lava isn't fire or Earth and fire. Lava is molten rock aka really hot rock, so it makes sense. They made an error in implying that lava is a fire Bender's power, so the retconned it. Think of it like this, water benders can bend ice so Earth benders can bend lava.
I'm sure it's just writer's preference, but I think it probably makes more sense for Fire to be more natural at it. The fluidity of lava opposes the foundations of traditional Earth Bending. I think both should be capable of it though, we see Toph and Katara bend the sludge water in the Fire Kingdom, so a mixture element is established.
It was never said to be fire bender only bending lava. That was just fire nation avatar being first known avatar to bend lava and next few did as well like Kyoshi and Roku. Lava is just molten rock or liquid form of earth.
Atomshapeshifter A I feel like earthbenders and firebenders can bend lava, but only earthbenders can turn earth into lava or turn lava into earth Sozin could bend the heat out of the lava but he wasn’t actually bending the lava to turn into earth
A bit later in watching this, but I like that you acknowledge the fact that Unalaq was far more in-tune with his spiritual side than Korra was, so he was completely in sync with Vaatu. Though, a lot of people seem to forget the portion where Raava mentioned that as Vaatu's influence over the world grows, he grows stronger and she grows weaker. You can see this in their size comparison: when Vaatu is out, he is roughly the size of the tree of time, and when Raava gets pulled out of Korra, she is much smaller than Korra. So it wasn't a super easy fight to win as many people claim it should have
Nice tier list and breakdown. I agree with alot of what you said, but I do feel you overlooked some very important details. For starters, Wan actually used energybending to merge with Raava during harmonic convergence. He also used it to open and close the spirit portals. Also, it was Raava who informed Korra that she could bend the energy within the spirit world prison to free Jinora and the other spirits that were trapped by the spirit wilds. Her explanation to Korra would suggest that all the Avatars possess the ability to manipulate spiritual energy to the level that Korra has. Iroh seemed to suggest the same to her. So the concept for energy bending for Avatars seemed to exist within the avatar cycle predating Korra. The difference is, the latest Avatars don't seem to communicate as far back as Raava or Wan. It's usually only the previous four Avatars of the current one. Roku didn't recognize that Aang was on the back of a Lion Turtle for example, when someone like Wan and Raava would have known. The example you used with Aang to suggest that the concept of energybending didn't exist to Avatars is quite flawed. For one thing, Aang only spoke with the previous four avatars about what he should do to stop Ozai. There was no discussion about energybending or if it existed or should be used. In fact, it's quite possible the avatars would've still suggested for Aang to kill Ozai even with the option to take away his bending. Roku wanted Aang to kill Zuko, when it was discovered that he was going fight to protect the colonies in the graphic novels(The Promise). The Lion Turtle merely suggested that energybending was common practice vs bending the elements in the era predating the Avatar. It never suggests that it wasn't used at all by anyone or at any point by an Avatar after. The idea of taking away one's bending was probably a new concept though. Also, it should be noted that Aang had no access to the Avatar State at this point. He could still commune with his past lives, but his connection to all their skills were locked away in book 2 by Azula's lightning. Another thing is how you imply Korra kept the power up from Harmonic Convergence and this somehow helped her to block the spirit cannon. There is simply no evidence to suggest this. The powerup only happened during her mediation in the Tree of Time and Harmonic Convergence. So it's safe to assume she lost this energy boost shortly after the convergence came to an end. Jinora didn't keep her upgrades so it's safe to assume Korra lost it as well. So it's very likely other Avatars could do what Korra did to the cannon if they knew the concept of energy bending. Some other things you should consider: There was no full moon when Aang merged with the Ocean spirit. When Zhao killed the moon spirit, this effectively ended the powerup everyone received from the moon. In fact, all of the waterbenders were shown to have lost their bending at that point and were getting overrun by the firebenders. Only Aang could bend at that point. Vaatu was more powerful than Korra because Unalaq caused so much darkness in the world: Turning spirits dark and creating chaos across both the spirit and physical world. It was revealed in the Wan episodes that this makes Vaatu more powerful and Raava significantly far weaker("as darkness grows, light fades"). She literally shrinks to the size of a tea cup before Wan faces him during Harmonic Convergence. This same thing occurs during Korra's fight with Unalaq and Vaatu. Raava is very small when we see Unavaatu rip Raava from her body, and once she is fully destroyed he gains full power and grows into a giant monster. So this would make power scaling him against other Avatars very iffy. Since you're comparing his performance against Korra when Raava was at her practical weakest, there's no telling how well an Avatar would do against him when those odds aren't stacked against them.
