      i fast 1-2x per week and am primarily Carnivore with a touch of Keto. .. I'm glad they are giving you $$$. but when you are in Ketosis.. YOU KNOW you are in Ketosis; You don't need to pay some company for a product to verify what you already know. Meh, maybe some of you need it? but, why? you're on the diet = you're in Ketosis. If you dont follow the diet = you are NOT in ketosis.

      There is no “usual.” I eat when I’m hungry. I would say most common is 2MAD, lunch and supper. But I don’t have a routine.

    I've always been told to eat every few hours as it keeps you metabolism going! I happened upon a video only a few weeks ago that said it's better to eat just once to 3 times a day! I've completely stopped the 5 small meals/snacks every 2hrs between 11am-7pm and I'm now trying to eat just once or twice a day with a bulletproof coffee to stretch my fast longer still! I almost feel like I'm doing something wrong by going against what's been ingrained into me for the past 15years! I even feel anxious to this day for eating natural fats, as almost every "diet" tells you they're "bad for you!" Lazy keto has completely changed my outlook on nutrition!

      Don't worry you're not alone. So many of us had the "food pyramid" shoved into our subconscious that we feel like we are doing something wrong when doing keto and IF. For me all the info put there had gotten me confused and overwhelmed. So once I started watching Kait it's been easier to understand keto and IF. She also helps alot of us not give up if we mess up. Good luck, you're going to do great!!!

    Thanks Kait. I do cycle between dry fasts (14-hours) twice a week, OMAD three times a week, and no fast (with a little more healthy carbs) about two days a week.
    Once a month I do 3-5 day prolonged fasts but I take my electrolytes.
    I combine that with walking daily and resistance/strength training twice a week.
    So far, this system yielded the best results for me.
    For context, I've been doing IF/Keto on and off for a couple of years and have plateaued real hard.
    This new system seems to get me the results I've been looking for.
    Hope that inspires others to try what works for them. Good luck!

    I like to vary my fasting window, most of the time is 18:6, sometimes it's 20:4 and on weekend maybe 16:8.
    I like to be flexible as it's a lifestyle to enjoy social occassions, a surprise, or just life in general 🤓

    My intermitent fasting routine got pretty strict, I follow the 1pm-8pm schedule. It fits my lifestyle really well. Even through the christmas seasona and all the family gatherings I allowed myself to eat crap but I stuck to my routine. It helps me mentally, frames my day and keeps me consistent. I also noticed that as long as I keep my fast and dont snack I dont gain weight despite not counting calories. It is amazing for me since I had insulin resistance and looking at my metabolsim now I think Ive reversed it. Keep up the good work Kait ! 😊

    Hi Kait. I started IF about 4 months ago. It took me 2 months to move from 12:12 to 16:8 then another month to move from 16:8 to 18:6 but then I started to feel cravings big time. I was stressed for a few days as I thought I was going backward but watching your videos make me understand that hormones have a mind of their own (especially for women) so I just let it go naturally. Now I mainly fast 17 hours in average, with some days around 14-15 hours and some days 18 hours. I do try to prolong the fast by drinking some water or go for a walk, and after 30 minutes or 1 hours, if I still feel hungry, I would break the fast, even just 15 hours.

    Hi, I’m on a carnivore diet and been on it just about a year. I started at 460 lbs and have lost 70 lbs . I have hit a wall for about 4 weeks only losing 3 lbs in that time. My question is what can I do to get my weight lose going again. I eat 2 times a day around noon and 6 pm. Would I do better if I cut down to eating once a day around 3? I fell great and love the diet. All information gone out of my legs. And I walk everyday. Thanks for your help.

    I generally do a 16:8 IF but add for flexibility. If I drink water and still feel very hungry, then I eat. Lately I’ve only been fasting for around 12 hrs and I can definitely tell a difference! Something that keeps me comfortable for 16hr fasts is making sure I have enough water. If I don’t, it’s generally a struggle

    Most days I do OMAD and I like to throw in an extended 24-48 hour fast once a week. My work schedule has changed, so I’ve been eating my OMAD meal earlier in the day, around 2:00-2:30. So far, that’s working pretty well. Sometimes I want a little something in the evening when I get home so I’ll eat something small like a couple of strips of bacon or a bit of cheese.

    I normally do a 16:8 but I have a yearly physical coming up on 2/2 so I've been trying to do 5 days OMAD/1 day 16:8 leading up to it. I've got to admit, it's been hard but I did lose 3 pounds in the first week. What helps to make it hard is being stuck indoors during the subzero weather we are experiencing here in Wisconsin now. Maybe I could shorten the OMAD days with some more regular 16:8 days. But I am getting hungry in the last 6 hours before an OMAD meal.

      Yes, I agree. Winter is not the best time of year for losing weight. There are some great short workouts on the Bob & Brad channel called "workouts with Jordan" which I find keep me motivated and in a positive frame of mind. Just a five minute workout is enough to lift your spirits and help you deal with the cold and the resulting temptation to eat before you really wanted to. That's my tip. I hope it helps!

