Welcome to part 2!
It doesn't matter if it's a high-dollar partscaster or a budget one; completing a new guitar build is absolutely the BEST!
Enjoy the build and the tones :)
Can I get this build in left handed??
Very cool guitar! Just, you didn't demo the sounds of both pick-ups together!
You totally inspired me, part of my guitarfetish purchase is on the way, cheers from Montevideo.
Man you should do a Explorer build next time, it can be cool and very unique.
Hey Darrell, have you done a full, set neck kit build? I found the painting of the body to be the most rewarding part of the process.
Nice build....you are inspiring me do my 1st build. My wife has limited my guitar purchases to 4, so this maybe my loophole
Telecasters are way cooler than I originally thought.
I know, right? Fell in love with them the first I picked one up.
@@pedrobastos8132 - I used to believe I was a Strat guy - until I played a Tele Deluxe! 😀
Tele and LP are the only body styles I play on. Not sure why I'm not a fan of other styles....
I have been a tele guy for years but the funny thing is as a teenager I thought they were the ugliest body shape ever now I’m in love with em and it seem that’s the case for a lot of ppl
@Marv Gardens seems like it
Call me crazy, but I think this would not only be good as a vintage Tele build, but also a pretty good like 90s early 2000s pop punk. Especially in that surf green colour
Hi crazy, I'm dad! Nice build DB
Sure, put then you need a full size humbucking Invader bridge pickup...
@@kitoyobeni1 or an SH-4!
It’s been scientifically proven that seafoam green is the greatest color. So classic and tasty.
This build makes me wanna make a cream white black pickguard Tele so bad
I’ve honestly never that big a fan of single coil pick ups but when you hit that first chord on the bridge I sat in silence for a minute in sheer awe. This video with the solder-less electronics has definitely inspired my to do my own kit.
Well the bridge was a humbucker, not a single coil, it's a hot rail style
@@brendanstill6747 ....................yeah, that makes sense I guess
@@brendanstill6747 that's not a hotrail.
@@simonpepper9721Which is why he said "hot rail style", lol.
@@NickyP4389 what a jip, phony blighters.
Those quick connects are awesome. They make the build, and potentially future pickup swaps, SO easy!
Looks and sounds great Darrell. I've often wondered how GF stuff sounds and the quality of their parts. Looks very promising, thanks
Haven't finished the video but I already feel motivated to do my own build! Thank you for the knowledge Darrell! Have a great evening!
Awesome content Darrell!! I love the sound of the 'Lil puncher split, and as a Humbucker great tones for a cost effective pickup.
Beautiful work! Those pickup's sound great. Thank you for sharing.
Great tones and looks gorgeous!!! 🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸
Darrell, love the channel. The mix of demos and builds is the best content on RUclips. You inspired me to build my first guitar - a Solo Tele kit. It was a blast. I’ve always played S style guitars and it’s my first tele. I’m definitely a convert!
It's like a hybrid between classic tele and a SG. Love the range of tones
I like that 72 custom delux style Tele . Turned out really nice .
My Squire is a 72 and after seeing this, I'm going to replace the guts of mine with parts from these folks Darrell used. Killer sound.
Those knobs set the whole thing off, I want one just like it now!
THIS is the ONE Darrell.
This is the one. bloody hell. Exactly the tone i wanted! Exactly!
Thank you , yep. Thanks very much!
Cheers from Portugal
In you hands Darrell that guitar sounds great 👏👏👏👏👏👍🇬🇧
You can never go wrong with a Surf Green Beauty!
Exactly! Didn't they make it mandatory in 2020 that no guitar collection is complete without a surf green Tele and a pink Strat? I bought both in 20, I'm almost of of reasons with the wife " Why I need this guitar" 😆
@@davidkastin4240 Slight disagreement, Surf Green and Daphne Blue Strats, a Soloist, and a San Dimas. I want a Surf Green 70th Anniversary Esquire, but my wife has spoiled me in growing my guitar collection (including a Fender Custom Shop purchase), so I won't be getting any new guitars for quite a while. I will add Pink Strats are pretty cool looking.
@@davidkastin4240 make that strat pink paisley for me...
Perfect build and really cool 72'custom tele😍
It turned out great! Beautiful and sounds rockin'! I was looking at those bodies, same color. Just finished a parts build a couple three months ago, love the surf green!
The result is great! I loved the looks and I liked the sounds a lot! Definetely worth it!
