YOURE TELLING ME THEY SCRAPED BOOK 4 CUZ OF A HORRIBLE LIVE ACTION MOVIE
WHY AREN’T WE RIOTING
Who says we aren’t
stupid executives make stupid decisions. For some reason poor film returns = "oh people don't like this IP"
There was a movie?.I totally forgot about that.Well I shall forget it once more
Thirdie SAN I forgot it tell this got brought up
Because that was a disproven rumor
I can’t believe they prioritize the movie over a book 4
Casey Hansen
Maybe we'll get a book four with the new live action series they're making
Wyatt Guilliams ouff no
@@wyattguilliams2621 the live action series will suck as badly as the movie. Avatar works best as an animated series ..... not everything can be changed into a live action version

it wasn't exactly his fault. he was on a balloon thousands of feet in the air surrounded by dozens of enemies and it was practically thrown out of his hands.

The movie changed my outlook on avatar, I would've loved the fourth season.
4th season for what? A:TLA? CBA watching video here for the comments lmao.

Yeah and maybe Azula’s redemption
@@sillygoose42069 yes, in the comics her character is fucked. Crazy Azula gets old really fast. If you think about it the way azula turned out wasn't her fault so I think redemption might work.

I wish I could forget watching ATLA just to watch it all over again.
I just finished rewatching the show. Last time I watched it was when it first came out 15 years ago. So much nostalgia it hurt.
It is so good... i’m so speechless
I just rewatched it too. I'll prob rewatch it again in a few months
Same, dude
I tried to explain that I wanted to do that. but my friend didn't understand. avatar is a masterpiece
It wasn't the crown that crushed Azula. It was the collapse of her identity, when Mai and Ty Lee betray her, she is shocked as her belief is that fear is the only way. That's why she is paranoid about everyone betraying her, and she banishes the Di Li. Everything she built was built on fear, but now that is being questioned.
Yeah, and her mother too
Yeah, I found it interesting that he even mentioned the video of Azula’s psychology and then came to the conclusion “it’s because she’s nervous about being a leader!”
applauding starts
The Netflix series sounds promising, but the animated show will always be the definitive version.
I'm holding out strained optimism for the Netflix series. So far Netflix has only made very few mediocre to sub-par content. The fact it's going to be live action is what has me really worried. Avatar isn't a live action series. It's supposed to be animated. But who knows maybe Netflix pulls something out of their rear and makes a masterpiece. Now something I am very much looking forward to is Netflix's adaptation of the Narnia books. Supposedly they're going to be turning each book into their own films and then having spin-off series of characters, which was the idea they pitched to the C.S Lewis Estate, and apparently they loved it and gave Netflix the rights.
@@ReinSouls netflix has made som great stuff though (daredevil)
@@ReinSouls Yeah, a live-action remake sounds like a cash grab. Like Disney's live-action remakes of their cartoons. Only Disney has way more money and effects power at their disposal.
@@jessamydelpapa3986 yes but this one has the original writers working on it. And Netflix will let them do their thing, at least i believe they will
so we have the AMAZING animated show series, the comic books, the promising Netflix series, and the 2 movies no one ever talks about lol
Y'all are forgetting the most important part that the show has and the comics don't..
A GREAT SOUNDTRACK
the ending of this video reminded me of that :') God such a great show
Oh my God I know.. I wish they would release the full score on Spotify
Charles Parnell the soundtrack is decent nothing too special, loK has what I would call a great soundtrack
0 I think that in general most of the tracks are alright. They’re good, but not among the greatest musical scores of all time or anything. However, there are a few tracks that are just so good. The music at the beginning and end of each episode stand out, as well as a few of the fight tracks.
Logan Sanders thats a roundabout way of saying the soundtrack is alright
The main thing that would have happened would have been
A LIFE-CHANGING ADVENTURE WITH ZUKO AND TOPH
I would have liked that
she already had life changing time with iroh
YES.
Waaaaaah hahahhhaa.
Two of my favorite characters.
It saddens me that Toph didn't get her moment, where her parents realize her uniqueness and independence and accept her, and support her.
I think in the comics she gets closure with her father.
Ya and in korra I’d say she was at best the same character but I’d argue worse. I would’ve liked to see her grow to not be so emotionally closed off
@@sextupledvanillabeans559 It made angry how they portrayed her in Korra. Toph was tough, and a little hard to get to open up but in NO way was she cold and loveless.

