"East side love is living on the west end" I always interpreted it that they grew up on East coast funk and it influenced their California alternative rock band sound. They are giving a shout out to that. Imo.

That's really depends on what album u r listening to. Their first albums were more funks, Californaction btw and sa are more of an alternative rock.
But everything they does is pure gold and this is what really matters.
      Live long rhcp

Ok to answer the question about "East side love is living on the West end" you have to examine the lyrics which are "The world I love
    The tears I drop
    To be part of
    The wave, can't stop
Ever wonder if it's all for you?" So he talking about the loving the entire world and being part of it ....for example you live on the east side and you rep it all the time but if you truly have love for the world or people you wouldn't mind living on the west side to show unity.....it would be like me saying I love all people but I only hang out with the same people all the time so if I love people I should show it by crossing over to opposite side and mingling with other kinds of people.

This group of uniquely talented, equally important to the core sound, individually active with solo artwork over several mediums, representers of all that is pure about creating music is together the greatest band to grace a stage with stylings from rock to pop, hip hop to goth and most everything in between both original and covers of their influences with love from the likes of snoop to dave Grohl they are IT man

When they got started, the lead singer, who couldn’t sing at the time, thought he could imitate “talking over a beat,” rapping; this band is just about 40 years old, so his “flow” is very similar to rappers of the early 80’s. After a few albums of mostly rapping, he took singing lessons for a bit to add vocals/signing to their sound.

That bass you here is the one and only Flea. He also was the voice of Donnie Thornberry on Nickelodeon’s The Wild Thornberrys. Check out the band 311, they too have that California, funky, alternative sound. You’ll probably enjoy Champagne, Amber, and All Mixed Up.

Grandmaster flash was actually a big inspiration for Anthony's singing style. He also dabbled in slam poetry as well! I really enjoy his unique style for the genre he sings in

RHCP has metal influences depending on the track. They are kind of their own thing... a mix of rock, funk, rap, metal, r&b... with tinge of LA skateboarding scene. Their signature sound is funky grooves and funky bass play. At one point them and George Clinton of Parliament Funkadelic fame were hooked up. They also did some teamwork with Stevie Wonder for a cover of Higher Ground.

Absolutly addicted to your reactions. Appreciate that you react to all genres of music. Unfortunately can't join the patrons. No.1 reactor and see myself as the LFR Family. Got some suggestions of Music I'd love to see you react to...Snow-informer, red hot chilli peppers - otherside....and a whole lot more. Your reaction to Bad Touch, linkin park and NF got me hooked on you. Metallica - unforgiven 2 is super dope. Guess I should leave it at that cause my list is too freaken long since I listen to most gendres of music just not soul, r&b pop and wack ass trap and rap. MAD LOVE and congrats on your success. One more, Jason Derulo,.

The chili peppers are the gateway drug for hip hop heads to get into rock
