Your video is the best I have seen on fasting. I have been fasting for one 34 hour period each week for the past 2 years. It has become a habit and I feel very good.
I've been fasting for just over 2 years now was doing omad Iv gone from weighting 88kg to 59kg. I'm on my first week a adf feeling great. Love my new life style. Fasting is great I would never go back to constantly eating. Longest fast I've done has been 52 hours. Loved your video just found your channel. New sub! 😀
I started 2024 with lifestyle changes. - So far this has included a 24 hour fast. -- today i'm going for a 36 hour fast to see what the impact on my weight will be. -- the main benefit from the one fast I did, - It has been easy to go into intermittent fasting, I have lost cravings for a lot of food including takeaways. I made the decision to change my lifestyle after becoming very stressed and anxious as well as being obese since 2020- a few walks cured that mental state -- i'm still struggling with sleep.. so that's next on my to do list!
I do a bulletproof coffee at 10am eat 1 meal at 730pm and drink nothing but water. Been repeating this every day for weeks to reverse insulin resistance. Great results so far
I'm not fasting on a daily basis like I did to lose all my weight, 16:8 & 20:4. Now I mostly do extended fasting weekly, monthly, quarterly. I have seen as we get older the extended fast help us more, I'm 56. Thanks for a great video on all the benefits and timing! 🥰
As of now I’m at 24h & 54m. I started fasting on Wednesday 12/29 at 9pm and I want to continue through Monday morning at 8am (107hrs.) watching videos like this kept to keep me motivated. The reason for my fast is because I want to “reset “ my body for the new year. I’ve been suffering from borderline anemia, sinusitis, lethargy, and lack of energy. I hope that this fast will lead me in the right direction. 💪🏽
I’m still trying to gather my fasting lifestyle together. I realized this year that my body LOVES fasting. When I look and feel bloated, nothing helps except a total fast. I have digestive issues as well, and it really assists with that. I’m a teacher, so over the summer holiday, I did some complete fasting (7 days water fast, 5 days dry fast). I felt great. I am currently on school winter holiday so doing a 72-hour fast before Christmas. In the New Year, I would like my fasting schedule to be alternate day fasting, with a 48-hour fast weekly or every 2 weeks. I personally don’t need to eat every day, because my body still has fuel left over from the previous day, and even a 24-hour fast helps me feel fantastic. Thanks for the video.
Im Currently doing alternate day fasting combined with my keto lifestyle on my eat days... today was day 23 and im down about 8 lbs that seems a little slow considering a still have about 40 pounds to lose but im sticking with it ! Overall im down 43 lbs from my heaviest weight and its all thanks to keto and fasting
I wouldn’t want to lose any faster than that. It gives time for skin and body to adapt. When you think how long it takes to put on, it’s pretty fast still at coming off. I see your comment was a year ago, how did you get on in the end?
Thank you Kait. The video is short, very clear detailed explanation. I did all different IF cycles, 16/8, 18/6, OMAD, rotated. Recently I stopped for awhile because I am getting too thin, 18 BMI . I have to agree fasting provided fast results if it combine with good diet and fitness activities. My arthritis improved significantly, skin smoother no need make up and face cream, hair became thicker growing faster and shiny. My apnea stopped . Entire body is tone and lean. Just love it. I look now perfect in jeans and bikini. Just let you know, I am 69 years old. Exercise daily all my life, eat healthy and intermittent fasting the past 6 months. Happy New Year ❣️
Real testimony: I didn’t eat for a week (Sunday to Sunday, 168 hours), just water. I lost 9 pounds. By day five I had bradycardia and I felt very weak. The worst part came after I finished the fasting. My parotids got swollen due to lack of saliva flow during the fasting. It took me almost five days to recover from that painful condition. Would I repeat it? Nope. But now I know the sweet spot for extended fasting is 72 hours. I'm doing it every three months.
I've been intermittent fasting since 2020. I have lost 40 pounds and stopped taking metformin. My blood sugar is almost completely normal. I have seen some interesting reverse aging effects, as well. I don't do full keto, but order fruit instead of bread, avoid processed sugar, and never drink calories. I normally don't eat breakfast, and will typically eat either lunch and dinner, or just one. I have noticed that it's important for me to have at least one day a week when I eat a lot, otherwise my metabolism slows down and defeats the whole purpose. I also try to do an extended fast at least once a year; I'm currently about 42 hours in, and seeing if I can go a full three days.