  • @LDQBBQ

    I typically do about 21:3 daily. It works well. I usually fast this way 3 or 4 days a week and I've had great results. I eat healthily on my fasting days and incorporate a lot of protein, but on my off days I eat "normally" without worrying about dieting. That's not to say I pound junk and fast food, but rather allow myself social meals at restaurants. I don't intentionally overeat, but if I do occasionally I don't get hung up on it because fasting is a lifestyle, and whatever mistakes I make are quickly smoothed out. Pizza is a special treat during periods of healthy weight loss, and I avoid other big carb or sugary meals as much as possible. With exercise I've lost 46 lbs this year from 190 to 144. I'm a 39 year old male who's 5'6".

    I have been low carb to keto for over 5 years. I try to keep my carbs under 25 grams a day, but sometimes slip up to 50 grams a day. For a bout 2-3 years I have been intermittent fasting with an eating window from around noon to around 6 PM. Since I am retired, I do not pay much attention to the clock. My biggest issue is that a couple of times a week, I enjoy a glass of dry red wine. That is just a compromise that I make with myself.
    Thanks for all of your hard work, Kait.

    I just started my fasting routine and I already feel so much better. It really is amazing. I've already lost 9lbs in 5 days with little to no effort. I just follow the window, eat higher protein/lower carb and sugar foods, and I make sure I am not over-eating during this time frame. I struggle with binge eating disorder and being on a super restrictive diet has not been working due to the mental aspect of it. What I like about this is it's not so much a diet as it is a reorganization of eating habits, which is exactly what I need with where I'm at. I originally set a goal of 14/10, but just by way of my daily routine, it ends up being more like a 16/8. Thanks for the great info!

    I'm new to this but after being fed up with my gut health, I decided to go carnivore. Been trying to maintain it for about 2 weeks now with some blueberries here and there. My gut has felt the best it has ever. I've suffered from gerd I think my entire life with no help no matter how much I tried. What I noticed is I indulged a little with the blueberries today, and suddenly I was ravishingly hungry at lunch. I have been eating the same amount of meat and have been satiated every day. Until today. I also had gerd symptoms come back. Could this have to do with a blood sugar and insulin spike possibly? Just trying to understand what is happening. Edit: also thank you for the videos. Does coffee with ghee and Real Salt break a fast? I need a little something in the mornings.
    I try not to focus too much on the time/hours or I become fanatical. I just go with what my body is telling me. Some days, I’m not hungry till noon or 1:00 pm, other days I’m hungry earlier.
    I’m 71 and a “Floxie” (adverse drug reaction to fluoroquinoline family of antibiotics), which damage can affect the body in different ways. I believe mine affected my mitochondria, so I have to be careful how long I fast and how low I drop my carbs. Otherwise, I have even less energy than normal. I also find it works best if I switch up daily. Carnivore one day, ketovore the next.

    I am doing 18 hour fasting, but possibly making a mistake adding
    sugar free creamer to my coffee in the morning.
    Will this knock me out of ketosis?

    Hey Doctor My A1C Is 5.2 But For A Week I’ve Been Having Sweet Saliva In Mouth And Waking Up To Urinate 2 Or 3 Times A Night, Also My Urine Has Bubbles But NO PROTEIN. There’s no glucose in the urine either. I Also Wake Up Twice To Urinate. My Lab Results Are All Normal Except My Cholesterol Which Is High. I Also Get These Strange Burning Sensations On My Thighs And Forehead After They Gave Me A Brain CT Scan I Didn’t Need. What could be causing the sweetness in my mouth?

    Do you have to always maintain the same times. If I do the 16:8 ratio, can I adjust the times as needed.

    I started intermittent fasting with 14 hours of fasting. If I do it for longer, I am getting headache, dizziness, heart palpitations and trembling 🙄 My body wants a good breakfast and also dinner 😅 I'm not keto and eat about 150-200g of carbs per Day. I read that 14h for women has the same benefits like 16h for men?

    • @sumrandumguy7177

      Eating 200g of carbs a day would explain why you have those symptoms. As soon as your liver glycogen runs out your body is being starved of glucose; your carb-heavy diet is making you completely reliant/dependant on them

    I’ve been Keto for 4 yrs to maintain my 120 lb loss 7 yrs ago. You can gain on Keto if not careful, hence 20 lbs on during lockdown. Trying to lose it now & eating carnivore but also trying to do OMAD. Since I had VSG 8 yrs ago my concern is not getting enough during that one meal?

    • @HealthCoachKait
      @HealthCoachKait  2 года назад

      Ya I find it can be hard to eat enough doing OMAD. I find for most people 2MAD is the sweet spot ❤️

      It depends on your goals ♥️ But ya for autophagy and healing then better to avoid. But don't think of it as messing up! You are still going to be getting benefits.

    I wish this worked for me but if I fast for 8 or more hours and then eat anything my digestion goes crazy on me and then I'm in the bathroom for hours. I don't have any problem fasting and I've tried eating different things and different amounts like low fat, small amounts and this still happens. UG! why? I don't have any health problems.

    • @HealthCoachKait
      @HealthCoachKait  2 года назад +1

      What are you breaking your fast with? Break it with something gentle like bone broth.

    • @piperlynne1
      @piperlynne1 2 года назад

      @@HealthCoachKait Done that and it still happens. I've tried a bunch of different foods in varying amounts and I still end up with problems so I've given up intermittent fasting. I think that some people's bodies just don't tolerate fasting well even though I can easily fast for 16 hours when I go back to eating, no matter what I've tried I always end up with messed up digestion after. I guess it's not for everyone.
