I feel a kelp themed T-shirt coming on! “Please don’t be kelp”
This is an awesome idea 💡
"I caught a kelper pounder"
My only question is why carry all that ice down from SF? There’s a Costco in Irvine 😂
So I’ve fished the Klamath River for years with my brothers,we’ve hooked and fought some pretty convincing rocks over the years,I got a great shot of one I fought for over 15 minutes!
I’d buy that😂😂😂
Now that's a great way of spending some time off before Daddy duty. Looked like a Fun afternoon with good friends and some great drone shots and catches. Thanks for taking us along Matts and Congratulations ! it will be a great story to tell the baby. 🤩🎣👶👍
Haha did t even think of that but you're right!
That was a lot of fun Matts. Glad you were able to make it out and we got on em thanks to Edwin too. Can’t wait to take you for the island trifecta next!
Alec have you ever fished in Hawaii? because you know the ropes on how we pack our Ahi before we bring it in. G&G and pack the opu with ice. 100% of every mainlander fishermen knows nothing of what you know. You are blessed!!!!!
@@808Cummins No man i haven’t but id love to someday. Especially how they catch those Ahis from jet skis. Looks sick!
@@fishermanalec9079 you should see the big boys they bring up on kayaks. A guy brought up a 500lb marlin on his. But he was towed for miles. A charter boat had to assist and bring him and the fish home. Fun. But I honestly wouldn't use a kayak 🤣🤣🤣
What an awesome video to post as a finale before the grand finale when you have the baby and don't post for a while. I was super stoked to see you posted another video before the baby was born. Hoping everything goes well and praying for a safe and easy delivery. Congratulations and looking forward to more Fishermans life videos in the future. 🙏🤙🍼
I'll try to be back at it next week! Baby is home and healthy. Just gotta get into the new routine!
Alec and Edwin, thank y'all so much for making this happen so we can all enjoy this as well!
What a fun day, thanks Alec & Matts for sharing the experience. I like how you didn’t want to tell us you had a banana in your bag until after we got fish on deck 😂. Cheers and Gratz on the addition to the family!
Haha , that's funny , my grandfather used to eat banana and rice on his boat when he was young living in the Philippines fishing and he always fed his family. 🤷♂️
Some fishermen are very superstitious. Wonder if the outcome would still be the same had Matts ate the banana going out to ground.
Great job captain Edwin !
@@Fishingwithjameschoi James! My man. Thank you brother.
This was the best video in a while, something new and exciting.
Another great video Matt, thanks! The pace was right on, charm is ever-present, and positive attitudes all around. The good stuff.
What a day! Super stoked to see you all tackle the ocean together and come home safe and happy. Job well done by all.
I see a new ‘Fisherman’s Life’ video:
I click. I like. I watch.
That is a beautiful boat. Great they are taking you out like that. Plus they know what to do after the catch too. I want friends like that 🤣
How about friends that know bluefin tuna from kelp!!!
Congrats on the baby! Here’s some tips from a first time dad. 1) set an alarm and feed em before they wake up/cry 2) throw that towel in the dryer before you bathe em so they have something warm and fluffy when they get out.
Awesome Matt !!. Congratulation !!! That Prius though. Got to love the MPG and room in the back. Love the video . Congrats on the Bluefin. One day I want to experience towing my boat to SoCal. One day. ... from now. Ill enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing !
Congratulations on the baby.
Very nice trip before things get busy.
Awesome video Matts!!! Good catching up over dinner and thank you for sharing some of your catch!
That’s bad ass man. I’m from Santa Rosa but now live in Oregon. Been using some of your techniques up here on the coast and have been having success. Thanks
Awesome catch, Matts! And congratulations to you and Sarah!
Matt , I wish you and your wife all the luck with your new baby !!
Thank you 🙏
I’m pretty sure they sell ice in LA. Didn’t have to drive from San Francisco with ice lol.
It's been awhile since you posted a tuna hunt Matts , this was a refreshing episode thank you and you guys were in some Foam bro , Tuna for days , awesome 🤝🏻
Great video! Excited to see you filming in Southern CA
Fish of a life time! Good Job, Matt's! Congrats on the new family member!🍾🍾🍼🍼
Crushed It... I mean CRUSHED them.... Need to get you a holster to put that rod it. OUCH !
“Oh this guy’s from San Francisco, let me go say hi really quick and then I’ll go” 😂
Thank you for taking us with you on your adventure, it looked fun
Nice job Matt! I snagged a 44 pound halibut last year here in Alaska, that exhausted me. I can't imagine an 80 fish that fight's back that hard!