Currently doing fast 36ish followed by 24ish and then repeating - I did once manage 54 but not recently - I trying to reverse insulin resistance - great video thank you
I started with 16:8 (for one day), then went to 18:6 for 5 days. Took two days off and now I’m on 20:4. I did one 24 hour fast this week and one 22 hour fast. I’m playing with it a lot, and only fast Monday-Friday. So far I have lost 6lbs. I finally feel like I found something that works for weight loss. 🙌 I will make this a lifestyle. I feel amazing and I’m losing weight. Win win. For reference, I’m 5’7 and my starting weight was 154lbs. I don’t eat fast food or anything fried and I don’t drink soda. Other than that, I eat whatever I want during my eating window. I’ll incorporate exercise next week and hopefully see more results.
Just today I experienced my first 16 hour fast. during the 12th hour I was already feeling hungry but as I kept drinking water the hunger went away after an hour and I felt fine. :)
I am 47 hours into an extended fast. I'm drinking water, I've had 1 coffee with a splash of oat milk, I'm drinking reboundfx from youngevity for my electrolytes, and feeling great. I intend to end my fast Thursday evening. Love your video and personality. Thank you 😊
Thanks for this. I have been doing I.F. and Prolonged fasts for the past couple of years. I love how clear this was, so I can share it with my friends who are newbies to it, and don't believe it works or just don't see too many benefits.... But does!
I really enjoy your videos. You should write a book. I'm 72 year old male, have metabolic syndrome and have been intermitten fasting for about 2 weeks now and have already began to feel different and notice my clothes are fitting looser. First weigh in is tomorrow 4/29/2024. Mine is 20/4 hrs and the reason I do 20/4 is I hate to go bed with full stomach so my last meal is around 4 pm and it has time to leave my stomach which help me sleep better. No indigestion, no heartburn or reflux. Just sleep. About to attempt an extended fast. Thank you again
I’m 39 hours into my 48 hour fast. This is my first time fasting longer than 20 hours, and I am surprised that I don’t feel hungry at all. I’m craving food but I don’t physically feel that my body needs it, no stomach growling or fatigue. I feel like I could easily go for 3 days but I’m going to take it slowly for my first time.
I started intermittent fasting in January. I am doing custom where I switch up between 12 and 24 hours. I'm also working on throwing in extended fasts. 39 hours being my longest so far. I've recently started doing keto, but on certain weeks, more like carb cycling. I'm working my way up to be able to do a 3 day fast. I drink a lot of herbal teas during those times to still get micronutrients and to stay hydrated. I'm a bit insulin resistant so I am working to become insulin sensitive again.
When I started on the Keto diet I also started intermediate fasting. I was losing weight so quickly that I stopped the fasting.😁 I will return to it though as I want to get my insulin doses down to zero.
I've started carnivore for over 2 weeks now and regarding meal time, I'm fluctuating between OMAD and two meals a day (lunch & dinner) because some days I work out quite hard and I don't want to lose the hard-earned muscle mass by not eating enough protein. About last month I suspected myself being insulin resistant due to signs like skin tags on the neck, puffy eyes, and frequent urination at night, so I set a goal to be more mindful with my diet. Fortunately I had been doing IF by skipping breakfast and eating low carb, high-protein, high-fiber for almost 2 years so switching to carnivore is not too difficult except the part where I can eat all the animal fat I want. That takes some getting used to but so far I'm doing fine. My longest iF was about 30 hrs, during which I felt great. I only had to break it because I was cooking for my mom and had to taste the food, so I felt like I might just as well have a meal right then. Will be sticking to this current pattern of eating for months to come since I've seen so many benefits with my overall health and physique.
I have fasted on and off for years but lately I have been doing 16/8 regularly but went to 17 yesterday. Going to gradually increase especially over the weekends.
I have done intermittent fasting since i was a teen but back then i didnt know it was a thing. Now as an adult i started to do fasting again and it was hard at first but as time went on it has gotten easier, i am glad i do intermittent fasting nowadays for my health but my goal is to switch from doing 16/8 fasting to 18/6 fasting on a regular basis. Wish me luck
I just did a 9-day water (herb tea and coffee with water) fast! WOO HOO on the benefits besides getting back to my goal weight!!! I've done a 3-day dry fast before with awesome results.
