To add to this: At 12:32 when you kill the mama dragon, you can do it by the tail nearest the site of grace. When it's about to die (sliver of health left) get on your horse and optionally use the fowl foot. Keep swinging while on horseback. Keep a close eye on how it moves, when it dies it will violently twitch. When you see that twitch reaction, rush back to the site of grace and activate it as fast as you can. When done correctly, you should have gotten a large number of runes AND the dragon should respawn. This makes farming the big mama dragon repeatable.
Fantastic guide. I tried to get this spell twice by exploring and I got killed and lost runes. But, it was still fun. Now, its time to level up my INT.
One thing I would suggest here: Do the elder dragon right when you pick up the medallion in Caelid. If you start Prisoner, you can pickup the Flail in Gatefront Ruins. With Radagon's you can immediately equip it and the weapon art is great to proc the bleeds :) Everyone else is always suggesting Samurai or Reduvia, but I think this is superior if you want to go Int.
Flail does a fine job at killing the dragon. Could also grab the uchigatana from the catacombs in limgrave (think it's where the black knife print is, near where you get the dueling finger)
I always grab the morningstar in a wagon when you go to Fort Morne. It surrounded by dogs, some knights and a giant but you can ez jump off torrent, grab and go away again and not far further is a site of grace too. Altough flail is much closer to the beginning
well i might have to respec and stop using melee weapons and lose all my vigor. don’t want to lose my mind though as i need lots to use this spell and summon certain spirit ashes. aarrggh might need to just grind to get intelligence up lol

It doesn't, after the Festival is complete, it will reset to how it was before. Some questlines will be cut short by the festival though, since the characters involved with it will be moved there immediately.

actually takes a little longer than an hour. its an hour IF you already have all the waypoints. new characters arent going to have them, thus will take roughly an hour and 45 minutes-ish. doable with literally nothing tho
No this is wrong. I do it fresh without using SoGs. Can do it in an hour with getting lucky with Night’s Cavalry jumping off bridge and just travelling by torrent/foot :)

One always can only accept the ppl bitchin about a video to get good stuff early game, and as almost always, they can´t even explain, why they were watching a video-guide they would prolly never follow...and why they have to bitch about the video-guide afterwards. "Each to his own" . imho it is great, that in this game there are several, well, countless ways to get a char started with good equip/status. For me, it (also) is a lot of fun to do so with many different classes. Peace.

There's something you can get way earlier with little to no effort and way less leveling that does more damage, more consistently so your build can be focused on other things.

It locks you out of certain rooms in redmane castle with loot; you also skip a boss. pretty sure its a small minor boss.

You may get it in first hour but its gonna take a lot of grinding and leveling before you can actually USE it lol 😂
