Me and a pal of mine got a couple of sports and have put them through absolute hell, they seem to be extremely robust. Then another mate of ours got a bronco and the esc burnt out on its second run out. Not sure if he did something catastrophically wrong or it was just a dodgy model. Having said that it is a lovely model and when it was running did its job well. I'd still get a sport over a standard trx4 simply because there's less to break and there's nothing we have found yet that one cant do that the other can.
Yes. I have the same issue with the land rover shell on my trx4. I am in the process of stripping and rebuilding mine. I am going to fit the proline raptor shell. Spray it. Light weight body as the trx 4 is so top heavy.
I bought the Blazer because I loved the body. The high and low transfer case and locking differentials are fun in the snow and on walking trails it makes everything turn Tighter and go faster. They are fantastic out of the box and after the correct modifications just about Unstoppable I put way too much money into mine
You can purchase a separate set of fenders that are half as wide instead of those triangular shock mounts, so you can fit thinner bodies yet still have fenders. They’re super cheap and made by Traxxas (part# 8080).
Thanks. Helped me decide. Goin with the bronco. Only 7$ to change to sport but still have 2speed. Assuming the fender kit to change sport to bronco cost more. Also Defender body has fenders on it.. so again that 7$ shock tower parts only. BRONCO IT IS. 😃
@@goneviral6037 Thank you Mike :) Apparently can also swap to the narrow fender kit now together with the sport body mounts. I might give that a try as I don't trust my cutting skills :P
Thank your for posting this. I got the 79 blazer and was wondering what the difference was between the sport. Ive been looking at bodies and wondering what would fit as there seems alot more for the sport.
At 4:40 you mentioned that some fine-tuning of the body mount system is required if removing the fenders on the bronco. What type of fine-tuning is required? Does it required new parts? I have the chassis kit (same as the Bronco internally) and I wanted to swap to bit a smaller body like the sport.
"Fine tuning" was probably the wrong word choice. You just have to adjust the body posts to fit whatever body you decide to go with. One thing to note though is that the rear body post on the sport is only about an inch tall so you need a longer/taller one if you are trying to fit something like a bronco, wrangler, or SUV style body. I can't remember if the kit comes with the longer body posts or not.
Bronco is a trail truck, not a rock crawler. The sport can be easily tuned to be a nearly unstoppable rock crawling machine beating any axial setup out there for a weence of the $. TRAXXAS engineering, parts, manual, build kits are second to none.
Came across your video, very helpful in showing the differences. Which one would you recommend for someone just starting out in the RC Crawler hobby? Also, looking at the unassembled kit versions to build it chassis up.
The sport unassembled kit is by far your best value for money considering the accessories they give you as part of the bundle. You'll save yourself a couple of hundred getting that one right off the bat. Its very good.
Yes, but you will have to change the body mounts as the Bronco is much higher in the back. Id recommend getting the Proline Bronco body rather than the Traxxas Bronco. The Traxxas is like $100. The proline is $30. You can see the Proline Bronco body in some of my other videos.
Yup I think The Sport just went to first place for me- Thanks for posting
Great comparison. I have a blazer and defender. Love them both.
You’re rolling 7s man! I was the 777 like :) great video!! I’m considering getting one and didn’t know the differences

Traxxas electronics are pure rubbish
Nice comparison. I think the blue sport is my favourite colour. Good video.
AnT R/C yeah, just wish the windows were clear. There’s a kit model available too now if you want to paint your own body and assemble the truck.

Actually you forgot to mention there is also difference in the radio. Good comparison otherwise.

Thank you for that information. I’ll order them for my TRX4 Sport. 👍
Thank you so much this helped me with my choice
Great video just got my sport like it a lot
I had a trx4 sport years ago. It was okay but, I ended up selling it. I now have a SCX10 III. I enjoy it a lot more than the trx4.
Can you put the sport body on the bronco truck?
Great comparision thanks a lot.
Just ordered my bronco.
That was a great video!
Excuse me sir, is it just the sport shock towers to convert bronco? Do body post and mounts work with sport shock towers? Thanks for your time

Lol. I didn’t follow my own statement after all. I got a great deal on a defender I couldn’t pass up. Or I would have got bronco
John Miller I’m doing same thing, bought bronco and putting sport body on it
@@goneviral6037 did the sport body fit on the bronco? or does it require modification?
@@momosan888 it fit, but had to cut the fender wells, and get sport body mounts,
@@goneviral6037 Thank you Mike :) Apparently can also swap to the narrow fender kit now together with the sport body mounts. I might give that a try as I don't trust my cutting skills :P
Can you the bronco body onto the sport ie without using the wheel wells
Yes just need taller rear body mount
Thank you... this helped me make my decision!
and your decision is?
Great :)
Can i put mudguard on trx4 sport?
Thanks! Just the video I needed to see.
GREAT COMPARISON !!!
On french shop, it s mentioned the #8080 parts cant fit in the trx4 sport, it s real ? Many thanks
I'm only 12 years old,and I'm looking into DC crawlers
Yeah just bought me a TRX for builders kit I could have the sport or I can have the open discs and open transmission not sure can you help

Cool vid bro I just subbed up 👍🏻
Does Traxxas bronco body will fit straight to Sport ?
Yes if you change your back body posts 👍🏻💯
@@sprather84 thank you just made my decision because of this
Will the sport body fit on the bronco chassis without removing the inner fenders?
What Axial( or others) body will fit to Traxxas Sport without a lot of modifications?
Mostly any body will fit if it’s 12.3
Very useful vídeo thanks
I'm 3 years late but nice video anyway 👍👍
Never too late! Glad you liked it!
Can you take the bronco fender wells & put them on the TRX4 Sport?
Steven LaPierre yes you can

Or put a Bec in and power the servos and lights off it and add weight up front while using the main battery for just the motor
I wish they would still include the inner fenders on the sport
you buy that online trx 8080
@@tyukikiquinchi7367 yeah not included on it though
@@ToGrimmToWin yeah because it's just a budget crawler. But its so good haha.
With 2 speed versus one speed it was an easy decision for me
Does the broncos body fit right on the sport
Yeah mang
Good cars. I love trx4 all the best
Traxxas trx4 sport in Usa : 350 dollars , but in France : 450 euros !
in indonesia TRX Sport $600, bronco $750🙄
😢 tristesse my friend
The bumper is better with that material so that it can take more bumps

Thanks for the video! Can the Bronco inner fenders be removed pretty easily?
Nevermind, just saw your answer!
Hey
Very good video. Subbed and liked. Check me out when you get a chance.
They are trail crawlers
The best trx is the one you can afford lol
Traxxas motors are a 5 slot motor. Fyi
That means no rock lights for the Sport. Booooo!
made in taiwan XDDD