I’m not sure if all of this is true. When wan touches the portal and fused with rava, it seemed very instinctual to me, not like he was purposely energy bending. Therefore, he also may have just needed to touch the portals to close them. After harmonic convergence, Genora did keep her ability to project her spirit; it just wasn’t as powerful. This being the case, maybe korra was able to keep a portion of her power-up. It isn’t proven that the avatar gets weaker as darkness grows. Without a human host, rava is definitely shown to get weaker, but the rules seem to change when she has a host. For example, alone, rava cannot die, or at least if she does, she’ll be reborn shortly after. However, if the avatar is killed in the avatar state, the reincarnation cycle will be broken, and thus rava is destroyed. Therefore, it is possible that the avatar will also break the rule that rava gets weaker as darkness grows. This is supported by the fact that korra was just about to seal Vaatu away before she was surprised by unaloq. These are just my thoughts and opinions. None of them are facts
@@Stein0601 Let us also not forget how Wan was able to trap Vaatu in the Tree of Time with some form of energy bending as well. Creating a sort of barrier that kept him trapped there with the energy from Harmonic Convergence. Raava was also an energy bender since she was the one who held on to the other element abilities when Wan was still training to master them, and energy bent those abilities into him when he was ready. Again, it was Raava who informed Korra about how the energy in the Spirit World could be bent from within and how Avatars are connected to all the spiritual energy there. This seemed like a concept that she knew very well and wasn't difficult for Korra to learn. That's a really big assumption about Jinora, and your notion for Korra's powerup hinges greatly on the belief that what Jinora possessed was a result of a power she gained from Harmonic Convergence, which is simply not true. For starters, Jinora is a prodigy airbender that was capable of great spiritual feats, She mastered airbending at 11 and has a much stronger affinity to spirirts and the spirit world than even Korra does. Jinora mentioned to Kai that this power was a high level airbending skill that was easier to perform during Harmonic Convergence. Which would suggest that the power didn't come from Harmonic Convergence and the event simply amplified her abilities for a short time there due to the increase in spiritual energy. She was always going to learn how to do spiritual projection. It is at the very least strongly suggested that an Avatar would grow weaker when darkness is at an all time high, since Unalaq and Vaatu as a Dark Avatar grew into a giant monster right after Raava was destroyed. There is no evidence to suggest that Raava dies permanently if an Avatar is killed in the Avatar State. Wan simply used Harmonic Convergence to bind Raava's spirit with the Avatar's life cycle. If the avatar dies in the avatar state the connection to this cycle is broken and Raava would be reborn into/through Vaatu as she was shown to be in the series when she was fully destroyed by the Dark Avatar. The creators mentioned that Vaatu would be reborn through Raava despite being destroyed in his Dark Avatar State with Unalaq, and would not be reborn through Unalaq's life cycle as a Dark Avatar. Korra beat Vaatu because she still had the elements under her command, a connection to the past avatars, and herself to combat Vaatu. Remember that her spirit was powerful enough to go toe to toe with the Dark Avatar after Raava was destroyed. Adding the skills, knowledge and spiritual energy of all the past avatars would easily even out the gap between the two for example.
