She was slighty flanderized in Heroes. It wasn't until Lost World where she became a more mature character. At least she is now able to have a friendly conversation with Sonic, unlike previous games.
Paula Rodriguez its like if she’s slowly growing up from the little 8 yr old fan girl into a mature heroine who still loves Sonic From what it looks like it feels like time progresses through each game and with each game Amy’s personality improves
I like how there's those rare moments where Sonic show's he actually cares/has feelings for Amy. Such as in Unleashed, when he gets really upset when she doesn't know it's him. He can't even look her in the eyes, because it hurt him that bad.

Tails even had difficulty recognizing Sonic as shown in the Scene where he saves him in Apotos. Even townsfolk get shocked when they see him in day and night because of the difference between the two forms.
Will Wallables That makes sense, but let’s be honest, he would’ve been more upset about Tails if that were the case. Tails is practically his younger brother, and that would crush you if someone that close didn’t recognize you. So that’s why I consider the way he acted about Amy being more represented by him actually liking her than him not liking the form.

It annoys him that she keeps on trying make him submit to a commitment that he doesn't want to get into, which explains why he always runs from her, not because he's shy. He prefers to stay more single and free.

Even if they get married they can always roll around at the speed of sound. Honestly Amy's story is one of pure determination. Motivated exclusively by a desire to effectively chase her love interest on foot she DEVELOPS SUPER SPEED. Unlike every other character, she didn't start out with it nor does she have a propulsion method. She literally just pushed herself until she could travel at speeds nearing or exceeding that of fucking sound. Couple this with her skilled use of that hammer (and the fact that she could store it in hammerspace) and you have one of the sonic franchises few generalist characters. She is just as fast as she is strong, and is within the top five in both.
Yeah, Amy Rose's the Normal Badass - also, she's the only hedgehog don't going Super Hedgehog, in where Sonic, Shadow, and Silver all went Super Hedgehogs (thanks to Sonic'06).
But Sonic still won't love her that way... (sorry but really there are really too many bad moments between them for them to ever become more than friends.)

I love how unique Sonic and Amy's relationship is compared to many other characters' in other media. I've always loved them since I was small, and I find their kind hearted, well meaning, compassionate and adventuring ways to be simply inspiring. Wholesome kindred spirits, as free as the wind.

after having seen this video i can understand why Sonic runs away almost everytime he sees Amy, but sometimes on rare occasions he does show feelings for her, in Sonic Unleashed he reached out for Amy when she didn't reaconize him and he ran of after saving her cause he didn't want her to see him as a half-hedgehog half-wolf, in Sonic and the Black Knight he encountered a different version of Amy and for a moment it seemed like he showed some interest in her because she wasn't being an overobsessed fangirl and in Sonic Lost World Sonic was crestfallen at the thought of Amy dying because of the extractor, up until today Sonic is still running from Amy as fast as he can, but she has shown some improvement in the fact that she seems a little less crazy about him now, in my personal theory i believe that if Amy stops trying to force Sonic into loving her and just be herself Sonic might develop stronger feelings for her and they'll finally be together...

I have a feeling Sonic just runs away from her because she's been clingy since their childhood but if Amy wouldn't be like that Sonic would be interested in her. Sonic Boom was definitely a development in Amy's point of view since she wasn't that clingy and acted more like an adult but she still has a long way to go.

It’s nice to see how much she’s matured over the games. I, personally, have always liked Amy, but she was pretty annoying in her persistence in the early games. But now she’s proven to be really pure-hearted... it’s really sweet.
Everytime Amy talks to Sonic, I know he will responding all grimly and spoilsport. The old games are still better. He should be more nice to Amy. She done so many good things for him. Her own adventures experiences and rescuing him. Sonic actually showed being shy but does have feelings for her. Now he pushes her with his hand on her face. He got to be not sympathic and egoistic now. Its not the Sonic we know anymore.
I don't know why people hate sonamy because Amy is just crazy for Sonic and he'll never give her the attention she wants. Well, besides the stuff going on with Sonic boom, consider the talk they have on Sonic Chronicles, Sonic clearly says He cares for hher a lot, she just says she's very happy to hear it. I believe they have some great chemistry that could be developed, and Sega has the potential to do that.

