- There are a lot of resources available online to help you learn guitar. But are they all good? No. In this video I rank the ones that I've used using the already outdated format of a tier list! TRENDS MOVE FAST AND I MOVE SLOW :)
Some of the resources I've used include yousician, rocksmith, justinguitar, martymusic, fender play, andyguitar, jamplay, and more!
I've already made videos about a lot of them:

You are above S. goes without saying
@@RedlightBlue - ruclips.net/video/Ug88HO2mg44/видео.html
I have to agree. For rock...Guitar lessons is way up there bro they def need inclusion here.
@@MusoraMedia Aaaw that was so good
Oof
Thanks dude :) much appreciate the shout out!! Your vids are fun, drop me an email if you wanna collab on something fun! :) see contact me page of site cos I don't wanna put my email here!
If you’re a true Redlight Blue fan, you’d know before you clicked on the video that justinguitar would be an S tier
You already know
I knew that without ever having seen a Redlight Blue video and by just knowing justinguitar lmao
@@Buihuh lol I sure am glad I started with the best :)
Where is guitarlesson 365 ?
Sad carl brown noises
carl is an S for sure
based on the amount of comments, i'm guessing S
@@RedlightBlue Definitely S. It was what I immediately wanted to comment as well.
He is a solid S. Before Rick Beato I learned everything from Carl.
Ps. He not just zooms in he has 3 camera angles.
Guitar hero at S class
is there higher than s class
Marty Schwartz should be at SSS tier on his intro alone
HERE WE GO
HEY WHATS UP GUYS MARTY SHWARTZ HERE
@@plazmid1561 how about rick graham's "i hope you're all doing extreeeeeeeeeemely well out there. I know, i am"
We can agree that Justin Marty and Andy are the three pillars of RUclips guitar learners
@@fartslinga3539 Marty and Justin are both really good players and teachers. Andy is good for beginners but his skills are quite basic.
Smoke on the Water lesson #2
I came into this video ready to cry if Marty music wasn't in A or S and I wasn't disappointed
Thanks for including us! 🙏🏼 We're gonna do our best to climb the list! 🎸
Once you're on android ;)
@@RedlightBlue Don't mention the war. 😂
I think Gibson bought it
have you come to android yet?
Those Portugese tabs those. Shout out to CifraClub
marty justin and andy are the ones that taught me to _guitar_
Wtf where’s Carl from GuitarLessons365?!
Jamison C right?! The guys great he goes fast but it’s always pretty spot on and he has soooo many lessons
Any answer other than S is incorrect. Carl has been my saving grace for as long as I've played
Marty should be in a thicc tier
you are right. will have to reupload
This is only my second video of yours, but so far I love how you’re straight to the point, and I think your editing style is cool. Great content.
You, my friend, have earned a sub.
justin guitar is definitely s+ tier, he puts effort into his lessons and the way he orders and formats it makes it a smoother and easier experience from what i've done so far 10/10 it's actually helpful + actually free
Literally found out about your channel today and binge watched the videossss
You are really funny ,,love.
love u 2
I absolutely adore your editing.
Yes I watched a lot of Justins tutorials myself. He's great !
my fav
I mean, Andy doesn't zoom in to the neck, but he explains the position of every finger or the name of the chord as well as how to transition inbetween them. Which is honestly pretty helpful. Also, his electric guitar lessons were very fun and enjoyable.
JustinGuitar is the channel that got me improvising. I used to be scared to even attempt it. Thanks Justin! 🙏
Thanks for the great videos. Trying to get back into guitar for a solid winter hobby.
I actually watch these guitar tutorial videos to make myself a better guitarist but for some reason my guitar only has four strings smh
@@MouthyKnight 😂😂😂
Carl Brown is the online guitar teaching GOD
Love your profile pic
@@Isa-ug7rp Was going to say the same thing :D
Yes Carl def needs to be on this list
Agreed Carl is the goat. Super accurate lessons
I paid for the Andy Guitar beginner course - worth every penny. Andy is like having a really enthusiastic friend who *really* wants to teach you guitar. I'm going to start his improver course next week. Looking forward to it.
if marty schwartz isnt there i swear to god
Rocksmith really taught me everything. I've played it for a year, and I'm already playing Zeppelin and Pink Floyd solos and much inbetween!
Did you start out with it from scratch though?
@@Ciraze Basically, yes. I mean I learned "I love Rock and Roll" by Joan Jett previously, but it was a major beginner version. Passed that was all Rocksmith. Really, I spent a bit of time just on the menu too, playing random things using licks I learned from songs and using tones I created
wow you really cut out the boring parts of the video. Was really fun to watch the video!
