Janet Jackson's "Alright" is a song you play when you want people on the dance floor. I went to a private party in Los Angeles in 2004, that's when I heard and saw the effect "Alright" had on the crowd (and me). Even though it was released in 1989, it's still a 'go to' when a DJ wants people on the dance floor. After I witnessed that phenomenon, I became very intrigued with that infectious song. Then when I watched the video, the imaginative vision combined with the on screen talent is simply awesome.
Like her brother you just don't see this level of perfectionism today. At 24? She had so much involvement with just about every bit of this. The song, the video, the.....everything. Pure ICON through and through with zero to prove to anyone. Rhythm Nation and EVERY hit from it will go down in history as changing Pop, blurring racial lines, social injustice...I could go on. This song was the jam back in the day and holds up.
Janet at 24 in 1990 :-co-wrote,co-produce this song and did lots of research for the video as she was a girl born in the 1966 who grew up as a youth watching Hollywood themed musicals and invited the Nicolas brothers and cab Callaway(two of the hugest and most significant black entertainers of culture) to be in the video because she wanted to encapsulate the 1940s era so perfectly. She is someone who is passionate on innovating the video era along with the choreography done by Terry Bixler who created that iconic chair sequence in the beginning. May I add SHE WAS ON TOUR when she was in the middle of her tour when she filmed this video. New artists at 24 in 2021: let's make a shallow beat song and make money off of it
Beautiful comment Jerry - extremely well crafted. If you watch Rhythm Nation there's a picture of me and Amanda - she is my make up artist and was Janet's too and toured with her 🌹x
@@psycheinc-theSLC Oh wow that's amazing. May I add that you look a little like the beautiful Jody Watley. She recently reposted my comment on her youtube channel and I was starstruck

I am also impressed that Janet Jackson got Cyd Charisse to appear in her video. That speaks volumes of the respect given and reciprocated to and from the young and old. That Cab Calloway and Cyd Charisse didn't mind associating with Janet Jackson's brand of music.
Madonna and Janet Jackson ruled the 80's and 90's! I've seen both ladies in concert and they both rocked my face off! Legends, icons, QUEENS. Long live Miss Jackson!
@@strawberrybounce1617 Ooh I've been up since the crack of dawn doing a reaction to Bruno Mars/Anderson Paak's new single Skate. Just uploaded it. It's funny my phone went ping and I'm in the UK so when they release something in the US is their evening, but the UK's sleep time...I looked like a troll doll when I got up 😂😂😂🤦🏽♀️
@@psycheinc-theSLC OH I understand 🤣 I will be checking that one out now! I love me some Bruno Mars! I'm working from home, so this is great for me!! 🔥🔥
Hello Jerry thank you so much. When I look at others they all look like they're shocked. I tried that in there evening but it wasn't me at all so I've stuck to doing it my way. I really appreciate your comment. Have a wonderful weekend, keep safe and be happy on purpose! Psyche 🙋🏽♀️🌹
Another hit single from Janet’s amazing “Rhythm Nation” album. The choreography is, once again, very impressive. So is Janet’s smile - it’s infectious! I also wish we still had music and videos like this today Psyche. Yet another nice selection and review. Janet and Psyche brightening another day 😊. Thank you - as always, “Red”
What a lovely comment - thank you so much "Red".......Janet's smile is so beautiful - broad and sincere x George is coming out in about 10 minutes - I know your time is stretched so as always, I am very grateful Red. Hoping all is going positively your end. Psyche 🙋🏽♀️✨🌹

So much fun I had watching this with you Psyche. It has been forever since I have seen this video. I love Janet. Rhythm Nation is such a great album. That is a Jimmy and Terry song but that’s not the album version of the song. This version is the wonderful remix by the absolutely outstanding Shep Pettibone. They are similar, but it really gives you that bit of edge that makes you want to really move with that horn break. Shep is amazing. Thanks again for another trip down memory lane 😊😘
Wonderful again. BTW my mum isn't in hospital, she is at home but awaiting tests. Thank you for your concern x Can I ask if you can do a reaction to Tori Amos - Winter, Live from Montreux 91/92.? Not sure how you come about your reactions but it's an old song and I love her so if you can then that would be great; if not then no worries. I love your reactions and you are so amazing, Psyche, thanks again xx
Hello my dear Suzanne good to see you - it's been a long time, but hope you're ok. How long does your Mum have to wait for tests - seems she has waited for such a long time - which doesn't seem fair on her, but I sincerely hope it can be done quickly now as things are returning back to normal at the hospitals and appointments are being made again. And how are you as you are just as important? I hope you're ok Suzanne. With regards reaction, my plate is full my lovely as my playlist is extensive and it's just me doing it all and going bonkers but loving it, plus I don't get paid - so I have to get big views to grow the channel, so I may implement a 'buy me cup of coffee' as I need to get something to keep me going. Reactors don't get paid, and it takes a lot to run a channel - the money goes to the artist and record companies so one has to fund their channel in another way that's why channels ask for donations and do patreon which is not for me. But treating me to a 'cup of coffee' when one feels like it is more than reasonable and well deserved though I'm still thinking about that. I also want to start making my own content again, which will be better for me as I will be paid for that outright. i.e. A Day in the life of Psyche, interviews, cooking, travel etc. but I will still be doing lots of reacting too - just need to balance stuff and I'm sure people will like the A Day With Psyche as people like to see what other people are doing 😂🤦🏽♀️. If you can please watch as much stuff as possible as that will help. Keep me informed about Mum and more importantly about you - make sure you eat, rest, and Im always here for a chat if you need to. Love Psyche 🌹❤️x p.s. thank you for your kind words and appreciation - it's that that keeps me going 😘
@@psycheinc-theSLC Thanks so much for your kind words again. Yes, I'm looking after myself and just helping mum out as much as possible. The 'buy me a coffee' idea sounds great. I would definitely do that :D - you deserve it because your reactions are so well-considered and genuine, plus you take the time to answer people like myself about the music videos of course, but life in general. I am especially so touched by that. The cooking, interviews etc would be great, too. I hope you can get these going and I know you will be super successful. Much love to you XX
