This is the video that I go over the basics of unlocking raids and preparing pokemon's EVs & IVs to make then stronger. If you're confused about stuff here, might wanna check that out first. :) ruclips.net/video/MurVfz-PqrA/видео.html
Is your ursaluna calc include flame orb guts? Additional 50 percent damage with flame orb and guts. Plus stab 140 damage facade can probably ohko anything if belly drum boosted 👀
You should try Steel beam on Gholdengo, he one damn near one shots with it.
Is the Booster item really the best item for Iron Hands, given it maxes it’s Atk with Belly Drum?
Btw is actually not true that koraidon can't buff his attack because he can learn swordsdance, so even do it is not a plus 6 in one turn like bellydrum he can still get a plus 2 and that is why i tink he should be at the top like miraidon and ironhands
Here ✿
Don't forget you can put Shell Bell on Azumarill to heal up massive amounts in raids. Not as much in regular battles, but SUPER helpful. Also, anything with the Metronome item really helps.
Leftovers can be good also
@@mattanatior97studios9 Shell Bell is A LOT better than Leftovers. Shell Bell scales off of the damage you do and a Belly Drummed Azumarill will be doing a lot of damage.
I like metronome espartha with lumina crash
@@charlesroseman9466 Yeah but they still haven't fixed the bug for belly drum play rough Azu which is really annoying. I can 1 shot raids but the HP bar will just reset because the game has an error in calculating the damage for some reason.
@@thebalrog2277 nope pokemon released a statement that the damage dealt is correct, just that the health bar takes time to reflect it due to a bug. so if you see it "healing" that was the intended HP left
Just a friendly reminder: if you join a tera-raid and find some Azumarills are ready, DONT just stick a Koraidon there. Its harsh sunlight just destroys Azumarills water moves.
Most Azumaril strats use play rough, but bring a Tank with helping hand to help them out
@TheRealGPixels but still, since it's also a great water tera raid pokemon.
I’m going to buy and complete scarlet just to do this
@@ScatterBrainedYouBetterFollow "haha you suck"
**Cutely deletes all water type moves from your azumarill**
I know it was a slip of the tongue, but I laughed so hard when you said “Hard-on” engine instead of Hadron engine. 😂
I took it as deliberate satire. Either way, it was funny.
WAS IT though? Lool
For reference, “Hadron engine” is Miraidon’s ability…”Hardon engine” is the result of watching too much AJP… 😉
@@williamb9656 😱
@@williamb9656 AJP?
5:10 Got that “Hard-On” engine using Miraidon’s “Electric Seed.” I’m learning so much. ☠️
LMAO, when I heard that I thought “The WHAT engine?”
Gotta name it Aa Ron to go with it's hard on engine
minor note, Skeledirge can in fact heal itself. it learns slack off as an egg move which can be given to any skeledirge holding a mirror herb while missing a move with a pokemon with slack off in the party while pinicing.
He needs to make a video on egg moves!
So skeledirge is a tier?
With the change to items so they no longer get consumed (instead they are only activated once per battle), it's also a really good user of Throat Spray. Using Torch Song doubles its Sp. Attack afterward, while it increases 50% after Hyper Voice.
@@drygnfyre wait, they are no longer consumed? I was holding off on using the free booster energy because I was afraid it would just vanish because I'm not doing an online battle.
@@conorb.1901 they only activate once per battle now. The items themselves no longer are consumed. Similar to Battle Tower.
7:49 Skeledirge actually gets slack off via egg move, which can be put on already hatched Skeledirges with the new mirror herb item
Also with a throat spray torch song boosts special attack twice in one move the first time you use it
@@Asa_fps throat spray torch song is my fav combo rn I just spam all voice moves
you have shell bell tho..
10:35 shoutouts to Lokix for also having Leech Life and Lunge, making them also very good for raids. They also get access to swords dance and screech and Skitter Smack as an egg move which is similar to Lunge but for Sp.Att. Quite a big difference in stats, but Lokix is still very serviceable with all their tools. Mine soloed a six star Tera psychic Gaganacl handily.
YOU SOLOED A GARGANACL?!
@@roryandbro1561 with a bug type no less, yeah! That's how strong Lokix is! Particularly against tera types that it hits for super effective because that's essentially just a free 2x damage multiplier that lasts the entire raid, but just yesterday I took on a tera Normal Espeon which was difficult but it was able to do it when Iron Hands couldn't! Espeon has some very clever tricks up its sleeves and can be particularly difficult, but this was a time where Lokix being part dark came in clutch because it couldn't hit me with its psychic moves unless I terastallized, so I had to save it until the very last second so I wouldn't get KOd. We did it though! Lokix is a serious champ.