Lmao thanks for noticing :) I definitely cutout a lot more talking than I used aha
Redlight Blue lmao destroyed
Literally got an online guitar course ad before this video
Same
I got Rocksmith 2014 on PC for AU$14.31 from humble bundle, and because I had purchased Rocksmith back in 2012 (I only played it 5 times or something and wasn't interested in learning) I bought the Rocksmith 1 Disc Import tool and I can play all the original rocksmith songs (except for a certain 5 for licensing reasons)
I'm so glad I bought it, I plan on learning from Justin Guitar and practice/learn songs from Rocksmith!
Congrats on 100k (soon) iv been here since 3k
For anyone learning fingerstyle, i really recommend lick n riff !
I love Assafrivalifromlicknriffdotcom
How did you forget about Guitar zero2hero he is the best teacher on RUclips and you should check him out
i will check him out
I knew you would put justin guitar on top tier before even watching the video
lmao i mean, ya
No Paul Davids or Guitarpilgrim?
I’ve learned so much from these two guys
I believe guitarzero2hero is by far the best teacher on RUclips as he takes his time and has graphics to really help you out
He even has tabs, literally the best
Been a subscriber since today
Congrats on twenty thousand boiiiiiiiii
Carl Brown crew represent! I learnt so many songs off him, basically my entire left and right hand dexterity and endurance is thanks to his Megadeth and Metallica song lessons.
*Hey how ya doing Justin here*
Honestly tho his courses are very very helpful and well organised I made better progress thanks to him
Howd you write his voice in text? Incredible
@@RedlightBlue Phrases you can hear
What is your opinion on Tyler's (music is win) Guitar Super System?
it sux. trust me. and i am good
lasernaysh89 is this a joke or is it really bad
Adrian Annyndra It’s really not that good
A-bysmal
Your match against Nadal in 2005 Rome Masters final was one of the greatest matches ever man. Did not know you could also play the guitar.
I'm so glad this video actually gets to the point straight away instead of pointless waffling like most channels have. That being said couldn't agree more with Justin being the absolute best teacher out there
I love your humour it genuinely makes me laugh
love u
ikr hes just like your friendly neighborhood guitar bro, teaching you guitar tricks.
Yes I'm doing his intermediate foundation modules. He's truly the best
He’s the best until you get past the foundation models, his advanced course is lacking, you’re better off with something like guitarlessons365 for advanced stuff, or maybe guitar tricks
And you still are not playing the damn guitar
Shutup & Play - guitar tutorials
is one of the best if you’re not just starting out
I watched his Hotel California intro when I was like 3 months into guitar and got really frustrated because he wasn't babysitting me. After two days I knew the intro exactly like it was originally played, all thanks to him. Today he is my favourite and only guitar teacher (I'll have to donate to him soon)
No one asked for this but everyone needed this
Edit: I just want to say that you are a very underrated channel with a great editors video. Your quality is that to someone who has a million guitars, and really needs attention.
I guess I picked well when I started watching Justin's videos recently
Love u so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
And thank u 👏👏💓
Completely agree with your tier list, I just wish Yousician was higher up...to justify my subscription. I forgot to cancel it and now I've got it till September, I guess after finishing the courses I could try singing or piano...
lmfao that happened to me too. yousician is actually s tier until september
3 min vid! What a saint.
Brilliant.
I agree with him, I’ve been using Justin app for a month and seen to be quite good
HAHA YESS, THE VIDEO I NEEDED
Where would you put yourguitarsage? From what I've seen he seems pretty darn good. Like the A class channels you showed he has a LOT of videos going over specific things, and he also has paid courses. But his beginner course with 30 lessons is free, so the paid courses are all more specific and for advanced play.
i'd only seen a couple before, but just subbed. vids seem super high quality, and he seems awesome
Justin is a legend i swearrrrrr
Dude I got an ad with you in it before this vid
good stuff
Carl brown has taught me a lot. 😞. And Matt Brown
What about Davie504? He is one of the best guitarists in all of the you of tubes.
0 tutorials F tier for learning
Ikr he should've been S tier

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky watching the guitars and learning that way.
Justin guitar took me from absolute bigginer to soloing in major scale in just about 14 month(humble brag 😜) (skipped the pentatonic scale though 😅) but you guys should definitely check out these other guitar channels
Guitar lessons 365
steve stine (freaking love this dude)
Ben eller (not a complete tutorial channel and his humour may be a little off putting for someone)
Some "fun" music theory and non music theory based channels (you can learn from them but some are not so rigorous ) .

amazing recommendations, thank you :)
steve stine is so underrated
How did you forget about letsplayguitar! He’s such a great teacher
Right before this lesson I had a guitar lesson ad
Haven’t watched yet but Swift lesson better be on here
OK justin here I come (just finished the beginner course by Andy)
Rocksmith is for me definitly the best tool, ofcourse everyone learns a different way, I love fast metal riffs and solos and after about 2 years of using rocksmith and nothing else I can confirm it works! I'm playing stuff like hardwired, spit out the bone, blackened. Even stuff like bb king and albert king. It's a fantastic tool if you are able to be harsh on yourself and really judge where you are going wrong.
