As I get through these, I have avoided watching them out of order. I'm glad we could all get a good look at this kit. They really cheaped out on some of it, but knowing how capable the AR44 is and its steering angle, I'm looking forward to getting more caught up to the current videos. Happy to see you going with the kit build to start even though it's tempting to make it how we would want. We'll really be able to see its progress from step 1 through step x in the build 😁
You would think the "Builders Kit" would eliminate the rtr problems but alas the economy of scale in manufacturing says put the same parts in the box to squeeze out that profit. But never fear the Dr. is in all will be right when you're done. Thanks can't wait to see your solutions to make it better.
Axial has Horizon'd the Builder's Kit into an RTR without any of the RTR stuff. No add-ons, only take-aways. I think AT the blowout sale price of $150, it's fair-- but at the everyday price of the RBK, it's just not a competitive option. An Element Builder's Kit 2 is $10 more and gives you a slew of upgrades, including shocks that are so much better it's incomparable.
An engineer can draw a butthole on paper but can't make it poop in the field. It is a good way to put it in my industry. Keep up the good work, and I really like the show, especially the bench work.
I mounted the Jconcepts 2.2 ruptures on the high/low trail k-10 today. OMG, everyone should drive a rig with these tires. It made new lines with the tires wet!
My go-to at the course has been hyrax in predator comp. But I tested the aliexpress ruptures yesterday and pulled 2 lines I couldn’t before. But also couldn’t do 2 I normally do. I was on a stiffer insert in the rear so I’m changing back to the same one I had in the rear before and see if that was the cause. Lol. Always change 2 things at once
Bought the 10.3 Bronco on the same clearance sale as you bought the 10.2 kit. Was really disappointed to see I needed an Axial specific servo horn to use my Flash Hobby 60 kg servo. Spectrum servos are 23t for some strange reason. My disappointment continued when I noticed that the panhard mount limits steering. Axial still can't get it right. In any case every electronic item but the dig servo has been replaced. Stock there's minimal drag brake. If it was more than the $299 I paid would be building another from scratch.
Jake just got the Ottsix UD rear set, I didn't know if was gonna go all-in with the OD front as well, as I'm pretty happy with his wheelspeed. The small amount of rear UD is definitely noticeable, I will likely pick up the milder front set (8/27) and see who ends up getting what gears.
If you really want to have some fun, do the untraditional “5-link”, unnecessary I know, 4-link with a panhard. I did it for fun on the SE sendero and the element groups lost their minds not understanding it was for shits and giggles. Built the entire rest of the rig and suspension around it.
Hey , hey! As much of a shambling heap as I am, I do have a chair. Well, more specifically a 30" shop stool. The structure under the bench is 36" tall, and the top is 1.25" thick, so the benchtop is between 37" and 38" from the floor. Tall people things.
That would be the rare cuculidae plasticus, who, unlike most birds, survives on the power of two D-cell batteries, which have been going for probably 10 years. He might be immortal.
My experience is the people who actually build are the ones you listen to.
I've built 2 of those kits and both times I was going nuts trying to find the little dingus they hide in bag I. 😂

Cool vid as always. What are smithereens? And where may I obtain them?
For me your ramblings add to my education. So ramble away👍
I got tomorrow off for a change. I’m
Gonna wrench on a rig and hopefully get some hwheelin in before the rains.

Sync the drive shafts, Doc. Not that I have learned the hard way, but I have learned the hard way.
A lot more people needed to know about McMaster they are really great I mean really really great place to get stuff
looks like you could fit the 4th link in front, worst case maybe skinny rod with the offset rod end. Just an idea.

I'm thinking of getting them for snowtire duty. :} -Or HB Rovers.
I just got mine in the mail today, I’m gonna get out this weekend and test them out.

@@nicholasstephey8475 I have proline dual stage foams but opted to try the come with foams. I'm not sure if I will need them. Thought's?
Oh the Jconcept's seem like a soft medium.
Substitute different end links for the pan-hard, part #5 on the 31186 tree. It sort of helps clear the servo horn and reduce axle strike.
I quite enjoy your ramblings. They have inspired me in more than one occasion. In fact, I'm actually thinking about building my own chassis soon.
DO IT. Then, try to avoid the compulsion to build MANY chassis. I have not successfully avoided this.

You can program the ESC with a standard Hobbywing box. Drag brake is only 70% from the factory
Thank you
I use the ssd double bent pan hard bar and steering link.fixed the issue in the front suspension
One great upgrade is the Ottsix ring and pinion. You can get 20% OD and much cheaper than vanquish UD gears. Helped my rig out a ton

Any chance you could show the wheel build with the double buns ?
Thank you

Strange question. I guess you are sitting on your workbench? What is the hight of the bench?

@@CrawlerCanyon Thanks, just the info I needed. I wanted to say 'at' you workbench on a stool... 😅
at 18:39 . what type of bird is singing?

@@CrawlerCanyon That's a funny comment your response is great lol !
I know you're probably just using that terminology but I thought a kg what's 2.2 lb