I just did a 48 hour fast 3 days ago. Want to do 72 hours to fix my insulin sensitivity, but that is when it is the most difficult time. It takes a lot of planning for busy people because the tough time which comes on the 2nd and 3rd day will affect your work negatively. I could not finish what I wanted to do and I had to lie down several times after my 40th hour.
Bro, what are the results? Did you continue doing that? I am also insulin resistant with busy work schedule. I want to try fasting, tell me if your insulin resistance go away?
I have started fasting every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday till around 2pm. So I do 62 hour fast. I have done this for the last 4 weeks and have lost nearly 10kg. My last meal is on Monday at 10pm. and my first meal after the fast is on Thursday at 2pm.
Usually I do a noon to 5 eat window, but today I've decided to do a long one. Probably 41 hours...the trigger was eating Halloween candy. I just felt so crappy, I've gained a really insidious 15lbs...and now at the age where it's important to think atophagy...Thanks for the incite full video
Recently I started a weekly 120 hour rolling fast. I start fasting Sunday afternoon and fast until Friday afternoon, then eat one meal each day on the weekends and start all over again Sunday.
Thank you for this video. Doctors over the years have told me there is no cure for type 2 diabetes. I have been intermittent fasting for the last couple of years. Thanks to this video I now have a better plan on how I will continue my intermittent fasting practices. Like and a thumbs up. Bill from Edmonton.
Completed my first 72 hours fast and feel amazing! The last 6 hours I did start developing a headache but think this was due to lack of electrolytes. I am planning to do another 72 hour fast this coming weekend but this time make sure I get my electrolytes in as well.
I just finished 60 hours fast. Feeling great. Goal to lower inflammation: lowered a lot already. Also helped me to get rid of carb cravings. Broke the fast with fruit juice and some fresh delicious beef carpaccio. Coffee helped me through some difficult hours around the end of day 2 between 40 and 45 hours. I became cold and a bit downish. I had to go through some carb detoxing I suppose.
Thank you Coach Kait. I started 18/6 compressed eating and low carbs/zero sugar a week ago. Lost 10 lbs from waist and lowered BP from 144/80 to 121/68, Doing a 48 hour water fast right now, added only some sea salt, magnesium, and potassium to the water.
I generally do 16/8, 24 hours on Wednesday, then after my last meal on Saturday I fast 40 hours until my first meal on Monday. I fast for health benefits and not weight loss because I don't need to lose more weight and have maintained my weight loss for 8 months now. Keto is now my lifestyle and I'm on cruise control and have not cheated (I hate that word because it seems judgmental since I started nearly a year ago.
Maybe it's because you're fasting too much, and your metabolism is starting to slow down to keep balance. For weight loss you should probably not reduce your calories and fast occasionally but strong.
@@SimplyMichelleTV honestly, I don't know. I cannot be a slave to the scale because it is depressing, to me. I am doing PMSF M-F. I started this last week and I can tell the difference. So boring and sometimes I feel sorry for myself. I truly eat to live.
@@marlaenahorn1072 You don't want to be a slave to the scale. OK. So, how do you know it's SLOW? Maybe you're losing visceral fat and don't know it, maybe you lost more pounds than you think. It might not be that slow even if you lose 5 lb. a week. If you weigh yourself just once a week, at least you'd know the weight is going down.
I've been doing fasting for the best part of 5 years and this is a very good video 👍🏼 I would say though that if you're going to go beyond 24 hours you'll need to top up on electrolytes (powder or capsules ) otherwise you'll likely start to feel a bit dizzy. Also, when it comes to breaking an extended fast, eat something small then after 45-60 mins go for a larger meal if you want one. I've made the mistake of having a big meal to break a 36 hour fast and it was very uncomfortable 😆
I just did a 44 hour fast and I broke it with a pound of grass fed beef 85/15 cooked in a half stick of butter, a whole jar of spicy kimchi, a small bowl of mashed potatoes and 4 pieces of sourdough bread with salted irish butter. Later for dessert I had a pound of frozen cherries. But yes on my first extended fast I puked because I ate too quickly.
