I really like this filter, but I seem to be getting a lot of bypass even after adding extra filter floss. My biomedia was covered in mulm after just 2 months of use. The other thing, the instructions say to cut the hose a certain amount of inches (I forget the exact amount, I think it's 4) above the rim for the intake, but you need to cut it at least twice as long otherwise it'll be too short. By the way Big Al's.. ? This was honestly not a review but rather reading the info that's printed on the box lol.
Can you do a video on how to replace the ribbed tubing on the Fluvals with regular hose like from Eheim? I really want to add inline heater and possibly CO2 like you did for the high tech tank.

I think the warranty sealed the deal for me on getting a canister filter for my 30g planted tank. Anyone have any thoughts on whether or not I should also throw in a powerhead or something additional to get good water circulation throughout the tank?
Does the primer function work better than on the 06 series? Did filter maintenance on my 406 yesterday including flushing out the hoses. Couldn't get the primer to function at all and ended up having to pour water down the hose with a jug to get the siphon functioning. Looking online it seems a very common issue.
Practically impossible, DIY natural tapsafes are very easy to kill your fish. Just use a high quality tapsafe, it's the safest for your fish . If it's children your afraid are gonna drink the tapsafe you shouldn't have fish.

Depending on the kind of chlorine they use, you could let water sit in a bucket for a couple days and it will evaporate. Full disclaimer ive only read about this method and never tried it myself

If it's a 5/8 tube its plug and play
Not sure about using the original in/out puts. I wanna say you use those rubber connectors and some zip ties.

@@NaturalAquaria nope it's on carpet. Got the motorhead replaced after eliminating air bubbles and the new one is the same. Really disappointing.
