Those tactics are similar to WW2 and Korean war era while Russians are using armor to get close quickly and then dismounting to fight at close proximity with small units and lots of firepower. As such Russians are at least somewhat closer to being effective.

This is pretty common for any fighting force not exposed to combat. The issue becomes... what happens when they do modernize and they take that training back to the DPRK?

The Russians usually use 8 man groups. The NK uses platoons. The losses were the same no matter whether Russia and NK approach is/was used. No report on this channel whether the NK troops took any territory. So was anyterritory taken?
