What if you linked multiple capacitors together. Would it be more voltage.
It's not more voltage you want it's a greater difference between voltages. Multiple capacitors won't increase the voltage and it won't increase the difference between voltages with just created multiple changes in voltages which is a waste of energy because one large change in voltage is enough to blow electric devices a second one with t get the ones you missed
I remember when those cameras was the only way to make a tazer before they sold step up modules on ebay an looking at this with the price of those cameras these days would it not be cheaper to use 1 of those step up modules
Probably would, the thought didn't even cross my mind but your right that would probably work just as well.

Probably, with current redirection. You'll need a voltage meter to constantly observe the voltage distribution.

Outstanding Laddie. Question: I have an idea to manufacture an EMP gun that could be used by law enforcement to stop cars. Is that feasible?
Some of the newer cars which are full of electronics it could stop them but I am not sure if the metal chassis of the car may shield the internal electronics

It has been talked about. But lots of reasons against it.
1 SIZE. An EMP generator big enough to take out a car would be large and VERY heavy. Too much for the average police cruiser.
2 Training. Teaching your average beat cop to safe use something like. Forget about it.
3. Safety. Like the man said. These are very dangerous and not easy to aim. What happen if the cop misses the baddies and the pulse hits an old folks home.

No it's far to low power. Also I found out recently after that on the coil there should only be one turn instead of many. This is why it was so short range.

Clear as mud. Terrible technique, you woffle and go round the houses until people have fallen asleep. So what you are saying is you hijack the charging circuit and place the coil where the flash tube used to connect to? How do you stop the back EMF from the coil eventually frying the rest of the semiconductors? You use what is basically an old Medium Wave radio coil on a ferrite rod, which his silly, since the point of a ferrite rod was to concentrate the magnetic lines within the core to increase the RF signal, and if you are trying to create a magnetic pulse, that works against it. Try it with a two inch coil air cored coil, wrapped round a coke can as a former,, say 50 turns of 22 gauge wire.
