  • I flew into Stika, Alaska with some friends to fish with Horizon West for King Salmon, Halibut, Lingcod and Rockfish. What a great time we had. Alex and Trevon did a really amazing job. Those guys worked hard the entire time. There wasn't any downtime for them at all. Constantly reading conditions and making decisions to ensure we were on the bite at the right time and place! Horizon West's entire operation was completely on point. Thanks for a great trip!
    At the end of the video you can see some bears we saw out in nature also theres a quick video of some bears we saw at the Fortress of the Bear.
    A couple of us got in a day early and we used the time to hike from Silver Bay Lookout past Blue Lake Gate through Tongass National Forest Sawmill Creek Campground and into Beaver Lake Trail which was really cool. Our hike turned into Herring Cove Trail and there was a really cool waterfall. If I ever go back it would be mandatory to bring whoever I am with on this exact hike, it was incredible!

    Nice Vid Andy! You beat me there you dog! One of my buddy's went there last year and at my daughters wedding in January a bunch of the guys booked a trip for August, so we are bringing the gang up there. Any advice for when we are there?

      Yo! Love your videos man! Great seeing that Pulley Ridge action from naples/ft myers area! You guys get on some fish. In the description in this video I detailed this hike that we did that was about 7 miles. Not sure if that’s your cup of tea but man it was pretty! If no hike then at least check out the bears at the Fortress of the Bear! Looking forward to your video when you get there! Message me on IG and I can get you more details if you want. Andyemerson8

    Thanks much for the excellent video, Andy! Out of curiosity: What’s behind your right ear? Is that a sea sickness patch?

    • @AndyEmerson8
      @AndyEmerson8  3 месяца назад

      Yes! After the captain warned us of forecasted choppy weather he recommended using the patch. Someone in our group had an extra one so I tried it. I don’t know if I would have needed it but I didn’t get sick so it was potentially helpful!

    • @YuGo122
      @YuGo122 3 месяца назад

      @@AndyEmerson8 Thank you for the quick reply. I am wondering whether these things really help with sea sickness. I have always wanted to fish on a charter boat, but worried that instead of fishing I would be spending my time doubled over near the board.

    • @AndyEmerson8
      @AndyEmerson8  3 месяца назад

      @@YuGo122 a very valid concern! I’ve had sea sickness hit me very randomly. I make sure to eat clean the night before, get good rest and I’m usually good to go. But still once in a blue moon I get sick! And it ruins the fun. So if you are worried at all go ahead and try the patch. It’s less drowsy than taking Dramamine. Unless you take a half of a Dramamine the night before that is another good method.

    Be sure you know the regulations before booking a charter. They are different for paying customers vs non-paying anglers. All those big limits, giant lings and halibut were caught and kept by non paying anglers. The charters don’t tell you that when you book that those big fish were caught by non paying anglers/residents, not paying customers. Customer beware. Speaking from first hand experience.

    • @AndyEmerson8
      @AndyEmerson8  3 месяца назад

      Kind of a confusing comment. We were paying customers and this video shows the fish we caught. Even the Large halibut was caught by a paying customer in our group on the boat next to us so I still am unsure what you are talking about.

    I would love to subscribe, but your video has very poor film quality and you don't show the fish very much and you don't do the biggest thing to get views and subscribers and that is catch clean and cook videos? Naby later when you make the changes! 😮😢

      Interesting opinion!
      For some of us it’s just a freezer stuffer trip for the best eating fish. But shot in a gorgeous location.
      Video looks pretty nice to me…the Pacific Northwest just looks that way lol
