I want More Avatar! But i sure as heck don't want more of Korra! I want a Time Jump already! An Earthbender Avatar should get his Show! A Full-blown High Quality Show!!
As an Airbending teacher, id actually go for Jinora. She is already a master air bender and is just as capable as Tenzin, but she probably has one of the strongest connection to the spirits in the entire franchise. That would be both important to learn and very useful during your adventures. Also she already has a good amount of experience training the new airbenders, so yeah. Jinora all the way
I was wondering how come jinora wasn't even a contender!!! She's just as Skilled as tenzin and is only a fraction of his age, and her spiritual abilities are unmatched. She can do things even the avatar can't!!!
Lol. She is NOT as skilled as Tenzin. Just because she has practiced all the same techniques doesn't mean that. Tenzin had decades to train and perfect his bending. Calling her as skilled as Tenzin is like calling season 3 Zuko as skilled as Iroh.
Orca nonetheless she’ll make a great teacher. Plus she doesn’t have any beliefs against extreme measures and you’ll definitely learn even if it’ll kill u
man...all you wanna do is pass on your tribes culture...maybe a cool technique you learned under a full moon to another southern tribe water bending girl and people say you are psychotic! ...(jk)
even tho that both of the Avatar shows are years upon years old it makes me tear up seeing that us, the Avatar community is still so passionate and alive :')
Water: Katara - same reasons as yours Earth: Kuvira - powerful, resourceful and intelligent. Fire: Roku - I like to talk to myself Air: Gyatso - Excellent air bender and was also willing to protect Aang from the other monks, really good father figure
I think Aang would be the type to see you mess up and sugarcoat it in order to not hurt your feelings much. I think Tenzin chose to be so dogmatic and held himself to this standard as an airbender in order to make his father proud and out of a desire to please Aang, not because Aang was strict about air nomad teachings with him.
dramaturge231 I both agree and disagree with you. He did love his culture and wanted preserve it, I agree. But in the instance of being an airbending instructor, he’s very permissive and you most likely wouldn’t get the most out of training with him.
Water: Hama The most creative waterbender in the series. She invented bloodbending and figured out to draw water from plants and air. This could also be a way for waterbenders to bend air directly, at least during a full moon. Earth: Toph Arguably the best earthbender of all time, and the inventor of many techniques, including metalbending Fire: Iroh This one is self explanatory. Air: Gyatso This guy took out multiple elite imperial Firebenders while they were amped by the comet, and he is supposed to be a pacifist. Melee combat: Piandao This guy can actually beat 100 men by himself. Meditation/Spirituality: Aang Pretty much self explanatory
@@fodicky4 True tho, what made it funny was that there was no Atla movie, I was laughing at the mistake he made by saying movie, who knows maybe he thought the blue alien Avatar movie was related to the atla series. Here... We are safe
I thought about Meelo too. The kid can airbend out of his ass. He would teach me how to humiliate my opponent before I deliver the finishing blow. The twins are pretty legit too
As the Earth Avatar after Korra, I'm gonna challenge myself and just do Korra characters, because most would probably still be around: Earth: Bolin, he is naturally talented, but also a fun guy to be around. He'd make sure you were getting it before moving on. Air: Jinora, she is very spiritually inclined, and isn't as dogmatic as her father, while still being able to teach the ancient ways quite effectively. Water: This is a tough one... probably Eska and Desna, they are both powerful benders, and it's possible they learned spirit bending. Do have to keep an eye on them, though. Fire: General Iroh, he is military minded, while also knowing when the rules should be bent for the greater good.
Me elemenatal mentors would be: 1: Fire - uncle Iroh: for the same reasons antoine mentioned. 2: Air - Zaheer: guru lahima is a good choice, but i haven’t seen or heard much from him. Zaheer has showcased a unconventional way of bending (more agressive), acient technics that were believed to be impossible and overal a lot of spiritual and historical knowledge. Remember how korra struggeld to get to the spirit world in book 4? Zaheer did it in a couple of seconds. And he also has A LOT of knowledge about airbending overal, which would translate well to his ability to be a airbending mentor. 3: Earth - Bumi: even tho there are many great choices to choose from, bumi was an easy pick for me. He has a solid 112 years knowledge en experience in earthbending. He knows the concept of the jings and understands earth really well. He’ll also probably be a able to learn you to think like a mad genius like he does al the time (thinking outside the box). And he is still at physical peak at 112 years old. So overal the best mentor earthbending wise. (And he’s funny as hell). 4: water - katara: this one was the toughest to decide (hama was a good choice as well), but katara because she is great at every aspect of waterbending (combat, creative use, healing, plants) and she can also blood bend and teach it, if she has to. 5: melee - piandao: no need to explain why. A master swordsman who bested 100 fire nation soldiers speaks for himself.
Here’s my choice Water: Tui and La Fire: Ren and Shaw Air: Sky Bison Earth: Badger Moles There were no rules saying I couldn’t use the original masters of bending lol.
Water: Katara Earth: Suyin Beifong Fire: Iroh Air: Jinora I know that nobody ever says Suyin but she taught Kuvira, her sons, and Korra so I suppose she's a good teacher.
Fire - Roku Air - Gyatso Water - Tarrlok Earth - Toph Spirituality - Pathik Girlfriend - June Bestfriend - Sokka Animal Guide - Fang Nationality - Air Nomad
Here are my picks Fire: Iroh I agree with what you said Air: Monk Gyatso He seemed like he knew what he was doing and even went against the other monks decision on Aang leaving the temple. Water: katara This was a hard choice since at first I wanted to go with Amon since he's probably the strongest bloodbender but I picked katara since she knows how to use and probably learn to resist it. Earth: Suyin We need a go with the flow and she runs her own city... she knows politics at a smaller scale and is a metal bender.