What were the evs and nature on Lokix?
@@MilesD82 just max attack max hp. Might be better to build ones specifically for physical or special attackers that max their physical or special defense respectively, but idk how much of a difference it would make. But you might want separate ones that already have their move set pre made with lunge or skitter smack respectively, so if you’re building them fresh, might as well do that instead of hp
setting up weather can also be incredibly helpful if you're running support, i've started having a drizzle pelliper just to better enable belly drum azumarills
My sheet is FAR from perfect as I even mention in the video. Once I have to time to really refine it and calculate bonuses for EVERY move, and I can clean up the code, then I'll release it. For the Game's release week, these handful of good mons should help get everyone off of "SPAM THE CAT" strat lol
I was introduced to the cat slap strat, at least the lil guys used their (iron) head
If it ain't broke........ 🤷🏾♂
Hey Austin azumarill can learn drawing kiss, have it with aqua ring and leftovers make it unkillable even against steel types when I terasterlize
right, but draining kiss is a special contact move (one of a very few btw) but sadly can't take advantage of huge power or belly drum. :(
:(
EVERY Pokémon that can learn Belly Drum is S tier thanks to Shell Bell healing them for 1/8th of the damage they deal (which is their entire health pool)
azumarill is trash
Ok there nacli.
“Hard on engine” that was hilarious.
I love the video though. Thank you for the info!
Also just a heads up for everyone, Azumarill will likely be quite good for the 7* zard and you can get a fairy tera version at the dragon lake as a static spawn. Middle north by the small island
Casseroya lake
@@dannydk6 yeah that place lmao good ole casserole lake
My azumarill keeps dying after belly drum before i can launch an attack. Any way to fix that?
Oh I bred one for this.
austin, would you ever consider making your spreadsheets available publically to make copies of? it would be immensely helpful to have them personally, as it would make the resource far more accessible over just graphics as i can struggle with static images.
edit: a read-only version to view without editing, rather than one to make copies of, could be another potential route as it seems you've had issued with doing copies etc before.
Hey Axel! I def PLAN to. my ONLY hesitation is that I have SO MUCH going on that I would want to sit down and make sure it's PERFECT, ya know? I have several sub-sheets linked together to make that Rube Goldberg machine of a Sheet actually work. Maybe once release hype dies down I can get a regular-human amount of sleep and perfect the sheets for release. Smaller, easier sheets that can just be a single image like sandwiches, screenshot.done. but this thing. it's a monster.
@@AustinJohnPlays awesome! i'm eagerly looking forward to its eventual release. i know the feel of wanting it to be perfect, as i am a spreadsheet fanatic myself. hope you manage to get some good rest soon. my current personal project is finding all of the TM locations + jotting down their recipies/move type + element type, as ive started my own little completionist checksheet.
@@AustinJohnPlays thanks for such a thoughtful reply! You're the GOAT
@@AustinJohnPlays Yo, feel free to take a break man. Just a reminder
@@AustinJohnPlays can't wait to one shot very raid lol
Also, anyone can have healing effect with shell bell. Worked with azumarill , I basically healed to full everytime.
Not me. Perfect build, all trained etc, at some point flame moves still get me. And if the mon is neutral or supereffective against me, it's gg. Against shields i'm either doing little when supereffective or i do nothing. I don't know what to do anymore.
Azumarill is definitely going to be mega for the upcoming charizard event. Being water fairy it makes all the dragon moves useless while also having a fire resistance. That’s what I plan on using for this event
Been telling people this for days.
They just say he probably gonna have thunder punch and a fighting move...
I think it's funny that they can't come up with a better plan though
Why not Dachsbun. Fairy so dragon Immunity and Well Baked buffs defense and makes it immune to fire. Half of the attacks being reduced to zero damage seems like a good strategy for this Raid.
My fear is them giving it something like Metal Claw or Iron Tail because even though Charizard is primary Special those moves will still tear through Fairy types.
@@andrewstorey8584 fair point, what kind of damage output can dachsbun do?
@@skydragonfire93 but water resists steel so it's neutral against azu

Austin already put chapters, or is this a premium feature?