Twice a year I do a 7 day water fast (Holy Week of Lent and sometime in Oct/Nov). Otherwise I do 18:6 IM and some 48/72 hour fasts during the year. Cancer lives on sugar and I am working hard to prevent the return of the Hodgkin's Lymphoma (diagnosed in 2001). Currently at around 50 hours on my current 72 hour fast. For those getting started, I find that once you're comfortable with IM in the 18:6 or 20:4 range, it's not too hard to go 36 or 48 hours. Once you've done that a couple times, longer fasts don't seem so daunting. Nothing breeds confidence like success so rack up some early wins to prepare for the bigger challenges.
Thanks, I find it difficult to fast. Will start with 18,6 and then 20,4 and further. Do we have absolutely nothing during fast period or are some things allowed to make it easier for beginners?
One thing I found that helped when I was starting was to greatly restrict or remove sugars and carbs a couple days before starting a fast. This seemed to make the transition to not eating easier (probably due to being in light ketosis). I also used to drink diet soda (which I've since cut out completely) during a fast. Coffee is fine (no creams or sugar) and a spritz of lemon or lime in water helps some people. Like everything, you're good at what you practice, so if you keep at it, I think you'll find it gets easier over time. Good luck! Also, if you have any health issues, it would be good to consult with a health professional (which I am NOT) before doing any sort of extended fasting.
Yikes. Too bad I have a function tomorrow or I’d try for 72 hrs. Would two 36hr fasts equal one 72 hr. fasts? I bet you never got that question. I subscribed to your channel. Thank You.

Sometimes eating is used to address an emotional issue. I find other ways to self soothe like walking or art
I do a bulletproof coffee at 10am eat 1 meal at 730pm and drink nothing but water. Been repeating this every day for weeks to reverse insulin resistance. Great results so far
Have you been tracking your insulin?
cocoa is better than coffee

I'm not fasting on a daily basis like I did to lose all my weight, 16:8 & 20:4. Now I mostly do extended fasting weekly, monthly, quarterly. I have seen as we get older the extended fast help us more, I'm 56.
Thanks for a great video on all the benefits and timing! 🥰
Sounds like you have found a good routine Curt! 👏
Any updates? I'm 24hrs in.
What are the results, did you reset yourself?
Best video explaining the fasting process. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I do OMAD daily, and just finished a 48 hour fast. My first one, and it went by great
Im Currently doing alternate day fasting combined with my keto lifestyle on my eat days... today was day 23 and im down about 8 lbs that seems a little slow considering a still have about 40 pounds to lose but im sticking with it !
Happy New Year ❣️
Awesome to hear! Happy New Year Mary! 🥰
You need electrolytes too or a homemade vegetable broth. Black coffee and green tea is a good idea too.
Did you see a doctor about the fasting? Best to see a professional.
Do not ever fast that long without doctor supervision, and electrolytes and minerals included.
Tough.
Currently doing fast 36ish followed by 24ish and then repeating - I did once manage 54 but not recently - I trying to reverse insulin resistance - great video thank you
Hey, Is your insulin reversed?
Great video. Just did a 60 hour fast. Feel fine. 60 hours is my max. Usually do 24-44 hours. ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️
I’m on my 12th days of fast. Im targeting 20 days of fast without food. Will be posting my result here after my 20th day of fast. Wish me luck
You mean you on the 20th day without food?
Just today I experienced my first 16 hour fast. during the 12th hour I was already feeling hungry but as I kept drinking water the hunger went away after an hour and I felt fine. :)
I am 47 hours into an extended fast. I'm drinking water, I've had 1 coffee with a splash of oat milk, I'm drinking reboundfx from youngevity for my electrolytes, and feeling great. I intend to end my fast Thursday evening.
Love your video and personality. Thank you 😊
I like doing 18-22 hours a day. 21-22 is the main time I stop. I love it
👍👍
Thanks for this. I have been doing I.F. and Prolonged fasts for the past couple of years. I love how clear this was, so I can share it with my friends who are newbies to it, and don't believe it works or just don't see too many benefits....
But does!
❤️❤️
LOVE you music at the beginning that's how i know i am on your channel when i am not watching the screen

I sleep 12hr a day often and am very strong. Sleep is amazing.