Just gotta Santana ad right before this
My man Marty.
Good shit
Have you tried Yourguitarsage? Would like to hear you views on his channel.
I’ve been flipping from Justin guitar and Andy guitar. Feel like they’re the only ones that are pretty good.
Hes been mentioned before and I completely forgot about him lmao. I'll reinvestigate and let you know
S+ shredmaster Scott
Marty was my jam back in the day
For me Mike from Art of Guitar is amazing. I highly recommend checking it out!
The groovy guitar dude is really cool
Just enjoyed listening to you 🤣🤣🤣
i mean marty did taught me how to play polly and wonderwall, back then i was struggling to play those songs by tabs.
Imo as a begginer JustinGuitar is the best and i have learned the most from him, and fastest from him. I also love his personality and just overall him and his tutorials
The Marty part at 2:45 kills me every time 😂
best one is cifra club eventough their channel is in portuguese, all their videos have english subtitles and are the best when it comes to playing as correct and close to the original
Would it make sense to learn basic stuff on yousician and more advanced by like going to a music academy or something?
Rocksmith will mainly be the cost of the wire ($30 I think) as the game is usually $5-$10 on sale seems like
Andy is the best and you cannot change my mind and if you try to change my mind i will start crying and will not stop but on an unrelated note, i love u
no, justin >:(
love u 2
Redlight Blue it’s okay it’s okay man be cool we’re all friends here...... 😰
@@Whatserface3 JUSTIN >:(
Which one do you think are the best for basics and beginner beginners like don’t know ANYTHING
Great breakdown! I might add that I think yourguitaracademy.com/courses is pretty great too and all free.
I also think the 'Lessons' in Rocksmith are pretty decent as they all have 'Practice Tracks' to gauge how your doing with the particular technique and skill there teaching. A no brainer for the low price when its on sale. Of course you have to buy the cable (if using an electric guitar) which is usually about 30 quid, but so worth the price especially if you have a mac as you can also easily use it with Garage Band too.
Def agree with Justin.
Not a bad list
I would add the Synster Gates School at syngates.com, I know a lot of people have learned guitar from this website.
Yeah cant believe this wasnt added.
Yousician premium+ is only 14,99€/month if you pick the yearly plan here in Finland. It's really fun in my opinion and it helped me getting started. And also I don't get what you mean by saying there's not enough famous songs. There are many from hendrix, rhcp, lynyrd skynyrd, scorpions and many more. I get that people don't probably like same kind of music but those are really big names for me.
i totally get where you're coming from, and i feel like i'm bias because i remember when they had custom songs, so the song selection was literally endless. as for the year subscription, i did that once and only ended up using it for a couple of months before moving on. so a lot of my issues fall on me, and i could see how others would have a completely different experience. that said, i've seen a fair amount of people who have had the same experience. so i guess the best thing to do is try it and decide for yourself
@@RedlightBlue Yeah I hope that I could get atleast some worth for my money so I can 'really start' playing the guitar later. I find it quite motivational to see one of my favourite songs with different kind of difficulties, and someday possibly mastering them with the hardest one! Btw, discovered your channel about a week ago and got to say you have entertaining videos with nifty and funny little edits. Keep on rockin' like this! (as yousician tells me after playing perfect performance)
Think im going to have to give jamplay a try. All i'm interested in doing is playing along to songs by The Cult, Motley Crue, Nirvana etc. Have no interest in theory. Jamplay is the only one i have found that has a 'Beginners rock guitar course'. Been using justin for about 3 months but it's all acoustic and, although it is awesome I just find it a bit boring for me (someone who just wants to plug in, turn on the distortion and smash out some power chords, lol).
The way you spoke reminded me of how I behave when i‘m drunk...
Truefire should be up there also. Their new format makes the lessons alot easier to follow than guitar tricks.
i'll have to try them out! the website looks very clean
@@RedlightBlue This is my question a well. Have you had a chance to check them out yet? I mean... It's been 2 years since publishing this video. 😜 I assume they're pretty good since they sponsor 5 Watt World and he seems to know what he's talking about. It's possible that's just for the camera, but I doubt it. 🤷♂️
what about the Tom Morello masterclass I'm guessing it's similar to the Santana one
Where would you rank Tom morello's masterclass on electric guitar?
i grew up on justin, kudos!
I watch the full Ads on your videos so hopefully you get the all the revenue
Nice.
What about Paul Gilbert's online school? Where would you rank that?
what about Udemy and music is win and your guitar sage? good list tho
What about Cifra Club?
Don't forget that Paul Gilbert offers lessons now, he has plenty of old videos you can find too, and he's great at explaining what he's teaching in a simple way.
