I find Netflix is better because it actually gives me the option to watch things in English in South America unlike Amazon prime with forces you to watch things in Spanish just because your location is South America

Exactly. In Japan, the app is also only available in Japanese, unlike HULU and Netflix, which allows users to use their own/device language.
Amazon simply isn't an option for global, ex-pat use.

@Primal Convoy I am testing right now and it allows you both subtitles and different languages.
I can't tell if applies to all shows but they may have changed it.
Ironically people here usually Jack Sparrow stuff, so prime is a good option if you want dubbed content.
It also has a search function that was mission during the making of the video.

Netflix has a few show that I love, but other than that there's not as much choice as with Amazon Prime. If I could only afford one, I would pick Amazon Prime. As my favourites on Netflix go live once a year, I'm seriously thinking of only registering once a year for a few months to watch these shows and unregistering after that. I also love my Fire Stick.

I am from India and I’m an Amazon prime subscriber. I enjoy prime music on my commute to work And the video content during the weekend. Netflix where I live had the issue of never really having what I wanted to watch and their originals.. eh, not why I subscribed to it.
Worse yet, it had the habit of doing away with shows I was actually watching. Imagine opening the app one day and what you were about to watch suddenly is gone.
I'm front the rental age, so I don't pick what the app tries to shove me, I like to choose.
Not to mention Netflix is far more expensive than prime and prime offers all it's streaming video qualities at the same subscription (and actually tells you at which setting it is streaming).
I subscribed to Prime because they were offering a $60 game for the prime of one month's subscription and I'm thouroghly enjoying it.

Amazon's main problem is that it's not a truly global service. Firstly, you need to create a separate account for each country you use it in AND Amazon refuses to allow users to separate country/region from the GUI language. Videos are also available in two separate versions (dubbed and subbed).
Netflix, by comparison, allows users to use their account in any region (although the content for that region might change), the GUI language can be manually set by the user (and/or linked to the language set in the device in use) and all videos have different subs and dubs for them, negating the need to have two separate versions.
Netflix is thus the clear winner and the reason why I have avoided Amazon video and Disney+ in Japan (as both have similar problems) like the plague.

I wish Netflix did Rings of Power. It’s so disgusting that Amazon has even tried to play this race card in order to avoid the real issue of how they have ruined one of history’s best writers, because they wanted to make bubble gum entertainment just to make money.
They fired the Tolkien scholars when they wrote the script that’s all you need to know. Amazon…it’s shameful what you have done, and how you’re reacting to your mistake is even worse, shameful.
The skin color changes aren’t even close to what is upsetting the far majority of fans who are criticizing ROP. In fact, the biggest problem most people have is with how Amazon has butchered the character Galadriel, a blond, blue eyed white girl. Not only does she have a completely different personality from what Tolkien wrote, but she doesn’t even fit the criteria of what makes an elf an elf.
I’m starting to believe that these billionaire corporations truly don’t give a damn about diversity and gender equality. They care about one thing and that is MONEY.
Thus, this is just a marketing strategy so that if they spend a billion dollars on a project and it flops they can just say it’s because of racial/gender intolerance, and their show will be fine because anyone who disagrees will just be ignored and reduced into that ugly category. Think about it. It’s a genius marketing strategy. Wish you all the best 🙏

I don't know what you mean. I've been using Amazon music on my Amazon prime account for a long time. You have to pay extra for unlimited music access, but pretty much all the songs I want are available without paying extra.

Been using Netflix for at least 10 years but it's gotten so political in certain ways that it's time to move on. I won't get deep into all of that but you can just see it in the movies they create. I may try hulu or Amazon.

@@rasmus7493 Like I said, I really don't want to get real deep into a political conversation. That's not my intention here. Netflix simply is NOT something I personally want in my household any longer. I can tell you I don't want to pay a monthly fee to help support things like "Knock Down The House", "American Factory: A Conversation with the Obama's" "Cuties" & "The First Temptation of Christ."

Netflix quality is in decline over the years. With their movies and tv series infused with much political correctness, girl power/feminism, multiculturalism, etc., it’s not surprising that lots of subscribers are leaving. Likewise Netflix has focused now on volume rather than quality. They just wrap up things quickly and fed them to subscribers. They have so many crappy series for years now. Amazon prime on the other hand is cheeky as always. They charge little fee but then they find ways to charge you back as you have to rent some of the movies/series. And many of the free ones are crappy.

This may seem weird, but I like it when the whole family gathers to watch One Piece.
we've been watching one piece on Netflix, then it ended in like Season 11, So I was wondering if prime would have the rest of the Seasons. 12,13,14,15, etc.
Sadly I found out online that One piece additional episodes cost extra money than just prime subscription.