Your content is wildly inspiring, positive, and exciting. And it makes me excited to play, learn, and maybe even build a guitar someday! Thanks for what you do. It's not easy to be in front of the camera, and you do it well. :)
I'd love this but just in the classic Tele yellow, and with the classic Tele pickguard and selector switch and knobs! The coil split, and humbuckers are incredible choices. I'm currently upgrading my Squier Jaguar to have humbuckers in the bridge/neck and going to go with a coil split as well, can't wait!
Beautiful colours and best of all a great tele sound
Thanks for another great video, Darrell. I was very close to ordering a my first kit but was confused about hardware and pickups. This cleared up a lot of my questions and choices. Thanks again. Enjoy all of your content.
Amazing build. Sounds absolutely beautiful. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Josh!
I AM having a fantastic day today. Thank you Darrell. Hope you are too haha
Congratulations ! And thanks you for all the details .Very usefull, as always ...
Nice work on the shielding paint job. Perfect.
What a beauty, very nice. Another great review. Thanks again 👍🏻
I liked that. Very clear. I'm ready for that level of build.
Looks and sounds great. Love the colour
It's here!! This is why I subscribed. You left me on a cliff in part one so here I am. I think I'll stay though, I've loved your videos a lot!
Great budget build videos. I used to play years ago, but an injury stopped me for 30 years. I had been wanting to try playing again, so last summer when I saw the Glarry guitars, they were so cheap I bought one of their strat clones. If my old injuries were going to keep me from playing again I'd only be out 60 bucks so I couldn't lose. That went surprisingly well, both the playing and the guitar, but left me wanting for a better one. My injuries still limit me so I didn't want to invest Fender money in an instrument, but this has me inspired. I can literally build exactly the tele I want for a fraction of the money, and no soldering. The sound was amazing too. I am in the process of putting my parts list together right now. :-)
Looks and sounds amazing! Nice job!
Thanks man!
Looks really great!
Love that glossy finish neck!!
Wow..that thing sounds awesome!!! and the paint job is "distinctly minty-monty" Killer build, brother!
I absolutely love this guitar the look and the tone are awesome!!!
Sweet looking build.
Nothing like an awesome tele. Sick build!
By far my favorite build you’ve done and I love that guitar. Keep bringing the videos 🤘
What a sound! Perfect sound!
Holy crunch! That sounds awesome.
Dam, that’s sounds absolutely amazing!!!
Great sounding Tele. Pretty too. I want to build a guitar. Your build videos are gold to me. Thanks for sharing!
Sweet sounding Budget Tele build. Thats one killer of a tele
Really neat video Daryl. Thanks for the content!
I priced out a similar build, not bad for the money. The up in quality from cheap kits and ease of assembly (minus the drilling) is a great way to go. I was totally impressed to do this for myself. I don't have a Tele or P90 guitar, so guess what I'ma going to build. Thanks for videos, keep up the good work.
Can't wait to hear clean tones (and maybe some slight break up ones too) - and the middle position! Lovely build!
Sounds great brother.
I'm a sucker for a surf green tele and this looks awesome. 😍
Turned out great! I love that bridge pickup in both modes. Thanks, Darrell. Soli Deo gloria!
Man it looks and sounds amazing ! Great job !
Tele Customs are underrated. Middle position, using the volume and tone at different mixes you can get tons of unique tones. Love the finished guitar, man!
Nice built as always.
Have a Fender loaded pickguard and no guitar to put it into so after watching your video I went to Guitar Fetish and bought a XGP Strat body and neck along with all the pieces and parts I'd need, put it all together last night and did a setup this morning, good quality parts at a great price! Only issue I had was some overspray in the neck pocket, spent about a half hour cleaning it up and fitting the neck, other than that, it's great! Thanks for this episode! All the parts I bought cost less than the loaded pickguard!
I loved this build. Very realistic for the average consumer. I would like to see another build video but using a Les Paul body style from Guitar Fetish and maybe show a video how you drilled the holes.
Great build!
I was sure, Strats were the only guitars for me, 'till I got a Squier Thin Line semi acoustic. Well, I changed the bridge pu to a Di'Marzio and to fit the output, I gave it a Seymour Duncan neck pickup. The playability is awesome, and it's a beautiful instrument. Now I'm certain, I must have a solid Telecaster, and exactly this build made me sure, i'll build the same. Thanks a lot for sharing this. Cheers from Denmark.
Nicely done Darrell
A very good video, I truly enjoyed watching you build this one. I also like the soldierless connections, I have those on my Les Paul and changing pickups is a whole different experience. A very easy option I would like to have on all my guitars.