@@engr.reyes3 At the time the comment was written the video had no chapters
This is really helpful, as I am struggling a bit with raids. This has made it from impposible to beat 6 star raids to easily beating 6 star raids
Love these videos. Would love another version where you cover the items you use with each of these and if that affects the tiers any (ex. Does Azumarill w/ shell bell put it in a higher tier) would also love to see what Tera typing each of these has (or maybe a google doc with all that extra info: item, tera type, moveset, etc.). Your image in the corner covers it up. Keep up the great work!
For Pokémon who don’t have any recovery moves I use a shell bell, it basically makes every move a draining move and it really helps out Pokémon who can’t heal
Yes! I figured that out when I was trying to find an item for azumarill
@@the5acredknight255 where can I obtain this item?
That helps a lot ^^ thx

Thank you ^w^
I think you might be sleeping on Annihilape. Solid Defenses, good attack, access to Drain Punch and Rage Fist, which increases in power everytime you're attacked. If you have the ability patch, you can also get defiant, which increases attack whenever you get a status drop (which happens a fair bit). Rage Fist scaling means you keep hitting harder and harder as the battle wears on. Thought it might be worth a higher spot on the list as it ticks the boxes.
Adamant plus max evs on attack and hp?
@@supersaiyan5889 Yes, this is how I'm running it. If you don't have ability patch, Vital Spirit is good for sleep protection. Personally I think Ghost Tera type is better than fighting. My strat is to usually screech and drain punch early while taking a few hits, then Tera and hit them with the Rage Fist hopefully just before the shield comes up. I've been able to clear most 6 star raids solo doing this.
@@flyingfish6903 bulk up is sick too and you can rest while holding the berry
@@flyingfish6903 where should I put the last 4 evs?
I think you also want Vital Spirit Annhilape depending on the raid. So many raids spam Sleep, just forgetting about it as you boost through is crazy.
Just a note on Iron Hands. Its base HP is so crazy high that you gain more investing EVs in its defenses. With a spread of 252 Atk / 152 Def / 104 SpD you are marginally bulkier (see below), but with the huge advantage that Drain Punch will recover WAY more %HP, so it becomes easier to go back to full HP.
252 SpA Iron Valiant Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Iron Hands: 402-474 (78.5 - 92.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Iron Valiant Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 104 SpD Iron Hands: 350-414 (77.9 - 92.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Garchomp Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Iron Hands: 306-362 (59.7 - 70.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Garchomp Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 152 Def Iron Hands: 266-314 (59.2 - 69.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
So how many proteins, irons, and zincs do I use?
@@JohnDoe-fy7sr For Atk, just max it out. For Def, 15 Irons and 2 Resist Feathers. And for SpD, 10 Zincs and 4 Clever Feathers
@@organicguy3462 thanks
@organicguy Will it stand against a Salamence's outrage move (rock tera type). I always get ohko by it. Btw it is also a 6star raid
@@nftspot889 Not even a max Atk, lvl 100 Salamence can 2HKO Iron Hands with Outrage:
252+ Atk Salamence Outrage vs. 0 HP / 152 Def Iron Hands: 180-213 (40 - 47.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
If we consider than 6-star raids are at level 90, with no EVs, then even an Adamant Salamence will do pitiful damage:
Lvl 90 0+ Atk Salamence Outrage vs. 0 HP / 152 Def Iron Hands: 121-144 (26.9 - 32%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
also! for azumarill regaining health, give it a shell bell! with how much damage it does to those high health raid bosses, the shell bell restores a LOT of health back.
Azumarill also gets aqua ring
@@izzyrob12 Chuck a Leftovers on with it
@@bubbawiggles I do like sitrus berry to recover that immediate loss of health
@@izzyrob12 thats what I thought as well
Azumarill gets draining kiss as well.
Gholdengo is insane even in co-op. If you wanna avoid secondary effects, Covert Cloak makes him completely immune to everything but damage.
I think the raid mons sometimes nullify abilities which would allow Gholdengo to be statused
@@BWING224 based on my experience so far it is only secondary effects from damaging attacks that cause status conditions and stat changes (Goldengo's ability isn't being ignored/turned off)
Wait would Covert Cloak prevent Gholdengo from getting its' special attack lowered when using its' signature move?
I played with someone using a gholdengo. The idiot got greedy and nasty plotted three times in a row and got KO'd. I was even screeching with my umbreon. I laughed so hard.
