I am allergic to alot of things even power foods but on your channel I learned about lutein I was allergic at first now I am not. I am 61 and have 20/20 vision
started using Can C for cat - [60 days] can see more light, shapes are district, I can now read letters 3" away in dim light, with bright light about 6" away - I'm also taking L-carnosine cap, and just started taking NAC
Spiritus, what IS Can C……is it in pill form……where do you buy it……and WHY on EARTH would you ask someone “ Why he wants to know where you buy it “ ????? For HELP, of course ! But, sadly, you CHOSE not to answer the person.
Vitamin c is good for tissue repair. I eat 150g of rockmellon for breakfast and at dinner to keep my levels up. Kiwi fruit is an excellent source of vitamin c. Just one for breakfast and one in the evening. The body can only take up a limited amount at a time, so its a good idea to split it like i do. Mega dosed of c can cause the excessive amount to turn harmful and damage tissues. To confirm this do a deep dive in google, look for research from government health departments or educational institutions. Good luck 😊
Really good question. I want to do a video on this subject. With RCE, the most important thing is to support the tear film and healing of the cornea. Topical and even oral vitamin C has been used for healing of corneal wounds and post surgical cases too, but it will be important to consult your local doctor about what exactly they recommend for you and how much. There are some other food concerns depending on the treatment your doctor could recommend, such as oral doxycycline for example. Dairy products can interfere with oral doxy.
Thank you so much ,God bless the work you are doing ,eyes are the Windows of the soul ,I wish we have an optician like you in my country ,my brother had suffered al his life of querakotino cornea malformation and went through many operations, he died at 55 almost blind 😢

I was taking 2000 mg of salmon oil, the recommended (on the container) dose, which acts as a blood thinner, and found that my skin was getting fragile. Just bumping into something would cause a tear in the skin and after years my forearms are covered with scars from this. Dropped the dosage to 1,000 mg and the problem resolved, so one has to be aware of taking too much of supplements and monitor their individual reactions.

I did this livestream last year and went more deep into glaucoma, the only thing not mentioned was the Vitamin B3 and pyruvate. ruclips.net/user/live6PgPCfbVgn4
Important emphasis for B3 should be they used the form "nicotinamide" versus the most common form people will get in a store which is just NIACIN or Nicotinic acid. The form they used is NO FLUSH and less dangerous. If people ask for niacin they will not get that form.

@@lsmith992 Sadly, theclassroomdoc is very misinformed and even saying either of them are dangerous with one being less dangerous is absurd. Sure, if you take large doses of nicotinimide, maybe, but nicotinic acid or flush niacin as many call it, has studies galore on high does to lower cholesterol, schizophrenia and other health issues. We are talking 3000 mg a day or more. I take up to 2000mg a day myself. It pays to research for yourself and not listen to a random person on youtube, including me!

I've had severe allergies all my life but apart from that I would consider myself extremely healthy now only 50.... This should not have happened to me age 45
YES! Absolutely. The tighter the blood glucose control and the earlier someone is able to put diabetes into remission, the less damage to the retina vasculature and the healthier the retinal cells become. One thing I just realized I forgot to mention, but perhaps I will do a separate dedicated video on it, is the research into diabetic vision supplements which can the function of the retina and prevent the severity of diabetic retinopathy.
Thank you for the indepth information about newer products for dry eye. I have used the Ivizia, the regular Blink, (not the new one you suggest) Refresh Mega-3. Mine comes and goes, perhaps due to pollens? I wore contact lenses for 52 years, without dry eyes. After cataract removal the floaters developed and so did the dry eye. Age, probably, the problem. But I am going to try the vitreous health supplement. Will let you know.
Thank you! Yeah I have heard mixed reviews about the vitreous health supplement for floaters but it could be because some people's "floaters" may not be due to gel changes inside of the eye but instead due to other neurological visual disturbances. Either way, looking forward to hearing back from your experience.
I have a condition called Epiretinal membrane on my eyes. To prevent having surgery to remove that membrane, is there any specific supplement that helps keep the membrane from crumpling up worse? I take lutein and zeazanthin daily.
Excellent video! Thank you so much for all this great information. I had a tear and bleeding vein near the optic nerve, the doctor couldn't explain why, had shots of a drug to help the vein heal (didn't work) and took AReds for several months which I don't feel helped. I feel my doctor was very uninformed (and unfortunately the only one in my healthcare network). I now have a dark spot I can't see past, am living in another country waiting for healthcare and I'm hoping some of these supplements will help stall things. Also, ccould you possibly discuss the benefits of "blue light" blocking glasses? Thanks for all your work!
PreserVision Areds are only for people with macular degeneration? I have retinoschisis, I’m taking the Ared supplements. I wonder if it is ok for anyone to take the PreserVision?
People can take it, it's just the original formula was established from the AREDS Studies and the only significant finding in the publication was it's ability to reduce the progression of AMD from an intermediate stage to an advanced stage, by roughly 25% over 5 years. It is otherwise still a decent source of Lutien, Zeaxanthin and other vitamins.
My own is case is glaucoma, don't you have any remedy for glaucoma I have lost my right eye but I still believe that the eye is still alive because when I drop any eye drop it will fill pain in it
I need a DMEK? cornea transplant and was told at the specialist's office that the reason is probably that nutrition wasn't getting to my left eye, yet my right eye is fine. Not sure which nutrients though, I wasn't told that. The innermost layer of my cornea isn't functioning at all. What have I done wrong? I eat a lot of salads and veggies...
Based on the research Dr Knobbe has presented, it is something I am aware of and have concerns about, however, I would like to see the research substantiated by other authors and institutions. Either way, I think it is best to avoid consuming heavily processed foods (which are a frequent source of seed oils and refined sugars). But very well-done research has continued to show the whole "seed oils are secretly killing us" is not really a thing. There are also some other holes in his arguments I would love to ask him about. I hope to meet him some day and get a chance to have a discussion about it all.
I was diagnosed with a macular wrinkle on both eyes. With my right eye I see a bit distorted. Was told I could have surgery if it got worse otherwise its ok. Are there any supplements or exercises I can take or do?
I wish there was some supplement or eye exercises to help with epiretinal membrane (macular wrinkle), but unfortunately, I have never seen anything that would suggest it could help. I think supplements like Lutein and Zeaxanthin can still be supportive for retinal health but would be unlikely to solve any macular pucker/ERM. Has your doctor suggested anything?