My thoughts: Earth - Toph - she's the one I relate especially well to as someone visually impaired and small. Plus I think there's a lot to learn from her on mental and physical fortitude. Air - Jinora - she is one who is especially in tune with the spirit world and has a blend of both dogmatic tradition and her own insights Water - Katara - I will need someone who can also be comforting as well as creative and resourceful Fire - Iroh - lots of wisdom combined with a mix of application and theory If I'm allowed to have any Avatars, I would switch out Jinora for Yangchen to gain some additional understanding of diplomacy and political games as well as strategy. I would also switch out Toph for Kyoshi to also have additional pragmatism and act as a counterbalance to Yangchen.
Water: Amon Aside from being my favorite character, I'd love to learn bloodbending. Adding that skill to the avatars list would be impressive. As well being avatar im sure through some energy manipulation id be able to do it without a full moon. Air: Zaheer Another favorite, but I also like his way of teaching, how calm he always is and to learn how to fly unassisted. He is also spiritually inclined Earth: Ghazan Ghazan I feel would be like a brother in his teaching. More lax and flexible. And again, lava bending is awesome and another skill to add to the Avatars list. Fire: Iroh For all the reasons listed in this video, as well, he'd be the moral spear head of the team. And a father figure to grow from.
Mine would be Jong Jong, Aang, Hama, and Bumi. I know strange. Jong Jong for his stern and conservative ideology. Great for understanding the importance of temperance and consequence. For a firebending master learning self control and inner peace makes one great not power, anger, or aggression. Aang, brings levity and freedom while also learning how to negotiate and being a diplomat. Also Aang will teach me how to stand with your convinctions even though others will force there own wills on you. Hama...yes Hama. Now she will bring a sort of anti-Water philosophy that is needed. We hear a lot of being spiritual and building a community when thinking about water. But, it could also lead to conformity, stagnation, and eventually decay. Hama is a broken woman, but a woman that learned that water has many sides some would consider to be unnatural. I believe to be a complete and wise Avatar a broader perspective is needed when dealing with human nature. At the end humans need each other, but they are all indviduals first with their own desires. Bumi. Well first off I want whatever that man was taken to look that good past 100 years. Second. Bumi would be the teacher that will force me use all skills I have learned and see them differently. Perspectives. Also learning patience when handling conflict, knowing when to speak up or act. Knowing when to defend or retreat. But always never stop listening.
Slevin Channel he’s a fire bending master and an honorary member of the order of the white lotus, do you really think the extent of his knowledge only spreads so far to know “ FiRe DeStrUcTive”?
Dude, never gonna be a big enough fan to think this in-depth about the topic! But I’m all in for lookin into your thoughts and opinions of one of the greatest animations ever
@@sowhatnow8971 Not really. From the looks of it, Ming-Hua was just toying with her and Kya was really just giving her more ammo with each attack. She only made one legitimate blow and Ming-Hua recovered in a micro sec. The only challenging opponent Ming-Hua faced in the series was Mako.
zaheer was nothing in comper with a real master like tenzin so hell no not him. tenzin is not spiritual so jinora maybe better choice other than aang amon was good but definitaly wasnt master bender he just abused his power. a real master bender in that department is hard to choose but ill go with katara who eventually got great.
Zaheer was an expert martial artist and spiritual leader. He was very good. I'd say just a little less than a master like tenzin. But what do you expect? He only got his bending for just a few days. I'm sure he'll be a master if given more time. Not to mention he was self-taught.
I really, really like your approach. I've seen a few of these team avatar videos now and all of them have to do with bending types and styles and special abilities like combustion bending or lava bending. Your approach to have wisdom based team mates is fantastic. Not all of the avatars challenges will be physical; many will be emotional or political. Having people like iroh and katara is a great choice because (insert spiderman motto here). One thing I find missing from all these videos is a non bender. Soka was a non bender but also a great planer and at times leader not just comic relief. I think having a person like Varic will round out the team because hes a savant. He can do things that benders couldnt dream of because of his intelligence and unique perspective. anyway... +1
My choice: Water: Unalaq Earth: Toph Fire: Iroh Air: Zaheer This choice is more balanced in my opinion. They have faults that would be countered by their strengths. In my opinion, the OP's choice is slightly too soft and would not be proactive enough in conflict situations.
Fire - Zuko: Alongside being a master of fire, he's very very grounded and a good hand-to-hand combat instructor Air - Aang: Laidback is fine given the rest of the squad, plus good insight into the spirits, and might help in other elements Water - Unalaq: As you said, exemplary water bending technique, plus spirit bending, and (regardless of how he made use of it) proficient in the political sphere Earth - Suyin: Decent with earth, amazing with metal, nurturer, and politically minded (With side lessons from bolin in lava bending :p)
Excellent video Antoine, never thought of this idea before. If I were the Avatar here is my master Water: Amon- I choose him mainly to learn the ways of bloodbending and chi-blocking plus I get to learn how to be a great orator as well as a strategist Earth: Kuvira- I choose here to learn both earth bending and metal bending plus learning how to lead and conquer nations Fire: Ozai- I choose him to lead nations and dominate others. And to learn firebending and lightning bending as well Air: Zaheer- I want to learn the aggressive way of airbending and to learn the secret to unassisted flight. Plus I get spiritual training from Zaheer as well So basically, it's the Chessmaster, the Conqueror, the Ruler, and the Anarchist With those skills, I shall conquer and rule the world as an unbeatable Avatar
cat boy Azula might not be a good teacher though. Prodigies/geniuses tend to have trouble teaching others because their skill is innate to them, it’s harder for them to explain how other people are supposed to do it. There’s every possibility that she might be a good teacher, but I wouldn’t pick her only cause she’s powerful.
@@creaturesoul4469 dude azula had some psychological troubles but she was only 14 at that time with treatment and age she could have turned out to be a good teacher and the avatar team needs a strategist as well
This video has interesting info on teaching styles and why some teaching styles might be better than others. I train a lot of people at work and have trained many people throughout my life. This video gave me some things to think about. Deep stuff here.
