- 1969 Dodge Charger was my first ERTL Toy Restoration. I love the details of the old ERTL toys and this project was a nice break from the Tonka Restorations that I normally do on this channel. If you liked this video, subscribe to my channel and comment on what other types of restoration videos you would like to see!

Great job but horrible paint choices. Maybe look at a real charger for inspiration.

@@TRGRESTORATIONS That purple isn't the only thing around here that's plum crazy.
@Scott Seufert The silly thing is that he used a factory paint color for this car.
@Scott Seufert but the silly is that this person was upset he didn't use a factory color, when in fact it was a factory color.
@@TRGRESTORATIONS The grill moron.
I would of killed to see this turned into The General Lee.
I was literally thinking the same thing too
I was wondering if it had started out life as a General Lee since Ertl did have that contract with the network.
I wondered if it was a General Lee jump car
@@CaptOrbit Probably was as the Doors body shows the Door Panel edges but they don't open.
@@CaptOrbit They did make General Lees with that same unit (approx 1/16 scale) and a brown plastic ramp, resembling a mound of dirt with matching tire tracks in it. I've had three of them, including the one from my childhood, but I've never seen a General Lee this size with the pull-back/friction motor. All the ones I've seen just free-wheeled. They also had a rubber-ish push bar on the front. Now I'm interested to find out if they made them with the motor, also.
I think Rat Fink would approve of the paint job.
lol heck yeah!
Oh man hadn't thought of "Big Daddy" Roth in years!!! That's so great.
I think it pretty close to the Plumb Crazy color. Love it!
I love the powder exterior finish. Looks almost like "Plum Crazy". However, the lavender seats and dash accents makes the car look a bit like "Pimp my Ride".
The kids cheering for the sand blaster always puts a smile on my face
Thank you! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Whenever I see them toys by ERTL, Buddy L, and Tonka, my childhood comes back.
Damn, I'm gettin' old, lol🤣!
Thank you SO much... as I was watching this, I was thinking, "what was that other company that specialized in mostly metal toys..." and I could not for the life of me remember Buddy L. Now I'm not gonna have that gnawing at the back of my head all day. You've done a good thing.
@@hewlett-packardlovecraft2297, no problem!
One of the best restos so far. I kinda feel sad when you dont black out the chassis on the Tonka restorations, but with the Charger you painted and detailed everything. Was disappointed at first it wasnt going to be a General Lee, but then I saw the purple, no the purple is the right thing to do. Well done, brilliant.
Thanks! I thought about the General Lee, but figurted anything rebel flag would get a strike on my channel. This was the closest match to "Plum Crazy," one of the original Mopar colors, that I could find.
Putting something in an ultra sonic and seeing the dirt/rust dissipate off is soooo satisfying
I agree. It's a Guy-Thing 😊
it is! i had a factory job once where I got to use one it was my favorite part of the job
Outstanding restoration! That purple is spot on - nice choice!
Thank you! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Watching your sand blasting and painting process is really satisfying.
Thank you so much 😀
AMAZING! Nice to see some customisation. I did a Tonka Jeep Waggoner, and added wood panelling. The little tweaks make them more personal. Fantastic job.😀😀
Beautiful job, Tim! Friend of mine back in high school painted his car almost that color, called it plum purple!
Probably “Plum Crazy” 70s mopar color
Absolutely beautiful color choice
Those are the nicest quarter panels ever put on a car, I love 1969 everything, well done for first time.
Nice work as always.
Colour choice is spot on for the era.
Great looking resto-mod! I love that color. Looks just like Plum Crazy. That's ready for primetime at Barrett-Jackson. lol
Finally someone that caught the Mopar reference! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Love that Plum Crazy paint job!
The before / after is really impressive
Thank you! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Needs racing stripes!. Kidding. Fantastic job. Very nice choice of colour.
Looks great in "plum crazy" purple!
Creativity is the best thing for a project.
Damn I wish I could afford one of your restos. That is stunning
Thank you! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
LOVE LOVE LOVE THE DETAILS ON THE PLASTIC PIECES. GLORIOUS FINISH
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow - that is one gorgeous car.
Beautiful work on the Charger your videos are a ton of fun to watch, thank you so much

Probably the best restore I have seen from you. Very good job.
Watching that purple appear was sweet!
Wow I love that color!
Purple Charger!
Excellent job!!
Loved the added detailing, just needed to paint the sidemarker lights for one more touch..
Just FYI,there's a product that scale modelers use for lights,it dries clear like a plastic lens, great for that!!☺
My son and I love the purple you used, looks amazing!!!
A nice paint job on the car there.
That’s beautiful. My friend had a blue one. How we loved to party in that thing!
Wow! Watching the powder coat transform the color was soooo cool. Awesome restomod for sure.
Really nice, at first I thought surely recreate Dukes of Hazard but this is more creative

Now everybody I know wants one just like it thanks dude
That's just Plum Crazy how well that turned out. 😉😊
I believe Chrysler's original name for the color was Statutory Grape.
Yessss somebody gets it!
Beautiful work, greetings from Brazil
Thank you! Cheers!
Paul Restorer does a respectful restoration of toys, toys smaller than your palm 👍
There's actually a lot of channels that do 1/64th scale restorations, including Outlaw Speed Shop, Diecast Ressurrection, Time Rider, Diecast Graveyard and BareMetalHW just to name a few off the top of my head.
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
@@ForDemoPurposesOnly actually I want to restore something but I don't hv any tools,😔, actually I don't even have anything to restore 🥺
Thank you for painting this beautiful Charger purple. We simply don't see that color used enough in classic toy restorations.
Awesome job love the colors i have some ERTL vehicles in the original packaging they made a lot of cool vehicles
Yes they are!
Wow. Just wow.
You did a fantastic job on that.
Plum crazy was the hot color when I was a teenager during the mid-late 70’s.
My dad drove a 1962 Ford ranchero.
He painted that plum crazy with a gold 2-tone.coolest ranchero I’ve ever seen.
I’d like to see you do more cars like this one
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I wasn't sure at first but once you finished it loved it .
Thank you! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
From a rusted-out POS to a target of street envy! Well done 🏁
Thanks sir, love seeing this stuff !!
Glad you enjoy it!
The sand blasting part of these videos has to be one of the most satisfying things on RUclips today!
Fantastic job! I really dig the color of purple and black together. 👍👍

Over the top restoration, the paint job is spectacular, especially the detail paint from underneath, the interior of the motor and passenger areas, and love the fact that you painted the undercarriage, keep up the great work, can't wait for your next video
Thank you very much!
Turned out great but a General Lee build would have been amazing
That's the same I thought
Amei seu trabalho vc não tem medo de usar sua imaginação ao usar cores diferentes isso é arte , parabéns.

Great restoration, TRG. The color was beautiful.
Thank you very much!
Very sharp restoration. Love the color choices.
Thank you very much!
That was awesome
I am SO glad that you DIDN'T make another General Lee. That's been done to death. On the other hand, this one turned out amazing. The only way it could be any better would be if it was a full size car. (I can almost hear that Hemi!)