As far as continuity of the number of avatars there has been, Roku mentions that he's lived 1000 lifetimes when speaking to the fire bender Jeong Jeong over the 10,000 years. So the lore of the number of avatars doesn't fully line up, being only 10years old on average per avatar.
This started off well but i think went off at class C. No way creating your own island and battling an active volcano can be compared to making a tidal wave.
You're right it can't. But it also doesn't put Kuruk below either (a lot of the characters have very few feats and the way I work that isn't by demoting them but giving them parity). As it is, we don't have a whole lot on Kuruk. I suppose you can say I go with the line of thought of "Powerful until proven guilty." And Kuruk hasn't done anything to suggest he _isn't_ powerful.
@Mr.Supreme yes but Im understanding how he was rating their power based off of feats but not the skill and strength of each avatar. Kuruk showed that he might be one of the strongest avatars with no additional help like a harmonic convergence or merging with the ocean spirit.
@@BhBc8f8 in the avatar states maybe but some recent avatars had better masters or trained more for combat than other like Kuruk. As young as he died all he focused on was combat so he would be better than most avatars after him unless they had better masters or learned new innovative ways to bend
15jewjew firstly being on a rampage isn’t going all out because it doesn’t actually utilize skill. If aang or literally any other avatar needed to use spirit bending a master would’ve presented itself. And Korra was literally the least spiritual avatar so any avatar would’ve risen to the occasion.

I would argue that Energy bending wasn't discovered by Aang but 'Revealed' to Aang. Which means it was a technique that could have been used by previous avatars or at least known by LionTurtles but since Aang is young he wasnt trained yet... Also.... because the LionTurtle "summoned" Aang... I would argue that LionTurtles have a spiritual connection ergo... With the Avatar. Meaning they were around before, during and after the Avatar... Meaning they could be immortal 🤷🏾♂️.
aang was the first avatar to ever learn energy bending. he didn't magically make it into something, since the lion turtles gave aang the power to energy bend.
@@ishiex7498 it's not clear. I can't say yes or no. Other fully realized Avatars could have known this technic, emphasis on "could have". The Lion Turtle stated "In the time before the Avatar we bend not the elements but the energy in ourselves"
The fact that the turtle gave it to Aang means no Avatar could have done it before, as we see the turtles are how the Avatar could bend elements in the first place.
@@bangmain5355 Its like 99.9% a very heavily implied assumption. We saw the turtles give Wan the elements through the exact same technique and they eventually turned into legend, you're saying its possible another Avatar found one and learned this but it was just forgotten yet again its impossible when the turtle tells Aang " *before* the Avatar we bent not the elements but the energy within ourselves", and even "we" isn't clear if he means the turtles or people. I just don't see how you came to this conclusion, the turtle says this happened before Wan and makes no hint that the Avatar has it but doesn't know how to use it. The turtles use the exact same technique when *giving* the elements to humans, thats not a coincidence.
Antoine Bandele they should have a season 4 and continue the story and I bet if he was older in a continued series he’d be more powerful cause I know the writers are lazy in the comics
Not all avatars live to be 100, Aang was around 50 (150 u know what I mean) Roku looked to be in his 80's when he died, Kyoshi lived to be 230 & Kuruk died when he was 33. So Avatars don't always live to be 100.
