- In Early 2018, Apple partially finished construction on their new massive office building, called Apple Campus 2, Also known as Apple Park & the Spaceship.
The Apple Park is the corporate headquarters of Apple Inc., located at One Apple Park Way in Cupertino, California, United States.
The land cost an estimated $160 million dollars In 2011, the original planned budget for Apple Campus, was about $3 billion dollars, however in 2013 the total cost was estimated to be closer to $5 billion dollars.
The company’s new 175-acre campus, is one mile in circumference, with a diameter of 461 meters , and can house 12,000 employees.
The main building was ready for employees to begin partial occupancy in January 2018, as the building was still not finished, the process of moving more than 12,000 people, was estimated to take over six months.
Special thanks for Oxysasha for all his help in supplying the footage.

*1) From **5:55** to **6:15** these are not Apple Park offices* - That's correct they are not, I was showing examples of other open plan offices.

How did she get authorized to film Apple campus with the drone? some places are forbidden to be filmed by drones and can often be taken away by the police as a result so how did sasha get these drone views?
Actually Samsung has more money
@@inunixia It was not authorized. They authorized a single film crew to document the entire construction process. The leading drone guy who got most of the footage (different channel) flew in on Sunday afternoons when work was ceased.
I'M SO HAPPY YOU DO A FAQ AND INTERACT WITH VIEWERS
@Andrew Stokie Which offices, the AC2 offices? No, those are on a separate campus in Cupertino
and everything started in a garage...
unbelievable
Haris Curic Yes just two people in a garage. You know most company started with on person. Henri Ford, André Citroen, Louis Renault, Walt Disney etc.
Aquarius yea and apple became the richest company first ever trillion company and in a rly fast time i dunno exactly but i presume in 25/30 yrs thats unbelievable
I’ve been using IPad Air for nearly 10 years. It sometimes goes black screen. Other than that, everything is OK. Incredible !
And it started as a hobby.
TYler_ SChecter yeah steve wozniak hobby of creating weird things has led into this
So its confirmed that apple indeed uses windows
@Chillout Launge it's a joke, because the building has so many windows
Chillout Launge Window like window 10 . Is it clear now ?
@Chillout Launge Hey Chillout, Chill out Bro, it's a joke, He was talking about the real windows, not Microsoft.
Yes

12,000 employees! Imagine all the birthday cakes you'd have to eat!
lol I hated those days at work when someone would come up to me and say "it's his birthday today, do you want to give some money towards a gift or cake" imagine it their, someone would be coming up to you asking 32 times a day.
Wonder World haha brilliant. I love your videos by the way mate! Super sleek and informative.
Thanks Jonny
m living in South Africa and the company m working at has 16 000 thousand employees. it's a gold mine. #Sibanyemine
Hahah really now?
Imagine that in some global catastrophe this building turned out to be an actual spaceship and takes off?
Wouldn't surprise me.
It probably contains the remains of Steve Jobs, expressly for this purpose.
He may still be alive in there.
With Steve Jobs' whole brain emulation AI controlling it "I am your father, now and always"
His head is in a jar concealed in a fake planter behind the main lobby.
So Apple uses “glass wall” instead of WINDOWS
also uses “open plan layout” instead of OFFICE
Lol
Dude that is a glass window lol, why would you call such large area made out of glass a window
I think those words are taboo to Apple employees.
Steve jobs was very very proud of this Office. I was watching in 2011 his speech and besides pure health, you could see his love, dedication and work for the project. I'm truly heartbroken to see the building without Steve, damn he would be happy to see this. Rest in peace!
Well he copied off of Google, soooo.....
Carie Saad damn, how did apple copy google’s headquarters, by making it by rounded glass ? Get lost dude...

This building is phenomenal.
Pictures and video don't convey the real sense of scale. If you hike nearby hills and look at it, it is far and away the largest artificial feature in the area. Same if you're flying over it into San Jose. It is much larger than a football stadium (also new, and nearby).
@@aluisious If anyone is interested in actual photos, I was on that project from start to finish
Special thank you to Oxysasha RUclips Channel, for supplying me with all the footage I required for this video, even though Apple Security is clamping down on Drone pilots filming the building. Sasha was asked to leave twice and still got the footage I required, thanks mate, appreciate it.
Thank you for this awesome video.
Can you go inside the building (not the drone, you)without being a employee?
No you can't.
Dana W thx
Wonder World it’s inside class C airspace. Drone pilots are violating FAA regulations to get the footage. Your drone guy will likely get a fine for flying commercially without a permit too.
Imagine you go in there and scream "hey Siri".
People are walking into glass walls because they are staring down at their iPhones while walking.
yeah I know, i nearly ran over a kid who stepped onto the road while looking at her phone, as I was passing her by, I had to slam on the break to avoid running her over.
Evolution is being cheated. I was driving to work at Berkeley once, and this girl was lazily crossing the road, and stopped in front of my car...just standing there...to text, or whatever the hell she thought was more important than remaining alive (best and brightest at Berkeley). I honked at her, and she looked up and said "WTF?" at me. Yes, WTF, I am driving my car down the road you are STANDING IN WHILE TEXTING.
kind of same thing happen to me, I am driving down a side road which connect to a 3 lane main road, and this girl standing on the mediun between roads, stepped off just as i was about to pass her, i had to slam on the breaks to miss her, she was looking at her phone the whole time, I honked and she gave me that WTF look also. fucken stupid people, stop looking at your phones.
It's not just iPhones only......it's mobile phones and tablets generally. In shopping centres, you will get to see more......! Hahahaha.....
It happens with startling frequency.
weird that blank black screen blink at 2:55 is not in my edit, I don't know why it's in the video.
Didn’t notice it at first!