Water: Ming Hua Earth: Kuvira Fire: Azula Air: Zaheer Maybe I'd end up as a bad guy, but these would be mine. I think all four have a similar style that is very precise and quick, they also do a lot with their respective element without needing to actually use a lot of it. Their sort of style of fighting are what I seem to gravitate to the most. Don't think they would get along though, other than Zaheer and Ming Hua. Azula and Kuvira are everything Zaheer and Ming Hua hate, while both Azula and Kuvira seem like they would both fight for the position to lead. Azula and Kuvira are almost opposites in the way they think too, seeing as how one believes that you are born to rule and the other thinks that way of thinking is archaic.
This was so much fun to listen to. I especially liked your last choice. Never heard of that earth bender before but i get the impression he would teach the avatar with an ulterior motive. I can see the avatar being manipulated by him and will need the help of his other masters to see the truth. That would be awesome to watch for a new season since the two shows we have now usually have the avatar in the right. I would like to see the avatar be in the wrong and low key be a villain
I think that Suyin also has some political/diplomatic knowledge because of her leadership and foundation of her city. She built the Zao Fu (I think it’s called) from scratch including guards and community-building activities such as the metal-dance-club thingy we see her doing when we first meet her character. So I would say she could provide those values as well.
Boomy and Iroh are wise, Boomy explains himself, and Iroh sometimes will too. Katara brings the nurturing and gently, positive reinforcement.Jinorra is not only a airbender who earned her Tattoos very young, but also is really in touch with her spirit, which would greatly help me as the avatar in working as the bridge between spirit and mortal.
Fire: Azula. I feel like she would be stern. She would obviously be more fierce and it would translate into a high risk high reward fighting style. Plus i think having that constant battle with a crazy person would be interesting and help you grow as a person to realize all the different type of people. Earth: king Bumi. Again, he's crazy and wise at the same time. Water: Swamp bender guy that idr his name. Crazy again and in tune with nature. Air: Meelo. I feel that he likely grew up to be a great ait bender that was creative with his technique. I would hope that training with all these crazy people, it will help you think outside the box and come up with your own inventive ways of using your abilities
Going with the flow of if I was next, which would start at Earth. Toph for ability to wait and strike with intelligent but straightforward attacks. Iroh for fire to have spirituality. Ty Lee for air and evasion and chi blocking as an alternative or addition to attacks. And finally Katara as she had difficulty learning her element at first which may give her insight which I could use if I ever struggled while learning the elements.
Fire:Iroh for his wisdom, lighting generation & redirection Air:Zaheer because taking air from people & I'll have Iroh wisdom already and don't need more from monks Water:Katara because the same reasons & blood bending Earth:Bumi because I like his ways outside of bending and he can teach me neutral Gene along with bending crystal
Since Netflix got a contract with the creators to create avatar content (live-action), one thing i understood was the fact that the contract isnt limited to the live-action, so there is some space to speculate on wether or not there will be another avatar cartoon, which would be AWESOME since the universe of Avatar has so much to talk about
Jeong jeong isn’t going to teach you allot, because he views fire more as a fore of destruction rather than one of life, he kinda hates his own element so no
For fire I'd choose Iroh, I just feel like he's the obvious choice and I also imagine he's the one you guys had all the overlap in. For Earth I'd choose King Bumi. Sure, Toph might be the better earthbender but Bumi is nothing short of a master himself, besides, due to Toph's unusual bending style (based on a completely different martial art) I think I'd have trouble learning from different sources as well. Aside from Earthbending though, Bumi has the same old wise man kinda idea Iroh does, except in a completely different way, most obviously with thinking out of the box, get creative with your solutions to problems, but also with his extreme devotion to neutral Jing. Seriously, he was waiting in a metal cell for probably months before acting because he waited for the right moment. Maybe that's a bit too extreme but it's still something worth learning. For Air I'd go with Jinorah. She's a good air bender and she's really good with spirits and then there's the astral projection, which is an ability nobody else has. Even if she can't quite teach me that, I'd like to be good with spirits like that. Also, I already have two old wise men on my team so having a young girl is a nice change of pace. When it comes to water, I think maybe Hama, particularly because she can summon water from thin air, which completely nullifies the main limitation of water. Now, Katara is also able to do so but she never seems to do that. However, she'd probably not vibe too well with Iroh, because he's a firebender. So, Aside from Hama, Tarrlok might be the guy to go for. Aside from also being able to blood bend and being a very powerful waterbender in his own right, he also has that political thing you mentioned. Which my group as of now is kinda lacking. Something else my group is kinda lacking is a metalbender. But I don't think that's too essential, besides, considering everyone apparently knows it by the time Korra comes around, I'm sure I could learn it from another source. So yeah. Iroh, Bumi, Jinorah and Tarrlok.
I wouldn't want to limit myself to one particular teacher per style. Different people had different relationship to how they bend and everything that goes into that, even in the same style. I think I would definitely been a native earth bender. Toph, Bumi, Bolin, Avatar Kyoshi, the Dai Li, the sand benders all have different aspects about them and their understanding of earth bending I find valuable and I would want to be exposed to. Sozin, Avatar "Jafar", Avatar Roku, Iroh, Zuko, Azula, and combustion bends all have value to me. Zaheer, Avatar Aang, Avatar Korra, Gyatso, Jinora, and Yangchen. Then for waterbending Katara, Hama, Amon, Unalaq, the healers, and the swamp benders. Ideally also getting exposed to the original animal masters of the four elements and learning from them
Only question is how combustion bending functions and can it even be learned. There are only 2 combustion benders that we know of and they aren't exactly good teacher material
Water: Kuruk - being able to fight 1 v 1 seems like a specialty that I would enjoy learning under him . Plus you know go with the flow man Earth: Ghazan - powerful, resourceful and relaxed Fire: Iroh - I enjoy his wisdom, but also think he would be able to mix in jokes with hard training Air: Gyatso - Excellent air bender and one that would for sure assist in keeping the balance.
