In the heart of England, where rain is a friend? Lives a lass with a lens, with a message to send. In the Forest of Dean, with its canvas so clean, She captures the visions, not all will ever see. In every frame she seeks more than a name, Looks beyond the seen, to the soul of the game. This isn't just art, but a journey to start, Into the depths of nature, and into our hearts.
Really nice and pleasant video. I totally agree about your vision of going out in woods with no expectations. about the stacked vs. unstaked photo, I personally prefer the stacked one. Ciao
I love all your photographs, especially your waterfall photos, my other favorites are the wild garlic flowers and the Bluebells. My photography started at age 5 when my father handed me his Kodak brownie, of course he would load the film in it and he only had to show me one-time how to operate it, and off I went. We have home movies of me taking photos of family and the world around me. I bought my first Nikon digital camera about 2 years ago, I was old school and love shooting film. Now it's 66 I've come to really appreciate digital photography, so much cheaper then film, but I still have all my Nikon film cameras because every now and then I still like to burn up few rolls of print film. My first digital camera was the Nikon D500 and my Ultimate goal was the D850 which I got a few months ago. I'm sticking with these cameras, and I don't see any point in going mirrorless. Back to your photography, I enjoy your thought process and how you achieve such beautiful photographs, and even at 66 I'm still learning, from people like Matt Granger, Tony and Chelsea Northrop and Kai Wong. So keep taking beautiful photographs and most importantly... Keep dancing.
Hello, happened to come across the video with the Nikon D850. I like the video very much and the location seems to be great for taking pictures. Great moderation on the motifs and great explanations. Unfortunately, my English is not good, but I understood a little. However, I would like to answer you via google. I have the Nikon D 7500 and the D 850. It's a great camera! Have one more subscription. Greetings Albert
I liked the stacked cascade shot & I also loved the Mushroom & beetle shot! I always go out with no expectations as you never know what you're going to capture. You always manage to entertain with your antics :)
Another great video. I think the child like approach to looking at the world is brilliant as it was a time when our creative was often far more fostered and encouraged. So being able to tap into that could only be beneficial I think.
When you came back after your MPB segment, I laughed out loud seeing you flat on your back after the trek up the hill. 😄I loved both versions of the yellow leaf on the green leaves. If I had to choose, I suppose I would favor the square crop. Great video, as always
Courtney, you eye for composition is spot on. When you said you were going to show the unstacked photo with the cascade out of focus I thought interesting but I’m not going to like it. But when I liked the unstacked one as much or even more than the final one. I looked closely to see why. It was the flow flow of the composition with the out of focus cascade as a back drop. Well done! Good advice to go with the flow rather than tunnel vision on a particular shot too!
I enjoy rainy, woodland photography with a good number of creative opportunities. My favorite rainy place to photograph here in the States is The Great Smoky Mountain. The elements of wet woodlands Is so rich and inspiring. Very nice work with an impromptu approach thank you.
Another entertaining video Courtney . The Forest Ecco shoot was my favorite, a stunning shot . The gate didn't stop you and I am glad you found your car.
Thanks for taking the time to share more than one version of a shot, stacked vs unstacked, square crop vs 16:9, different foreground or framing elements. It's a great way to learn and be inspired.
Thanks Courtney for sharing your experience with great results... interesting location & very green .....you certainly find great compositions for sharing.. cheers from Australia 🦘🦘❤😊
Another great video, Courtney. I like both the stacked and unstacked versions of "Company", but each one creates a different feeling, just like the waterfall framed by fallen branches. As you remind us, it's always worth experimenting with different compositions and ideas.
Ive been watching your videos for about a year now and it is so cool to see your progression in vlogging, especially in your video composition. The shot with the purple flowers tack sharp with you blurred walking in the background was absolutely awesome. Love your videos Courtney. Keep up the good work.
Snap! I photograph wildlife exclusively: but I subscribe to Courtney Victoria and Derek Forss because they are both inspiring landscape photographers (Derek is also a brilliant architectural photographer).
I never take video, but can only imagine the added work involved, especially knowing as you walk down a trail...you eventually have to turn around, come all the way back, then return from where you came, adding many steps (do you ever count your steps while out photographing?), not to mention the editing of the video segments together! Always remember, those of us that are subscribed, truly appreciate the time, effort and expense of what you thankfully allow us the privilege to watch Courtney!
Another awesome video! Why was I not surprised to see that your car is that very cool Mini Cooper that perfectly matches your coolness! Your cascade images were great! As always…very entertaining! Thanks for taking me along!
nice capture with solitary, simple and so effective. And as you say go for what your looking for and you will walk by everything you could take. wise words. catch you next vid.
Your so right about how having a specific image in your mind can blind you to the opportunities around you. Keep shooting and stay inspired. :-) I bet if you converted that last shot to black and white and utilized a yellow filter effect it would reallllly pop! :-)