It was fibrous feeling just bc it was eaten the day of, once you freeze and age it properly, you’ll get that buttery texture you’re looking for. Awesome video man, those were some sick fish
first part true, but don't ever freeze it. Just keep it cold and keep it dry, and after 2-3 days it'll be primo
Freezing is totally good, but also breaking down the tuna along the sinew, especially in the bottom loin area and the belly leads to a much silkier texture.
lol do not freeze ur fish, ruins the whole meaning of “fresh”
The bottom loin, especially the tail end is always fibery that's why the top loins are used for sushi and sashimi.
freezing only works if you flash freeze it
I don't think you will ever forget that catch. Great video!
Great video Matt..it’s good to have friends ..next time try getting some under water footage of those tuna feeding, that’ll be sick.
Dude I just landed in Portugal right now on the islands watching your videos! You got me excited to get some gear already and find out what’s in these waters 💜 best of luck in your upcoming newborn 🫡🤝🏼wishing you the best!
Hell yea man I was 80 miles out of Newport Beach last month and got two big blue fins one was 187 and the other was 215 it was an awesome moment day. First time I saw the ocean and I got to be on a boat for 20 hours and got two tuna keep the amazing videos come brother
Is.it a charter you when on ?
@@YirmeYahuShamaYahu buddy's boat
Epic. Thanks for taking us along. Do a 360° VR! Do those guys ever do ikejime? Hope Sarah and baby are well! Oh and love the music track selection!
Nice catch. Here we used shaved ice which is 1000 times colder than cubes. And live bait (anchovies) which are generally no bigger than about 5". Nice video.
That tuna is absolutely 😍!!! Congratulations on your baby girl btw!
Awesome video. It's been about 12 years for me. Love and miss that fight. Happy fishing guys 🎣🎣🎣
Now that’s how you get into em!! That’s definitely a bucket list fish for me?
When the dude say blue ballz I really understand that moment... emotional damage.. but that's a dream fish for me your so lucky to go catch it.... Marlin fishing should be your next list I bet
Fantastic video boys!!! Alec seems like a real good dude!!! Good captain!! Good fisherman!!! What a beautiful day!!!🤘🤘💪💪🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Great video as always. Nice to see you get out and chase some big ones. Sick Parker and Accurate reels too. Nice job guys. Fish Hard!
That same exact thing happened to me with the kelp, 3 times before I ended up hooking on a 100lb tuna. I was totally gassed as soon as I hooked up on that tuna and had to switch off with someone about 3 times before we finally gaffed it. Best and worst experience ever, was sore for the next 2 days.
thats so cool you came down to SoCal! there are some great spots in Dana Point and Newport if you ever get a chance to go there. Its been pretty damn hot though this week to go fishing for me haha
Wow wow wow Matt awesome video lots of action. That's a lot of groceries for the family for sure. Anyways stay safe out there and have a blessed day. Aloha from Kansas
So Happy for you! Fish of a lifetime! Bluefin for days!!
Dude, they sell ice in LA too.
🤣🤣🤣
My son asked, “Don’t they sell ice in Southern California?”
Congratulations on your baby girl too matts!!!! Life is GOOOOOOD♥️♥️
That was a pretty challenge awesome catch, Thanks Matt for sharing the video. Let’s get fish’n.
This season has been great! Lots of bluefin, yellowtail, dorado and yellowfin. Doesn't get better than this. The grade of fish has been excellent!
Somebody needs to send Matt a fighting belt to save his balls lol.
Great Catch Matts. About fell out when you asked if anyone had ever lost a nut. Thanks for Sharing. Stay Safe. Stay Healthy.
Hahaha
Well done Matt!! I really like the drone footage too. 💪👊🤙
Great day of fishing... You know its gonna be Kelp you dragged it 50' and it ain't fightin'.. Thanks for sharing guys 😎
Now that was some real fishing!
I know you're sooo grateful to those guys for putting you on those fish like that...epic memories...LET'S GO!!!
Great time and congratulations on the baby 🎉 keep up the great work
Fishermans life dude. I went to your website and I really think some of your lures and tackle would also crossover well here in South Florida. Like the rock fish bobber;it would be good for free lining live shrimp in fast moving water and current for snook.
Also the bright glow in the dark jigs. Night fishing and jigging over deep water offshore wrecks, reefs and deep holes.
