If you do something like this again I think it would be great if you could get a few guests on at the same time and let them bounce ideas off each other, and compare what they have seen in their practice.
In short , ALL of it but particularly the hormesis aspect. Thank you Ari for bringing this wealth of information out into the public domain. It’s was literally eye opening 😊
My optometrist is always trying to sell me a supplement for eye health and specifically stresses macular degeneration because of "my age (68)". I've always turned him down. My next eye exam is in two weeks and I'm wondering how I would ever present the 20/40 idea to him. I spend a lot of time outdoors gardening, walking, etc. and I only wear sunglasses when I feel it's necessary. The use of blurring vision and using color as ways to nudge the eyes into sort of a self-correction or self-improvement is fascinating as well as the information on progressive lenses.
@@jillh5399 Just tell him that's what you want, have him sell you an extra pair of glasses. The guy's in business, it's extra money for him. There's absolutely nothing strange about it.
I loved the aspect of diet being discussed I loved that the eyes can mirror what else is going on inside. Loved the Blur exercise. I loved how hopeful Dr. Berne is! I loved it all...I need to watch this again to absorb all the info.
Most interesting was the fact that eye conditions, usually regarded as potential blindness like glaucoma, can be healed with diet! That is so important for people to learn about!
Terrific information. Thank you for posting this. Last eye exam they said my glaucoma was up a bit. NEVER before was that ever an issue. I have been eating whole food plant based since April 29, 2022. However, I just added Wild Planet canned salmon with bones last week. They just came out with bones in. I am making my own walnut butter now so I had upped my omega 3's. I'm excited to share this with my friends ~ especially the ones who have been told there is nothing they can do! Marilyn
Excellent interview! What I do at 45 to improve my sight (near) is that I read every day with the book stuck to my nose😅 to "beat" the blur and after 10-15 mins my lens adjusts and I start seeing cleaner and clearer.
So very interesting Living on low fixed income Wishing for sight remedies Any good suggestions for those of us Financially challenged That i may be able to work again? Thank you so much for this brilliant information ♥️
I visited Dr. Berne's website and could not find any free resources or exercises. One cannot even read the articles without subscribing for $25 a month.
Me too! I tried to look but couldn't find anything! The information Dr Berne shared is awesome! I will always be thankful to my Son's vision trainer that helped him avoid wearing his prescription glasses. I can connect you with him if you are interested! I believe he also has a lot of videos on RUclips.
Did Dr. Berne deliberately make his video a little blurry so we could train our vision? Joking aside, this was a really interesting talk and I'm going to be more consistent about implementing the 20/20/20 exercise throughout the day.
I would like to see studies of the total chemical makeup of the vitreous humor and aqueous humor of people with cataracts and macular degeneration compared to healthy eyes. There must be a difference.
So interesting about his take on progressive eyeglasses. I wear them and have always hated them when trying to read up close. I only use them to drive and when i am out but as soon as I get home, i put my readers on. I also try to go without my glasses, too, to stress the eyes (in a good way). Question, Ari: When going out in sun, is it okay to not wear sunglasses sometimes and let the sun hit your eyes without staring up into the sun?
It's important to try to get the sun directly shining on your face (without staring at it) at least 25 mins/day. 2x25 mins (with the second portion in the afternoon) is preferable. This should be done without sunglasses.
Why are some people's eyes more sensitive? Why is it hard for me to see at night? Is a non synthetic melatonin a better option? Thank you for a most fascinating discussion.
The first two questions are very individual. Tart Cherry extract is one of only a few sources of natural melatonin but it won't work as well as the synthetic sort.
The ones that were recalled were the Aging Eye Relief drops by Similisan. I was very disappointed as I never had any trouble with them and they relieved my chronic dry eye to a very livable level. No looking for an alternative.
Methylene blue has potential benefits for eye health, particularly in treating macular degeneration and using photodynamic therapy due to its antioxidant properties. However, it can be toxic to retinal cells at high concentrations. More clinical trials are needed to confirm its efficacy and safety for ocular treatments.
I was wondering what causes my eye to tear. I have had this for quite a while. My eyes get watery, almost like crying for no reason. I am always dabbing my eyes with tissue. Any thoughts? My eye doctor said it is caused by a blocked tear duct.
Ari, I tried to go to his website and there is a message on there stating he has closed his business, it seems in response to warning letters from the FDA and him then recalling all his products. Wouldn't it have been advisable to address this in the shownotes? and/or in the opening/closing remarks on this episode?
Humm, I just went to Dr B's website tonight 8-5-24, no problem. I signed up for his newsletter. Also went to his Facebook page. Perhaps things were resolved? 🤷🏼♀️

Thank you so much for introducing Dr. Berne! It's very exciting to hear an eye doctor say that myopia and other eye conditions can be improved!
Glad it was helpful!

You're so welcome!

The omega 3's we need are DHA and EPA. They are only found in animal foods and seafoods. Many other nutrients are only in animal/sea foods.
Glad it got you feeling positive about improving your eye health!

Very interesting. Have to try this.
Look into Dr Berne's work for answers.
Great way to start my Saturday as always. Thank you both - this has been really helpful!
Fantastic!
Thank you!! ■ This is a 'Must Know'. M
Indeed!
It would've been great to hear more about diet!
There's only a few key nutrients there, which I think we touched on.
Good information...Thx both of you..👍👍👍

There's free videos on RUclips that may be helpful for training your eyes.

IATROGENESIS is probably the greatest antecedent to vision problem eg chemo drugs, steroids etc

@@TheEnergyBlueprint I take herbatonin...which I head was a better source. Thanks.
Can you say more and give possible links for info about flicker-free and blue light filter computer screens
Please address Dr Berne direct for his best recommendations.
I seem to remember his eye drops being recalled do to fungal contamination but sure like his natural ideas to help our eyes
Glad it was helpful

Does methalene blue have positive effects on the eye as it does brain and heart?

I am on his website now looking for the cataracts healing kit he referenced in the above video. I am unable to find... could use a hint 😁
Not sure. Please contact him directly.

Best to see your doctor for tests. I don't want to guess.

Thanks. The doctor is recommending high oxsilte for the eye.
Is it O,K?
Which doctor is recommending it?
@hanancohen6793 HIGH oxalates?
That is strange. I have learned recently that a diet high in oxalates actually damages the eyes!
