Many Ukrainians speak fluent russian - as well as Ukrainian, spoken to some degree by most Ukrainians and fluently by millions, plus Crimean Tatar, Hungarian, Rom, Polish and other languages spoken by people with the corresponding heritage. Obviously it would be great if russian became less and less relevant in Ukraine... but for now, having full command of the enemy's language is definitely an advantage and I'm glad to see they're using it.

You can't just send a guy through two weeks of training and then assign him to the paratroopers or marines and call him elite. It takes months, years of training and experience for a soldier to be classified as elite.

However, between low quality training and revolving door acquisition of soldiers, its much more feasible strategy to pull off. No russian commander is going to remember the name, face, and voice of a meat wave trooper becuase next week, or even next day, hes giving orders to another fresh face. Opsec is as porous as pumice that way.
Ukrainian Defenders (and the guys of the legions fighting for Ukraine) are amazing! They are a professional army, capable of learn and innovate warfare tactics. NATO trainers trained them very well, but then, on the battlefield they also have to adapt and exploit the situations. As Ukrainians managed to be the first army in the world using extensively the FPV drones as a deadly weapon, they are now able to teach NATO soldiers something new!

In English this is still spelt lead - but not pronounced lead but rather leed or ‘leeds’ (like the north English city. ). This English language and its words can be mind bobbling for us native speakers. Like ‘live’ (as in I live) and live (it’s alive). Exact same spelling but difference sound and meaning depending on context.
And writing is even harder. Small, and weird, quirks like how you use the British version of quote marks and not the USA version. And then there's even different styles used in them as well. Like how Chicago Manual of Style recommends not using quote marks on single words as they can be read as if used with the so called scare-quotes. Instead, they recommend using words as Words, or I think they do, it was quite a while since I read about it. :P

If the batteries weren't stored properly, they will be unusable. Check first for leaks or swelling and do a capacity test.
Contact your local city office because they should know where the closest Ukraine center is in your area.
