    I think deathblight should have been similar to the zombie status effect from Final Fantasy, where healing sources now deal damage to anything afflicted to it, as well as giving a holy weakness (which might actually make the eclipse shovel somewhat good)

      Honestly, it's not worth it. First of all, you lose a lot of physical damage simply by having that infusion, in contrast to the occult infusion. Secondly, due to the rate at which deadly poison runs out, you can continuously proc the kindred of rot exultation, resulting in near-permanent +20% damage (which isn't possible with the poison infusion). You lose all those benefits just for a bit more poison duration with the poison affinity

    i commented this on a different video but no one ever saw the comment so ima share it here:
    i think a cool deathblight rework that would allow it to work on normal enemies, be unique, but not too broken, would be to have death blight kinda work as a secondary posture system where the roots entrap an enemy when the meter gets full and allow for a riposte or a big charged heavy or whatever. this would allow it to work on normal enemies in a way that isnt overpowered and it could still work normally on npc enemies and i think it sounds fun im sure fromsoft wouldnt make this change at this point so im not tryna rally the troops and get people to advocate for this i just think itd be cool

    The only use for madness in pve outside of the few enemies susceptible to it is the black dumpling, which gives a damage boost when madness procs in your vicinity. I find this is more reliable as a buff setup than poison is because madness isn’t a DOT effect like poison

    Probably had the most fun in pvp with my Arcane build which made use of these. I started off with a twinblade which would inflict frost, then switch to my dual rapiers one of which inflicted poison the other scarlet rot. Finally once fully infected I finished them off with dual blood whips.

  • @AceAviations2

    Theres a third poison type, the Poison Spraymist item has a Poison that's STRONGER than the Scarlet Rot weapons but weaker than the spells, it also lasts 30 seconds.
    Not only that it procs quite quickly, it may have low bbuildup per tick, how it last 7 seconds and each second has 5 ticks of buildup. While Arcane makes them better, they're still quite good with base Arcane.
    Also if I'm remembering correctly the Poisonous Mist Ash of War buffs your weapon with Deadly Poison as well as the cloud it spawns.

    When the game first came out I remembered a lot of people telling me traditional quality(STR/DEX) was dead because the game was all about magic, but that's my favorite build in every fromsoft game. I used off hand cold and main hand fire bandit's curved swords and the build was absolutely insane. Might have been the bandit's curved swords being broken, but resetting and reapplying frost with L1's was a blast, jumping attack was absolutely broken too. Highly recommend claw, ritual sword, milicent's prosthesis, and winged/rotten sword talismans with this build. There aren't many enemies in the game that resist fire/frost damage, but when they do, you can switch to another damage type like lightning, or just go bleed.

It staggers like crazy, hits hard, procs fast and barely costs fp.

    @ItsNothingAmazing 4 месяца назад

    For the sleep section, you should've briefly spoke about the ripple crescent halberd when talking about sleep weapons. It's technically the best 'sleep weapon' in the game due to its arcane scaling and it also has nice reach since it's a halberd. Unfortunately it's mostly useful in pvp and it requires greases, although if you do have enough and mostly play pvp, the weapon is pretty much a cheat code.

  • @GoonCommander
    @GoonCommander 5 месяцев назад +10

    Also thanks for telling people not to do the frost reset build.
    It's overall a terrible Idea. People would often point to "Let me solo her" and how he apparently uses Rivers and a Cold Uchi but like Malenia has both very low bleed and very low frost resist so, regardless if it's better than not resetting frost, the reset build works better on her than other enemies.
    I think you generally have to do more than 6000 dpm against malenia to make the frost debuff more useful than frost resetting but damage that low probably happens if your not using buffs so I guess frost resetting is optimal for the people who use it.

    • @Not____Applicable
      @Not____Applicable 5 месяцев назад +4

      No, let me solo her was not the one to do it and wasn’t the only one who knew about it in during the time slightly after release of the game. Idk why yall are trying to tell people not to do it but it definitely works effectively. I wouldn’t best the entire game if that were the case.

    • @GoonCommander
      @GoonCommander 5 месяцев назад +4

      The point is that just using the frost debuff to do 20% more damage is better at higher dps since the frostbite damage is a flat%
      When it's possible to kill malenia in 1 minute which is like 500 damage per second getting boosted by 20% for at least half the time or an extra 100 dps. This is much faster than relying on the frostbite damage and having to proc it like 4 times as her frost resist goes up. In order for frost resetting to be your best method of damage dealing you have to already have such a low DPS that your either not using buffs for some reason or your not taking your openings/getting hit a bunch

    I think that frost buildup does scale with intelligence on a cold infusion. I use a cold flamberge that has 115 frost buildup with the chilling mist ash of war. Maybe I'm wrong or something.