Michael dante dimartino himself wrote a letter in there saying it expands upon the story and that it is gonna be good. If you want basic spoilers from the back cover I got you
Zuko was never learned to be a ruler. He was overlooked by his father, he attended only one war counsel’s meeting, after which he was banished. Yes, uncle Iroh taught him a lot about making peace with himself and being a good person, but it’s not enough to rule the whole country. The country full of nationalists raised by 100-year-old war. Showing young fire lord (16 year old boy btw) dealing with such a load on his shoulder would be a really interesting story line. It is worth its own show tbh
Yeah, and to balance his new found idealism (peace and love) with the hard reality which can be political decision making.
This would've been amazing! Seeing Zuko learn and basically rebuild a new nation through political strategy and being a true leader would've been amazing
Anna Judelson Y’all know... the comics?
Anna Judelson Also by the end of the show Zuko was 18
I think this would a fantastic opportunity for Iroh to be a place where Zuko would want to gain knowledge, because Iroh was groomed to be fire lord and a highly successful general, but for Iroh to refuse to help him. Zuko would be frustrated, not realizing that he needs to learn to be his own fire lord instead of being trained as a carbon copy of every other fire lord before him. In doing so, Zuko begins to explore his connection to Roku and tries to learn about the other world leaders. It could be really interesting.
Have u ever noticed that everyone looks prettier with their hair down zuko, sokka (definitely!) Azula and katara always has her hair down
I actually find zuko prettier when he has his shorter hair like in season 2
What about Aang

Just finished re-watching the series on Netflix. I had so many memories of watching when I was young and I felt crazy nostalgia. Once finished I felt very empty and depressed ( as I do after most beautiful shows like this one). Videos like this though have helped me appreciate the show more, and overcome my senseless depression. I appreciate your video and your time. Maybe after the boom due to the recent Netflix release, I can only dream that Netflix will fund a Book 4.

I feel this way when I see something nostalgic but I feel better when I remember other people feel the same.
Hi friend. Hope you're doing well and I'm sorry to hear you feel empty and depressed after finishing the show. I personally just finished it and immediately came (back) to this video cause I always love just consuming more and more A:TLA content. Man a season 4 would have been great specially if it was done right. Avatar was such a great series definitely one of the top 5 of all time it deserved to have another season instead we got the garbage live action remake.
would much rather prefer that than the Live-action avatar series coming up...similar to Samurai Jack
I second that
@@Br0wnEyedQueen Why mot both?? cause if the live action series is popular n successful enough, it could easily spawn another series
@@yourfriendlyneighbourhoodl6206 sure there can be both but with most live action adaptation, it could never reach the freedom of expression of animation. It always lacks that level of splendor, Im sure the CGI will be really good but until we get a legit trailer, all we have for now is M. No, having different voice actors wouldn't work. Just let the show be. It ended perfectly, and if you're desperate for more content then just watch Korra or read the comics. Dai Li seeking revenge on Fire Nation
All Nations still not convinced of Peace and still Attacking
Conflict of ownership of Lands from 100 years
Zuko adventuring with May to find his mother
Dai Li attacking Azula in prison
Some random dude saving Azula
Azula Redemption Arc ending with finding her mother
Sokka leading Water Tribe
Toph making up with her family
Iroh taking control of Nation while zuko has gone to find his mother
Aang living his days travelling world
As for villain: As the Giant Turtle said before Bending one must learn about Energy, so a Character who can't bend but had a rough childhood and gets lost at sea on that turtle then learns about Energy and Bending then becomes First Self Taught Air Bender and Water Bender then journeys through to learn Fire and Earth all the while aiming for Ultimate Power and defeating Avatar
Katara starts teaching Water bending on her home tribe
Ang and Katara being together but Since Aang has to maintain peace be needs to travel world alone
I'm not even a writer and there are many ways to proceed this show with Still Many Mysteries and Adventures
Since most of the villains of the previous books were from the Fire Nation I think they should focus on the other nations for a change, though its military, political and even intellectual establishment would obviously seek to oppose Fire Lord Zuko's attempts at peace.
Long Feng is still out there, he should be after Azula since she took the Dai Li's control from him and now wants revenge, he could even attempt to take control of the Earth Kingdom, using his mind tricks to brainwash the Earth King and getting help from the military officers who want to continue the conflict while remaining in the shadows.
I like the idea for a main villain but perhaps it should set up a larger conflict because let's face it, after what Azula has done you can't fully redeem her in just one book and it would be interesting to see a bigger threat that eventually forces all nations to band together to defeat it, perhaps an ancient evil spirit and his army of "dark energy" monsters or something like that who establish some sort of connection with this "energy bender", it has been dormant/imprisoned for centuries/millennia after a bloody and destructive battle with a previous Avatar but after the destruction caused by the hundred years of war he is awakened/released once again. He grants the bender incredible power and provides him with an army bent on consuming the world.
These are just some ideas, I was actually planning on writing a story for an Avatar sequel but I'm somewhat new to the fandom and often times too lazy to actually finish what I start but you're right, the possibilities for a new adventure are limitless and it would be nice to see the characters face new challenges and teach us new life lessons along the way.
Honestly, I just want more ty lee and mai. Also sadly the turtle bending villain thing won't work if you watch the 2nd season of lok, but if that wasn't the case that would be a great idea
I don't think Azula can get a redemption arc so quickly. But a book 4 would've been so good! I wish they actually did it :(
Yes and iroh should throw a tea party🍵
Let’s hope some day book 4 will come in the future
my thoughts on what the 4th season should be about:
1. the rebuilding of the war
2. a new airbending generation intro
3. Zuko finding what happened to his mother
4. a bit of a peek in their future lives
That’s literally what happened in the comics you must be a new fan
slnf anime and gaming ok but we want to see it animated in a show
@@theobservr_ok but we wanna see it on tv as the show …

