I absolutely love my sport and I abuse mine and haven't broken a single part, I even ran a 3930kv brushless in it for a while but I out the stick set up back in for the low speed crawling. I run 3s only and on crawler mode can pop wheelies in forward and reverse lol just go full speed and slam it in reverse and do a long reverse wheelie. Oh and before anyone complains I'm breaking it I know how to drive I have a granite on a 5200kv on 3s on stock plastic inputs and haven't stripped anything so i have trottle control. The thing with the trx4 is it's built like a tank it can handle abuse I let everyone drive it and abuse it and I took all my diffs and transmission apart today to check it and put new grease and they were perfect literally like I never drove it it's crazy what this drivetrain can handle the only plastic gear on the thing is the spur.

yes they are slow. but what do you want for 365.00 dollars Then 200 in up grades 60 bucks for the two speed transmission and the labor time. Mmmmm Just put a Sport Body on a Regular TRA-4
Yeah, performance wise the Sport is the best TRX4 platform to have and start with. It's body is very lightweight for lower center of gravity and you don't have the extra shifting servos and mechanical parts adding weight and creating more potential failure points. The sport also uses the more common 12.3" (313mm) wheelbase which tons of crawler bodies are made for. The Bronco uses a stretched 12.8" chassis which is adjustable down to 12.3" with parts added separately I believe, so not big deal. -Brett
Could this handle a 2s brushless system? Love the look of the scale trucks but would love to do some light bashing and possibly some crawling. Im more of a go fast kind of guy but love the look of the crawlers
you can modify the normal trx 4 to use the same body as the sport and in that case other than the weight difference the normal version is better in every way and all the extra weight is very low down making it even more stable. And it being a 1/10 RC crawler the aproach and departure angles barely matter as the motor is more than powerful enough to push it up a hill steeper than the bumpers.

Lorne Hutton dude put the crack pipe down your frickn high! this looks nothing like a slash!!!! Axial has been in the crawler game a lot longer the trx4 is just as good if not better than an axial and I have both and cannot complain about either!!!!
if you upgrade the diff and the two speed it would almost seem better with the approach angle, and if you go with two speed upgrade how do you change it if its not on your transmitter?
The 2-Speed requires different mechanical parts in the transmission alone with another servo, which is not included with the sport. It would be best to buy a TRX4 model that includes the 2-Speed out of the box, rather than buy all the parts separately to upgrade the Sport. -Brett
I like Traxxas, but as for a crawler, that suspension is terribly stiff, and theres at least 2 trucks that are far better at cheaper. The scx10, and the cr12 neither ate traxxas of course, but $ for performance, and the face the $ is less with better performance, sadly I have to step away from traxxas. Love the video, fairly informative.
Lol great marketing angle cheaper body....less features I know call it lightweight! Other than the bumbers just looks like a cheaper trx4 to me the manual crank windows version
Man you should stop talking about the weight reduction from the sub-micro servos and locking diffs like it was planned.. All of those is what made the Premium TRX4 more exciting and that minimum weight was beneficial. The EXCESSIVE weight came from the original Land Rover and Tactical unit bodies which were too heavy... The Bronco version its the best sweet spot while the Sport is a stripped down version to make it affordable, That was the main point… MONEY! not to be "Performance Oriented"... Replace the Land Rover body on the Premium TRX4 and it will walk all over the Sport Model.

I’ve been in RC for over 30 years. Someone please explain to me how going very slow over rocks is so much fun ? I truly don’t get it. I will get one eventually just to have it. But is that all it is ? Just a cool looking RC ?
It's the challenge of finding terrain that you think you can or can't pass though, and then trying it. The trucks are surprisingly capable so you'll find yourself driving on the edge of what's possible often. Plus there are no limits or boundaries, everything is game on. It's relatively easy to do with new people, so it's been popular with families to do together. -Brett
I started off with a crawler. It’s somewhat satisfying driving it around as a real truck. I do have a Kraton and rock rey for speeding around when the need for speed arises.
I'm a couple years late to the game, but crawlers like the TRX4 are also great trucks for just hitting some hiking trails and turning your walk into a game. You can drive your truck on the trail, to the side of the trail while you're walking on it, and even go off trail and into the woods or whatever to see what terrain you can conquer. The TRX4 with its portals is a really fantastic performer with its portal axles for going off trail.
It literally says what you need on the box, a ready to run is considered a vehicle that can function with all parts, and batteries are not considered parts, but rather have there own category. The batteries only cost 30 for the NimH, and at most 5 for the double A
Got mine last year in red. It will out climb just about anything, except the Traxxas 6X6.

