Are you an architect? If you are, I have one really important question here.how well do I need to know how to draw in order to be a successful architect. Please help me , I'm still in highschool and I'm gong to have to pick universitys very soon .
@@dhruvik1711 I think as long as you can explain your design ideas with drawing. Just good enough so people can understand your design. (sorry for my bad english)
I was only in architecture for a year before I switched to construction Science, but this video is 1000% accurate, and especially accurate with my friends who are still in architecture
The sad part about the last part is that people who aren't in the arch field thinks that we make excuses when in reality we HAVE a lot of studio work. They start comparing to us like " Oh even we are in the design field, and are busy too, yet we make time for our loved ones" and I am there like "BRUH I AM AN ARCH STUDENT,THE LEVEL OF PRESSURE IS DIFFERENT!!!"
This video actually *put me off studying Architecture* . Thanks. I'm going back to my 8 to 5 job tomorrow with guaranteed pay at the end of the month👍no stressing.
I remember in my first year Pharrell released his song up all night to get lucky. People to to make so many renditions. I'm up all night to finish my model, I'm up all night to cad. The amount of people who cut themselves with Stanley's because they building last minute rush models without sleeping for days. I had to once take a guy to hospital because he cut his index finger to the bone making his model but he still insisted we only go after hand in and presentation
Hahhaha great stuff man, nice architecture student channel. I've been doing a show series, up to Episode 071 now, on engineering student advice. My #2 video is civil engineering vs architecture! Love what you are doing, cheers!!!

true to the core... especially the studio part... "eew that model's gross!!" "i think i'll just quit!"... plus the part where you keep on missing out on things that mean so much to you and rest of you because of the demanding nature of the course.. been there...
I wanna study architecture and i'm kinda scared it'll be more than what i can take... i'm in a pretty strict high school and i basically do all the things you mention in the video but instead of models and drawings, it's just homework lol
Haha! Hey Ray! LOVE YOUR CHANNEL! Im an architecture student as well. Like finally found a architect channel! Thanks for making this awesome channel! I will promote u to my whole studio mates😂 Support you and please keep making videos! Thumbs up!

lmao when its near your final presentation and every goddamn people in the studio asking "are you done yet?" like no freaking no i will never finish it until i actually have to presents them
I don't know if i am late, but, with university you should go for what you enjoy and what you want to learn. If Engineering is something you will enjoy for 3 years and enjoy even when it is challenging. Then go for it, same goes for Architecture :) i had the same problem when choosing between CS and architecture.
fasterthings hey there glad to see people have had the same issues as im having. I started out my first year in architecture but felt like i wanted a little more plus talk about low pay and hard job finding kinda scared me off, so this first semester of sophomore year i changed over to civil, my biggest fear however now is that i might not have much say in the design of the building as a civil engineer, is this true in your experience? And what exactly do you do as an architectural engineer and civil engineer for the other that aslo replied, thanks for any feedback
Architectural engineering (AE or ArchE) is almost like structural engineering, both are in the Civil engineering field. An AE deals with what the architect cannot do. An AE will work with Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Foundations, Steel/Concrete/Wood design, Lighting, Electrical Circuits, Structural Analysis, Aerospace, and much more. I think that AE is the most diverse engineering degree. It take principles from just about every engineering degree and architecture degree. Civil engineers will not know how to do most of these things, but they will know more about water design and road design. Obviously, a structural engineer will do all of the structural work. Although the AE does important work, both engineers and architects often look down on them. Architects will do this because they believe that AE lacks creativity, which is false. This mostly comes from the stereotype that engineers are devoid of artistic ability. Civil engineers (and really all other engineers) often think that AE is easier (Less engineering and more fun, happy, easy architecture classes.) This comes from the inflated egos of engineers that believe that engineering is the only difficult major. Architectural engineering is no joke. Get ready for hell. Oh, and don't forget to have fun because that's what's important, right? Right...
i really like your channel ! i think i watched all the videos that you posted lol , i hope i can be an Architecture student in 2 years , wish me luck !

"this model is gonna take just x days" ends up being x5 those days.
The "are you done" part is sooo accurate... At some point I just yelled at them "NO! I'M NOT FINISHED! I'M NEVER GONNA BE FINISHED! GET AWAY FROM ME!"
"Guys I'm gonna quit architecture" 😂😭 ON POINT
Jenessa Ann Rose I dealt that moment 😂
Every architecture student at some point 😭😂

Almost halfway thru my first semester, already missed a close friend's wedding.
this is so apt! me and my friends would also 'compete' on how much sleep we lost on weeks to final presentation
"Just eye ball it, no one's going to notice trust me.." SUREEEEE HAHAHAHAHA 😂
