I really like the GH7. But, I picked up the S5ii from MPB instead. I'm going back to full frame, baby. But, if I had extra dough, I would definitely get the GH7. I started off my filmmaking career with LUMIX, having shot a feature film with the GH5. I'm happy to be going back to LUMIX.
Thanks for this video Low light you give the ISO but not the aperture or the shutter speed it's a shame. Shutter in 50 fps we are limited to 1/50s in 25 fps we can go to 1/25s (often my choice in low light)
Hey there, glad you enjoyed the video. As a rule I generally shoot double the frame rate for shutter speed. So these would have been at 1/50th with me adjusting the aperture to keep the exposure under control as I upped the ISO for the test. It isn't a perfect test but hopefully gives you a good idea of what the camera is capable of. Thanks for tuning in - Amy
This is a difficult question and depends totally on your needs. The FX3 works well with a Sony ecosystem, has a full-frame sensor, no viewfinder and multiple mounting points for accessories such as monitors. The GH7 has a micro four thirds sensor, is feature packed, works well within a Panasonic ecosystem, has a viewfinder and strong stabilisation. Although in a lot of instances both of the cameras would offer similar quality and recording capabilities, there are also a lot of ways in which they differ and therefore, what they are able to capture differs. This is most noticeable with extremes, e.g extremely long recording times, high frame rates for slow motion, capabilities in low light etc. If you have a use case, I'm happy to give more specific details, but I hope this initial overview helps you to narrow down what it is you're after. I love wildlife photography, most of the time doing birding and sometimes I take videos too. So I'm thinking about which one to buy G9ii or GH7....!