@@timotheninja bc of the special drop, people err on steal beam with metal coat or shadow hall with shadow tag. Also slap on recover, metal sound, and nasty plot for damage coverage. Steel terra can better if you have the shards and want to have better defensive typing. But to balance out the BP difference between shadow ball and steel beam, I’m fine with terra ghost to use when you can! Hope this helps
No one really seems to notice how the shell bell actually really helps hard hitters without recovery like Azumarill and Skeledirge, especially when shield isnt up. If you can get off a hit 2nd turn with Azumarill after Belly drum, you get most of your health back from Shell Bell as long as you do enough damage
This. I've been using Shell Bell on Azumarill and Skeledirge to great success. Underrated item for sure!
Yeah shell bell is great or you can also do sitrus berry. For shell bell I usually do a heal cheer on first move then go for belly drum and the heal cheer will heal that up. After that you can go into your normal set up and have the heal cheer heal you the rest of the way
I was thinking about shell bell throughout the entire video but I guess most people would rather prioritize maximizing damage output
What do you guys do for it’s EVs? Max attack and health?
@@jaycehaste I Max out attack/ sp attack and speed for most of them (except my special def Tank Support shiny blissey😂its really fun in online 6 star raids especially against users who have sleep moves (like vaporeon) because I have electro field on her (+the Team wide water healing move+ helping hand + lightscreen)
I can see why maxing HP instead of speed is better in many because because I think the enemie mons are not ev trained and are "only" lvl 90 and most of them you will outspeed anyways but I dont really have problems with surviving anyways because good matchups for Almost every mon/terra combination + shell bell :3
I have to say, before this video I was getting my @$$ whooped in these 5 star terra raid battles. And then when I followed you exact build on Iron Hands, I swept these 5 star terra raid battles like I was battling a level 5 pokemon in story mode. You are doing a good job with your content, keep it up!
Hey do you know if the nature matters??
@@POkeMned It does. For Iron Hands you'll want adamant nature, which you can buy a mint for 20k at any Chansey Supply store
I’ve found that gardevoir is a pretty good mon for a balance between support and attack. Mine has life dew, calm mind, moon blast, and a spot for other moves depending on what an individual raid needs. For anything weak to fairy if you pair it with a Silveon you can absolutely destroy
I have been using Espathra and its signature move with Shell Bell, wich is surprisingly good if your want to play offline. Attacking with an 80 base damage move while reducing the enemy defense by 2 every turn is simply amazing. Then even the npc trainers start doing damage.
You may be into something, Espathra also has really good abilities (opportunist and speed boost) and both light screen and reflect if needed.
I just started testing Espathra. Definitely underrated, really shines if teammates are special attackers. Also can support with screens and gets decent coverage!
It can also learn Roost through breeding to heal itself so you could use something other than Shell Bell. With the other utility already mentioned, it's really a solid pick.
@@alctry I don't think speed matters for tera raids, but Opportunist is great.
You a real one for continuing to pump out info the community would need to know keep up the good work and hope you find time to rest in between videos 😭
Another good one I’ve been using is bellibolt, I taught it rain dance, thunder, elec terrain, and slack off and it one shots 4 star raids
Just a note, koraidon can increase his own attack and defense with bulk up. So i guess he could be high A tier cuz he has collision course and drain punch, and early set up with bulk up against physical attackers in dens means more survivability as well
Koraidon also gets Swords Dance to boost it's attack and Screech to lower Def, which makes it even more viable.
Would Bulk up be viable as well, or is Swords dance better?
@@Bendyspy Swords dance is far better, you can 1 shot pretty much most 5* with 3x swords dance and then collision course. (Steel, Dark, Normal, Ice), however maybe for some tougher raids bulk up is viable, but it would really be extremely situational
Okay I pretty sure koriadon can't learn swords dance as I've tried to tech it to him and it won't let me
@Bryce Hopson if you find out how to get swords dance please tag me
@@brycehopson6800 I taught it via TM.
I love the paradox form that Austin was least excited for is what he is using the most 😂
Hey Austin, I think you should check out Garganacl, he's really tanky defensively and also has high attack, knows recover mixed with having leftovers, and gets some really hard hitting moves. I use him all the time in 6 star raids.
Thank you for making this. I never did high level raids in SwSd because I never built anything that lasted long, so I was hesitant about doing it here. I took a chance on building an Iron Hands based on this video and boy am I glad I did. I’ve beaten so many raids with it so far and it’s all thanks to you and your investment in making these videos. Thank you Austin John!!
I think it would be very very helpful to post the EV spreads you used for all of these.
It’s pretty generic to do HP and Offense stat for the usual attackers, but having spreads for the support mons would be a good add.