Thanks again! Keep up the good work.👍😀✌️
Great video. I'm into building and customizing my own now. The only way to go and fun projects to work on.
Dude I loooooove your channel! I have learned so much about guitars and how they work from you. I’m a guitar newb but love learning to play but I also love knowing how stuff works. I have my cheap o Squier affinity that I learn on but also recently acquired an old Squier bullet Strat that has turned into a complete overhaul. And now I have ordered a Tele kit from one of your other videos. Thanks so much!!! Keep up the great work!!
Nice and cheap guitar... love it and also looks great. Good job!!!!
Awesome build. Love your channel.
Sounds pretty damn good!
Tackling my first build, a short-scale p-bass, now. This may have to be next. That neck pick up with the tone rolled off is sweet!
Great job man!
Really enjoy all of your videos!
Those picups are complementig very nice to eich aother.
Sound amasing.
Good job.
Tely rock.
Stay safe and keep on rocin' 👌😎👍
Yellow tinted neck looks great against the sea foam green! Sounds great.
That neck looks beautiful.
great sounding guitar!
man I just love watching your videos
And you...?
You are a hero!
Good work!
👍👍👍
You gave me a great idea for what guitar i should make
I need to get that wiring harness. I did a really poor job wiring my strat when I upgraded the electronics.
Sounds awesome
Darrell I've been thinking about doing a build for some time now and your videos on this guitar finally inspired me to do it. Just my luck they are sold out of all tele necks. The other problem is all of their tele bodies are beautiful, can't make up my mind.
Man that quick connect is a god send. That should be the industry standard. The one part I hate about modifying guitars is doing soldering and wiring.
It gets incredibly easier over time. The only part I hate is getting my setup out of my tool box. For the cost of one professional install you could buy the equipment necessary to do a hundred yourself. It's a no-brainer.
Nice build Darrell - That has come out really nice :)
The headstock logo!! 😲 Forgot that bit, eh! But man, this tele looks beautiful.
I love your solos man. Keep up
Sounds lovely.
Brilliant video. Great choices of parts.Well presented, Fantastic guitar... I want it, lol :-)
Man, I fell in love with your guitar. I want one very badly.
Awesome video! I’m inspired!
Great Job as always Darrell! been biding my time to build something soon, but Ontario went into lockdown I'm sure you know, so holding off till things go back to normal for now.
Love love your work bro. Happy days from Australia. 😉👍
Holy crap, I had completely forgotten about Guitar Fetish... I just bought a beautiful and mint Jay Turser Tele copy for really cheap money, will check them out for any upgrades I will decide on doing! Thx!
Guitarfetish pickups are definitely worth checking out. I've bought a vintage single coil tele set and some PAF style humbuckers that both sounded fantastic. The vintage tele pickups actually came with cloth covered wire! Their higher end XPG bodies and necks are quite good, but their budget stuff will require more finishing work on the nut and frets.
Man that came out great. I have tried many of their parts, but never a neck or their quick plug system. That's great to know they are good as well. Sounds awesome.
That is looking like a really sick build man
Now my kit juices are flowing.
Man those pickups sound amazing in that Tele. I need to build me one of those now. Thanks Darrell lol
Great build. It is an absolute beaut
Turned out great!
You may already know this but a good solution for the enlarged hole for the tuning machine issue is to put cut a toothpick or dowel close to or smaller than the size of the hole and just shorter than the depth of the hole, put a little dab of glue on the end of the toothpick (not enough for it to squeeze out of the top), let it dry. If needed drill the hole again. This gives you hopefully a fresh start to try again and drill another hole that way you be sure your screw goes in straight and do not risk the hole being stripped out. Great sounding tele and the quick headphone jack type plug blew my mind!
The other way to do it: put baking soda in the hole halfway and put a couple drops of liquid super glue into it. Then repeat the step to fill the hole completely. Then re-drill.
I can't believe those connect with an aux cable! That's crazy.
And *I* can't believe this hadn't been introduced much, much earlier!
Right? Looks like a great solderless idea. I wouldn't be surprised if someone came and said it changes the sound and say that solder is better
@@abcrx32j - Scroll all the way down and you'll find the comment of someone with bad experiences with solderless kits in terms of corrosion and who reckons solder is the way to go 😉
@Bogey I'd worry about the plugs becoming loose or coming out. Takes no time at all to just solder it in but some people just don' t like going it. I'd prefer to see a more robust kinda connection if you're wanting to go solderless
@Bogey That's a great idea, actually!