I did not include them in this presentation due to time and the fact there is not as much robust research on these ingredients as they pertain to eye health.
Dr. This is the second time i came across your show, and it's is very informative and educational. I am 77yr. and trying to locate an eye dr. I am in Brooklyn were are located...
Thanks Dr Joseph Allen 👍❤️
Looking forward to a deep dive into red light therapy and its effects on glaucoma and/or scotoma.

started using Can C for cat - [60 days] can see more light, shapes are district, I can now read letters 3" away in dim light, with bright light about 6" away - I'm also taking L-carnosine cap, and just started taking NAC
Where are you getting the Can-C?
@@KotoriOnWheels whhhhhhhhhhhy do you ask?
Spiritus, what IS Can C……is it in pill form……where do you buy it……and WHY on EARTH would you ask someone “ Why he wants to know where you buy it “ ????? For HELP, of course ! But, sadly, you CHOSE not to answer the person.
How about recurrent corneal erosion? which vitamin is better?

Really good dr..❤
Also check the ingredients at the back of the bottle..sometimes..the ingredients…have fake oils ..like soya oil or veg oil ..with are bad for ….your body .if you cannot pronounce the ingredients dont buy the ‘brand”
I take Nordic naturals, ultimate Omega 1280 mg, and I do bruise easily. Been taking it for over 10 years daily.
Have you been taking it for eye health specifically? or for your heart or any other reason?
@@DoctorEyeHealth I take it for dry eye. I was told that it also is good for the heart, although a seminar about heart health few years ago discounted any benefit for heart health.
Astaxanthin- Thanks for the recommendation! I read it was also good for inflammation in the body!
Hi this is Kor from sta rosa laguna PH. 1st time to hear astoxanthin. Thanks for sharing benefits.
Thank u for your educational info it's a big help esp.w/my dry eyes..

I take OCUVITE SUPPLEMENT IIS THAT FINE ? I HAVE DRY EYES REDNESS F!OATERS AS WELL.GIVE ME SOME ADVICE. ON WHAT DREYE DROP SHOU I TAKE.
I cured dry eye and ocular rosacea with vitamin A from Norwegian cod liver oil and vitamin A palmitate.
3000mcg 4times a week. My ophthalmologist was stunned, he knew nothing about nutrition and eye health.
Consumers now must become the CEO of their own health...the sick care system is broken.
Super happy to hear you were able to achieve that! Cod liver oil does have a good amount of vitamin A and other benefits too. Do you still take that much vitamin A 4x a week?
How long did it take to see a difference?
@@DoctorEyeHealth thank you for questioning me.
I take 3,000 mcg, Not mg. Yes 4x/week.
@@anascholtz2895 3-4 weeks