I think my teachers would be Earth: bolin for lava bending I feel he would be encouraging and able to point out my mistakes while also knowing how to use the element Air: zaheer clearly knows his stuff and has more aggressive options of bending Water: Katara she knew every type of sub element and blood bending and healing would come in very useful Fire: iroh we’ve seen him as a teacher and with the amount of stuff he knows he would be the perfect mentor But if I wanted a team avatar as in a group of friends I’d want Bolin Korra Zuko Aang Sokka Toph
It was really hard to pick, but I think this would be my list. Airbending Master - Monk Gyatso Firebending Master - Rangi Earthbending Master - Kuvira Waterbending Master - Pakku I wanted a balance of skilled, wise knowledge, combined with young, unconventional ways of thinking and bending. The best thing you can be in a fight is smart, but also unpredictable, and I feel that these four would provide me that.
Water: Katara - Actually pretty slim pickings in terms of good role models who are also master benders. Hanna is a psychotic puppeteer who will one day murder the entire team if they don't do what she says. I think for much of what we have seen, Amon (who is no doubt the most powerful bender we know of in the entire series) strayed too far from classic waterbending into more energy bending and bloodbending, and I doubt he'll be a good teacher to a novice bender. Katara has a nurturing and good spirit, is loyal to a fault and only took a short time to completely master waterbending. Earth: Kuvira - Apart from being a masterful earthbender, she has the no-nonsense attitude and drive for success that every team avatar needs. Sometimes the avatar needs someone to tell it like it is, and you'll never have that problem with Kuvira around. Also her precision with metal bending and agility in combat will make her an excellent teacher/sparring partner. She also has a soft side which we saw at the end when Korra saved her from the death ray(also considered Gyansuu but he maybe too manipulative to work well with the rest of the team) Fire: Iroh.. no explanations needed. Plus I love tea. Plus his easy-going nature will temper the hot-blooded nature of Kuvira and... Air: Zaheer: While he only gained airbending in adulthood, his understanding of the element was second to none. Within weeks of getting airbending, he mastered the ultimate skill of flight, which had only been used 4000 years before his time. And that was no fluke because we saw that he was able to evade all attacks from Korra in the avatar state, the only other time we saw someone do this was when Ozai was fleeing from Aang during the comet. Tho he lost his 1 v 1 fight with Tenzin, you would expect that, condisering Tenzin was a master bender who had been trained since birth. He is also a very spiritual person and can easily pass between both worlds with ease. In many ways I believe he is the ultimate airbender. I think the balance in this team will be intriguing considering Kuvira (total control freak) vs Zaheer (no rules) vs Iroh (this is the way it has to be done, and also drink tea) vs Katara (let's do what you want, as long as you're happy)
Water: Katara - she's nurturing, but she'll push you in a constructive way. Earth: Kuvira - she really opened my eyes to how amazing/useful metalbending is. I also love how controlled & confident she is, never using more power or force than she needs. She reminds me of Azula. Fire: Iroh - he would teach me to firebend properly, not just to use fire as a weapon of destruction. He would also give so much life wisdom (and make some bomb ass tea!) Air: Gyatso - I would learn so much that's unknown about airbender culture & ancient techniques that Aang, Tenzin, and Zaheer didn't know about. He also just seems like a cool, kind dude.
I would have Iroh as my fire master(for his wisdom), Katara as my water master(for the pure power that she holds and in my opinion she is one of the strongest non-avatar benders known to us), Lin as my earth master(for her strict attitude and approach that will teach me discipline) and Jinora as my airbending master(for her spirituality). I would also be born in the fire nation in a time of war(to make it more challenging)
Fire - Wan!! Air - Tenzin, because he is badass and never gives up (episode 11, season 3) Water - tonraq because he is so fking cool! Earth - Bumi, he is strong and you always need a funny guy
Cabbage man I’m sorry? Wan is sick! He is the purest and coolest fire bender! He is great and if you disagree with that you don’t deserve to watch avatar the last airbender and the legend of Korra
What you said about aang meeting all the prodigies was a thought of mine too but then I thought about it more. Zuko is a very good firebender because of the breeding within the family and he hunted aang for his HONOR. Toph was a masterful bender because of her blindness. And the swamp led aang to her. The only lucky one who was an actual prodigy by luck is katara.
Ok so i'm loving this and it sounds way too fun for me to not put my own list right here. I think in general what i was missing a lot from both the shows (i havent read any books or novels) was more creative applications of bending, a more trickster-like approach to fighting your opponents in an indirect way. I think that all bending disciplines could learn a lot from Air Bending in that regard, which is why my first choice for a master would be Aang for airbending, though to be honest, it is kind of a tie beetween him and Zaheer. Both are, in essence, free-thinkers and tricksters, both in their philosophy and in their fighting style. And while they express that in very different ways, i think that kind of starting point, that receptiveness to think outside of the box is exactly the catalyst needed to create this trickery and deceptive style of bending. I would probably resort to having Zaheer as my teacher and would communicate with Aang through meditation to kind of temper Zaheers more radical ideas and views about airbending. As for earth, i'm gonna go with King Bumi. He fits the general trickster mentality perfectly and is very aware of the importance of being patient and receptive if one wants to truly master the element of earth. I am also going to cheat a bit and have Suyin be my metal bending teacher, as her political experience, generally diplomatic and pacifist outlook and skillset in both metal bending and feeling vibrations in the earth like her mother Toph taught her are simply to valuable for an Avatar not to learn them. For waterbending, i feel like i have probably the most unusual choice so far with Huu from the big swamp. The reason i feel like he would be an esspecially great asset to this group of teachers is that he is so far the only known waterbender to have developed the ability to fully control plants through his waterbending. He also already was one of the most important teachers for Avatar Aang as he taught him how to connect with the wolrd around him and has a very unique and philosophically interesting perspective that looks far beyond the borders of nations or other surface level seperations, instead just viewing our world as the big organism it is, connected with each other by the very fact that we're all alive, breathing the same air as every other living being around us. And finally, for Firebending Uncle Iroh would the obvious choice. However, as great and wise as he is, what i feel lacking from this group of teachers so far is an element of discipline and restraint, which is why i opted for Jong-Jong instead. He is acutely aware of the dangers of fire-bending, should it fall into the wrong hands and would provide some much needed stricture in guiding my learning process as an Avatar. On top of that, he also deploys a very non-violent style of fire-bending, using it to control areas and dissuade aggressors from coming closer or using it as a tool of deception to escape, rather than fighting his opponent head-on. I dont think Jong-Jong alone is going to cut it though, as, while he might be the perfect mentor to teach a masterful level of control and restraint in the handling of fire, his outlook is a very bitter and scarred one and it lacks the sense of spirituality needed to really tap into fire-bendings full potential. So as an additional consultant in that matter, i would choose the shaman consulted by the Bhanti tribe to learn about the pretty underrepresented spiritual side of fire bending.
