Hey Crozyn, really love your mono-class builds. There aren't many mono-class builds on YT so this is really helpful for people who really want to stick to a single class like me :)

Bg3 is my first time playing a dnd based game. Used this build for my shadowheart all the way thru, and she was cracked from start to finish. It’ll be hard using other builds bc this is definitely my favorite. Love your videos and how you go thru the building process. It helps a lot for someone completely new to all this! Thank you for your hard work 🙏🏼
I'm using this build again for honour mode and it's working well so far as a healing build! I'm probably going to use different items this time around and maybe go to 11 life cleric with a multiclass 1 level dip in something (we'll see).
@@Crozyn Good luck with honor mode!! Same as you, I’ll probably be using your builds for multiple campaigns going forward. I also use your rogue thief build for Astarion! Both him and shadowheart almost never leave the party, they’re too good 😅
I’m not using Astarion in my honour mode run, but I’m using Laezel as fighter/rogue dual wielder dex build. If it works well I’ll probably make a build on that in the future. Life cleric is making the run easy so far!

Great build. I also converted Shadowheart in "Life domain's" cleric. In fact your build is almost the same as the one I used. The only difference is that I preferred strength over dexterity to better use certain weapons like Blood of Lathander's mace.
Yeah both stats work. It's weird this mace I have gives me 18 strength. Next I'm trying to work on some crazy shove/throw build, but I might run out of time getting it finalized cause Starfield later this week.
@@Crozyn you seem to have skipped lvl 2 to 4 in your guide.
Besides preparing your spells, there isn't much to go over on those levels until the feats. I instead went for a "prepared spells" category after the "level upgrades" part. The main early spells to add to your arsenal are aid at level 3 and spirit guardians at level 5. Also, this wasn't in the vid, but command: halt/drop and bless are excellent spells to use right from the start. @@MattDoesLife539
Just came back to say that this build works great for honour mode! I only changed a few things, but kept 11 points in life cleric for the Deva.

I'm probably going to make a revised version of this build soon. The stats/build is fine, but I didn't showcase the best healing items from act 1 since I missed them on that run. Don't forget the whispering promise ring!
imo, the build is good, but structured as a progression would also be cool, following the recommended spells was difficult since i didnt have the ones recommended at my progression stage, so made my own decisions for slots, however its still a solid guide@@Crozyn
Deva's fly is insanely powerful. Being able to move across the room to pick up a downed party member is immense
Yeah clerics are great. I'm probably going to run some variation of life cleric for Shadow in honour mode.
For rp purposes I usually change shadowhearts build to something like this to reflect how she turned against shars teachings and escaped the darkness right when she gets her silver hair/forsakes lady shar.
Hero feast is a really good level six as well
The Deva is crazy powerful

Volo has a ring when you first meet him that is great for healers
The whispering promise ring. Really good for the whole game with bless for 2 turns. I didn't have it back when I made this video.
So I'm totally new to the series and was wondering, if I just make a custome character or play as shadowheart herself since she is already my favorite
Play as both! If you're playing as Shadow you might want to use a bit more charisma though for easier dialogue checks.
Does it have to be shadowheart or would a normal char work for say a MP run thru?
A normal character would work too, but you may want higher charisma for a better chance at persuasion success in dialogue.

I just don't use it since there are so many good high level spells for cleric. I recommend watching the newer version I made. It's a more defined build.

Savevok's helm, cloak of displacement, armour of agility, the reviving hands, boots of striding, spellcrux amulet, ring of regeneration, ring of mental inhibition, viconia's walking fortress shield, handmaiden's mace.

Take Shadowheart to Withers at camp to respec.
Idk how many levels to pour into bard only vs cleric or what
The game isn’t letting me get those starting by stars. I can’t raise constitution beyond 15???
You should be able to get 17 in one stat and 16 in another. Make sure the bonuses are applied.
@@Crozyn yeah…. I have the ps5 version and just didn’t see where I can change the plus one and plus two lol
Just figured out a workaround for my fellow PS5 players. Switch to another class like Druid, change the Bonus, and switch back to Cleric. Should be able to change Bonuses for Cleric now.
@@InvisibleInMyBox thank you - I got SO frustrated with this last night.
@@nshaw774 further adding, you don't have to adjust them in the other class on ps5. Just tab over to the class and then go back to the original class. It's a weird bug we have.

Why are you using a medium armor that let you use your entide dex if you only have +2? Wouldn't be better an other armor with better effects, considering all medium armor can have +2 from dex?
Medium armor is arguably the best type of armor, especially for Shadow if you consider luminous armor.

Check if the goblin traders have it. Otherwise you may have to wait until act 3 or reload a save.

Handmaiden's mace puts your strength at 18. It's great for characters with low strength as they can deal some melee damage as a filler attack.

Why dex? You're probably going heavy armor with her anyway.
Higher initiative, dex bonus for AC, ranged weapon damage if you need it, and no hinderance from stealth disadvantage on heavy armour. I can see strength or dex working, but it depends on what type of party/playstyle you have too.
What the guy above said. Your build isn’t gonna matter when your a slow poke in turn order and get snacked by 13 enemies before you get your turn.
@@austyn158Counter point. If she's positioned in the back having low initiative can have a benefit of being reactive. Which is a benefit for a character focusing on healing. Everyone takes their turn then you reactively heal/revive.
It's a situational benefit, but not to be overlooked.
For anyone like me who doesn’t exactly understand what this debate here was about, so Medium armor gives you the base AC + your dex bonus(max +2), Heavy armor gives you only the base AC, (that is usually higher than medium but you CAN make up for it with the dex bonus). Heavy armor gives you a disadvantage on stealth checks, medium armor doesn’t (some do but generally not), and a higher dex is good because your dex bonus gets added to your initiative roll, a higher strength is good for more melee damage. The argument that a lower initiative is good because you can heal every other person after the enemies attacked is not that great because if your first you still get your turn after everyone else, it’s just that you get one extra turn at the beginning…ok that’s all from me bb

like i'd thing straight up advantage would be better than +1 prof
War caster isn't bad either and there's a case for both feats. If you're using amulet of greater health, you'll get advantage that way instead.

I've also seen a bunch of armours with it
I ignored wisdom and dex on shadowheart, and used strength 16, con 15, dualwield feat with staff of arcane blessing. Shield is trash, grab con resilience, extra stats to whatever i felt was good. And yeah, most cleeic skills dont use wis modifier, its either a saving throw or just hits.
The difficulty of the saving throw depends on your casting stat.
