The average pokemon player should make a support pokemon for raids because it's less resource intensive. Too many new players aim for damage dealers with no resources.
I'm gonna also plug flapple here.
Flapple one of the most consistent supports in the game.
      Nature:bold/lax
      Ability: Ripen
      Item: Sitrus berry
      Moves:
Grav apple (100% accurate Lowers defense and works thru shield)
Acid spray(100% accurate Lowers Special def and works thru shield)
      Recycle(recover)
      Iron defense/substitute.
      IVs: HP,Def, and special def.

A note about hariyama. Hariyama with guts and flame orb effectively does about the same amount of damage as iron hands with the additional benefit of avoiding sleeps, paralysis, freezes and toxics that a lot of raid targets will happily throw out. It also has roughly the same coverage of moves alongside Facade and Headlong Rush. Headlong rush being a much more powerful ground move to throw than earthquake, and facade being a very poweful move on hariyama particularly if you use it with tera normal as an option where super effective ones aren't available. I'd still take iron hands over it in most cases but for those who can't get it either because its too early in the story or because they play scarlet, hariyama is a perfectly reasonable choice.

    • @gabegucker1222
      @gabegucker1222 2 года назад +1

Sick idea! Iron hands is still usually better, but i love the idea of dodging other status effects when you are just trying to solo farm 5 and 6 star raids, and while its not a advantage in functionality I like the look of Hariyama way more :)

I'm gonna be honest, I'm wildly surprised that Hatterene was not in this episode as a support mon. Its versatility is absolutely astounding. Its hidden ability is magic bounce allowing you to get free stat drops, or completely shut down any status mon (looking at you gengar with confuse ray/yawn). Its move pool is enormous while being probably the best Nuzzle user at the moment for a paralysis that can bypass the raid mon shield. It also gets both screens, helping hand, charm, heal pulse, skill swap, misty/psychic terrains. It also gets a respectable 136 special attack if you wanted to go for a mixed support/damage build. I have several Hatterenes myself, example builds being nuzzle, heal pulse, reflect/light screen, helping hand and calm mind, psychic terrain, psychic, nuzzle/helping hand.

    • @zs1570
      @zs1570 Год назад

@@Nightmare-rw9tg It kind of depends on what sort of support you want to be giving. If you are just looking at generic support for any pokemon raid I'd probably recommend charm/reflect and light screen/aromatic mist for physical/sp. attackers respectively. And then probably some combination of helping hand, nuzzle, and heal pulse. I know that nuzzle is an attacking move, but since it is, it can bypass the shields of tera raid mons and paralyze 100% of the time. Of these, I would say the least useful is probably heal pulse considering you also get heal cheers, but heal pulse can be good to keep one specific pokemon alive (like a belly drummer you don't want to lose attack stages for example)

@@tweezy5804 It sure can you just need some good teamwork.

Or 4 Perrserker team with Hidden Ability Steely Spirit which Boost 50% Steel Move to all ally, one of them use sword dance and the other Screech at first turn, then Triple Helping Hand Buff with Iron Head can One Shot
Miraidon too you just need some Sylveon friend to use Fake Tear and Helping Hand before Electro Drift in Electric Terrain

  • @howdyfriends7950

also i have two grimmsnarls, both holding light clay
one is max defense, max hp, bold nature (+def, -atk) with the moveset:
    - taunt
    - reflect
    - chilling water
    - fake tears
the other is max spdef, max hp, 4 atk, careful nature (-spatk, +spdef)
    - taunt
    - light screen
    - spirit break
    - fake tears
because chilling water is a special attack that lowers their physical attack by one stage, whereas spirit break is a physical attack that lowers their special attack by one stage.
you bring the chilling water grimm against any physical attacker: cinderace, kingambit, breloom, gallade, gyarados, hariyama, dragonite, ceruledge, tauros, etc.
you taunt, reflect, fake tears a few times, then start hitting chilling waters once its shield goes up, use reflect again on the 10th turn.
use the spirit break grimm against any special attackers: gardevoir, grimmsnarl, farigiraf, amoonguss, any eeveelution, armarouge, etc.
then you do the same thing: taunt, light screen, fake tears x3, then spam spirit break until it resets its stats and doesn't have a shield up, then fake tears and spirit break.
this is my lifehack on how i am always the one with the pokemon that never faints in tera raids. just build more than one and have them specialize. you can make insanely bulky mons and dedicate yourself to supporting others.