Side note, your hair looks super cute!
Thank you lady for the info.
🤗🤗
I started intermittent fasting in January. I am doing custom where I switch up between 12 and 24 hours. I'm also working on throwing in extended fasts. 39 hours being my longest so far. I've recently started doing keto, but on certain weeks, more like carb cycling. I'm working my way up to be able to do a 3 day fast. I drink a lot of herbal teas during those times to still get micronutrients and to stay hydrated. I'm a bit insulin resistant so I am working to become insulin sensitive again.
Best fasting video I have seen
When I started on the Keto diet I also started intermediate fasting.
I was losing weight so quickly that I stopped the fasting.😁
I will return to it though as I want to get my insulin doses down to zero.
Thank you, the video is full of information. Well done.
Somehow RUclips knows I'm finishing up a 3 day fast and recommended this.
Must be all the food videos I'm watching 😅
It’s weird. I do that on my fasts. For some reason, I love watching food videos… it doesn’t trigger me, weird
22 hours a day dry fasting/OMAD. 2 hours refeeding and re hydrating 🙏
Jace_Yeah, what’s OMAD?

I have fasted on and off for years but lately I have been doing 16/8 regularly but went to 17 yesterday. Going to gradually increase especially over the weekends.
This thank you so many fasting groups treating longer more is better .
I very much appreciated this explanation. Most excellent.❤
Much Appreciation and Gratitude for the information 🙏 ✨️
Just did my first ever 20 hour fasting today
This is a very informative video!
Thanks Kait!
Great clip🎉
Best vid, hands down most detailed and info , thx
🤗🤗
Wow, Excellent, efficient overview. Thank you. Been on 16/8 but adding one 24 hr on tuesdays.
Very Helpful. Thank You 🙏
I’ve been intermittent fasting for years I usually go 16-20 Hours! This does wonders, but I never extended fast. The longest I went is 24.
super insightful and perfectly explained - thank you ! - subbed
So what have you gain? or cured
Very good information…enjoyed the video… thx
This is what i was looking for!!! Thanks
Great video! *new subscriber*
Another great video on fasting and the metamorphism that takes place. Thanks Kait
The was great and to the point.
Excellent video on the benefits of fasting. IF has been a lifestyle change that has produced amazing results for me!
What a great video! Thank you!
I’m 6’2” tall 220lbs very muscular… roughly 10% body fat! I’m doing my first fast for 60 hours and I’m loving it!
Amazing content thank you.
Thank you so much for the information ❤️
Thank you Coach Kait. I started 18/6 compressed eating and low carbs/zero sugar a week ago. Lost 10 lbs from waist and lowered BP from 144/80 to 121/68, Doing a 48 hour water fast right now, added only some sea salt, magnesium, and potassium to the water.
Thank you so much for your video!. I learned not to do extended fasting so often.
I love doing ADF, and also a monthly extended fast of 72+ hours. Thanks for the video and content.
This was so helpful and informative. Thank you!!
🥰🥰
I generally do 16/8, 24 hours on Wednesday, then after my last meal on Saturday I fast 40 hours until my first meal on Monday. I fast for health benefits and not weight loss because I don't need to lose more weight and have maintained my weight loss for 8 months now. Keto is now my lifestyle and I'm on cruise control and have not cheated (I hate that word because it seems judgmental since I started nearly a year ago.
I, generally, do 23:1 OMAD with one 48 hour fast per week. My weight loss is SLOW but losing.
Maybe it's because you're fasting too much, and your metabolism is starting to slow down to keep balance. For weight loss you should probably not reduce your calories and fast occasionally but strong.
5 meals a week...how much are you losing weekly?
I've been doing one meal a day mostly. 18/6 with two meals on hungry days. Clean keto, liver every day. Fu*@in amazing!
Portion control is part of the equation.
I do an 84 hour fast, once monthly. That's three days, and four nights. Day three is always a drag.
Just what I was looking for. Thanks. OMAD for about 5 days now 36hrs and counting.
Yikes. Too bad I have a function tomorrow or I’d try for 72 hrs. Would two 36hr fasts equal one 72 hr. fasts? I bet you never got that question. I subscribed to your channel. Thank You.
