Speaking of the west, Bloodywood, Band-Maid and Nemophila are playing at the Aftershock festival in Sacramento, California this October! I'm really hoping all three bands will blow away the American audience 🤘😊🤘

Dude! Thanks for the heads up. I have looked at the line up and I'm not sure I can miss this festival. I gotta do some research. There are 15 bands on the bill that I have reacted to! And there are about 10 more that I just wanna see!

At first, it was a youtube project to make metal covers of Bollywood songs. They make it good and got millions of views. Then they got an invitation to Wacken 2019. For three guys, guitar and both vocals, which have no band and never performed live, a honor and a risk of the Wacken producers. They take the challenge, added a bassist, a drummer and a dahl player, rehearsed like crazy and rocked the stage in Wacken (a side stage with an audience of "only" 10.000). For information: Wacken is a small village in northern germany, with more cows than inhabitants. It is the place of one of the world largest metal Open Air festivals (82.000 visitors). And it also very influential, play here as a band and you have the poof to be good.

I'm glad they put it all together. They have a really interesting sound and clearly a strong passion.

Imo their 2 new releases are even harder/faster, and apparently they are on the verge of breaking into the top 200 on the billboard and will be the first Indian metal band to ever do so from what I've read.

Unfortunately Billboard is not counting the 2000 album copies sold on Amazon for some reason 😐

So many great songs from these guys - check out Gaddar, Aaj, Dana Dan, Jee Veerey. There is also a great documentary about them called "Bloodywood - Raj Against the Machine (The Documentary)" that follows them on the road to Wacken. They seem like a great bunch of guys, so happy to see them getting attention.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the music breakdown. Lot's of bands have tried to merge traditional and metal but most of them fall into the trap of trying to get by by just putting in traditional instruments to basic (too harsh? Not sure what word to use here) metal songs. What makes Bloodywood stand out is if you take away the heaviness of their songs, what you're left with is basically a Bollywood pop song. It's that bouncy rhythm that works so well with the metal.
These guys are absolute geniuses with how they found their sound too. They started out by covering Bollywood pop songs with a metal twist. All the while perfecting their sound.
Also, they already did an EU tour. Wacken included. Absolutely killed it. Check the videos.
    Please do more Bloodywood reactions.
    Love from the Maldives 🇲🇻🤘

Thanks for that. I wish I had better knowledge of drums as an instrument. But this performance was super interesting to my ears.

Great reaction mate, the drum is called a Dhol, there is also the Tabala being played too. They often put in a lot of traditional Indian instruments it's really cool. Please do more it's great to hear a breakdown from a musician! Jee Veerey, AAJ, Gaadaar, Yaad, Endurant, standard rabbit hole people go through with them. Keep up the good work.

that was.. surprisingly good. Very bouncy as you say, the traditional drums helps with that for sure. Riffs sounded like Limp Bizkit. Yeah, it was pretty good.

Funny you should mention Wacken - they’ve played it! If you check out their “Raj Against the Machine” mini documentary, you’ll get backstory on the band, plus live clips, plus general fun/mayhem