What about best supplements for glaucoma. Any recommendations?.
I did this livestream last year and went more deep into glaucoma, the only thing not mentioned was the Vitamin B3 and pyruvate. ruclips.net/user/live6PgPCfbVgn4
Astaxanthin and Lutien spare working well for me.
Glad to hear it!
Important emphasis for B3 should be they used the form "nicotinamide" versus the most common form people will get in a store which is just NIACIN or Nicotinic acid. The form they used is NO FLUSH and less dangerous. If people ask for niacin they will not get that form.
Is there any alternative to eye injection due to Macular degenerate as loosing vision in one eye? Desperate for help from a Good eye doctor Be blessed for all you do for us humans😂
Less dangerous?
Lol, whatever...
Flush niacin is the one with the most benefits to health.
@@StelmaDesigns
Yes. The flush feels like it's clearing my blood vessels of anything that shouldn't be there. Like a drain flush.
I am taking PreserVision AREDS 2, prescribed by my Opthalmologist.
Watching from Tanzania .Thank you so much
I started taking Vit D 3 for some time now and wow… what a difference; also I have lots more energy! I take 10,000 iu’s a day. I am indoors a lot.
What are the side effects with too much Vit D3?
Should take K2 with high dosages of D3. Helps it transport to where you benefit and not build up in your arteries.
Same here! I have so much more energy. My levels are higher than my mainstream doctor likes but good levels according to more modern studies. Just over 100
Watching from South Africa
your information and videos are priceless! you make such a huge difference in so many people's lives! i live in arizona-- no one tells you about the extremely low humidity which results in evaporative dry eye. adding to this, when you bring up dry eye to your eye doctor, they just say "yeah! it's a real problem here!!" but don't give you a solution. you give me hope of living w/out dry, burning eye lids, constantly tearing eyes and dry eyes . thank you!!!!
Thanks Doctor for your recommendation, very informative and helpful..
Most welcome!
Watching from Arizona. I take a tsp. of cod liver oil, DHA/EPA capsules daily. I tried to take the Areds 2 but the zinc irritates my stomach.
Florida USA. I was diagnosed at 88, five years ago and taking Areds2 ever since.❤
Do you believe reversing diabetes type 2 with diet reduces the likelyhood of blindness caused by diabetes?
I’ve heard of that happening
I suddenly lost sight in one eye 5 years ago now and I now follow, as much as I can, 😂(i love bad sugary foods) Dr Berry's channel and keto diet....lots eggs 🍳 I eat now... reintroduced beef hadn't eaten in over 20 yrs......only eat once r twice a week......eggs almost every day for past yr..... suspected vasculitis secondary to undifferentiated connective tissue disease is what's on my file as cause of sudden eye loss ......
Why when i blink do I see peripheral flashes. Saw retina specialist and all came out normal including that gel
Not 100% certain on that. But I use good drops regularly, not taking any chances. Thanks!
We really like your video style! It's very attractive and authentic
I'm 71 and diagnosed with optic neuropathy. I ordered astaxanthin after watching your video. Hope it will help. Thanks
DR.ALLEN ONE QUESTION I WANT TO KNOW IF “” METHYLSULFONYLMETHANE “” EYE DROPS IS GOOD FOR EYES FLOATERS AND THANK YOU FOR SHARING WITH US!!!
Must not be, as he chose not to respond. Oh well….
I take Shaklee multivitamins (Vita Lea Gold) and Shaklee Vitamin D3
Thanks Doctor, watching from Malaysia
That is amazing! So happy you are here!
I take Cod liver oil 4,585 mg It contains 410 mg of Docosahexanoic acid . Do you have any data on these forms ?.It also has 320 mg Elcoosapentaenoic.
Do you believe seed oils are associated with macular degeneration?
Cbd olie 😊
Based on the research Dr Knobbe has presented, it is something I am aware of and have concerns about, however, I would like to see the research substantiated by other authors and institutions. Either way, I think it is best to avoid consuming heavily processed foods (which are a frequent source of seed oils and refined sugars). But very well-done research has continued to show the whole "seed oils are secretly killing us" is not really a thing. There are also some other holes in his arguments I would love to ask him about. I hope to meet him some day and get a chance to have a discussion about it all.
My dr at CEI recommended PRN which ive been taking for several years now
Hope you are doing well with it!!
Cảm ơn bác sĩ nhiều.Tôi đến từ Việt Nam ❤❤❤
Could you please review NAC eye drops in the future? Seems promising but I hesitate to put anything in my eyes that I am not sure about.
Also I have a LED mask which has red, blue and yellow light. I read conflicting reports on how red light affects the eyes. Some say it is beneficial, others don’t know or suggest may damage. Would be grateful for your opinion. I stopped using the mask for the moment
