- This is day two in Alaska at kingfisher lodge in Craig. We head out with Hopes of catching a big halibut. We see humpback whales, killer whales, and catch a pile of fish including coho salmon, black bass, lingcod and halibut. Before we head back to the dock we try one more spot and Sara catches a huge halibut! Enjoy!

Nick, we need to get you a head mount go pro for ball cap!!!! I have an LED flashlight that I used last winter on a ball cap when I was working a 2 stage snow thrower! It was awesome!! I need to go back to Alaska on of these days. Great video! BTW-Super relaxing when the salmon hide under your boat when the orcas are looking for them!!!!!!

That is a dream I've had since i was little, catch a barn door size halabit° wonderful tasting fish I've ever had. Cooked in butter served on a bed of rice.. makes my mouth water.. i want a 100 pounder just to start nothing too out there! 😆 🤣 wonderful video thank you!!

Incredible times, can't say enough how much of a bucket list trip that is for us. Thought the Capt. was going to bust out a .40 cal and pop that big halibut in the head. Great content Nick 👍🏼

What’s up man I want another great great video you’re making such good content man I love you you’re online you should really again you should really come up this fall in place if you wanna go to Shabazz high school if you yell get the right you and it’s just hard-core fishing and it’s like rough and tough it’s not like oh it’s a little fishing rod not fun but it’s not relaxing fishing it’s climbing up on rocks for you don’t have to but you know getting into a wetsuit or swimming out with slippers and a rod in yours or something for meIt’s definitely really fun definitely a really fun really cool place

I wish that I could be there but I am disabled and can't! It would be nice if you could send me a couple of salmon and a piece of halibut but I am only dreaming!
Lightly fried ??!? Next time use a deep fryer, a touch of salt/pepper, cover (halibut balls) with a light coating of tempura mix. Really hot oil, and dunk...less than 3 minutes. Do not overcook...really hard to beat.

@@mattklohs Not sad at all...just paid close attention to the video and saw how dark it was when described as lightly fried. I lived in Alaska for many years so felt I had to add my favorite way to cook it. I left out a small bowl of Terriyaki sauce at hand to dip in now and again.

That scenery was truly spectacular. And what an awesome fishery. Kudos to the governing bodies protecting that resource. Every RUclipsr fishing there absolutely kills it and the quality of each fish makes excellent table fare. I'm so jealous but happy for you both. Thanks for sharing.

You said it Frank and gave the youngins' something to ponder.... I just turned 55. What these kids fail to understand is heath is everything. I was in the best shape of my life at the ripe age of 45. Then all of the sudden the ailments took grip too many to list. Stay grateful.

Great video! Frank is correct about Alaska, it's not a trip it's an experience. My cousin and I did one about 5 years ago. We stayed 10 days but we rented an RV in Anchorage. There is no better way to see and fish Alaska than an RV because there is no limit to where you can go or stay. It is by far the most scenic and majestic part of this country that is largely untouched.
I live in Juneau Alaska. I fish alot. Nice video except for killing those halibut over 100 pounds. Let them go.........Jeepers. Where is the conservation ethic. And, they don't taste that good.

My Favorite trip is when we went to Alaska. I took a black bear caught salmon on fly rods deep sea fished and caught halibut. We set crab pots and caught flukes right off the docks.

I'm so glad you made it up and a bit North of my old stomping grounds around Vancouver Island!! Some great catches and even got some whales on video!! That stretch up the coast from Prince Rupert up to Ketchikan and out to Craig has some amazing fisheries and even more amazing scenery!! Tell Sara that around Vancouver Island a bunch of us spearfish for Lingcod and some of the different Rockfish, she should look it up and maybe try it next time you guys fly up!!

I just baked halibut a couple of nights ago. Olive oil or butter. Salt and pepper or a rub. Lots of garlic. Lemon or lime juice. Bake in the oven at 425 about 12/13 minutes. Broil for 1/2 minutes. Add more lime/ lemon. Bobs your uncle. Never over cook halibut. Med. rare is the absolute best. You will thank me later.
