Today we continue with the big military EMP generator. The whole project is completely planned, now we just have to build it. One thing I can tell you already, the manufacturing of the parts took much longer than I expected. Because the generator is massive.

That hemispherical reflector is the wrong shape and size. First and foremost it should be parabolic. Secondly, it should be large enough to reflect the wavelength of the EM pulse that your generator produces. At the very minimum you'll want to use an old satellite TV dish. Yes, it would make your EMP generator large and difficult to move around, but you will be able to destroy electronic devices at a much greater distance than with that tiny reflector you decided to use. Except for that detail, you did an AWESOME job on the overall design of this project!
Bro thank you for your comment! You're totally right. The main Impulse Frequency of my EMP Device ist round about 1.5MHz and the harmonics of this freq. This causes of a wavelenght of I dont know, maybe 100 meters? Haha sooooo huge, such a small mirror can't bundle this huge waves in a efficient way. Its all about the principle Bro. I will make an extra video about it. Really appreciate your support! Have a nice Christmas time!!! Greetings from Germany ;)
@@Teslaundmehr -- I can't wait to watch your future videos of you destroying things with your new toy! LOL
You have a nice Christmas too. Greetings from Minnesota USA (land of the very cold Winters)!
@@Teslaundmehr Let me note please, such narrow-angle diagram EMP sources (or pulsed UWB RF source so) use a long and bulky TEM-horn antenna or dipole resonating array and usually have a main peak about 1-2 GHz. As usual such systems are feeding with marx-pulser, Blumlein DFL, VIG and so on - there is a really big number of pulsed exciters for antenna pumping. Exploding wires were popular in the 60-th like a simple and easy to implement opening-switch topology. Later it was replaced by SOS-diodes, which are basically DSRD`s "big-brothers". Also, as you may know, this circuit works in two different modes: in the first one, the storage capacitor resonates with circuit stray inductance, oscillating frequency and tank loaded Q-factor are low. In this mode the main source of EMP is spark-gap and it obviously always precedes before the wire explodes. You also can place this gap before the reflector but EMP power will be pretty low. The second one mode is oscillating both stray inductance and capacitance of the circuit after the wire explodes and the circuit becomes open. It`ll be better said that stray parameters create a transmission line with TEM-wave runs from one end to another due to reflections and generates a high-power RF-pulse which excites the antenna. So, as can be seen here, you can increase the overall efficiency of your pulser with a short piece of transmission line, which can be made with two coaxial cylinders about 300-500 mm long. And keep the parasitic LC of the discharge circuit as low as possible. Also it makes sense to pump a TEM-horn antenna directly (~1.5meters length) with a short nanosecond pulse, placing a second peaker-gap to transmission line output-end. If you still wanna use a hemisphere reflector, then make a half-wave dipole antenna in front of it, feeding it with exploding wire (approx 500 MHz center peak) and increase the reflector diameter by 3X times - the system will become much more aggressive for radiating.
Anyway - well done engineering job. 3D-printing makes chassis problems really less annoying. Merry X-mas.
@@Magic_Tee This is one of the most amazing responses I've ever read in a youtube comment - so naturally I tried to find a mistake in what you wrote to take it down because I am a jealous and a petty, petty man. Here it is: When you wrote "It`ll" you used an accent character instead of an apostrophe. HA Gotcha! Not so smart now are ya!?? ... Yeah ... erm ...
I hate you.

Damn wasnt expecting to see this today! Great video as always mate. Love the acrylic. Also Labcoatz is also building a flux compression generator. Its greag to see all my favorite youtubers making different types of emp devices at the same time.
Thank you Bro!

