    Which of the two streaming services do you prefer?

      HBO MAX and Discovery Plus.

      @@spaceghost4474 HBO MAX is up there for us as well. We've been testing out Apple+ for the past month or so and it's quickly rising for our interests.

    As of now, I don't find either service all that great.
    On Prime Video, they moved most of the shows that I watched to Freevee, and I hate to have to watch commercials on VOD services, even when they're free.
    Then they also started charging for a lot what they used to carry for free.
    Then there's Netflix.
    I like very little of their original content, and the VOD doesn't appeal to me either,, so they are just aren't worth the price TO ME.
    I'm currently subscribed to Prime Video, but I'm thinking about canceling it too.
    It's basically become a service that sells subscription services like Discovery Plus and other stand alone services, and I can get those on my Roku without having to pay for Prime Video.
    If it weren't for having The Boys and Reacher, I probably would have dropped it already.
    I find a lot more that I like on HBO MAX now.

      Those are all fair points. We're big HBO MAX fans ourselves, but slightly concerned that Zaslav's cost-cutting is going to damage content for the service. Time will tell, and creators will go elsewhere if need be, but it is a concern we have.

    I do have both venues. I have the Standard Netflix and Amazon Prime Shipping and video since I do buy allot of things. Prime videos I guess are so so (most I have seen before) and if you want to watch newer or very popular more watched movies we have to pay extra for them (I never have purchased these). Pricing right now is OK for me, but like everything else prices keep going up. If they get too high in pricing, I will discontinue them.
    Thanks for the video.

      Completely agreed on the content on Prime. It'll be interesting to see if their investments will pay off, which will very likely result in a price hike.

    Before I cut the cord I already had both. Now I’ve added discovery plus and that’s what I normally watch. And prime delivery seems to have gone from 2 days to 2-5 days so I m thinking drop prime membership. Also if Netflix goes to ads I’ll reevaluate that one then. BTW I bought the recast after watching your videos on it. That was prime and took 5 days to arrive but it sure makes antenna viewing so crystal clear and I LOVE that my local channels show up on firestick home page. I’m very impressed and a happy cord cutter. Haven’t missed cable at all.

      With my Prime shipping, most of my items come in 2 days. I am not in that big a hurry if they come a day or so later. Just glad to get the product. Depends on what you buy and where the item is shipped from. So i am happy with Prime Shipping

    • @FrugalRules

      Interesting re: the shipping aspect as we typically get our stuff in under two days. But, definitely get the desire to drop if you're not getting same experience. Awesome, glad to hear it!🙂

      @@TheBman3rd I think I was mistaken when I wrote that. I’ve had a standard plan for 15 years. I thought the ads would be on that plan and I’d have to go premium. If they adding a cheaper tier with ads I’m fine with that.

      Agreed on the movies, especially when it's not always easy to tell if something is free or if it requires payment. Nicole is a big Stranger Things fan and she loved season 4. 🙂

    I like Netflix for more original content than Prime, but Amazon secret sauce is sports especially with Thursday Night Football 🏈. Should be interesting to see if Amazon gets NFL Sunday Ticket from Direct TV 🏈

      We tend to prefer Netflix for content, but you're dead on about the NFL for Amazon. If they're able to get Sunday Ticket and their content investments pan out it would help them a ton.

    I am fortunate to get both of these for free.......so as far as price goes I can't score that.........but as far as user experience I'd rather go Netflix because that Prime Video interface just flat out sucks and it is NOT very user friendly....I have to really search for things I want to watch, unlike Netflix........the content is equal on both but I'll choose Netflix overall as the BETTER streaming service

      IMO, it could be A LOT better.

    • @FrugalRules
      @FrugalRules 2 года назад +2

      That's awesome! That's definitely a fair point re: UI on Prime. We find it to be too busy, it can be difficult to find things, and not always clear if something is free or has a cost. If they're able to get Sunday Ticket we believe they'll really need an upgrade here. Really, it should be improved regardless.

    I will subscribe to Netflix once or twice a year and binge whatever I'm interested in like Bridgerton or The Crown then turn it off. Frankly since I am an Amazon Prime Member I don't really see a reason to keep Netflix subscribed for the entire year.

    • @FrugalRules
      @FrugalRules 2 года назад

      That's an excellent way to do it! If Amazon's investment in original content pays off, keeping both may become that much less of a need.

    I have to say with all the ads on every single thing that is looked at on the internet, I am shocked that people still decide to throw ads at the start of their videos and even more so in the middle of their streams. For this I have to give you a Thumbs down. Sorry. Let me know if this changes and I will change that thumbs down to a thumbs up.