My A-Tier list (Tier 2) would be: S. Noatak and Yakone (and Maybe Tarrlok and Hama if not they would be A. Tier) A. Fire Lord Ozai, Uncle Iroh (and maybe toph, Tenzin And Jinora but if not they would be B. Tier) B. All members of the Red Lotus, Combustion Man, Unalaq C. Katara, Azula, Zuko, Other Famous White Lotus members like Pakku D. Mako, Bolin, Kuvira, Suyin Beifong, Lin Beifong E. Kya, Tonraq, Iroh (Junior), Ty Lee, Suki (I might have forgotten some characters but that’s all I could come up with)
Green Couch I know but she could only bloodbend with a full moon which makes her a far weaker bloodbender than e.g. Noatak! I also excluded such special circumstances in my list so on a normal day Katara would be C Tier And I placed Hama higher because she invented Bloodbending
People underestimate kuvira so much, her battle style is unseen, has a cunning mind, and a quick body full of dextery. The series shows her as an avatar master level (with no A state and the right circunstances)
That first list is almost flawless! The only thing I'd do is put June a little higher, I'm pretty sure she'd be able to take on Sokka if not destroy him, even though his battle experience and sword training increased his rating over the course of the series
Katara is the most powerful water bender in both series but she's not an avatar and can't access the Avatar state. So although a powerful character, she's not in Tier 1 with the Avatars
@@iasiahalofivae4006 She could. When she searched for her mother, she used blood bending without a full moon. The only reason she doesn't use blood bending is because she doesn't like to use it. But she is easily a more powerful bender than Amon and didn't need a full moon to blood bend.
ResonantHigh the southern Raiders ay? Um rewatch the episode the full moon was out that night. Maybe with a few more years of training she could gain the ability to bloodbend without the full moon as of actual facts it’s never been done
ResonantHigh Amon in my opinion maybe the greatest water bender who ever lived thus we never saw any feats due to the story plot but considering he can blood bend at will, take away Bending, hand 2 hand combat on par with anyone in the avatar universe that’s excluding his use of water bending he’s got Katara beat
I think that avatar gets stronger and stronger after reincarnation (I mean as a normal person, not in avatar state), not because of knowledge of past lifes or talent, but because of number of people that masters their elements and can help avatar to also do it, and people are thinking about new ways to bend things and avatars can master it like Korra did with metal or Aang with energy bending
For the two titans at the end, there increased size is a great flaw and even end of book 3 Aang could most likely defeat him with greater agility and more compact attacks. Furthermore, the attacks of the titans are large and sloppy.
Hey Antoine can you maybe do like a top 10 best fights in all of avatar (TLA and LoK). You could maybe base it on choreography, how impactful it was, animation, etc. Ik your working on the tier list series rn but maybe after your done.

Ahmad Tidja I think we just need to accept that it's a mistake from the creators.
i actually think Roku was telling the truth, when you see all the avatars it seems like way more than 100.

When Kyoshi pulled the ultimate, "Aight, imma head out," in Earth Kingdom history, then lived until 230 just to flex on the Avatar cycle. Power moves.
This doesn't have to do with avatar skills though. It's an earthbender technique to achieve immortality, it isn't a skill limited to the avatar.
The only reason she doesn't do it on herself is cause it would make her too close to Aang
also korra CAN fly with a whirlwind, it's called an air spout tho but yeah shes seen using it in s4 while fighting kuviras mech
So what you're saying is...since Korra can't rely on the past lives doing things for her and giving her abilities she instead does the job just as well with her own capabilities and skill. Sounds damn impressive.
@@shepardoakenshieldprime3357 yeah Korra is relying on her training alone. Another commenter said it best "her power is more primal than experience."

Aang and Korra couldn't be anymore different.
He excelled in spirituality while Korra excelled in bending. Being exact opposites, I think they did great in showing the reincarnation system
Also Korra and Aang could destroy the other avatars as they have more modern ways of fighting and bending. I mean korra was the first avatar to learn how to metal bend, and Aang was the first to learn how to energy bend sooo
kinda silly aang didn't learn how to metal bend since toph was his literal best friend and teacher for awhile
Energy bend is more rare and aang can basically learn all sub and advanced technique from main elements he just choose not to.

Didn’t forget them. They are Tier 2, not Tier 1.
if you think about it, after the Unavatu and Blue Korra, Korra is the strongest Avatar shown in both of the series yet, only because of the following points:
Book 1: Air -
Korra defeated a blood bender who was so advanced that he didn't need a full moon to harvest in his powers as first shown in Avatar -TLA
She wasn't a fully realized Avatar until sometime when book 2 was premiering even though Amon ran away, she still took him down. She faced an enemy that could literally take bending away by using a form of waterbending, Amon is the strongest water bender in my opinion. Even though we are introduced to Unalaq, he did not gain true power until he merged with Vatu through harmonic convergence.
