REVISITING YOUSICIAN IN 2019

  • Yousician claims to be the world’s largest music educator. And if you’ve ever tried to learn guitar online, it’s likely that you’ve seen a couple of Yousician ads. “I ALWAYS WANTED TO LEARN GUITAR”. But, recently Yousician has been declining in popularity with a number of users turning to Rocksmith, Guitar tricks, Justin Guitar, and other online learning resources.
When I first started learning guitar, I used Yousician for a couple days, although I signed up for the year long membership because I’m ambitious, but also dumb. However, I do remember my time with the app fondly. So I decided to revisit Yousician in 2019 to review where the app is now.
It’s evident that the removal of “custom songs” in Yousician is a key contributor in people’s loss of interest in the guitar learning app. Left behind is a limited selection of traditional songs, along with covers of popular songs that include all instruments which Yousician offers courses for. Some songs actually don’t include all the instruments, but the still offer lessons for them on all instruments. Like “When we were young” by Adele is an option for guitar..
Other songs included on Yousician at this point in time include: Coldplay, maroon 5, and imagine dragons.
In this video I compare yousician both as a guitar learning tool and as a game to similar apps including: rocksmith, guitar tricks, and justin guitar. It’s definitely a strong competitor for beginner artists, but lacks tool for more experienced players. I’d say it’s a solid option for anyone from a beginner to intermediate guitar player.
I also discuss the history of yousician. I recommend looking up “Wild Chords”. It’s wild. This is the end of my essay. Thanks for watching “revisiting yousician in 2019”. I hope you learned something.
Lastly, I forgot to talk about yousician voice, yousician’s new voice training feature. To quickly summarize, it’s okay. It’s reminiscent of guitar hero world tour or rockband. But I didn’t use the app for long enough to conclude whether yousician is good for progress for singing. It is good for guitar progress though. The best? No. But it’s good.
Okay, thanks for watching :) I doubt you read this, but if you did, i love you. If you didn’t but skipped to the last sentence, i love you too. Less though.

Then yousician is a good start. I use it for 4 months already - have decent progress for someone, who didn't know even basic cowboy chords half a year ago.
Just don't forget to try playing something aside of yousician - google some favorite songs tutorials and chords and learn them by yourself, because there's a definite difference between the feel of playing something by following an app and by learning something yourself :)
And be sure to consult some of your friends who have a proper musical education once in a while. Even short lessons taken from them help a lot both with technique (proper grip, posture, rythm feel, etc.) and with the theory.

I couldn’t care less i’ll spend my 10 minutes per day and learn the rest on marty music’s channel, i’ve already learned alot from yousician just from the 10 minutes per day

~30 min a day in yousician is free, even if you dont start trial. So im playing it almost month, 30 min in yousician, 30-60 min just practicing by myself or in youtube.

      @theinternetexploreruser4276 5 лет назад +1

@@biggSHNDO I believe that short time also includes your training time, so you can waste your time training and then you wait for next day to continue on the same song, hoping you still remember anything from yesterday.
I tried it for fun a year ago and i wanted to climb the levels fast cause I already knew some things about guitar. But then I'm stuck cause I have limited use time each day, and I had to play songs I didn't like and never heard before, on the right timing, on the fly! And without looking at your guitar (cause you're looking at the screen to know what and when to play).
So if you're willing to put time into those songs, it might be worth it for you! As begginer you use whatever makes you feel motivated to grab your guitar every day!

Part of me wishes that I knew about all of this stuff back when I first started learning how to play. Like... on the one hand, learning songs by ear and random RUclips lessons probably gave me a slightly better ear than most beginners. But on the other hand... I'm not really good at sticking to a practice schedule or practicing technique! Perhaps I'll give the Yousician Trial a shot just to supplement my practice?
Either way, great video as always! Seems like you're really getting the hang of this!

Hey, I just wanna say your videos are to me exactly like a lot of the extremely polished and funny videos RUclipsrs that have millions of subscribers put out. I honestly though that when I started watching you that you had like 300,000 subscribers. When I found out your channel was in its early stages I was like "No way! The videos are so good!" I want to let you know your videos don't feel amateur in the slightest. It feels like I'm watching a creator with 500,000 to 1,000,000 subscribers. You're hilarious and I love the way you use your editing to drive your humour and augment the video. I really want to say ignore all of the people saying negative things about your channel and continue on your journey progressing and advancing your channel. I really want to see you hit it big because that's what I saw in your videos in the first place. Someone who had a million subscribers. I know it's possible. Keep going, I know you'll make it :)