I had a dog called Jarvis.
And given we have not seen an update a year later im gonna guess this was an as big of a fail as the first version, and wasent even worth making a video about.
Even if it was a fail, I would still love to see a video about it. 🤷♂️
Lovely built quality! Can't wait to see the results
where could i see it in actions PLEASE !
Any updates on this?
Good Job!!
that is looking Awesome mate, really look forward to seeing the final product and seeing it in action, have and awesom xmas and hope to see loads more in the new year
Noel! Thanks for your support, I also wish you nice Christmas days! Greetings from Germany ;)
5:33 Oh god, yes, I felt that in my bones. So. Many. Times.
Great video, mate. Excellent work and a spectacular design.
You may need to consider venting the spark gap chamber if the arc has the power I think I might . Other wise parts may go flying . Hope this helps regards tim
Hi! Any update on the EMP gun?
Im blown away by this tbh. Very cool. Would like to see a demo video. Awesome design btw.
Would love to see an update on this, it looks like a beast 😁
I can't wait to see it in action
Could you please take a look at something called a 'frozen wave generator'. This is also an ex-military EMP generator that is relatively easy to build and doesn't use huge capacitors, but can still produce 100's kW peak power at VHF-UHF frequencies.
This may help, although need to scale down, as just a bit 'overkill'. citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/document?repid=rep1&type=pdf&doi=1d65b5d3f220bcbd9c0ce97f57ab0022fbe8073b
Looking good man! It appears I'm going to need to work on my own EMP device here pretty soon! 😉
I'm looking forward to this video
@@Antek1234l I actually just released two videos talking about the capacitor bank I'll be using in my collab video with Teslaundmehr
I just saw them, really good stuff!
Yes Zach definitely! I will see a working flux device from you haha ;D
First question What did u use to attach the copper pipes to capacitor? Second question do copper pipes hook up to both terminal sides as well as the multiplier?
leon, have you ever tried an emp generator by making multiple tiny spark gaps in series ? I have done that before and its a crazy method. it can turn off/shut down mobile phones (although not much to newer iphones) shut down monitors, calculators, even mess up the mobile connection.
So what happened to the testing video?
Would a parabolic reflector work better than sphere?
I didn't see any plans for this in your video description.
Since this was 10 months ago and no update, I'm assuming it didn't work?
Or maybe it appeared too nice to make showing it undesirable or even illegal?
So how much of a emp blast would it take to disable my running vehicle at close range?
Not just "emp generator", but "MILITARY EMP GENERATOR". And if my Grandma had wheels, she'd be a wagon.
Dose it work with tv dc flyback transformer with zvs driver?
Sieht doch schon ziemlich cool aus, aber wird es keine Überschläge an den durchführungen des Spiegels geben?
Freue mich auf jeden Fall schon auf das nächste Video!
I checking the channel every day waiting for the 3 part
Very cool projects. Hope your finger is ok! You can buy an optical sensor and add it to your printer or buy one already made, DIY is under $1.
Again, no demonstration?? I would have not released the video without one
damn bro this is cool! i wanna build something like thisss
Thanks bro!
could be share stl ?
You designing skills are awesome and I really appreciate the time and effort that you have put into this. What I could understand that capacitor will charge a peaking capacitor(which is not properly visible but assuming that switch will provide that value) and this will discharge into another switch (in front of reflector) to generator nano second pulse, which will generate EMP pulse. But the question remains that will it be an efficient EMP generator? From my knowledge pico second rise time Marx generators are a good source of EMP generation. So, lets hope for the best for your this generator and in future you should target fast rise time Marx generators. If you can share the schematic of the high voltage section (to estimate the peaking capacitor value which will generate the fast rise time) it will be much helpful to understand this system properly. 🙂
Thank you! I really appreciate your kind words! So basically the charging circuit has no effect on the EMP section itself. The EMP is only generated by the Capacitor, the Sparkgap and the wire exploder. The circuit have a certain Inductance (very low) about 30 nH. In combination with the capacitance of the Pulscap we have an oscillating circuit. When the Sparkgap is triggerd, this oscillates at a frequency of about 1 MHz and the related harmonics. The current in the circuit rises extremly fast. At the highest peak current in the circuit the wire detonate. Because of the extrem fast collapsing field (there is no current flow anymore, because the conductive wire is detonated) a strong magnetic field is emitted. to put it in a nutshell, we have not a fast rise time, but a fast fall time ;)
@@Teslaundmehr So, you are using inductive pulse shaping (exploding wire) instead of capacitive pulse shaping (peaking switches). Drawback with inductive pulse shaping is repeatability but I am interested to see that what this machine is capable of. In future if you can add diagnostic probes (like voltage and current sensors) it will be very helpful in understanding the system parameters. Best of luck.

Bro your comments made my day! Thanks for your support!!!
05:40 Me be like: Wow the triceps!. LOL
Great man. Waiting for your next video bro... CU
Thanks bro, I'm glad that you enjoyed the video!
Just started the video and that power on screen of your printer!!! 🤣
Haha yes I customise it a little bit haha :D
I see that you used a reflector made from a section of a sphere. This will cause spherical aberation on your reflected beam which will cause some de-focusing. If you can find a reflector which is a true parabola there will be no spherical aberation and you will obtain the maximum power from your beam.
Yes you're right...I'm thinking about buying a real parabolic mirror, but its totally expensive :(
I'd be real interested in knowing how EMP Shields are made and how they work. Why do they cost so much what makes it worth it and how can we build our own.
What did you mean with EMP Shield?

now is going to work better than the last one if it is creating an electric gap and if you improve the electric frecuency so it can travel longuer distance and concentrate it like a laser beam so it will work perfectly
Yes, hopefully!
This shit will be epic.
Yes, definitely!
Oh yay hoot hoot!!

Photonicinductiion would be proud of this!
hopefully :D
Where’s the next video!
idk if a hemisphere is the same as parabolic technically. WOuldnt mater in this application though.
The parabolic mirror I have is definitely not perfect for this device...Need a much larger one to have a good bundled beam
And I need a real parabolic mirror ;)
@@Teslaundmehr I just cant recall for sure if a semi circle can be represented as a parabolic function. IDK how much difference it would make. Maybe shorten the focal length.
It wold be interesting to compare the geometries.

LMAO that sign off, "if you have a blackout, you know Leon's generator is working"
Hahahahaha
I've never been so excited for a blackout! (Also, as I live in the middle of the states, if you manage to create a blackout from Deutschland, I'm going to be amazingly impressed, but you'll want to be ready for the black helicopters that governments send your way to secure the tech! 😂)
Haha I will try my best Bro ;)
Also, purple PCBs are not sexy, this build is sexy!
Ohhh yes, thanks bro!