there have been hints of something of a crush between the two in Sonic Boom TV show. With Amy it is apparent, but she is shy. With Sonic there had been 3 moments of something of him for her: In S1, Tails built a robot that translated what a person's words actually meant, and during the final fight, as Sonic saves Amy, he said are you okay, UT translates it "I'm concern for your well being!". The other was when Amy was prepping for a visit (Dr. Eggman as the two were secret fans of a Dog figurine Toy-line) and had snacks in the living room, the gang spy on her and Knuckles said she was going to have a date, Sonic has a near break down, stuttering and visibly jealous. This is was the well known Script read the cast made in the Convention prior to the shows release. The other time is an intruder enters to a TV Station (a new Dr. Eggman Robot), and Sticks goes to tell Sonic - When she makes it to his hut he is at sleep and tries to wake him, he dream talks about " what did you said, Sugar Plums", to which Sticks replies "Don't call me Sugar Plum, I'm not Amy!" It is important to note, Stick is the crazy conspiracy theory driven one, and most of the time, she ends up been right. But, Sonic, been Sonic, is very apathetic or too shy to talk about feelings - it is interesting they are toying with this, as you cannot have an actual official romantic relation among Sonic Character or OCs from a specific line, not even a hint, unless Sega allows it. This is a direct consequences from the Peddlers Lawsuit for the rights of some of the characters in the Sonic Archie Comics, and one of the characters that was lost, Mina the Mongoose, was courtship by Sonic for a time.

after having seen this video i can understand why Sonic runs away almost everytime he sees Amy, but sometimes on rare occasions he does show feelings for her, in Sonic Unleashed he reached out for Amy when she didn't reaconize him and he ran of after saving her cause he didn't want her to see him as a half-hedgehog half-wolf, in Sonic and the Black Knight he encountered a different version of Amy and for a moment it seemed like he showed some interest in her because she wasn't being an overobsessed fangirl and in Sonic Lost World Sonic was crestfallen at the thought of Amy dying because of the extractor, up until today Sonic is still running from Amy as fast as he can, but she has shown some improvement in the fact that she seems a little less crazy about him now, in my personal theory i believe that if Amy stops trying to force Sonic into loving her and just be herself Sonic might develop stronger feelings for her and they'll finally be together...
Omg I agree with you so much. I can't wait when they make Amy a little more mature and not this childish. I have a feeling Sonic just runs away from her because she's been clingy since their childhood but if Amy wouldn't be like that Sonic would be interested in her. Sonic Boom was definitely a development in Amy's point of view since she wasn't that clingy and acted more like an adult but she still has a long way to go.

It’s nice to see how much she’s matured over the games. I, personally, have always liked Amy, but she was pretty annoying in her persistence in the early games. But now she’s proven to be really pure-hearted... it’s really sweet.
Everytime Amy talks to Sonic, I know he will responding all grimly and spoilsport. The old games are still better. He should be more nice to Amy. She done so many good things for him. Her own adventures experiences and rescuing him. Sonic actually showed being shy but does have feelings for her. Now he pushes her with his hand on her face. He got to be not sympathic and egoistic now. Its not the Sonic we know anymore.

I don't know why people hate sonamy because Amy is just crazy for Sonic and he'll never give her the attention she wants. Well, besides the stuff going on with Sonic boom, consider the talk they have on Sonic Chronicles, Sonic clearly says He cares for hher a lot, she just says she's very happy to hear it.
I believe they have some great chemistry that could be developed, and Sega has the potential to do that.
Amy was made to be Sonic's Fangirl, that's all. Many years passed already, i don't think it's going to be a thing.

there have been hints of something of a crush between the two in Sonic Boom TV show. With Amy it is apparent, but she is shy. With Sonic there had been 3 moments of something of him for her:
In S1, Tails built a robot that translated what a person's words actually meant, and during the final fight, as Sonic saves Amy, he said are you okay, UT translates it "I'm concern for your well being!".
The other was when Amy was prepping for a visit (Dr. Eggman as the two were secret fans of a Dog figurine Toy-line) and had snacks in the living room, the gang spy on her and Knuckles said she was going to have a date, Sonic has a near break down, stuttering and visibly jealous. This is was the well known Script read the cast made in the Convention prior to the shows release.
The other time is an intruder enters to a TV Station (a new Dr. Eggman Robot), and Sticks goes to tell Sonic - When she makes it to his hut he is at sleep and tries to wake him, he dream talks about " what did you said, Sugar Plums", to which Sticks replies "Don't call me Sugar Plum, I'm not Amy!" It is important to note, Stick is the crazy conspiracy theory driven one, and most of the time, she ends up been right.
But, Sonic, been Sonic, is very apathetic or too shy to talk about feelings - it is interesting they are toying with this, as you cannot have an actual official romantic relation among Sonic Character or OCs from a specific line, not even a hint, unless Sega allows it. This is a direct consequences from the Peddlers Lawsuit for the rights of some of the characters in the Sonic Archie Comics, and one of the characters that was lost, Mina the Mongoose, was courtship by Sonic for a time.