I'm very impressed by your ability to work your camera controls whilst it hangs upside down! Love the images and of course, still enjoying the giggles I get from your antics. :-)
The last shot was nice. Maybe if the leaves were less damaged it would have been even better. You are definitely a talented photographer and video creator.😊
When I started my photography in 2015(well, I started in 1984, but that is another story), I had a Nikon D5300. Then I dropped it and destroyed it and the lens. I went to Canon because of the cheaper price at the time. After watching you, I may go back to Nikon and stay there! Great videos! Keep up the great work and keep DANCING!
Great work as always Courtney, and a pleasure watching as usual. Don't you just love it when a gate won't open wide enough when you have a cumbersome camera bag on your back, never suffered post hill climb trauma yet but it looks painful. Hope recovery was swift and with no ill effects.
Great advice. I always have more fun when I don’t have preconceived ideas about what I’m going to shoot. When I plan to get a “hero shot” of a location I’ve seen online, I’m usually disappointed & dissatisfied with my work.
Great video. I think I preferred the unstacked version. The waterfall through the trees was wonderful. Like you I got rid of my zv1 and got a z30 with the 16-50 lens
Another interesting video Courtney. Loved the image's of the waterfall, both version's. I must admit i liked photographing mushrooms sometimes it makes you slow down a lot.
I live in the southeastern US, which - similar to your video - is loaded with greenery. Unfortunately, that also means snakes... lots of snakes. So I don't explore quite as much as I'd prefer. So, for me, summer presents some of the most challenging conditions to find pleasing compositions (especially when combined w/ my colorblindness). Thanks for the compositional ideas.
Great video Courtney, you never fail to impress. I do prefer the unstacked photo of the waterfall, but both are still amazing. Curious, how far do you travel to find these gems? I really love the Solitary photo as well... and I think I like the 16x9 version with the yellow leaf pushed to the right... but again... they are both great shots.
Well miss Victriria... i am going to have to be totally honest with you as a learning thing, The leaf shot was a great find but i was really put off with the damaged leaves, the Mushroom photo again a great find but the light trip through the image is distracting as is the very bright green leaf.. Please dont take this as bad from me, i am only being honest and 99.9% of people would not tell you or even see it.. Top video again thanks
I always appreciate your videos. You do amazing work and make it seem like a regular photographer might be able to approach similar results by describing your techniques. BTW, did you retire your D750?
Thanks. Courtney, really enjoy your perspectives on photography . Of those last two images? For me the square crop added to the simplification and effectiveness of the scene, keep up the great work👍
I think the yellow leaf on the green leaves looks best at 16:9. In square putting the yellow leaf into the middle might have looked better than using the rule of thirds. The stacked waterfalls look really good.
I did think about putting the leaf in the middle on the square shot... after I'd gotten home mind you ha! It was a little too late by then ha. (A slow realisation on my part!) I do agree though, it probably would have worked better. Thanks!
As a fellow RUclipsr, I appreciate all of the work you put into your videos! I really enjoy seeing what the landscape is like on your side of the world as well. Have you considered doing a black and white focused episode? Keep up the great work!
Yep loved the yellow leaf shot (solitary). I think I find your videos both inspiring and frustrating in equal measure. Inspiring because your compositions have such vision, and frustratiing because your compositions have such vision.....and mine don't!
I purchased a vanguard tripod ...... I do something similar Photography as you do. So I really need a new back or new tripod.... Tripod was the most doable
Hi Courtney, I just found your channel! I love your approach and quirkiness! Thanks for sharing your knowledge! How do you like the Nikon 24-120 f/4 on your Nikon D850? I have been thinking about getting that lens. PS I subscribed!
Lovely images and videography Ms. Courtney! I'm always inspired by your technique(s). You mentioned it being hot and humid, two bains to my photography existence! I don't play well with my camera when the humidity is so thick that you can lick it! Nonetheless, I sometimes dress scantily and sneak off into the woodlot behind my house looking for something to shoot. I've been meaning to ask about the two tattoos I see on your left and right wrists, do you mind sharing their meaning? I''ve kept my tattoo obsession under control for the past several years, but I feel an urge to schedule a session with my artist soon! 💜😎💜
Great video once again! Do you purposely go out when it's raining or does it just always rain there? 😁 And if I had to guess what car you drive by your personality I'd have guessed a Mini. 😁 Keep up the great work, and thank you for sharing your photography insights.
Hi I like tthe 16:9 crop the best for yellow leaf amongst the green leaves. Would be great to use as PC Wallpaper background or pic to frame and mount. 📷
Love your videos.. Please keep up the good work.. I have learned a lot from you.. I am also looking for a tripod like yours. Could you please send the make and model of the one in your video... Thanks. Gene
Very nice images. I personally preferred the wider crop on the final image, but I'd also like to see in in a standard 3:2. (And too hot for dancing, I presume?)
Rather than using Macro lenses, have you ever worked with extension tubes? They are a great way to turn any lens into a macro lens (and get the versatility of different focal lengths) for cheap (around $50-100). You might want to check into them. Fotodiox make a wide variety for most camera brands.
Stacked vs unstacked?! I think I'm an unstacked fan here!