steve Wozniak was the innovator and Steve Jobs was a salesman
He already saw it on the 3d plan 🤣
No he wasn’t. He did build the computers, but Steve Jobs was the innovator because he knew how to encourage, market, evaluate, design and present it to customers who were so used to clunky machines the size of a room. He knew how to make it friendly and beautiful to look at.
Thank you Oxysasha, we love you

He copied it off of Google's buildings & offices. Google's looks waaaay better.
Carie Saad what’s so interesting about google
Apple is going to be trash without Steve Jobs
They did do something amazing. They found a way to charge triple the price of a windows based computer with the same specs. And people actually buy.
Natural ventilation instead of Air Condition 70% time !! I would love it. High time other offices too, particularly in Bangalore, start exploring it. Continuous AC is pissing me off, impacts my productivity.
Amazing Beautiful building !!
from a garage to a mega Shapeship....thts brilliant wow..just awesome...well done Apple.
One of the negative affects is that it forced a lot of individuals that were living in the surrounding area is to have to move completely out of the area due to a dramatic increase in home values also forcing rental rates to skyrocket.
The people already living there made of well by selling. But new people coming in will have to be much richer to afford to live there
Gentrification of the area. Sad for people who didn’t want to move away. Homes are so over priced there already!
Open plan offices don't work well for programmers. It's not really a cooperative endeavor and needs concentration, not distraction.
Amazing!!
Thank you.
FANTASTIC
I'm fine with open concept but it would really suck at that employee density. You shouldn't need noise-cancelling headphones just to focus
Colin Wiens but it would be a good reason to get some BOSE headphones for work at Apple Park,
I've worked in open concept offices at Microsoft. The noise canceling headphones don''t really help. They end up filtering out ambient sound, but make other peoples conversations even more clear and distracting. I think saying that workers in an open concept environment only lose 20% productivity is probably an understatement.
14 meters of personal space each? Are you including space allocated to hallways, common areas, storage space, utility space, etc. when you calculate personal space at 14 meters per person? I'm not trying to be snarky - just wondering how much actual personal work space an average employee there will get.
I’ve noted for so many years the failure of architects to take the human experience into consideration in their designs. Think walls, poorly placed air conditioner vents, sealed buildings that cause the increase of toxins in the air...and most importantly the reliance on a straight edge and 90 degree right angles in their designs. One short architect drew all electrical, water and gas lines in the same area suggesting that a leak in the dentists anesthesia lines would filter through all of the offices. And another added draining holes in the short walls surrounding the flat roof of the bank building that were 12 inches above the roof line creating a swimming pool when it rained and the water poured down the AC vents. The owner of the building didn’t like it when I pointed that out to him. Oh, well. I digress.
I guess the point is that just because an architect designs something or that it wins awards doesn’t mean it is a good design. I would really hate to have to try writing a complex set of code in an office like that. Too many distractions. Probably good for diversity and pr, however.

Open offices makes productive workers unproductive. Here is the reason why this change is happening. Management spends a lot of their day in meetings and communicating with people. They logically assume that working in a large room with other people that their employees with also be productive in that setting. Yet management will have a single office to themselves and can close the door. My suggestion is having management in a large room and let the employees have a quiet space to do their creative work without random interruptions.
They could have built a giant brick but instead they somehow incorporated a lot of nature, that's awesome.
Whoa looks amazing 😍
Amazing !
An "iCup" of coffee in this building will cost US$ 49.99.
coffee is probably free, but the donuts or muffins cost $100 each
Apple meals are $4-$7. They actually undercharge for food on campus. The philosophy is that people eat more or take more than needed when the food is free and consequently, they make more waste.
The coffee IS free and muffins cost $0.50. And there are no donuts.
There are no donuts in a donut-building? They should correct that mistake. That's like building a huge pizza slice shaped building with no pizza.