@@gronnlundfrompaga1775 Like this video explained quite well, the comics are decent but the writing and the medium definitely don't do the intricacy and depth of The Last Airbender justice. Let's say, hypothetically, that the old crew including head writer Aaron Ehasz, would rejoin to animate book 4, I would strongly encourage them to not hold back when it comes to retconning certain parts of the comics. Again, the comics are enjoyable and far from bad, but written by different people and I know for certain that the original writers could've delivered a story that's of way higher quality.

Omg!! Dude she already did go on a small trip with Iroh.. Thats why she didnt get the trip with Zuko... Toph only gets the best after all.
@@arachnesakura9375 This might be why they didn't give her the trip because it might have been one where Toph was telling Zuko about Iroh which might have lead to a breakdown in his character before it was supposed to happen. I like this theory

Isaiah Owens yesssss
That sounds great Iroh is goat such a wise and great character
I feel like avatar was bigger than ever when netflix released it in June
After just watching the full series on Netflix, I definitely needed this video. A 4th book is definitely needed to wrap up loose ends that I know I want to see.
Yep
Season 4 would have been nice. If Avatar mimics the real world, I see season 4 being about cleaning up the mess the war has cause.
There’s no way Zuko would have gotten the whole Fire Jation to accept him as their leader without difficulties and the EK is a whole another complete mess.
Book air would really be interesting!! Air symbolizing new life could mean a new life between all four nations and the struggles of their communication and acceptance of this change.
Being free like air and letting go of the previous hate other nations might have had towards the fire Nation
I agree it would’ve been interesting to see Aang setting the world to rights and dealing w a post war world
That's actually what they did in the comics, but in my book, I'll never ever check out those comics because they can never make up to the animated series.

Korra has its moments especially season 3 and 4
I really really want Azula's redemption arc. Seeing her spiraling in the last season, especially that scene with her mother and screaming on the ground in her fight with Zuko, it always impacted me in a way I can't really describe? She's super interesting to me.
Not all characters are redeemable. Some of them got to stay bad.
The comics. Azula just got worse
i haven't read the comics. i agree with you, nothingrhymeswithorange. as the show stands, there was definitely a chance for interesting growth there. i don't know if "redemption" is the right word, because i'm not sure if azula could become "good" in the same way zuko did, but i think if zuko had gone with toph on a "finding ursa" journey, and ursa was brought back to the fire nation, there could be some really interesting moments wherein ursa and azula's relationship could be explored, and at the very least, azula could heal in that way, even if she never became a better person
I don’t think she should get a redemption arc she’s better the way she is now
I wish we could see in season 4 Zuko’s support in his sister towards her redemption.. after all, she also, as Zuko is the great granddaughter of avatar ruko and I want to believe she has good hidden inside her heart. Throughout the whole show, Azula was hiding her real feelings, like a wall, and acted like she didn’t care but it all came in the end and she couldn’t handle it. She went insane. She can’t accept the idea of love and I wish Zuko in season 4 could give her this and care about her. After all, they are still a big brother with his little sister