There is a lot landscape youtubers around but is always nice to find new channels like this
I love your editing and B rolls. Very good insights all around.
Your videos are fantastic, I really love you sense of humour and style , love your photos 📸 keep producing them please.
Really nice and pleasant video. I totally agree about your vision of going out in woods with no expectations. about the stacked vs. unstaked photo, I personally prefer the stacked one. Ciao

Great vlog as always, that mushroom with the bug on 🥰amazing what you can capture in macro.
LOVE the mushroom shot. I really enjoy the more intimate shots of the forest. TFS
When you came back after your MPB segment, I laughed out loud seeing you flat on your back after the trek up the hill. 😄I loved both versions of the yellow leaf on the green leaves. If I had to choose, I suppose I would favor the square crop. Great video, as always
Haha! I'll try avoid steep hills in humid conditions again, it knackered me out ha!
Courtney, you eye for composition is spot on. When you said you were going to show the unstacked photo with the cascade out of focus I thought interesting but I’m not going to like it. I enjoyed the dual branch photograph framing the waterfall

Yellow leaf on green was best of the day, I’d say😊
Ive been watching your videos for about a year now and it is so cool to see your progression in vlogging, especially in your video composition. The shot with the purple flowers tack sharp with you blurred walking in the background was absolutely awesome. Love your videos Courtney. Keep up the good work.
Love your videos I’ve learned a lot even though I don’t do landscape photography. But now I get inspired whenever I’m out and about on travels.

This is great to hear! :)

For macro you can tilt the ball head to the side and attach the l bracket to the side. Then the camera is not overhead and easier to use.
The close-up of that waterfall framed was fantastic!
I'm glad you like it! Thanks!
Another lovely video. Loved the square crop of Solitary 👏
What a lovely Forrest Courtney nice pics 📸
Loved the shot Solitary. I do love square shots.
That shroom shot is exquisite. A miniature world all of itself😊🍄🍄🐝
Spectacular capture’s!
Your so right about how having a specific image in your mind can blind you to the opportunities around you. Keep shooting and stay inspired. :-)
I bet if you converted that last shot to black and white and utilized a yellow filter effect it would reallllly pop! :-)

