the difference between being a hoarder and being prepared is organization! you are so organized!! love the case with the extras. and the pitting almost makes it look like a sculpture. lovely work. 5 ad breaks, 10 ads, 2 skippable.
My inability to find one rough enough to justify taking it apart to restore amazes me. No idea where these guys keep finding all these super rough trucks.
Even though I know that there's no danger to me seeing someone welding in a video, I always look away lmao. My parents got really into a welding class when I was a kid and hammered it into my brain a little too hard. Love the final look! Straight restos are cool but I also love seeing your creativity!
I dig this. Love the polishing of the body. The overall theme gives me the vibe of a truck that would be on someone’s desk (desk art), or part of a trophy / award. The outcome is quite fun. Good job!
One of my favorite shows that used to be on Motor Trend was Vegas Rat Rods or something like that and they made some of the coolest rat rods out there. This resto Tim is right up there with those "Ratties" for sure.👍🍻✌
Very very cool. After seeing the polish and clear coat - I think that looks better than the super chrome. And I think a flat color would have looked better than the brass....I think a flat black would have looked really cool. Definitely the rusty white wall look best. Very very cool!
I really like what you did with this. Sometimes it’s good to do something different with them. Keep up the great work you are doing. And thanks for another great video.
This turned out great, good job. You could do a rust converter on some rusty parts and then clear over that like some rat rodders have done. Also you could try shoe polish on the white walls to see if they can be stained to the look you want. Might take some trail and error to get it to work right.
Very bad ass!! Love it!! It's cool to see the stuff be put back to original however, making it your own and doing something different, taking something old and adding a little bit of a modern twist old twist to it is awesome to see
Watching you do this is so calming. I want to learn how to do this. I have an old metal noisemaker, the crank handle kind, that needs to be restored. I need to learn this skill.
I found some very realistic tires that are a perfect scale for these trucks, I'm working on getting a mold of them to make a bunch of copies :) I agree, tires for these toys are really lacking.
Hey Tim, thanks for share another job! Can I be honest with you? I remember when you did other Tonka truck with lights and that one was an amazing job. This time the welding of the roof got weird. But don't give up, you are the best toy restorer of the youtube. Greetings from Chile.
Color isn't my favorite, but I love this thing! It'd look really good in a painted rust-like finish, IMO On another note, this thing would be siiiiick with a trailer made in the same style
Well , that actually turned out pretty good. The pitting on that thing would have taken a bucket of bondo and hours of sanding to get rid of. Enjoyed the video and looking forward to your next one.
I just subscribed and I'm catching up on past videos. The powder-coating is next level and it's something I'm considering. Would you mind sharing the specifics of your set-up? Thanks!
Today, TRG and Chip Channel videos. Great Sunday. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Bad ass!!! Nice sticker too!

The seemingly unending supply of super rusty Tonka trucks amazes me

Your right it is different, also really cool.
Looks Bad Ass... very nice! 🤩👍👍👊
Excellent job
Fantastic, what a great result. Always loved the Rat Rod look. Great video, thanks for sharing 🙂
Many thanks!
It takes a special ‘something’ to mod stock vehicles. Doesn’t matter if it’s a toy or a full-size car; KUDOS Joe!
I absolutly like it !
Don’t think I’ve actually seen a Patina build, nice job!
Cool Rat Rod Tim🙂
How creative! Very nice customize!
Reminds of that scene from 'Animal House' where D Day is chopping up the 1964 Lincoln.
Concept very cool, execution awesome, color eeeeh.
Really cool
Good call , nice work
I love watching the entire process - thank you! ✌🏻🎨☕️
Hell yeah. You need to do more custom rods nd rat rods. 👍
One of my favorite shows that used to be on Motor Trend was Vegas Rat Rods or something like that and they made some of the coolest rat rods out there. This resto Tim is right up there with those "Ratties" for sure.👍🍻✌
Sweet!!
Looks cool well done.
What a machine!
Well done very good 👍
It needs stack exhausts! An outstanding Rat-Rod for the collection.