Some disappointed Game of Thrones fan went to twitter to ask for a series with as deep a lore and a satisfying ending. The reply was "Avatar: The Last Airbender. I say this unironically."
this is the story of my life. watched Avatar after a huge disappointment from David Benioff and DB Weiss a.k.a duo bullshitters.

Also who are the Togh's boyfriends, how did they breed bisons and dragons, how Togh made metalbending so widely-used and wide-spread(same with lightning-bending....also many more so in general there rly is the ground to make another book
That's explained in the comics. Toph started a Metalbending Academy.

Its not clearly stated but i think azula mallowed out and became the mysterious female old fire sage from season 2 with the badass attitude., just healing the avatar with heat as if it were nothing and being sassy towards korra. Thats how old matured azula must be.
Personally, I’ve never liked the idea of a season 4. They wrapped up the story at the end of season 3; it would be too different and wouldn’t work as well as fans have idealized.
What I would like to see, however, is a series about Iroh’s past. It would be amazing to finally focus his character, and learn how he became the wise old man we know and love.
YESSSSS THIS
Yeah
There’s no evidence it wouldn’t work as well it all depends on execution and writing.
It would be way better than that awful film they had
I want both. Season 4 could be called "Avatar Evolutions" or "Avatar a New Era" and just be a spin off. Avatar needs as much content as possible. 3 seasons is way too short. But add that with Korra, the spin off, and Iroh's tale and we have a decent amount of content to enjoy.
I think moving past the war would hurt the climactic ending. Ending on the highest note possible is nigh always best.

Honestly, if the creators would have just announced that The Legend of korra wasn't a thing anymore. And to forget everything that happened with in. Then they roll up with Avatar The Last Airbender season 4, then I think that everyone will rather be happy.
Yeah, even the LOK fans. After all, I think we all agree AtLA is better.
Legend of Korra suckd
Arigato Senpai ikr, that was the worst decision which was ever made. Just destroying knowledge expanding 10000 years. Ffs.
They should have cancelled LOK long time ago and we pretend like nothing happened and Aang and sokka didn’t die and the others didn’t get so old ...But they just destroyed not only the avatar cycle but also the fans😓they made a big mistake and I think we deserve 4th book. We need to see the gang in adulthood 😭
Legend of Korra, for me, is a alternative time-line, more like a dystopia, where the world of Avatar goes wrong in every single way. What a disappointing show...
To be fair, I feel book 4 would be a bit hard. I mean, the other books had a clear goal to defeat the Fire Lord and stuff. It had an action plot. A 4th book would be a lot of politics and emotional drama... which, I admit, the other 3 books did have, but they had it as a supplement to the action and fun.
I think if it happens, the series will be about how republic city gets build and about the war zuko almost ignited
Yeah... That’s the worst of it. The show is (sadly) mainly for kids. If treated correctly, book 4 might have been another game of thrones. I would totally watch it, but they would never make it. Too risky
@@annayudelson I started watching ATLA once I was an adult...It really did have that 'Game of Thrones'-potential and I think that more ruthlessness would've made it 'better', but...yeah,it's for kids
Plus, I guess it'd be a lot of "cleaning up" of the subplots, leaving no overarching goal with no real clearance as to when everything is actually finished. I can see this creating a sort of emptiness, but of like when sparing all the side-quests to after the main story is done.
TheDeathmail true but it would be so good to see them grow pass that
Idc what y’all Zuko fan girls say, once Aang started to get older, he got friken hawt. Katara really knew what she was workin with 👀
Literally my thoughts EXACTLY
You know it Avatar the last Airbender is good when even after 15 years it is relevant
I've always thought Book 3 had the perfect ending, but after this video a part of me wishes we could've gotten book 4 or at least an animated movie to end the series. Would've loved to see Zuko find his mother on screen and Toph dealing with her parents again and to see how the 4 settings, especially the Fire Nation adjust to the new world. Katara was my favorite, but I'm not sure what other storylines they could've given her since her story and character seemed to be fully developed on the show.
I think an animated film would be great.
Anything's better than nothing -- *except* the live action film. Doing nothing would have been better than doing that movie...
had they written a book 4 they would've handled book 3 a bit differently.
for example, aang didn't actually master the avatar state with the guru and detach himself - it was a plot convenience that made him activate it in the finale. so that would be a good story for him moving forward and to also revisit his old temple.
zuko would have to face rebuilding a whole nation and politics + search for his mom and i think katara would help him here. it only makes sense because those two could bridge the fire nation and water tribes, also they connected through their mothers. sokka and suki would also probably be a part of this, maybe engage with civilians. toph would seek out her parents i think, azula would be delved deeper into and mai/ty lee as well.
Agreed, but Sokka needs to find his space sword
Rise of Kyoshi would be a Great Anime
The story behind Kyoshi is really interesting. She wasn't a good bender and she wasn't even discovered to be the Avatar until later on in her life. Can't wait for the novel to come out
I'm triggered when someone says A:TLA and LOK are Animes. But overall, I too want a story about Kyoshi
The novels were already released!
I just finished the book and I completely agree it’s something for the creators to think about
Yangchen's Legacy will also be a great series. Her greatness extends until the life of Kuruk
I have no idea if anyone is interesting still in making this but I would love more than anything if we got a series set between ATLA and LOK that explored what was supposed to be in the fourth book and beyond.
They should honestly do a whole other story way in the past that shows how the nations came to be with the benders and the avatar
They do that in The Legend of Korra
@@lorenzoalmario3922 nooooo more in depth not just a quick backstory. Like how they hunted the lion turtles and migrated and like the drama behind building a monarchy vs a tribe vs an empire