I've been using Annihilape in addition to a few on this list. Rage fist is op. 50bp every time he takes damage and it persists after he faints! Combine that with screech, drain punch for recover, and defiant on a debuff and he can solo a lot of 6 star raids. Hope this helps!
Same, he’s gotten me four ability patches so far.
Holly crap I gotta put my monkey to work
I know im late but i was wondering if there's any reason to use screech instead of swords dance? In dropping enemy stats better than buffing your own?
@@shugo2355 Same damage either way for you, but screech helps your allies’ damage
Iron moth is also really good if you need a poison type mon. Acid spray is an amazing move that harshly lowers special defense and it has morning sun for recovery. It also has access to light screen if needed.
Annilape is an overlooked option because of hidden ability Defiant, Drain Punch, and Rage Fist, which gets a ton stronger under the hail of attacks in tera raids.
Just went by to write this. Annihilape is awesome! You have Bulk Up, Screech and Defiant to increase the stat gap. Then Drain Punch to heal if needed and Rage Fist to do massive damage. The longer you survive the more powerful will be the Rage Fist
I recommend Liquidation over Waterfall for the chance to reduce defense when it comes to water Azumarill. The fairy version you use here will be great against the upcoming Charizard raid!
Maybe. But it's almost a guarantee that it will have a stell move to deal with fairies
@@commiewhacker4033 charizard gets a move to deal with all its weaknesses its gonna be pick your poison
Also waterfall has a chance to flinch.
@@wolfiemuse You are correct but it's also slightly weaker. Does flinch work across the team or only for the move they use on you? I thought it was only on you. Defense drops should work across the team.
@@commiewhacker4033 Water-type resists Steel. You'll only be weak if you Terastalize into Fairy but you don't really have to with Belly Drum. If Charizard has Sunny Day and Solar Beam (which is likely with Solar Power), that's a different story. There's still other options for that scenario.
Metronome is also a good hold item for some pokemon to hold, ie Skeledirge with Torch Song, because not only are you increasing sp.att each turn, but you're also wracking up metronome stacks along with it.
Good info thanks! Built myself an iron hands and it's flawless!
Bellibolt build with Parabolic Charge, Tbolt and Acid Spray is VERY good with his ability
IF YOU HAVE MIRAIDON, USE METAL SOUND IT DROPS THE TARGETS SPDEF
Metal Sound + Throat Spray? -2 SpD +1 SpA
My friend and I found Miraidon Metal sound x3 and Gholdengo Nasty Plot x3 plus base power 80 effective/super effective special move usually one/two shots MOST things
Does screech work with Throat Spray? Thank you :) for Koraidon
@@johnpaullong7977 yes ,but is useless (+1 SpA on a Physical)
Spdef seems like kind of a useless stat to decrease because most your teammates are going to be physical attackers. Would prefer help my teammates than only help myself…
I have been using Acid Spray and Psychic with my Armarouge and that has been really helpful. Too bad there are a lot of dark or ghost moves but it still helps.
A quiet natured sleep talking skeledirege is criminally underrated
What moveset?
@@PabloLopez-hz2hq torch song shadow ball rest sleep talk with unware ability use shell bell or scope lens

Hii ok so question is there a reason to put points into sp.def rather then hp just wondering
I run Iron hands with the punching glove item, Belly Drum, Drain Punch, Ice Punch, and Thunder Punch. You don't need the booster energy if you're going to use belly drum and max out your attack. It absolutely wrecks in raids with great coverage and massive damage.
Thank you I needed this
No problem Normal_Child
I just caught a Shiny Iron Valiant while watching this video.
First, thank you.
Second, Thank you again specifically for uploading this video, because i was wondering how many of the new mons had good movesets+stats for raids.
Third, very speedy to upload this after i had asked in a community poll. :) love this time of year
I've been having great success with Medicham Skill Swapping it's Pure Power on to any Iron Hands or Koraidon/Moraidon that joins. 1-2 move win. Easy support with reflect and light screen
If I may make a suggestion, I have had pretty good success with Flare Blitz on Koraidon for similar reasons as you've stated with Iron Hands and Wild Charge. You don't get Tera boosted, but the fact you set up sun gives it a great power boost, and you can still Drain Punch the health back.
Dude, the work you have put in is impressive. This is my first pokemon game outside of Arceus... wow, the amount I have learned from you. You earned a subscribe and like. Well done.