Book 2 - Spirits -
Losing her access to the past avatars and using the knowledge she gained from the tree of life, she basically evolved into Spirit Korra ( I know it could only happen once every 10,000 years because of harmonic convergence )
Book 3: Change -
Korra defeated Zaheer while being poisoned so they could strike her while shes in the avatar state. Being dragged across a mountain terrain, with broken bones which led Korra to be in a wheelchair for 2+ years, she defeated Zaheer, who has been labeled as a very dangerous character who can take out benders alone, when he gained airbending they became far more deadly.
Book 4: Balance -
Korra being haunted by the ghost of her past self, she became mentally unstable and even though she was labeled as somebody which a mental instability, the way she acted seemed like she had PTSD after her battle and her trying to regain herself.

For someone so OP she got beat up a lot, I mean whooped at least once by every bad guy she face.

Agreed. That was strange for me too. It worked for Bolin though because he was half-and-half.
Atomshapeshifter A I feel like earthbenders and firebenders can bend lava, but only earthbenders can turn earth into lava or turn lava into earth
Sozin could bend the heat out of the lava but he wasn’t actually bending the lava to turn into earth
So it wasn't a super easy fight to win as many people claim it should have
Cosmic Korra...I love that name!🤩🤩🤩
There are two more powerful beings that even outdo koizilla.
Me: *pauses* Appa and momo, got it.
You nailed it bro;
So much thinking and arguments that make your list stand out.
S Class: Sokka's instincts.
Correct. And I don't think the creators ever addressed this or not.
@@AntoineBandele so it's eight months later and from your recent video I feel like you'd want to change your mind on Kuruk
@Mr.Supreme yes but Im understanding how he was rating their power based off of feats but not the skill and strength of each avatar. Kuruk showed that he might be one of the strongest avatars with no additional help like a harmonic convergence or merging with the ocean spirit.
@@DavidElendu You're being ridiculous. All the Avatars are equal in combat except the earlier Avatars.
@@BhBc8f8 in the avatar states maybe but some recent avatars had better masters or trained more for combat than other like Kuruk. As young as he died all he focused on was combat so he would be better than most avatars after him unless they had better masters or learned new innovative ways to bend
Love the locks fam!
Great video! I'm looking forward to the next one.
Yep
Fascinating idea, I would love to see this idea applied against Star Wars characters.
EvanNova95 did something similar
That sounds pretty cool I feel like Anakin and Revan would be at the top
@@DragonoidBerserker1 He did , with the Jedi Grand Masters, and he said he would do the same with sith lords, in which i can't wait for, although that might not be for a while
Someone else can do that. I need (and am currently taking) a hiatus from SW.
@@AntoineBandele I don't blame you, Antoine. SWs have gone to crap under Disney. Some decent things, but the ST left a bad taste in my mouth.
Also if we’re talking about specific circumstances would you include Sozin’s comet Ozai or no?
Yes. Sozin Comet, full moon waterbenders, etc will be in their own tier.
Where is the almighty Melon Lord!!!
Lmao Tophs the best
I love your mind. You give the most unbiased, factual commentary.
I know Ming Hua have disadvantage because she use water as her limbs, but she's really very versatile, and intimidatingly cunning and incredible at the same time. And as a character I really love her.
Can you imagine if Zaheer actually had more time to master (even though he definitely already did in the general sense) airbending.
Lion Turtles needs some respect on their names
*Momo is the most powerful and ferocious character.*
but appa ate momo
This is so creative. Great video
I love the way this video is put together with the section telling you with part you are at
I disagree lion turtles are pretty much gods, i belive they may have created the avatar world i think they are top tier by themselves
They did not create the avatar. Please watch beginnings PT 1&2 in legend of korra
I dont think they created the world but i think they are some of the most powerful beings i mean even rava bowed down to them.