    • @achmadtitofauzan3809
      @achmadtitofauzan3809 5 месяцев назад +1

      I think it works like fire and flame art tho, except cold does indeed scale with INT, thus making it a lot stronger than fire (in my opinion). Even if your INT is low, cold still deals high damage. I made several STR based builds and put cold affinity on my weapons, still slaps even though my INT is below 20 or something, leveling INT just further increasing the burst damage.
      I think cold and fire don't rely much on their respective elements, both have a relatively equal split damage between physical and elemental, while magic and flame art depend too mucn on their elemental properties

    Deathblight is basically just Curse from DS1 and you have no way of causing the effect yourself. So they kept this, in my opinion, cool gameplay mechanic in Elden Ring but gave you a way to cause it to other players. It's purposefully bad because as said in the video it's hard to balance and also it's okay to have a build in a game that is explicitly terrible it's about whether you enjoy that build considering more than just it's viability. But since players now have a way of causing it, deathblight gets shitted on as if it's something that needs to be changed. I don't see anyone complaining about not being able to Petrify enemies in DS2.

    Bleed, Rot and Frost S tier for PvE. Madness and Sleep S tier for PvP

    Madness makes sense why it doesn’t apply on anyone not tarnished. Demigods were born under the erdtree so the greater will has more control. Other beings not so much but that lore detail never bothered me. How strange it does for you.

    • @triploshadow
      @triploshadow 5 месяцев назад +6

      Madness is the expression of power of the outergod of chaos much like scarlet rot is the same to the outergod of rot. If demigods can get rotted it doesn't make sense as to why they would be immune to madness.

      They take like 2% of enemy hp over 2s, Black Flame Tornado being the only variant where it stacks with multihit I beleave. Also, destined death temporarily reduces enemy max hp by 10% but it gets regained after 15s.

    Rot does scale, no there's no rot infusion but if you take a rot weapon and give it any arcane infusion the rot will scale.

    Frostbite is the best by such a huge margin. The fact that it’s impossible to roll the debuff just puts it in a different league from bleed, at least in PvP. A good player can roll their bleed procs, but there’s no escaping the 20% frost debuff from a really aggressive player in a duel with standard latency.

    Nah,
    Bleed better than frost, sleep definitely up high, and the two poisons are practically identical.
    Maybe because I put more weight on PvP, but sleep is pretty much instant death, especially when you're out numbered. In PvE, that's extra stun. You get that stun on top of the stance break, often times you get a stance break because the enemy was sleeping. The only issue is the lack of ways to apply it, but the bombs and buff do so much that you don't need other ways to apply it.
    Id give more credit to Death, very fun in invasions, but it is the worst because its useless everywhere else.

    Honestly, madness being ranked as the third worst status effect in this video should be (at least) a small reason why people should just give up on Vike’s war spear (I’m saying this because Vike’s war spear being the only weapon in the game that can build up madness is an incredibly poor excuse to be the best weapon in the game)

      All status effects proc together! He’s not saying otherwise he’s just saying basically that if you’re into resetting frostbite with fire you might as well choose bleed! (I personally disagree but only because of Deaths Poker) if not for this weapon? I’d just stick to bleed although this is the reason on other play throughs I carry a cold GS stitcher and a bleed GS stitcher! Inflict frostbite with one and unleash 99 arcane with blood loss! He’s not saying the two don’t work together he’s just saying that overall, bleed is 👑

    Saying this before I even start the video, the best two are scarlet rot and frost is #1.
    My reasoning is that scarlet rot seems to be the single most reliable status effect while also being generally more powerful than poison. And frost is just the most powerful in my opinion cause it boosts the damage of everything besides fire by 20% which is extremely useful.

      Scarlet rot has its use, but what’s the point of waiting the DoT, if you can bleed them to death quickly?

    • @Aiden-Ed
      @Aiden-Ed 5 месяцев назад

      @@EldenRingBuildsArchivecause there’s a ton of bleed resistant or immune enemies and bosses. Bleed is better on bosses but frost is even better than bleed for bosses too. And scarlet rot still adds an indefinite amount of damage between hits. If you proc rot once then it will usually do 1/3 of the bosses health guaranteed. It makes diminishing returns and just an active playstyle not be completely necessary and something that weighs down the status like bleed does.

    Idk why you say frost isn’t dependent on any stat either since most frost spells are magic spells which in turn get stronger with intelligence. Frostbite itself doesn’t increase from intelligence but magic spells like chilling mist do. The base damage increases which can only help the build up when it procs.

    Bleed; and to a lesser degree, frostbite, are two ailments that I have to admit to not liking, and growing to dislike even more as the game went on. The 'win-more' mechanics of flat percentile damage are either something you are just leaving on the table by not using them, or your build already melts things fast enough to not need that damage to begin with. Meanwhile; I actually like destined death and black flame more and more as I've played. Mostly because its not instant pops of said damage; but an almost better version of poison and scarlet rot, that also stacks with both.
    it's a shame poison will never be as good as its DkS2 version though; and I'd honestly take the bleed status from that game too, if only to not have it just be "pop, there goes some health".