For me it would be Zuko, Jinora, Katara, and Su. You pretty much explained my reasoning for Su and Katara, and Jinora has pretty much all of Tenzin's best points w/o his stubbornness. I chose Zuko over Iroh tho because he has Iroh's mentality with a touch more relatability. He struggled to be like his Uncle so I think he would be able to relate more to trying to be a better person.
Nation: water tribe (south) Air: Aang Reason: because of how much a pacifist he is and I totally agree with I tried vegetarianism and also he’s funny kind and he will help me to always try my best not to hurt someone but to help them change(like Zuko) and with peacekeeping skills he will help me be a great avatar. Huh an avatar helping an avatar 😂😱 Water: Amon Reason: now here me out let’s say he’s not a bad guy he’s has a good childhood but he is still an equalist, so I would want him not just for his bending skills but his physical skill as well. Let’s say he makes the equalist for good but (like the dai li) they turn bad and they take my bending (temp) I need to be able to defend myself he could teach me not only bending but physical prowess could increase exceptionally. Earth: King Bumi or Ghazan Reason: he is an amazing earthbender and a funny guy so I need someone like that in my group to lift my spirits when I’m down. Also the three Jings will be helpful for if I’m blinded in a fight and to really learn earth and it’s Bumi cmon. But Ghazan is an incredible earthbender and lava bender I also wanna be the first lava bending avatar but with his ambitions it might be a hard pass for him, but he brought down a mountain so idk. Fire: Zuko Reason: I need an emo XD but I also need lightning redirection also he is a prodigy in fire bending and he would make an awesome pal. Also he was taught by the dragons so he learned the original fire bending that’s handy including he has knowledge of duel swords and I LOVE SWORDS 🗡 so Zuko all the way I introduce my a Team Avatar
My picks: Water: Amon Aside from master-level waterbending and possibly bloodbending, the guy could pass down to me how to think strategically and efficiently. Amon was a strategic genious and had always everything planned out. A mastermind like him would be useful. Also, even without bending, his martial arts skills were impeccable. I thought about choosing Ming-Hua, because of how creatively she used waterbending, or Katara, for obvious reasons, but Amon's non-bending skills and mind gave him an edge, along with him being an excellent waterbender. Earth: Yun For those who don't know, he was Kyoshi's best friend in the novels. Yun is basically Jianzhu, but even better. Having been taught by the latter, Yun knew very well how politics worked and his knowledge is very valuable. Also, because he was thought be the Avatar for some time, he became familiar with the other bending arts, which led him to combine them with earthbending. Because of that, he was incredibly creative with the art and used earth like no one else. Also, he is a quite fun guy to be around with, and that is also needed, let's not forget. Fire: Iroh Not much to clarify here, Iroh would teach me master-level firebending and lightningbending (and also I imagine he would have at least some knowledge about combustionbending, which I'd like to be instructed in), and besides that, philosophical discussions with him over a cup of jasmine tea and a board of Pai Sho would be basically my motivation to wake up every morning. Air: Jinora Finally, my airbending master would also be my guide to the spiritual aspect of being the Avatar. No one has such a strong connection with the spirits as Jinora, she could show me even how to use spiritual projection, and of course proficient airbending. And on top of all that, she'd be a fantastic friend (and also the serious peer who'd scold me and Yun for our immature behaviour)
Hey Antoine, had some ideas for potential videos. Following your avatar power scaling videos, how would you scale the white lotus group with Iroh, Jeong Jeong, Bumi, Paku, and Pian Dao? How would you scale the red lotus? How do you think a battle between these groups would go? Love your content
I'd choose the same for reasons you mentioned, but now I'm thinking of a radical team. Azula as fire, Kuvira as earth, Unolok or the Amon as water and Zaheer as air. These benders are peerless in skill and although quite villainous, they understand their elements well and could be beneficial if they were loyal and dedicated to my cause. This is assuming I beat Zaheer into submission either physically or mentally such that he no longer desires to rid the world of the avatar. Not surprisingly, these individuals will be knowledgable about more than just bending, but politics, war and life in general. The only issue is that they all lack in compassion, so I'd have to be a really good leader for them to find value in that enough to help the avatar bring balance and peace. Despite their personalities, I think life would be interesting with them on my team and there could be quite a lot of laughter.