You guys should try poison heal breloom with leech seed. It never dies and is great for longevity
What's the set? Leech seed, Spore, Bulk Up, Drain Punch? max hp and atk? id be down do give it a go xD
Your videos have been incredibly helpful and it’s clear you put tons of work into sharing tips/hints etc. Thanks for doing what you do!
This video helped me so much because I didn’t know that iron hands was that good thanks so much Austin
At 7:44 you said skeledirge has no way to regain health but skeledirge actually knows the move Slack Off which recovers 50% of your health.
Don't sleep on Bellibolt. Modest with max SpA and HP evs, electromorphosis, electric terrain, magnet, and parabolic charge. He can survive 6 star raids and do a ton of electric damage. That's also without boosting SpA during the battle so I'm sure it could be better. Love the video btw! Thanks!
It can also learn Acid Spray, which reduces the targets SpDef by -2! (I figure lowering defense is better in raids than boosting attack, since that increases everyones damage, not just yours - I feel like Austin's chart doesn't reflect that enough) And also Eerie Impulse & Light Screen which are great for shutting down special attackers. (I don't think Light Screen & Reflect can be removed by the raid 'mon, someone correct me if that's wrong) - so you have to heal less. Light Screen can also be extended to 8 turns with Light Clay, which should be most of the entire raid if not all of it!
@@Korohpu I don't know how I missed that effect on Acid Spray. I'll have to give that a shot too. If you could get a couple quick shots in a raid before they reset their stats that could be overpowered.
@@TheHunterNobles It actually is pretty great in my experience - my Bellibolt was capable of soloing Charizard, despite it resisting Electric! :D
A pokemon I like that you didn't mention is Iron Moth. Pretty interesting type, acid spray to lower special defense, fiery dance to attack and raise special attack, and morning sun to regain hp.
Bulky Annhilape is pretty great in raids too, you can tank hits and each time you get hit your Rage Punch gets more powerful, you can stat boost with Bulk Up, restore health with Drain Punch
I completely forgot about what made Rage Punch unique, so i was running Shadow Claw for a long time! LOL
@@DestronGaming yeah its very strong in these raids since the number won't go down. It just keeps growing. You can also 1 shot stuff by using bulk up before the shields of good matchups or 5 and maybe some 6
Hey man. Can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate all the time and effort you put in to making videos like this. All the info helps out a tonne. And im sure im not the only one who wants to show you some appreciation. Much love Austin John, keep up the great content.
i have kingambit built as dark, with the defiant ability for raids. with 405 attack it is amaizing, i normally use swords dance once and then end up getting my attack buffed through the boss debugging me, would 100% reccomend.
He is more useful maxed out for 5 star raids
I started to use king gambit for raids after seeing this video a few days ago and I love it. Thank you Austin for your awesome video's! Always watch them when they come out.
I have not tried king gambit with 6 star raids as I am not there yet, but does really well in 5 star raids. I swapped out low kick for low sweep to help drop speed. Depending on the raid low sweep is swapped for zen headbutt. Thought I would share if anyone is wanting to use that pokemon for raids.
AJP's pronunciation of Miraidon's ability at 5:05 is gold
Hard on engine lol
Austin thanks for the excellent and informative video, would you ever consider sharing your spreadsheets? Either by an only read doc or a locked PDF so people don’t mess them up maybe it would be extremely helpful. Keep up the good work .
I built a straight healer with Blissey. Life dew, heal pulse, light screen and flamethrower. only problem is this would be a great one to use when you are strategizing with friends to coop the raid
Same plan but I'm working with Eviolite Chansey with healer and Jiggly with Friend Guard
Koraidon can learn bulk up, so he can increase his attack
and swords dance
Austin, so thankful for you boss. Thanks for putting in that work!
I've had some luck using Iron Moth. Some good defensive typing on a good amount of raids. Acid Spray reduces the target's Sp Def by 2 stages even through the shield. Really useful on a team with other Sp Attackers such as Miraidon. And it is an attacking move so you also build up Tera Charge at the same time. It gets Fiery dance for the 50% chance of Sp Atk increase as well.
Was just looking for a comment mentioning Iron Moth, that's exactly what I run along with Black Sludge. It surprisingly becomes rather tanky as long as it doesn't take a SE hit
It also has Morning Sun for recovery
A good support i have used is max bulk Chansey with eviolite and ability healer. Moveset is Life Dew for healing whole team by 25%. Thunder wave for status if it's immune i use sing. Helping hand for damage boosting teammates. And either light screen for special resistance or soft boiled for self healing or heal pulse to heal a single ally. This is all about pure support Chancey is super tanking providing buffs and healing to the whole team it's been very valuable online.