10:43 -- LOOOOOOOOOOOL
Love catching Tuna! They literally fight until they die, one of the best sport fish to target and eat here in Australia!
Alex vibe on a fishing boat great times and shout out to fisherman life for the awesome video!
I would suggest getting some dry age wraps from "the sausage maker" and dry aging some of that tuna. You will be blown away by the flavor.
Great footage Matts! So sick getting the gaff shot on the drone!
Probably your best video without butter! awesome!
Thought sure you all would throw a popper into that frenzy. Great vid.
Definitely tried. 150 ghost popper by Tuna riot. No go!
Absolutely awesome bro... good job Matts...
Dude that angle with the drone where they gaff that fish was so sick!!!!
Awsome ... at 9:10 couple of wolfes.. glad you guys Caught!!
I like your outings. Great to see you with your buddies and simply fishing 🎉
We once hooked a bamboo while trolling for marlin… reel screaming, the boat wake, and every so often we got a glimpse of one of the bamboo branches that looked like a marlin bill. We were lucky that nobody radioed “marlin on”….🥹😎
I feel the 300lbs of ice. I have a 400qt (I think it amounts to close to a half tote?) Grizzly cooler we use for meat on hot weather hunts. I usually start with 600lbs of ice and distribute to other coolers keeping 300+ in the big cooler. Thankfully have a production facility not far away. Cheap and fast.
Would LOVE to head down to SoCal for BFT, but for the cost to get down from Portland + a boat I could fish for over a week in Panama for big YFT, Roosters, Cubera, etc. Including airfare and lodging.
Why get all of that ice before the frive though?
That tug is strong! Crazy heavy pulls and even crazier fish boil on the surface.
Best fishing channel imo. Keep up the good work and keep catching them!
Sick! Great footage and put together super well
That little driving montage at 1:55 with that drum and bass beat was sick
You keep getting better and better with production.
Epic day on the water. Thanks for sharing!
Good to see you hook up the big bro. It’s almost time for back yard tuna. See ya out at Santa Cruz.
Hopefully you will get to see massive fish feeding like that again, but consider yourself lucky to have seen it at least once. Nice fish.
Good job young man, my first bluefin did the same thing and almost died as it was coming in. But the next one I thought just about killed me. I think it might be where the hook is set in the fish sometimes The Hook will take the fight right out of them. The point of my statement is don’t be overconfident. Nine times out of 10 your just gonna be holding on for dear life!!! Love your show bro
Awesome! Glad you got into them!
Dang it, I was going to go there when I cam back from San Francisco on the Labor Day weekend. It would have been so nice to finally meet you. My dad is a fan of you too.
Haven't had an update from your channel, good to see you again my friend
You guys definitely earned your fish.
Hard work and a tough fight, that's how fishing for monsters like that should be.
Awesome! Keep them coming please. All the best. Cheers from Canada
7:32, priceless!
Amazing footage of the feeding frenzies! And man, fighting that tuna was intense! Along with the sea kelp👀 LOL jk bro! Awesome video as always!
🤔...why give ice such a long ride??? could of picked it in Irvine !!!
Who else noticed joe Rogan at the beginning 😆🤣 love this channel so so much. Fishing and funny
Fresh bluefin is the best. And I chopped it up in little bite size chucks and mixed with pico de gallo eat it with chip. 🎣🎣🎣awesome fishing guys
What a day, great film guys.
Aww MANN he brought the BANANA 🍌 even after askin him not to LOL his last tuna TRIP...😩😆😝
We are getting the tuna here in the north east too! Jumboooooss!!!
Those jigs looks awesome
Got to say I’ve been watching since you’re 48,000 subscriber I just wanted to stop in and say thank you you gave me serious motivation to keep going in my life when I had nothing and I’m glad to see you’re doing healthy
Thanks bro. Happy to hear you still going strong!
He’s nice… as long as you feel faster! Great video!
😂 A lot of pressure on the line when i told him to drive 6 hours to catch some tuna Lol
The cat knows 😂 I'm your friend right? 🐟😀 Love the show good to have friends
Why didn’t you buy the ice in LA
That was awesome, congratulations men.
Mats, great video. I wonder if we could charter that boat???? Looks like they can put you on some great fish.
Thanks for showing that. I'm glad it's not just me who has lost a battle against a massive kelp patty.
Another great episode. Awesome trip.
Great catch! Bravo on baby!
Not not unheard of we’ve been having them for about four years now here in Southern California..
Thanks for the video guys and very nice catch
What's up Matt,
Freaking awesome!
Thanks for sharing