ATLA was THE greatest animated series ever created.
the greatest SERIES ever created
Y'all must be high to discount everything else that laid the groundwork for it to even be made. ATLA wouldn't have even been born if not for Japan's ever growing influence on our culture, and people seeing it and thusly being inspired by their works. The conjecture that one series can be stated as definitively best is ignorant at best, and asinine at worst. It can personally be your favorite, but I think its ultimately impossible for any one thing to beat out all others.
Pyromandra Yes, it took inspiration and previous shows in order to be created. But it BLEW AWAY all other shows of its time. The characters, the plot, the music, the animation. Everything was perfect. Not to mention it’s the second highest rated animated show of all time, beaten only by Rick and Morty. I would very easily defend ATLA to be the best animated show ever, no anime or other cartoons can compare. Everything is too well made.
DBZ, Naruto, One Piece stop it I love ATLA but its not the greatest
No. A lot of anime are better than Avatar.
With Zuko's arc he always has his theme counter to the main one. In water he resisted change, in earth his world was turned upsidedown and in fire his return to his father meant that he actually lost power to do what he wanted. This was always twisted at the end of each season to move towards the main theme.
So in Book 4 his main story would be that he does not have any freedom and is restricted by the views and customs of his people. This would have ended with him finding balance in his life.
Interesting!!
my favourite part of avatar is when momo comes to land on his shoulder at the end
THIS WAS SO WELL PUT. I would literally do anything for a book 4 🥺😔😔
Even though I know the comics and Legends of Korra disproves my theory, let me tell you my headcanon.
During the genocide of the Airbenders, there were a few air nomads scattered around the other kingdoms visiting friends or perhaps holding enlightenment seminars or something.
As soon as news of the airnomad genocide spread, many of the scattered nomads were killed by their neighbors, while others were aided by thier neighbors. They were provided earth kingdom, northern water tribe, and even fire nation clothing. They stopped air bending and blended into whatever culture they were in. They married and forbade thier children from air bending and taught them the culture they were living in rather than thier birth culture.
After the 100 Year War, these children, now grown up, seek out Avatar Aang to learn about thier culture from the Last Air Bending Master. Teaching these air benders would've been one of the story arcs in Book 4 and would have scenes similar to the air training scenes in Korra book 3.
I base this on the fact that very few genocides on Earth have been truly successful, and genocide survivers exist today. Also, it wouldn't be too far fetched for the Air Nomads to be visiting other kingdoms, since Aang visited both the earth and fire kingdoms before the 100 year war.
I never really thought of that, but I have to agree
Would’ve been cool if they added an undiscovered continent in the avatar world. A whole society unaware of the 100 year war and the rest of the world’s activities. Some air nomads and bison escaped here. With all types of benders living together. Airbenders learn thunder and sound bending. Idk it just would’ve been a good springboard for so many ideas.
This is gonna sound stupid, and it is: but what about a fifth existing temple. So secret only the elders knew about. being on some other high mountain or something like that. I mean it's not, and cannot be canon, but still fun to think about. And if it were true, and come into a season, which it most definitely should not, as it breaks the entire series, it could be fun to see Aang whether or not to tell the world when he finds out, or just, like he wanted to at first in the northern air temple, keep it secret so just one place still had the old culture.
But it's still just a stupid idea, not even worth a fan fiction.
@@ewout2763 I like that idea. Is the live action series reboot a hard one or a soft one? I would love to see these ideas explored.
@@Claudanne2 If I'm not wrong, they are just gonna follow the episodes of the original, but with 40 minute episodes.