He's cute. And has a pleasant voice. I'm a fan. 😌
Edit: And there's a cat involved? I'm sold!
🤣😂🤣
Antoine Bandele 🙊
@@shepardoakenshieldprime3357 that's an assumption. It's not clear of it was given or revealed. The show doesn't say.
The turtles use the exact same technique when *giving* the elements to humans, thats not a coincidence.
what we don't talk about is how aang did this all at 12 years old imagine how powerful he was at 18 or 26 or even 40
He’s pretty close to 18 in the current comics and he’s about the same. This is the issue with assuming rapid growth for a younger character.
I think aang was older than that when he died but I’m not entirely sure
My A-Tier list (Tier 2) would be:
S.
Noatak and Yakone (and Maybe Tarrlok and Hama if not they would be A. Tier)
A.
Fire Lord Ozai, Uncle Iroh (and maybe toph, Tenzin And Jinora but if not they would be B. Tier)
B.
All members of the Red Lotus, Combustion Man, Unalaq
C.
Katara, Azula, Zuko, Other Famous White Lotus members like Pakku
D.
Mako, Bolin, Kuvira, Suyin Beifong, Lin
Beifong
E.
Kya, Tonraq, Iroh (Junior), Ty Lee, Suki
(I might have forgotten some characters but that’s all I could come up with)
I think katara should be in A tier she could blood bend
Green Couch I know but she could only bloodbend with a full moon which makes her a far weaker bloodbender than e.g. Noatak! I also excluded such special circumstances in my list so on a normal day Katara would be C Tier
And I placed Hama higher because she invented Bloodbending
People underestimate kuvira so much, her battle style is unseen, has a cunning mind, and a quick body full of dextery. The series shows her as an avatar master level (with no A state and the right circunstances)
I think this list is good.
Framlii thanks ;D

WOW seriously how long did it take you to write that?😮
Btw I like the emoji next to each word.
Adam Cheung I only looked at your list for actual characters and there’s a lot wrong
Ya what is this list🤦🏾♂️
@@Khetzy Examples?
That first list is almost flawless! The only thing I'd do is put June a little higher, I'm pretty sure she'd be able to take on Sokka if not destroy him, even though his battle experience and sword training increased his rating over the course of the series
Ozai better be on this list.
Truthfully though, I trust your judgement, your avatar vs battles have been pretty legit thus far
He’d never be this high. Even Sozin’s Comet Ozai. None of the characters listed would be defeated by him.
Ozai isnt even going to be at the top of the next tier below, we have, Amon, Yakone, Tarlok, Non avatar state avatars all being higher than him.
@@AntoineBandele I wrote that before I watched the video lol. I didn't know that it was Avatars exclusively.
A young Aang, with minimal “mastery” of each element, (even out of the avatar state) competed with Sozen comet-powered Ozai....
Jove Mokuryu Ozai is pretty weak compared to a lot of Avatar characters
In my opinion the strongest characters were. #1 Kyoshi, #2 Roku, #3 Anng and #4 korra
Interesting
Korra is also first avatar who can metalband.
Was watching Lego Star Wars. Just had to leave it for this
It really really bugs me how they just killed all of the past avatars
They're already dead mate, but yes I would've loved to see more of adult Aang
How come katara isn’t anywhere she could literally blood bend
Not at will unlike Amon
Spoiler
I feel Kuruk should be with Aang and Korra as his battle with a specific glow worm spirit they nearly tore a hole between the worlds.
Avatar wan....
he's the most broken.
Yeah, I’ve thought about doing that too.
Great vid brother
So I’m wondering that if Aang went to the tree of time om harmonic convergence could he become cosmic Aang
Similar results to Korra, though I expect he'd be a bit more powerful because he's more deeply in tuned with his spirituality.
Antoine Bandele that is true
