WOW Super helpful, specially for designers and fashion designers, this will be great to maka patterns for clothing Ty and continue the good work, new subscriber and glad i found u miss😄
Hi @MISSTIROSSA. Thank you for your comment 🤗❤ The tile (square pattern) you make/draw--just before you make the texture brush--is a seamless repeating tile and could be used for wallpaper. 😄 However, if it's wallpaper for a wall (rather than a computer/tablet screen), you may need to use a different app (like Adobe Illustrator) to make a higher resolution tile. It just depends on the vendor that does the printing (like Society6, for example). Best wishes!
Yay! Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for commenting 🤗❤️ I’m heading over to your other comment next. But, the short answer is that those brushes (Watercolor Set No. 1) have a few Color Pressure options set. 🙂
This is a great question and thanks for asking it🤗❤️ For the two color brushes, there are some Color Dynamics options set within the Brush Studio. For these brushes, three Color Pressure settings were set so that the two palette colors would interact with pencil pressure changes. Specifically, Saturation, Brightness, and Secondary Color. However, the percentages for each brush differ (because each brush has a different intended use). And, the Daisy Petals brush in that set (not used in this video tutorial) is a combo brush and has some interesting behaviors as a result of those Color Pressure settings. I just LOVE all of the options within the Procreate Brush Studio. Making brushes for this app is so fun and interesting (and sometimes a good puzzle for my brain, LOL 🤣😂). Thanks again for this question and I hope your day is AMAZING 🤗❤️
@@LizNess after asking the question, I did a toggle between the two brushes and this way might work, but according to what you're saying above, use the pressure sensitivity to do the toggling. I'll try, and thanks for such a tutorial. I've always wanted to make televera and now here's my chance!
Oh yes, I am in the process of moving things to Etsy and haven’t gotten to that set yet. I’ll leave a message here for you when I do🤗❤️ Thanks for your comment, support, and request 😃
Thanks for your question. I’ve never really thought about it much. 🤣 I think that I probably go between the pencil and my finger as if I am drawing (pencil) and then spreading around charcoal or pastel (finger). I just use the “tool” that makes sense to me, personally, in the moment. Honestly, I really believe that there are different and equally effective ways to approach it. 🤗❤️
It looks great, thanks for sharing. On my iPad, the brush size and opacity are on the left hand side of the screen? Do you find that your iPad gets quite warm, when using the Procreate app please? x
Thanks for these great questions. The following link is for how to change the interface (e.g., how to locate the brush size and opacity sliders to the side you'd prefer): procreate.art/handbook/procreate/actions/actions-preferences/ NOTE: I orient my iPad with the power button at right. Likewise the Procreate tools I use most (brushes/palettes) are on the right. So, I prefer the sliders there, too. But, this is just a personal thing and many right-handed users prefer the sliders on the left. Also, graphic intensive apps can cause the iPad to heat up a bit. Here's a thread from the apple community about it: discussions.apple.com/thread/251526192 Hope this helps and thanks again for your questions 🤗❤
@@LizNess Apologies - I never received a notification about your comment. After 2 years - I'm returning to digital art again and I'm considering buying something out of your Etsy shop. Many thanks x
@ Thank you for the link to the Procreate handbook. I've changed my settings now. I think it'll be much better because I kept accidentally leaving brush strokes on the canvas as I moved my hand over to use the slider on the left :) x
Thank you so much! Quick question…I followed your tutorial, and undead have a seamless design. But as soon as I make it into a brush or the stamp, It is no longer seamless. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? TIA!
This is a great question. Thank you for asking 🤗❤️ Though it doesn’t seem like it, only the original tile is seamless. That’s the artwork we use to make the texture brush. If the tile is seamless, but the design of the texture brush isn’t, there may be a setting within the Brush Studio that needs adjustment (probably Grain>Edit>Auto Repeat). The next part is the stamp. And, since the size of the canvas can vary, the texture we use (though it may be using the seamless tile as intended) won’t always create a new seamless tile. It just lays down our pattern on the canvas we’ve got. So, for me, the stamps are really about saving time for projects (for example, I create 12x12 stamps for a 12x12 canvas for scrapbook projects). So, in the end, if you’re looking for a seamless pattern to upload to a company like Society6, use that original tile-the art that comes before the texture brush and then stamp.😉 I hope this all makes sense. It’s a bit different to think about seamless patterns in terms of the basic tile-we tend to talk about the completed design made of multiple tiles. So, if I just made it even more confusing, please let me know. Or, if I answered the wrong question (sorry if I did), please let me know. Meanwhile, Happy New Year and happy illustrating🤗❤️
@@sneharathi9944 that is a great question, but I can’t answer it-because it depends on the printer. (And, I’m sorry about that-I always cringe when I have to give an “it depends” answer.) Anyways, the question comes up for me for each project and my best advice is to find out the printing specifications from the vendor that will do the printing. Printers, in my experience, are super helpful. Best wishes! And, thanks for your question 🤗🩷
Thanks for your question. 😀 The watercolor brush is from a brush set I made and sell in my shop here: pineconeandpencil.com/product/brushes_watercolor_1/ I'm thinking about making a mini course about how to make a watercolor brush set--would that be something that you're interested in? Thanks again for your comment ❤️🤗
@@lifeisart8120 I’ll add that to my notes. I’ve been thinking about creating a course on different brushes + how to use them. Thank you for your comment and encouragement in that direction 🤗❤️
GREAT question! Really, it all comes down to preference-there really is no right or wrong way when it comes to layers. For design, I tend to use layers for two reasons and they are both related to keeping my effort low and my options high 🤣😂 The first reason I prefer multiple layers is so that it is easier to make corrections-especially, if I don’t notice a mistake (or change my mind about the design) right away with shapes that are overlayed. I found it saves me effort and frustration (both in losing work if I have to undo a bunch of steps to get back to the point when I made the mistake, or in trying to cut and repair the mistake). The next reason is that I sometimes turn the layers into separate brushes so that I can lay down different colors within Procreate. So, I tend to keep like items on a layer and overlapped pieces on separate layers. Often, though, my illustrations and digital paintings are combined on a single layer. Thanks for asking about that and sharing your approach-I just love how individual approaches can differ🤗❤️
Thank you so much for your explanations on layers, which is great help for my son to make full use of Procreate. Recently he is struggling with mosaic homework and your video inspired him so much!
I wish I could hear the artist speak but the music overpowers everything. Why is loud music necessary ? Please offer a voice only option. Looks like a great tutorial. I did turn on CC with speakers off so that was helpful but of course I can't watch the visuals and read the captions at the same time, so frustrating ! But thanks for the effort.
Thank you for your comment and I’m sorry the music seemed loud. Also, I wanted to let you know that the music only plays when there is no talking on the video (just in case you’re still interested in watching the video). You should be able to lower the volume and still hear me when the music stops and I talk. Hope that helps.