its just sad that in the last episode boomerang did not come back :[
But Suki did!
Was I the only one who after the show ended (and after I had a good cry) just sat and was like "ha, Zuko's screwed."
the show ended like 12 years ago now and it is still heavily talked about. there are massive discord communities Reddit pages and entire youtube websites that are based entirely on this show and they are still thriving. Tumblr is obsessed with the show as is twitter. I'm so happy too because every year I find myself watching the show. I would have loved a 4th season. they had plenty of content after all those comics came out about the harmonic restoration and how republic city was formed and their adventure with Zuko to find Ursa and the southern water tribe problems. it would have been amazing to see aang and katara again with Sokka being absolutely disgusted and making jokes about their relationship. I miss the show.
What I would've liked to see:
- Zuko's search for his mother, and his struggles with redeeming the Fire Nation as well as re-culturing the population to be accepting of other nations
- Azula having a Zuko-esque arc and becoming mentally strong enough to cover for Zuko in his pursuit of their mother
- Toph trying to adapt to life back home before ultimately realizing that while she does love her parents very much, a sheltered lifestyle just isn't for her
- Aang and Katara's relationship being fleshed out
- Aang trying to fix the broken communities of the world, as well as repopulate the Air Nomads
- Katara and Sokka helping their father grow the Southern Water Tribe from a small village to a city that almost rivals the Northern Water Tribe
- Cameos from characters that only showed up in one or two episodes (Haru, Jude, etc)
- More on the stories of Suki, Mai, and Ty Lee, as well as growth of their characters
- As a villain, we could have those who are opposed to the Fire Nation (kinda sorta racism but for Firebenders)
- A lesser but still prominent villain could be an Anti-Bending group like in LoK who are against Bending as a whole because of the destructive abilities it has brought into the world
The only problem I see with these are that most likely not all of them would be included, since there probably wouldn't be enough episodes to write a good story for every single idea. Who knows, maybe Air would've been a longer book and would've had the capacity for all these plots and mini stories.
I would love for all that to happen I would also love that Sokka finds his lost sword
If that happened it Would be amazing
I honestly LOVE it when in media, they have a part in the story of dealing with the aftermath. I just love to see all these things getting fixed, problems getting solved, and seeing able to see the nicer moments after the storm has passed. Those are the things I seriously love, because it may have been a grand adventure, but there's more story to tell. It's just a shame that those things are very hard to find.
....hm, actually, if anyone has anything like this that they would recommend, I'd love to hear about it.
Who’s here after watching all 3 of the books/seasons on Netflix?
I feel like book 4 would of been a perfect ending, spread out and just a calm storyline something. I think anyone could enjoy a slow paced character building moment, with m being 20 now, and watched it when it came out, personally I think I cashed out too soon :( it would of become a fairytale type of vibe and wholesome.... now I'm sad cuz I just imagined the entire book 4 in my head