Water: Katara Earth: Toph Fire: Iroh Air: Jinora Katara, for the combination of regular waterbending, healing, and bloodbending. Toph, due to her unique(!) earthbending techniques (e.g. seismic sense) as well as metalbending. Iroh, for his wisdom as well as fire- and lighteningbending. Jinora, because her spirit connection is unmatched. Further, air and spirit closely resemble each other, and her knowledge of air nomad culture suffices as well. Finally, imagine these four training you simultaneously; they PERFECTLY add to one another. Bloodbending with a strong spirit connection, lightening together with metal... imagine the combination moves you'll come up with.
non avatars. Fire: Ozai (Yes he destroys Iroh mid diff) Water: Katara (hello bloodbending and skill), Earth: Toph (The originator, what kuvira did was not that impressive and theirs nothing that makes me believe that with the same resources other metal benders couldn't accomplish the same feats, also SEISMIC sight), Air: Given consideration to the lack of knowledge we have on most air nomads, gotta give it to Aang, particularly considering he was a airbending master at 12 whereas in Roku's flashback not even gyatso had his tattoos at that age), :Avatars included Fire: Roku (I mean c'mon), Water: Katara, Earth: Still Toph, considering the only avatars to have metal bending is...*cough* korra, and the only one with seismic sense is aang, so don't come at me with that kyoshi BS, Air: Still Aang Not gonna put people like yangchen or kuruk on this list cause from what I can tell not much besides some tsunamis and gust of wind have been shown. Also Ming hua lost to fucking mako, c'mon, she can't even Blood bend. Gyatso is cool but he has no showings aside for him off camera taking out some firebenders before that clapped his shit. Now Katara may lose to Amon, but I can't honestly say if his bending powers without blood bending are on the same par, Roku is still debatable as his fire bending feats are limited, although he did lava bend a volcano and lava bend to destroy the fire sage temple, lava is a sub to earth, also kurvira without a metal tank does NOTHING to toph.
Interesting thought experiment. I like it a lot. One thing though, you forgot one of the super important parts of team Avatar. You didn't pick your non-bender ally. Team Avatar always needs a member to represent the interests of those born without that kind of power and keep that in the Avatar's considerations.
I believe Iroh would agree with my favourite proverb "it's better to be a warrior in a garden than to be a gardener in a war"

Jinora all the way
Jinora is a dope choice.
Νίκος Μελιδονιώτης i would say she has more potential
Yes she has more potential but she could NEVA beat Tenzin in her current status!

everyone saying they want Hama as their waterbending teacher, did y'all forget she's kinda psychotic?
Orca nonetheless she’ll make a great teacher. Plus she doesn’t have any beliefs against extreme measures and you’ll definitely learn even if it’ll kill u
Hama's psychotic response to what was done to her is the most real thing about the show. I would also do what she did if I were in her shoes. Lol
The same could be said for those who chose Azula and Zaheer
she was actually a good teacher towards katara until bloodbending so i'd have her

Water: Katara - same reasons as yours
Earth: Kuvira - powerful, resourceful and intelligent.
Fire: Roku - I like to talk to myself
Air: Gyatso - Excellent air bender and was also willing to protect Aang from the other monks, really good father figure
I’m so happy you said Kuvira. Kuvira’s bending is where Earth bending should be going.
i laughed when i read your reasons for roku
I thought kuvira gave metal benders a bad name😂
roku! lmao
Why not choose Amon for water?
My choices-
•Earth: Suyin Beifong~ Nurture motherly figure. Progressive, somewhat politically experienced as she runs a city.
•Fire: Iroh ~ wise, relaxing, but a firmly encouraging person
•Water: Ming Hua ~ Versatile, agressive, adaptable, merciless. (Unique bending style)
•Air: Jinora ~ Spirituality connected, leadership skills, levelheaded.
I love Ming hua
I don’t think Aang would be permissive. His rigor to preserving his heritage is why Tenzin IS so dogmatic.
To be fair, before Tenzin was born, Aang was, well, the last Airbender, so it’s understandable why he’d strive to preserve his heritage.
Perry Bolander Of course
Many people list Rick and Morty higher than Avatar... that's just sad.
Just so sad...
Water: Hama
The most creative waterbender in the series. She invented bloodbending and figured out to draw water from plants and air. This could also be a way for waterbenders to bend air directly, at least during a full moon.
Earth: Toph
Arguably the best earthbender of all time, and the inventor of many techniques, including metalbending
Fire: Iroh
This one is self explanatory.
Air: Gyatso
This guy took out multiple elite imperial Firebenders while they were amped by the comet, and he is supposed to be a pacifist.
Melee combat: Piandao
This guy can actually beat 100 men by himself.
Meditation/Spirituality: Aang
Pretty much self explanatory
Νίκος Μελιδονιώτης honestly you have one of the best lists
OMG MINE WAS THE EXACT SAME EXCEPT FOR THE SPIRITUAL ONE (i would choose guru pathik)
For spiritual I’d choose Jinora because of her strong ass connection to spirits as she showed in Korra
Hama is kinda crazy tho
Νίκος Μελιδονιώτης gyatso most likely vacuumed the room out of air suffocating him and the firebenders also because they need air to firebend.

As the Earth Avatar after Korra, I'm gonna challenge myself and just do Korra characters, because most would probably still be around:
Earth: Bolin, he is naturally talented, but also a fun guy to be around.
I like your style
Me elemenatal mentors would be:
1: Fire - uncle Iroh: for the same reasons antoine mentioned.
Zaheer? Why tho?
He may be good at airbending but he is not an airbending master
Aang or tenzin would make better mentors

Here are my picks
Fire: Iroh
I agree with what you said
Air: Monk Gyatso
He seemed like he knew what he was doing and even went against the other monks decision on Aang leaving the temple.
Water: katara
This was a hard choice since at first I wanted to go with Amon since he's probably the strongest bloodbender but I picked katara since she knows how to use and probably learn to resist it.
Earth: Suyin
We need a go with the flow and she runs her own city... she knows politics at a smaller scale and is a metal bender.
My thoughts:
Earth - Toph - she's the one I relate especially well to as someone visually impaired and small. Plus I think there's a lot to learn from her on mental and physical fortitude.