6:05-6:13 LIIIIIIIIIIIIKE IT!
SOOO KOOOOOLLLLL !!!
Such vision, nice build, cheers!
Great idea and wonderfully executed!
Rat Rod Ronka. Makes me imagine a gear head kid in a commercial making revving noises.
Estupendo resultado de este proyecto Tonka Rat Rod, respetos desde Venezuela.💯🤜🔥🤛👍👍🙏💯
Great job on tonka rat rod custom restoration trg restoration 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎

Excellent bravo👍👍👍👍👍💥
Love the design. The color is not my vibe but still it’s awesome.
Very kool
That absolutely looks damn good 👍🏼
Great way to save what some would see as trash. I take on many basket case 1:64 cars just to try and save them!
A grinder and paint make me the welder I ain’t. 😂😂😂😂
That is freakin awesome! Now it needs the other half! Great work!👏
Cool project 👍great job buddy as always 👍
Very very cool. After seeing the polish and clear coat - I think that looks better than the super chrome. And I think a flat color would have looked better than the brass....I think a flat black would have looked really cool. Definitely the rusty white wall look best.
Very very cool!
Not a whole lot of head room there! Lol!
So good!!!! I was asking for an original and you delivered!!!!
It´s a nice work!!, like for you.
Cool! Now you just need a nice trailer. To match the truck!
I really like what you did with this. Sometimes it’s good to do something different with them. Keep up the great work you are doing. And thanks for another great video.
Talk about celebrating a patina! This is an odd one, but I like it.
Bob Rossi would love it!
lol thanks!
I like where you're going with this
Hello TRG beautiful restoration
Hello 👋

Looks awesome mate. Great video as always 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks 👍

A.V.E : Sandpaper and paint make me the welder I ain't . :D
Its cool

Dope💯
Thank you! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
cool video again. Now that it's not original it's much more fun. greetings from the Netherlands.
Now you need to RC this one with a high speed kit.
**the lights was a nice touch!!!**
I’ve been waiting for something this damn cool. Keep up the good work.
Someone needs to make some Hot Rod type tires and wheels this scale. Cool build.
I found some very realistic tires that are a perfect scale for these trucks, I'm working on getting a mold of them to make a bunch of copies :) I agree, tires for these toys are really lacking.
Excelente muy bueno
Grinder and paint makes you the welder you ain't.
Judging by what appears to be a siren on the front fender, I'd say this started life as a hook and ladder truck
I'm diggin' the rat rod look.
There was a car show over in Morro Bay, CA a couple years ago and there were several there. Very cool.
Bob Ross never Die!

Interesting creative job. The paint job is neat and the lights are just the right touch. Carol from California
Look at that it's complete destroy it already broke, i passed the time the Wheel look dirty 😏🛠🛻 "Another one bites the dust" 😎🎙
It was originally a ladder fire truck, but it looks better as a customized rat rod.
I don't think it was too far gone to restore, but I dig the custom look. Needs some pinstriping to finish it off.
Really enjoyed it. Real cool looking. Just wish you would make a full interior for one. With your talent it should be easy and very cool looking!
Color isn't my favorite, but I love this thing! It'd look really good in a painted rust-like finish, IMO
On another note, this thing would be siiiiick with a trailer made in the same style
I was hoping for you to pick the rusty white walls over the bright white ones. Looks AWESOME!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
How often do you have to change the sand in your sand blaster?
13:36 R.I.P. Bob Ross!
Well , that actually turned out pretty good. The pitting on that thing would have taken a bucket of bondo and hours of sanding to get rid of. Enjoyed the video and looking forward to your next one.
I did something very similar, except painted, with a mighty tonka about 15 years ago.
Pretty bada$$
I just subscribed and I'm catching up on past videos. The powder-coating is next level and it's something I'm considering. Would you mind sharing the specifics of your set-up? Thanks!
More!
Nice resto-mod, looks great. I'm not a fan of the chop top since I wouldn't fit in there! Love the patina. Can I borrow your blast cabinet!
Now you need to do a custom trailer and a rat rod dune buggy or Motorcycle to tow behind it