Dancing would have helped you find the car. 💃 just saying. 🤣
Ah! I'll try that next time ha!
love the B role commitment !!! , Thank you for the wonderful content . 😁
❤Love footage ! Keeping up 🎉👍🏻
For an unexpected shoot you really made it fantastic! Great video with wonderful examples Courtney 😍
What was really nice about the macro shot of the mushroom, was the little Weevil that was on it too!
love your work keep the video's come your give some new ideas thank you

i love photography So Much and i think your vidéo its great
thank you victoria
I did like the shots of the cascade through the branches Courtney. Well spotted.
The Forest Ecosystem is a wonderful shot.
Great shots again and inspiration. Know the feeling about being lost in the woods I have to use my OS App on the phone or I would never get home.
Britain is really green. 😊
Just leaving a comment because comments tell the algorithm that this a good video and to show it to others.
A most enjoyable video, Courtney. Some nice images and I always like your comments about them. Thank you.

Goodeness, I love watching your videos. So off the wall but very informative making you think, I have gotten lazy with old age, BSDit!
Great video. I think I preferred the unstacked version. The waterfall through the trees was wonderful. Like you I got rid of my zv1 and got a z30 with the 16-50 lens
Great Video,Great Photographer.Greetings from Germany
Díky!
Thank you! This is very kind of you 😊
Another interesting video Courtney.
Loved the image's of the waterfall, both version's.
I must admit i liked photographing mushrooms sometimes it makes you slow down a lot.
Thank you!
From an artistic point of view I prefer the stacked versions. But it’s all personal. Love your video’s 👌🏻👍🏻

Great video. Thank you

I really love the Solitary photo as well... and I think I like the 16x9 version with the yellow leaf pushed to the right... but again... they are both great shots.

Courtney, my wife and I really enjoy your channel. We will be selling/buying from MPB as well. Thanks for your entertaining and informative videos.

I do miss my d850 , a great little location there
You are amazing!
I liked the unstacked image better and as a Hasselblad V series shooter I like the square for the last image.
Great video
Great video!

A great idea, I should definitely try it! Thank you, the filming process can be time consuming but if we didn't love it we wouldn't do it!
Yep loved the yellow leaf shot (solitary). I think I find your videos both inspiring and frustrating in equal measure. Inspiring because your compositions have such vision, and frustratiing because your compositions have such vision.....and mine don't!
Nice film Courtney.

Love your videos. What tripod are you using? I didn’t see it in the gear list.
Hi Courtney, I just found your channel! I love your approach and quirkiness! Thanks for sharing your knowledge! How do you like the Nikon 24-120 f/4 on your Nikon D850? I have been thinking about getting that lens. PS I subscribed!
It's not a Courtney Victoria video without random dancing inside a forest!
Lovely images and videography Ms. Courtney! I'm always inspired by your technique(s). You mentioned it being hot and humid, two bains to my photography existence! 16 x 9 for me as it emphasizes the solitary more
Great video once again! Do you purposely go out when it's raining or does it just always rain there? 😁 And if I had to guess what car you drive by your personality I'd have guessed a Mini. 😁 Keep up the great work, and thank you for sharing your photography insights.
I love how you name all your photos. Do the names just come to you or do you have to think on them?
Absolutely crackers, mad as a box of boingy things. Love it.
On that last image, square crop dose for me. What was you running from or too, didn't lose your car again.
Hi I like tthe 16:9 crop the best for yellow leaf amongst the green leaves. Would be great to use as PC Wallpaper background or pic to frame and mount. 📷
I do love your mussiness :)
Love your videos.. Please keep up the good work.. I have learned a lot from you.. I am also looking for a tripod like yours. Could you please send the make and model of the one in your video... Thanks. Gene
I think I prefer the 16:9. It just seems better "balanced."
What's happened to d750? Any different in quality between d850 and d750, not talking about resolution 😅
Very nice images. I personally preferred the wider crop on the final image, but I'd also like to see in in a standard 3:2. (And too hot for dancing, I presume?)

I prefer the Square format with the yellow thing (dont know what it called)
Hi do you find the d850 much better than the d750 you had previously thanks
Good work as usual. Question, what's the meaning behind the tattoo on your right wrist? If it's to personal I understand. Just curious.