At the time of this recording it’s evident you didn’t seem to know what a locker actually is. There are open diffs, locked diffs (lunchbox) and locking diffs snd LSD’s.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
nice please what is the background music name?
Where do you from?
PröGër Gämïng Merica where be you at
dude any one knows what is the background music is?
great video
Also wondering the same thing.
looks like another slash with a truck body, go axail is better
Lorne Hutton dude put the crack pipe down your frickn high! this looks nothing like a slash!!!! Axial has been in the crawler game a lot longer the trx4 is just as good if not better than an axial and I have both and cannot complain about either!!!!
I can’t hear you with that music playing!
if you upgrade the diff and the two speed it would almost seem better with the approach angle, and if you go with two speed upgrade how do you change it if its not on your transmitter?
The 2-Speed requires different mechanical parts in the transmission alone with another servo, which is not included with the sport. It would be best to buy a TRX4 model that includes the 2-Speed out of the box, rather than buy all the parts separately to upgrade the Sport.

People have compared the trx4 sport to other popular rock crawlers and believe it or not it beats everything out there while stock
@@ThisIsDavesGarage That is all I care about
Lol great marketing angle cheaper body....less features I know call it lightweight! Other than the bumbers just looks like a cheaper trx4 to me the manual crank windows version
That's because it is cheaper
Man you should stop talking about the weight reduction from the sub-micro servos and locking diffs like it was planned.. All of those is what made the Premium TRX4 more exciting and that minimum weight was beneficial. The EXCESSIVE weight came from the original Land Rover and Tactical unit bodies which were too heavy... The Bronco version its the best sweet spot while the Sport is a stripped down version to make it affordable, That was the main point… MONEY! not to be "Performance Oriented"... Replace the Land Rover body on the Premium TRX4 and it will walk all over the Sport Model.
show us some video please daddy please show us video
wrong
2:00 you called a servo a avc
Turn off that 40's Music, turn off all music
Turn off that Music
Doesn’t really sound like 40’s music to me
Where is it!!! Your the last ones to get it!!
AMain Hobbies thx bro! I'm just anxiously waiting! 😁
Hi, I just bought new TRX4 sport. Do you guys suggest break in before use it? if so should i do it dry or wet? can you explain a bit
You don't need to break it in, just drive it. Maybe check out this video to avoid common mistakes with r/c: ruclips.net/video/62J8y0nJqIY/видео.html

I did not see anything my 2 wheel drive Big Foot would not do, so what was the point of this video ???????????????????????????????
I’ve been in RC for over 30 years. Someone please explain to me how going very slow over rocks is so much fun ? I truly don’t get it. I will get one eventually just to have it. But is that all it is ? Just a cool looking RC ?
It's the challenge of finding terrain that you think you can or can't pass though, and then trying it. The trucks are surprisingly capable so you'll find yourself driving on the edge of what's possible often. Plus there are no limits or boundaries, everything is game on. It's relatively easy to do with new people, so it's been popular with families to do together.

I started off with a crawler. It’s somewhat satisfying driving it around as a real truck.
I do have a Kraton and rock rey for speeding around when the need for speed arises.
It's for high IQ users. One of which, you are not.
The TRX4 with its portals is a really fantastic performer with its portal axles for going off trail.
it is NOT fully "ready to run out the box" when you need to buy additional items!
It literally says what you need on the box, a ready to run is considered a vehicle that can function with all parts, and batteries are not considered parts, but rather have there own category. The batteries only cost 30 for the NimH, and at most 5 for the double A
This man does not work at Traxxas, case in point he is saying "our" a lot in his description of this rig.
Weirdest music ever..
traxxas is a stupid bastard shop, one gear in crawler WHAT?
