Trip of a lifetime Nick, hard works pays off! Fun to see you doing something different with Sara! It surely made a great video with amazing fish, keep it up and keep the entertainment coming for us.
Get outside and go to a park and relax, Go fishing!! ... bring a snack read a book that you have interest in. Depression and Anxiety is a pain in the butt I struggled with it in the past also just don't stay in the house get outside like when you were a kid.
I haven't watched any of you Florida boys in a while, just busy with life but Facebook been to depressing last couple days so I decided to watch your video because my dad passed Sept 9 and would want me to try and make it down to you for a fishing trip, to make me forget about life and what's going on for at least a couple days. I'll be saving and hope to see you in the future. Make sure to hug your loved ones cause no one is guaranteed tomorrow..
The fish cleaners are the real unsung Heros. Keep up the good work to everyone behind the scenes of any place like this, cannot be done without you Ladies and Gentlemen. Mr. Nick and the Fam, One day I hope to get to go down South and meet y'all, Keep up the good work.
nick u and that mini rod u caught just a behemoth of a fish 2 different times now ..that mini rod pulls through again man unbelievable.. i love it keep it up nick u are a beast freaking impressive !!!!!
Those of us who live and fish in Alaska and have done so for a few years would have released the large halibut. For one reason, large halibut like the one in this video are female, not male. Males don't get that big. Females like that should be left to breed more halibut. Another reason is that the meat on halibut over sixty pounds or so is not as good as that on the smaller fish. The guides should know that and discourage keeping the big ones.
I agree. The didn’t keep that beautiful fish for food, although they likely did eat it …what I mean is they killed it for bragging rights…and how sad is it for a fish that lived that long so as to get that big , to be a female of breeding age, and in prime condition..to be slaughtered for the table of humans that can easily afford to buy whatever fish they want to eat. I love love love fishing. But for the love of god…let these huge ones go back to continue to breed other big ones. 😀they’ve earned it.
In Newfoundland Canada where I'm from only fishermen can catch halibut. U cant buy tags or a license. It's so dumb. The only fish u can catch in the salt water is cod, squid, mackerel and herring. U can get a license to get scallops. We have no freedom here to do anything everywhere else u can get a license to get lobster crab and other types of fish. We have some of the cleanest waters in the world and lots of fish. But it's the commercial fishermen are the only ppl allowed to catch it.
If you watch the video he had 2 tags from the Department of Fish and Wildlife for gaf sized halibut. He did nothing wrong and had the trip of a lifetime.
Halibut is my favourite fish, as a 15 year old we would pull a wade net along sandy beaches in PEMBROKESHIRE, Wales. Catching a Halibut would be the best outcome possible and by far the best eating. Unfortunately, no wet suits only multi layers of old cloths we would wear on the Farm. It’s surprising how warm you would get until a big wave rolled up to your shoulder. Great times with fresh fish to eat for supper and breakfast. 🐟🐋
Absolutely a wonderful video. I might need to go there instead of the Northwest Territories one year. More info on the baby rods is needed! Mr. Stanz, you and your wife come across as such incredibly kind people. Meeting you and spending a day in a boat with you is on my bucket list. Kindest regards, Clark Anderson
Thanks for watching. We are sold out of the “NickStick” offshore mini rod at the moment but have more on order. I will update the website at www.stanzfishing.com when we get them back in stock.

Don't know that I'd call any of those halibut a 'giant', first one I ever caught personally up there was 254 lbs. A few days later my brother brought up a 375 pounder that dwarfed mine, but the biggest Halibut I've ever seen was something over 827 lbs, which by the way was one scary damned fish. One look at the teeth on that one literally sent chills up my spine. I was later informed by an 'old timer' that they got even bigger, sometimes a LOT bigger than that. Well my response to the proposal to go after one like that? In the immortal words of Mr. Goldwyn: "Include me OUT!!!" lol. One other thing, unless I missed it, I didn't hear anything about anyone catching a "Tyee". My father, my brother, and even I caught them up there, but it was many years ago. For those that don't know, a Tyee is a monster of a king salmon, quite literally a "King of Kings" which I *think* is what the word Tyee actually means:) Ours were in the range of 70 to 105 lbs if I remember correctly. Sadly, I don't know that many of those even exist anymore, but back then if they hooked one up, the commercial guys would mostly just cut em loose before they could tear up too much of their equipment cause if they didn't , they'd bust up the gear with such violence that it sounded akin to a high powered rifle going off, serious (and exhausting ) gamefish. I'll tell you one thing though, after you've caught a Tyee, the thrill of catching lesser salmon becomes something like pulling in bluegill heheh.
Yay!!! That halibut was huge!!! 221 pounds!!! On the little fishing pole, the Nick stick!!! Cool video!!! That's enough salmon & halibut to eat for weeks!!! 😆🤣😂
Great fishing and family fishing! I also like the Alaskan fishing docks and it looks like a lot of fishing is dine right and with the right people who got it together and know you doing. I would love to go fishing there.
Thanks for all the Fantastic reporting every day always watching the report waiting for the weather to calm down got a little 12 ft aluminum boat I take out and the weather is a little rough right now

My biggest in Alaska (commercial), halibut 390 lbs. King salmon, Columbia River species 96 lbs, coho 22 lbs, sockeye 23 lbs, sockeye 1500/day, no time to weight them. Best 5 summers of my life.
awesome video. Beating the Florida heat. i’ll bet those fellas working up there would love to come south for a little warmth. Congrats on the big Butt.
Hey, I enjoyed the video I love to fish and seeing you guys kids and all them just off the chain. Congrats on that big house but that was a pretty baby right there. WRG.
Loved watching! Used to work at the resort next door and visited here once. Glad to see you catching some nice fish! Also, for those who don’t like him keeping a big female. All male Halibut change their sex at 45” to female. Keep on keeping on!
Thanks for watching! Bet you had some great times working in the area. Also great to know that halibut change from male to female around 45” in length.

First time viewer, really enjoyed it. Just thought I would watch for a view minutes but you had me till the end. From Newfoundland and Labrador so the weather looked familiar.😂 Thanks much and tight lines!
Welcome to the channel! Thanks for watching
OMG! Nick! What an amazing experience to share with your wife. I bet you two had a blast, and it will be etched in your memories forever. Well done both of you!
For sure! A trip to remember no doubt. Thank you for watching
Smoked pinks are awesome. The meat firms up nicely
My biggest in Alaska (commercial), halibut 390 lbs. King salmon, Columbia River species 96 lbs, coho 22 lbs, sockeye 23 lbs, sockeye 1500/day, no time to weight them. Best 5 summers of my life.
390 is huge!
Awesome drone work.
Keep it up !!!
Thanks, will do!
The Kingfisher folks are the best. It's been too long since I last visited.
Those boats do so good in the Alaskan waves man
Good boat there for sure
awesome video. Beating the Florida heat. i’ll bet those fellas working up there would love to come south for a little warmth. Congrats on the big Butt.
Maybe one day I can go it's on my bucket list
Good luck when you go 👍🏻

@@StanzFam 💯💯❤️❤️I really enjoy watching you enjoy fishing
Thanks! Appreciate it
Loved watching!
@@StanzFam Definitely great times, that weather over time starts to wear on you though. Gotta take the boat out fishing more when it starts to get you down! Your trip brings back a lot of good memories, that’s for sure. Thanks for sharing!
The clobbing scene from 43:00, totally funny. I wished you added the Benny Hill theme music to it...

Wow Awesome!! I would love to fish even partly like that!!