Air - Jinora - she is one who is especially in tune with the spirit world and has a blend of both dogmatic tradition and her own insights
Water - Katara - I will need someone who can also be comforting as well as creative and resourceful
Fire - Iroh - lots of wisdom combined with a mix of application and theory
If I'm allowed to have any Avatars, I would switch out Jinora for Yangchen to gain some additional understanding of diplomacy and political games as well as strategy. I would also switch out Toph for Kyoshi to also have additional pragmatism and act as a counterbalance to Yangchen.
Earth: Kiyoshi
Air: Yang Chen
Water: Amon
Fire: Iroh
My choice of bending masters is self explanatory lol
@Japhet Tshimbela it's called Four Legendary Masters. You're not making a team Avatar you're trying to find great teachers.
You’re right
@@saulgoodman110 actually it is both masters and team avatar
Water: Amon
Aside from being my favorite character, I'd love to learn bloodbending. Adding that skill to the avatars list would be impressive. As well being avatar im sure through some energy manipulation id be able to do it without a full moon.
Air: Zaheer
Another favorite, but I also like his way of teaching, how calm he always is and to learn how to fly unassisted. He is also spiritually inclined
Earth: Ghazan
Ghazan I feel would be like a brother in his teaching. More lax and flexible. And again, lava bending is awesome and another skill to add to the Avatars list.
Fire: Iroh
For all the reasons listed in this video, as well, he'd be the moral spear head of the team.
But always never stop listening.
which bumi?
@@Richard-uz1zx ok 👌
Jong Jong only knows Fire is destructiv. He knows so little about Firebending it actually confuses me.

Zaheer was an expert martial artist and spiritual leader. He was very good. I'd say just a little less than a master like tenzin. But what do you expect? He only got his bending for just a few days. I'm sure he'll be a master if given more time. Not to mention he was self-taught.

I do. They have the best abilities in the series.
Prodigies/geniuses tend to have trouble teaching others because their skill is innate to them, it’s harder for them to explain how other people are supposed to do it. Water: Ming Hua
Earth: Kuvira
Fire: Azula
Air: Zaheer
Maybe I'd end up as a bad guy, but these would be mine.
I love this idea for a video. These are some thought provoking choices too
Water: Ming Hua (adaptability, instinct)
Earth: Suyin (accountability, leadership)
Fire: Jeong Jeong (discipline, willpower)
Air: Yangchen (awareness, self reflection)
This was so much fun to listen to. I especially liked your last choice. Never heard of that earth bender before but i get the impression he would teach the avatar with an ulterior motive. I can see the avatar being manipulated by him and will need the help of his other masters to see the truth. That would be awesome to watch for a new season since the two shows we have now usually have the avatar in the right. I would like to see the avatar be in the wrong and low key be a villain
Yo Im pretty sure your door was slowly opening btw love the content
Likely the cat.

Yoooo, forgot about you until I saw your face on that jubilee thumbnail
Water: Kuruk - being able to fight 1 v 1 seems like a specialty that I would enjoy learning under him
. Plus you know go with the flow man
Earth: Ghazan - powerful, resourceful and relaxed
Fire: Iroh - I enjoy his wisdom, but also think he would be able to mix in jokes with hard training
Air: Gyatso - Excellent air bender and one that would for sure assist in keeping the balance.
I think my teachers would be
Earth: bolin for lava bending I feel he would be encouraging and able to point out my mistakes while also knowing how to use the element
Air: zaheer clearly knows his stuff and has more aggressive options of bending
Water: Katara she knew every type of sub element and blood bending and healing would come in very useful
Fire: iroh we’ve seen him as a teacher and with the amount of stuff he knows he would be the perfect mentor
But if I wanted a team avatar as in a group of friends I’d want
Bolin
Korra
Zuko
Aang
Sokka
Toph
I chose bolin too
It was really hard to pick, but I think this would be my list.
Airbending Master - Monk Gyatso
Firebending Master - Rangi
Earthbending Master - Kuvira
Waterbending Master - Pakku
I wanted a balance of skilled, wise knowledge, combined with young, unconventional ways of thinking and bending. The best thing you can be in a fight is smart, but also unpredictable, and I feel that these four would provide me that.
Fire: Zuko
Earth: Bolin
Water: Tarrlok
Fighting style: Ty Lee
Air: My element is air so🤙🏽
Came passed your channel and i love it you just gained a new subscriber ❤️
She also has a soft side which we saw at the end when Korra saved her from the death ray(also considered Gyansuu but he maybe too manipulative to work well with the rest of the team)
Fire: Iroh.. no explanations needed.
Great idea for a vid!! I’d go with Iroh, Yangchen, Amon, and Su Yin
Air: Apple
Fire: Amazon
Earth: Google
Water: Ozarka
...wait a *min* Ute..?
oh my god saaammmeeeeee
except for water. i'd probably choose android
5rd it’s because there’s a MacBook Air, amazon fire, and google earth. Idk what ozarka isn’t tho
Earth is Microsoft, Water and Air work as either Google or Apple, Fire works perfect for Amazon lol
Clever lel
Water: Katara - she's nurturing, but she'll push you in a constructive way.
Earth: Kuvira - she really opened my eyes to how amazing/useful metalbending is. I also love how controlled & confident she is, never using more power or force than she needs. She reminds me of Azula.
Fire: Iroh - he would teach me to firebend properly, not just to use fire as a weapon of destruction. He would also give so much life wisdom (and make some bomb ass tea!)
Air: Gyatso - I would learn so much that's unknown about airbender culture & ancient techniques that Aang, Tenzin, and Zaheer didn't know about. He also just seems like a cool, kind dude.
My masters
Fire: iroh
Air: tenzin
Water: Hama
Earth: kuvira
Best buddy: azula
Get Azula out now
😐
I would have Iroh as my fire master(for his wisdom), Katara as my water master(for the pure power that she holds and in my opinion she is one of the strongest non-avatar benders known to us), Lin as my earth master(for her strict attitude and approach that will teach me discipline) and Jinora as my airbending master(for her spirituality). I would also be born in the fire nation in a time of war(to make it more challenging)
Fire - Wan!!