I like playing support as well. I use Hatterene with heal pulse and life dew for healing, and if life dew isn't enough and I'm losing to much health, I have a sitrus berry to fall back on.
In the case of Cetitan, I built one with Sheer Force + Ice Punch. Sitrus Berry as held item because Shell Bell doesn't trigger. It's situational, but it can pack a real punch.
Scream Tail is a surprisingly good Pokémon in raids when it comes to support. Not only is it tanky, but it can learn both Light Screen and Reflect. Scream Tail can also learn Helping Hand for even more support!
I'd honestly recommend Gallade. Swords Dance, Sharpness (new ability) and his coverage moves that get boosted by sharpness are incredible and he can one shot a lot of raids after boosts
Genuinly curious about the viability of Esperatha for raids...
Has speed boost and calm mind (each turn could boost three stats)
Has calm mind which boosts its power by 20 with each bonus stat (so after each turn would increase by 60 base power)
If you have people cheering (would boost stats by 2 which would increase stored power's power) and then helping hand on final turn wondering if it could one shot?
Got a Iron, Ghold, and Grimm to cover all bases. Cheers for the tips
Best Pokemon RUclipsr by far, informative, useful, effective and the list goes on. I couldn't count how many times I have come to you for guidance. Thank you so much for all of your help.
The main issue is the raids are so glitchy, none of this typically helps and the Lvl 7 will be impossible. The number of times I've seen a boss heal from dead to half health, attack 5 times in a row, or even vanish and then reappear and one shot everyone is crazy.
Yea I tried doing a krookadile raid and it died and came back to life and countered me and I lost
I knocked it out after I belly drummed and hit it with play rough and it was like nope. No health left still lost
My main problem is the lag. One second, it’s full on the timer. The next, it’s a huge chunk down while we are standing around not able to do anything
Koraidon can learn swords dance through TM, making him very very good with both attacking nad sustaining health
I play as a supportive role. I use gardevoir with reflect, light screen, life dew, and helping hand with synchronize as an ability and light clay as the held item. I'm trying to get a hatterene with the same move sets but with magic bounce to not get taunt.
Ceruledge works really well with the metranome item. Just use bitter blade e every turn and heal up, and the move gets more powerful the more u use it. This also works well with any "drain" type move. Its a simple strat and works well.
I slapped a shell bell on my azumarill, it's enough to bring it back to full hp after the first swing so if you don't kill it and you get your stats lowered you can just belly drum a second time
Koraidon has swords dance. I’ve been demolishing 6 star raids with drain punch/swords dance and a metronome. Iron Valiant is also really good with Spirit Break decreasing special attack, as well as access to drain punch and swords dance.
What's your Iron Valiant Build?
@@sora43 Spirit Break/Drain Punch/Swords Dance/Taunt, 252 hp/252 atk/4 spdf, adamant, booster energy, tera fairy.
I use it for dragon and fighting types, especially special attacking ones.
Thanks
5:09 - You mispronounced HADRON Engine, it made me laugh! XD Love it!
Dang these are some spicy builds I gotta try these thank you Austin
Corviknight's hidden ability is Mirror Armour and can be great against status inflicting mons.
I’ve been putting bright powder on my iron hands, I’ve noticed that it gives me so many free turns bc the attacks miss him, ofc there’s exceptions but it helps a lot against high power moves with less than 100 accuracy
Do you use max HP Attack evs for your bright powder strat or naw? I am trying to make him tankier cause I get 1 shot after using belly drum on garchomp cause I’m too slow for drain punch…
@@johnmurphy3242 yes! Hyper trained in all stats except sp attack and speed, then maxed out his HP, he’s at 512 Hp now , makes up for him not being quick enough most of the time so he can eat a couple hits before he can land a drain punch lol
I'm using as a supporter a max IV and most driftet into special defense Blissey with helping hands, life dew, light shield and dazzling gleam as an attacking move
Teaching Tinkaton Swords Dance helped quite a bit with keeping her damage on par with some other options. Would be worth keeping her on deck for when you want a fairy.
