      A cool video suggestion is what do you get with the Mitchell DIY.
      Code discription?
      Code set condition?
      Component location?
      The extent of the wiring diagram.

    Most of those GM fuse boxes just have somewhere around a 20 gauge solid bare copper wire as traces to each of the terminals inside. Most of the time one of those copper wires just have a hairline crack in them causing issues like this. It hardly takes any flex at all to gain or lose contact. I take these apart and fix them sometimes to save the customer some money or if availability on a new one is sketchy. I usually recommend a new one but some people really can’t afford it and I’ll try my best to help get them going again.

    Great video. I deal with stuff like this all the time on the 2 delivery fleets I service. Funny thing is, I’d probably fix the pins or wire in a bypass temporarily till the new part comes in, and in the mean time the fleet manager would probably cancel the part because it’s working and he figures he can same some money. I have a lot of temp fixes like this that I come back a few months or a year later and find still there. Kind of funny, but I guess that’s how they save money.

    Thank you Paul and Caleb. Great job. I'd be curious if the 2.5 VDC was actually bias voltage. Unplugging relay and testing the voltage on the fuses would explain it was a bias voltage if you still read 2.5 VDC. By wiggling the relay side to side, hearing the relay clicking, seems the poor terminal fitment was on the coil side of the relay, 85 or 86. Have a blessed and safe week to you and your family.

    I had a 2010 Chevy impala with 190 + miles on it and the automatic transmission went out and Rameys car dealership in Princeton West Virginia put me a used transmission in with no warranty and before the 197 + it went out again and had it towed to Coles cheverlot and the mechanic teat drove it and couldn't find any thing wrong with it. On the way home 1.2 miles it went to having problems, pulled over to the side of the ride and turned engine off and let it sit and had to have it towed back to Cole's with transmission failure. They refused to be responsible and refused to pay the tow and had to take to a Jasper installer in Bluewell West Virginia and traded the old transmission for a Jasper transmission that cost over $4000.00 labor and all. The mechanic at Miller's in Bluewell West Virginia (Dean Miller) installed Jasper transmission and started car and backed it out of the garage and transmission was making a racket. Mr Miller checked out the module and said the wire came undone from soder and fixed the problem. A year plus went by received in mail a recall about the Chevy impala wire can I recommend my money back from GM. Very caring citizen concern Anthony Price. What must I do to get my money back on the recall. Thank you. GOD BLESS

    Had this exact issue with a Chevy Blazer SS. It would start and run until the IPDM got hot. Then that same circuit you're testing would drop to 2.5 volts. And the engine would shut off and you had a no crank condition. The same happens to Chrysler, Ford and Nissan products.

    You are recommending the same thing I would, with the wiper issue and those relays basically non serviceable, time for a new fuse block. At least it doesn't need programming. Isn't it crazy to think that some fuse blocks need programming. Something funny too is Saturn Ions have an integrated BCM/interior fuse block as one unit. Talk about begging for stuff to go wrong, LOL.

      Let's move this to my forum www.scannerdanner.com
      It is free to join and we can definitely help you. I have 28k global members and hand picked moderators who've been with me for years and know my material inside and out and are there to help me help you guys. It is just too difficult to offer back and forth messages here on RUclips with stuff like this and we also can't share pictures and images here like we can on the website. Hope to see you there!

    I would just put some Thin copper strands of wire around the terminals of the relay and plug it in

    • @Discretesignals
      @Discretesignals 4 года назад

      I wouldn't do that on a customer's car. What's to say it doesn't come back for some other fuse block related issue. If it's your own vehicle, have at it.

    Curious if it was pin fitment on the relay pins or a bad solder joint on the relay socket on the PCB.

      adding a stereo won't affect this as long as it isn't a high powered head unit. If it is, you will want to run your own power supply directly to the battery anyway.

      Different problem if you're having a fuse blow. You have a short to ground on that circuit. Find out what is all on that fuse and start doing some visual inspections.
      You'll find the proper diagram here (listed under "power distribution")

    Scanner dinner, the troubles with my 2004 cayenne s just got worse. I left the moonroof open during big rsindtorm. When I tried to start it the next day, it started but with tons of lights . Troubleshooting has led me to the passenger side fuse panel on dash. Half of it has no power. What would cause half the panel to have no power? Aren't fuse panels powered by one main line?

    • @ScannerDanner
      @ScannerDanner  4 года назад

      sounds like you have a module on the CAN network that crashed the network. I would focus on the modules on the floor area. You can have a BCM or another module that powers up a main relay that would then power those fuses that are dead

    • @ScannerDanner
      @ScannerDanner  4 года назад

      In fact, the starting point for you would be to find out what powers those fuses, then back track your problem from there. It will lead you to the problem for everything in my opinion.

    • @bigguy8586

      @@ScannerDanner thanks for replying. That's what I'm thinking is that there is a relay that must be powered via module that Powers up the fuse panel. So if I check schematic and find that relay, I could pull it and switch it to check for relay itself if no function check module power and ground, continuity of the line in between module and relay. If that shows good then look at why module not controlling relay. How would I do that without a spare module?

    Sir, your videos are very very informative and useful for me. Thanks a lot.
    Meanwhile, my car Hyundai i20 1.2 has SDVC function in the Audio head unit. It controls the volume of the audio playback bead on the car speed.
    Now, how do I locate this particular wire going to the head unit and read it's signal?? I'm really interested to trace out this wire where it's coming from and going into!!!
    Please make video relavant to this SDVC wire of any car. Thanks in advance.

    • @ScannerDanner
      @ScannerDanner  4 года назад +1

      There is no specific signal wire. Your radio is a module on a communication network that shares all kind of information, one being the speed the car is being driven for the speed sensitive volume adjustment. You should be able to simply turn that mode off within your radio

    • @tnamen1307

      You know you're talking to me right? All of the shorts I am doing are allowing me to reach a wider audience. They are all pulled from full length case studies that are 99% available right here on RUclips. The link for the full case study is actually scrolling across the screen in the short! These are simply highlight moments. I'm also still averaging 2 full length case studies (where I show the whole thing) a month, right here on RUclips. But there are gems in here from my older stuff. With 890 videos, you are certain to find them. And if you are truly trying to learn this part of the field, sign up for my classes on SD Premium www.scannerdanner.com/join-scannerdanner-premium.html . We have over 550 videos and counting for $11 a month. The website allows us to not be slaves to advertisers and the RUclips algorithm. I also allows me to employ my son full time, and currently about 8 different technicians who are on the front-lines of our field who are providing us content and my son does the edits. These videos are on things that are outside of my scope of expertise. We have diesel system and heavy truck, EEPROM work, programming, EURO specific etc etc that goes above and beyond the training I offer. We are also implementing a learning management system that will track progress, provide quizzes and certifications.
      It is very possible that you do not care about any of this, but other who read your comment, and my reply will. We are doing some great things on my website that take up a lot of time. So yes, we have scaled back the amount of videos we produce here because I still have a family that needs me.