Air - Tenzin, because he is badass and never gives up (episode 11, season 3)
Water - tonraq because he is so fking cool!
Earth - Bumi, he is strong and you always need a funny guy
You have all these amazing firebenders to choose from and you choose Wan??
Cabbage man I’m sorry? Wan is sick! He is the purest and coolest fire bender! He is great and if you disagree with that you don’t deserve to watch avatar the last airbender and the legend of Korra
Cabbage man IN FACT, YOU DON’T DESERVE TO WATCH ATLA 🌚🌝
Cabbage man well we’re both cabbage mans so we have to work together😂😁
Cabbage man insert horrid Henry’s “NOOOOOOO”
What you said about aang meeting all the prodigies was a thought of mine too but then I thought about it more. Zuko is a very good firebender because of the breeding within the family and he hunted aang for his HONOR. Toph was a masterful bender because of her blindness. And the swamp led aang to her. The only lucky one who was an actual prodigy by luck is katara.
Air: Tenzin
Water: Katara
Earth: Toph
Fire: Iroh
Every Team Avatar needs a non bender like Sokka or Asami to keep them humble.
Fire: Iroh
Air:Aang🐐
Water: Amon
Earth:Toph
Maybe Gyatso
"COUGH movie COUGH, sorry had something stuck in my throat" HAHAHA
How is Iroh not a nurturer?
You could have had meelo and learned fart bending what are you doing
For me it would be Zuko, Jinora, Katara, and Su. You pretty much explained my reasoning for Su and Katara, and Jinora has pretty much all of Tenzin's best points w/o his stubbornness. I chose Zuko over Iroh tho because he has Iroh's mentality with a touch more relatability. He struggled to be like his Uncle so I think he would be able to relate more to trying to be a better person.
Nation: water tribe (south)
Air: Aang
Reason: because of how much a pacifist he is and I totally agree with I tried vegetarianism and also he’s funny kind and he will help me to always try my best not to hurt someone but to help them change(like Zuko) and with peacekeeping skills he will help me be a great avatar. Huh an avatar helping an avatar 😂😱
Water: Amon
Reason: now here me out let’s say he’s not a bad guy he’s has a good childhood but he is still an equalist, so I would want him not just for his bending skills but his physical skill as well. Let’s say he makes the equalist for good but (like the dai li) they turn bad and they take my bending (temp) I need to be able to defend myself he could teach me not only bending but physical prowess could increase exceptionally.
Earth: King Bumi or Ghazan
Reason: he is an amazing earthbender and a funny guy so I need someone like that in my group to lift my spirits when I’m down.
Fire: Zuko
Reason: I need an emo XD but I also need lightning redirection also he is a prodigy in fire bending and he would make an awesome pal. Also he was taught by the dragons so he learned the original fire bending that’s handy including he has knowledge of duel swords and I LOVE SWORDS 🗡 so Zuko all the way
I introduce my a Team Avatar
Elo?
My picks:
Water: Amon
Aside from master-level waterbending and possibly bloodbending, the guy could pass down to me how to think strategically and efficiently.
Earth: Yun
For those who don't know, he was Kyoshi's best friend in the novels.
Fire: Iroh
Not much to clarify here, Iroh would teach me master-level firebending and lightningbending (and also I imagine he would have at least some knowledge about combustionbending, which I'd like to be instructed in), and besides that, philosophical discussions with him over a cup of jasmine tea and a board of Pai Sho would be basically my motivation to wake up every morning.
Air: Jinora
Finally, my airbending master would also be my guide to the spiritual aspect of being the Avatar. No one has such a strong connection with the spirits as Jinora, she could show me even how to use spiritual projection, and of course proficient airbending. And on top of all that, she'd be a fantastic friend (and also the serious peer who'd scold me and Yun for our immature behaviour)
Water: Huu
Earth: Suyin
Fire: Iroh
Air: Gyatso
Yesss. Huu is often way overlooked.
Water: Katara. Earth: suyin . Air: Jinora Fire: Iroh
Gyazo
Air: Jenora
Fire: Iroh
Earth: Suyin
Water: Kya
I agree! 🖐🏼
Water: Katara
Earth: Toph
Fire: Iroh
Air: Jinora
Katara, for the combination of regular waterbending, healing, and bloodbending.
Fire: Ozai (Yes he destroys Iroh mid diff)
Water: Katara (hello bloodbending and skill),
Earth: Toph (The originator, what kuvira did was not that impressive and theirs nothing that makes me believe that with the same resources other metal benders couldn't accomplish the same feats, also SEISMIC sight),
Air: Given consideration to the lack of knowledge we have on most air nomads, gotta give it to Aang, particularly considering he was a airbending master at 12 whereas in Roku's flashback not even gyatso had his tattoos at that age),
:Avatars included
Fire: Roku (I mean c'mon),
Water: Katara,
Earth: Still Toph, considering the only avatars to have metal bending is...*cough* korra, and the only one with seismic sense is aang, so don't come at me with that kyoshi BS,
Air: Still Aang
Not gonna put people like yangchen or kuruk on this list cause from what I can tell not much besides some tsunamis and gust of wind have been shown.
Just watched your jubilee episode and barley realized it was you but recognized your face 😂😂
Earth: Kyoshi
Fire: Roku
Air: Aang
Water: Korra
That was too easy
I like your reasoning for picking Guru Laghima. It’s kinda like how Toph and Katara has clashing methods of teaching Aang.
Man-child indeed
Interesting thought experiment. I like it a lot. One thing though, you forgot one of the super important parts of team Avatar. You didn't pick your non-bender ally. Team Avatar always needs a member to represent the interests of those born without that kind of power and keep that in the Avatar's considerations.
