I have a tip for new guitar learners (literally works for EVERYTHING that you want to leanr), basically if you're not interested in playing the guitar today or if you're feeling lazy, dont just take a break. Instead just play for like 5 minutes, or recap what you learnt yesterday. Try to practice daily atleast for 5 minutes a day. If you continue doing this daily playing the guitar will become a habit for you and you wouldnt need any external motivation for you to start.
When I first started I was super impatient and just wanted to learn but didn’t, it wasn’t till I hit some depression and forced myself to buy my first electric guitar and learned my first full song “don’t fear the reaper” then I spent Time just jamming, sometimes 10 minutes then later to play tor 2 hours! Just kept pushing myself till I noticed my skills getting better, now I use that to just about everything I do! I owe a lot to the guitar
I'd also recommend breaking lessons into small parts, and doing each part after 1 hour of break. Doing 30 minutes/day is somehow much harder than doing 5 minutes 6 times. It helps me to continue learning Japanese, programming and guitar even while struggling with depression (which kills 99% of your motivation for months).
Disagree. You dont wanna play, think why; we dont make habits of thinks we dont like to do, no matter how long you do them. I used that method of playing no matter what a mount of time just for the sake of habit. Do that for years. Dont know if that make the habit cause i forced my self to play anyways, and i struggle to improve. What worked for me was to play new and challenging stuff that i actually liked, and REST when i dont want to play.
Thanks for the video content! Apologies for chiming in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you researched - Rozardner Guitar Professionalism Reality (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a great exclusive product for easy guitar learning system for adults without the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my mate after many years got amazing results with it.
Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else trying to find out online guitar course try Alkarno Amazing Guitar Alchemist (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my neighbor got amazing results with it.
I\'m not sure but ,if anyone else wants to discover best guitar courses try Alkarno Amazing Guitar Alchemist (just google it ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my work buddy got cool results with it.
Quick tip that works for me: I gave myself the task to pluck AT LEAST one string on the guitar a day (I have to pick it up and play the one string, not like pluck it while it's sitting on the floor or whatever) and I almost always do much more than that; the hardest part is really picking up the darn thing and starting. haha
I'd also recommend breaking lessons into small parts, and doing each part after 1 hour of break. Doing 30 minutes/day is somehow much harder than doing 5 minutes 6 times. It helps me to continue learning Japanese, programming, 3d modeling and guitar even while struggling with depression (which kills 99% of your motivation for months).

That advice you gave at the end was actually super helpful. 15 minutes a day seems a lot more doable than 1 hour a day and at least that would make me consistently practice too!
I agree and disagree. I am already mad at Justin for not taking into consideration small handed people, or people with limited mobility due to age, disease (like Arthritis) etc... that someone like Lauren Bateman does. I don't care much for her, but apparently she does her real life students well into their 90's which is something Justin should do. Been learning for 1 and a half year. I started on rocksmith but left it behind and i am now playing to spotify and backing tracks instead. And here is a bit of advice to other beginners. Go and learn theory, scales etc even if just a bit. I put barely any time into these and even though i can play an easier dragonforce solo from their older ballad like songs, I have zero clue about how to actually write my own stuff and let alone improvise. Well to be precise i can write simpler melodies but i have to google on what works with what cord
I started with rocksmith a few years ago for guitar, and realized that it was not for me. i picked it up about a year after and have really been enjoying learning again.
Great video! Dear user that might be starting, If you take something from this is: *It adds up* . next level guitar with David Taub been in the online game since the early 200s. His lessons are all planned out you should give them some credit. in fact, he has Marty on some of his old lessons way before he became a youtube star.
I would say the other in-person perk to learning guitar is that the teacher can not only correct bad habits before they form, but see the level where you’re at and help you focus on an area where you’re weaker than others (IF you have a good teacher of course). Online lessons were great for me, but I did have to skim around a little due to having played on my own for so long. Some things I am still really bad at, and others I’m pretty good; so it’s unbalanced. It’s also different motivation to take the time to learn a lesson, than physically going to learn. At least for me.
I just love the editing in this video + your cute personality,,, I am so excited to learn how to play the guitar and I am watching a bunch of your videos to do so as well!!!!
lmao this guy... I came here to watch his review on fender play and so far I have watched like 7 of his videos. Great info an all the online guitar lessons and thanks for the laughs
Songsterr or Pro Ultimate guitar tabs, you can listen to tab and it also has rhythmic information so you can actually play songs to a drumbeat or metronome.
Also, I recommend you figure out the key of the song to understand what scale shapes, arpeggios and such are used for leads and what chord progressions are used.
We all suck. Robert Johnson became a legend because he was told he sucked, so he practiced a lot and became better than anyone else. Eric Clapton is self taught and he thought learning guitar was too difficult and seriously wanted to quit. My hands are small and weak. I sometimes cried in frustration, I can't play many chords (for now). But with the correct hand position, stretching always before playing and strenght exercises and spider exercises for agility, I am improving. It's important you try to do at least few minutes every single day, otherwise you can loose what you've learned, expecially when you're a beginner. When I played other instruments and I was a beginner, if I stopped for a few days I could loose many progresses. So don't be lazy. If Django did it you can too.

Maybe this christmas but not counting on that to much, Wife handles the money now and she is tighter than Dick's hat band. But there is a lot you can learn from Justin even if you do not have a guitar.
about 4-5 years ago i tried to use those “games” and all i would do is just try to pass the song and move on and never really learn, so i still wasn’t good and couldn’t play and I gave up after a while, I’m just picking it up again and this time I’m planning on doing all the lessons I can for free in a day on those apps and then instead of being done when i blow past them, i’m going to just keep doing the lessons over and over to actually “master” the song or lesson. that way i don’t finish my lessons in 15 mins and be upset cause i want to keep going without learning and instead actually learn and know what i’m doing.