Hey Austin, put shell bell into Azumarill works like a charm
Hatterene having draining kiss for sustain and magic bounce against all status moves could also be a potential support
this is the video that got me into endgame tera raids, so i just wanted to come thank you for that.
ive been messing around a bit with my iron hands (nature: +atk -spAtk) (evs: 252 hp/atk + filler spDef): drain punch, thunderpunch, belly drum, electric terrain. WITH punching glove. punching glove boost the power of your two main attacks while preventing you from ever proc'ing annoying abilities. electric terrain gives you some terrain control which im assuming will come in handy at some point.
the reason i like it is bc for easier raids, you dont even have to belly drum, you can first turn terrain (if you even need to do that) and be fine so its safer in that regard. but mostly i just love the constant power. no matter what you always have a boost, that can only continue to build. glove + belly drum + terrain and then throw on the cheers if you're fancy. specifically, i think it makes those times when all you're buffs get reset at the worst moments less punishing.
im working on getting myself an azumarrill (and gholdengo) currently. ty for showing a variety of mons and styles too.
just coming back here to comment something that could be really interesting. i just got a fairy tera farigiraf and was like huh, wonder if it gets any fairy special in its movepool.. and it does, with dazzling gleam. so now i have this idea for the upcoming charizard raid thingy.
farigiraf (fairy tera)
ability: armor tail
nature: modest
evs: 252 hp/spAtk
dazzling gleam, nasty plot, light screen, reflect
other notable nonsense: confuse ray, power/guard swap, calm mind, amnesia (pair with reflect), helping hand, trick room maybe? anyways, i thought it was interesting and ive been looking for a way to use one for ages.
I definitely run steel Kingambit on 6star raids where I have type advantage often times unless I see an aura sphere etc coming. He's not built like iron hands but he'll get the job done in 4-5 hits a lot depending on their shield. You do want Defiant on that guy for raids though you can get some really good first turns that way. Great video your uploads have been really helpful!
I’ve been using shell Bell as a means of recovery, since the Pokémons health pool is so large you gain large amounts of health back from attacking the raid pokemon
That might actually make my steel beam gholdengo better off then using metal coat thank you for reminding me shell bell exists
Yes, this! I've been using it on my Skeledirge.
This item helps alot in solo clears!
@@tsukiko3517 Yes! Shell Bell is the MVP for me so far!
Forgot that ursaluna can have guts. Give it a fire orb and not only is it now immune to stat conditions, but it gets a 50% multiplier on all its attacks, I think that makes up for it not having stab on drain punch
Pretty sure burn status is -50% attack? Just cancels out Guts while your taking damage. Mostly just useful for sleeptalk/snore builds ect (imo)
@@joeberns9668 Guts negates the attack nerf from burn, then adds on the +50%.
thanks to this video, everyone i party with online now uses the above pokemon with belly drum and die turn 1.
no hate to austin, your videos are great. i just wish more players learn how and when its appropriate to use this strat.
For the charizard dens I've used the cloak instead of the shell. Most people just came with attackers and not enough support so I used Huge Power Azumarril with light screen, rain dance, belly drum and play rough. Sometimes I was supporting with light screen, depending of the members raindance and the other two were I had to be the one attacking.
You can use Shell Bell and Aqua Ring for health on Azumarill.
Honestly just the bell. You hit hard enough where it works just fine.
Or Leftovers, if you have problems with Chip damage before you Start attacking
If you use Shell Bell on Azumarill u can get back your health pretty good with the big hit after the belly drum
Not when shield is up, on lvl 6-7 raids.
Hey Man, great work! Just a suggestions for next time, can you maybe put your camera on the bottom left of the display instead of the top right? Because it hid the Tera type on most mons. Keep up the good work!
I want to say thank you for an informative video that did not segue into yet another "this game is buggy" rant that so many people have been doing.
This is very useful and I will be making use of your advice, thank you!
I think a lost of hold items would be really nice too. I keep seeing a lot of videos about what Pokemon and moves are good for raids, but outside of Boost Energy none of them mention some good held items to give the Pokemon. I know Shell Bell is really good for Belly Drummers, but what else? Leftovers? Stuff like Charcoal, Soft Sand and Sharp Beak? Clear Amulet or Covert Cloak? Do items like King's Rock, Bright Powder or Rocky Helmet work against raid bosses?
From my experience she’ll hell is extremely good, slivers of damage heal more than leftovers in most cases. Damage boosting items, like punching glove, are pretty solid when you have access to those healing/attacking moves.
Also booster energy on physical/drain punch/belly drum attackers makes less sense to me, unless it stacks on top of belly drum +6
@@calebwalker143 I use the Boost Energy for Iron Hands and Shell Bell for Azumarill, but sometimes the raid matchup just doesn't allow me to use those two Pokemon.
I've found the time wasted on the Leftovers animation can be important in some cases.