booster energy is separate from the +6 from belly drum! you can get a BE boost from electric terrain after you've already belly drummed. it's separate from your stat boosts, it's just a flat +30% to your attack; it stacks with belly drum and with attack up cheers, they're three separate things that can all be boosted.
so getting all three, a belly drum, electric terrain/BE, and a red cheer, that would gives you
    4 * 4/3 * 4/3 = 64/9 ≈ 7x your original attack stat
adding a life orb on top of that, you'd get
    3/2 * 64/9 = 32 / 3 = 10 ⅔ times as powerful as your original attack stat.
so if you can hold a life orb, do a belly drum, give an attack up cheer, and set electric terrain, you can get 11x the damage you would originally deal to the raid boss. using this with close combat would deal considerable damage

    • @howdyfriends7950
      @howdyfriends7950 Год назад

The problem with a lot of these (take iron moth for example) is that its just hyper unrealistic to be able to live while setting up that much. If you take 2-3 turns setting up, you're dead. Granted part of the problem is that the higher tera raids are incredibly buggy, What ive found as the only viable strat bc of this is always having a drain punch type move in your moveset. It's not uncommon in higher Tera raids for them to get 3 attacks off to your 1 attack. It's pretty broken and ridiculous. Hopefully they get fixed so a lot of these are viable.
Anyways, you're gambling if you use too many turns to set up. Their stats get reset and they reset your turns way too frequently for that.

I much rather play with taunt with umbreon because there are many pokemons that boost their stats or put field effects. I find it more useful that, considering if they gonna clear your buff and debuff you cant reduce his stats anymore and the move keep failing.
    I use my umbreon with:
-foul play (because is the best damaging move he had for raid)
-reflect (very hepful for give damage reduction to you and your allies)
-taunt because is such a good move against some raid that keep boosting stats like dragonite, annilhape etc... also very good to not allow to your opponent using weather or terrain especially people that playing koraidon or miraidon.
-moonlight the reason about this one is because im mainly play in random.
I find iron hand a very good fighting pokemon for raids for people dont had koraidon. But if you have koraidon is better using him with choice band simple and very effective same for miraidon with choice spec because you want to clear the stage fast and simple and not depend too much of some strange gimmick or an ally that keep dying. This 2 legendary pokemon cannot be usually used online against other players. You can use mythical pokemon in tera raid but if you cannot get more than one is better using it online or in tera raids? Thats depend of you/people.
    Very helpful guide overall.

Ouch.. another video without a mention of Scream Tail as premier support pokemon. I have been running it in every raid that I do not have a built dps for with no issues. It is a solid upgrade over Grimmsnarl in my opinion.
    1) its very fast and very bulky with very few weaknesses...with screens and leftovers this pokemon is not dying even when hit repeatedly by super effective attacks.
    2) it has access to both screens + mistry terrain (if the raid uses a lot of status)
    3) can support both physical and special based teams. If you have a lot of special attackers on the team then you can use fake tears to support them. If there are a lot of physical attackers then you can use howl which increases the attack of the whole team by one stage. Helping hand is also there if need be.

I really don't like the Blissey build you've suggested.
I think it's a much better decision to keep her as a chansey and giving her eviolite because this makes her way bulkier on the physical end without compromising her special bulk at all. I also dislike skill swap on her. It's a very good move, almost mandatory in some raids sure, but that makes it very niche, not exactly something you want to take on a generalist support. And most of the raids that do require skill swap, like annihilape, are not something you want to bring either Blissey or Chansey to in the first place. Charm is also an iffy choice because, while it's good that you get to drop the opponent's attack, it's just useless once the raid mon brings up its terra shield. It can clear your debuffs too meaning that the stat drops will only be temporary, and Chansey/Blissey has so many better moves that don't suffer from this issue. Light Screen to boost your entire team's special defense, for example. Or Life Dew to heal the whole team without being forced to use a heal cheer, letting you save them for offensive boosts.

Azumarill is a raid pokemon that WILL be good, not one that is now... When/if they fix the bug to Huge Power where its giving pokemon the difference in damage calculation with vs without it back in hp and undoing the one shots. Like have to admit when I'm doing the charizard raid. I see some one lock Azumarill and I'm like "Okay then, well looks like we'll be dealing with the shield this raid then." Also Misty Terrain is still good support in that it stops status conditions, cant be burnt.
